“Baby Girl don’t cry for me. You know that I love you, you’re my soul, my light, my everything. Yes, I do want to wait for you. You know that I’m a bastard, it’s who I am. I’m an Elite, and I’m to rule soon, and part of being the king is to be ruthless, merciless, and soulless.

You know me, who I am for you, but you also know who I am to the world, and the world can’t see my weakness. I don’t want you to be a target, a way to get to me. I will die if anything happens to you.

Baby Girl, you are my weakness! I have to work, I have responsibilities, and I’m darkness personified.

You know why we need to wait, and you know that I have needs, but that doesn’t mean that you’re not my heart, my queen.”

Yvette’s clear green eyes tear up, she sniffs, glaring at him; she points her index finger against his hard-chiseled chest, emphasizing every word.

“Don’t you get it? Really? I can’t stand this! You keep telling me that. I’m trying to be patient. Do you know, do you understand that I’m hurting? Yes, I hurt when I know that you’re out . . . out there with these hussies! I. . . . want . . . you, I want to see you every day!”

  “Baby Girl.”

“Do you know what I want? I want you to handle your needs yourself or come to me. This bullshit telling me that I have needs doesn’t cut it!”

“Ok, I’ll handle it because we’re waiting.”

  “Promise?”

“Yes, Baby Girl, now come here.”

Trent groans, his heart stops, hating that she’s hurting. He moves his hand up her back, sliding it behind her neck under her hair and pulls her closer to kiss her deeply, desperately like a starving man.

Yvette wraps her arms around his waist under his Armani suit jacket. She returns his kiss, matching his passion, moaning into his kiss.

Oh my, I love him so. I’m afraid of losing him. I want him. Why can’t he put away those damn crazy thoughts of not being the right time? Why can’t he put aside that crazy old belief or fear that he’s defiling me? He’s only 22, not an old man! It’s not bad, it’s simple, it’s Romeo and Juliet, no big deal. Damn it! I try to understand, but people in love make love.

Trent bites her lower lip, holding her closer against his throbbing flesh. He nibbles, and kisses across her jaw, to the delicate spot behind her ear, inhaling her scent.

Fuck, my Baby Girl’s scent pushes me to the edge. She’s mine, and I will not lose her. Never.

He bites and sucks that sensitive area, marking her several times. He rubs his face against her neck, whispering.

“Baby Girl, I love you. I promise to make time to see you. I want you to spend some time at the penthouse this week. The girls will be there, and so will my brothers. Would you like that?”

Trent pulls back to smile at her and moves his hand to her cheek to run his thumb across her swollen lips.

Yvette's eyes tear up, she nods, pulling him down for another kiss.

Jennifer leans closer to the mirror to apply the last coat of mascara. She backs away from the mirror, smiling, turning her face to the right and to the left.

Yes, I’m ready. I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see Trent. This is the first step to getting close to him.

“Jennifer!” yells Jax, her older brother.

Jennifer looks at her reflection one more time, pleased with her reflection. She walks out of her room and down the hall. She walks over to stand next to Jax and the bodyguards.

“Is Halo ready?” asks Jax looking at his personal bodyguard.

Jax is a handsome, blond, muscular giant. He looks like a Viking, wearing a custom-fit Armani black suit. His blond hair is slicked back, and his blue eyes look cold.

The bodyguard nods, looking at Jennifer and then looks away.

  “Ok, let’s go.”

Jax looks over at Jennifer, checking out her strapless black gown. He shrugs, takes her arm. They walk out of the house and out towards the Halo.

“I need you to stay close to Trent or me. This is a charity ball, but several Lords, Bosses, and their crew will be there. This is a great opportunity for you to meet them and put a face to the Lord for each domain.”

Jennifer smiles, nodding her head, taking long strides to keep up with Jax’s lengthy stride.

“I understand. I think that I’ll stay close to Trent.”

Jax nods, taking her hand to help her up into the helicopter.

The helicopter ride is an hour-long, they arrive right on time to enter the charity with the other Elites.

Jennifer stands next to Jax, looking at the others as they walk down the walkway.

“Hey, you made it here on time,” says Trent, smiling at Jennifer and Jax.

Jennifer grins, walking regally, she hugs him and gives him a kiss.

“Yes, I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see these infamous Lords.”

Trent scowls, leans in close, taking her arm looks into her eyes.

The camera’s flashes started soon as they appeared on the red carpet. The flashes are blinding and nonstop.

“It’s not a great idea for you to be on your own. I wouldn’t want them to think that you’re someone other than one of us. I suggest that you keep close to one of us.”

Jennifer grins and leans in next to him, slipping her arm into his.

“I will, I’ll stay with you. Nobody will dare think that they can get near me with you at my side.”

Trent laughs, shaking his head, places his hand on hers.

  “Sounds like a plan, Jen.”

Jennifer grins, pulls him down and kisses his lips softly. The reporters go crazy, and the flashbulbs start going off.

They walk up the steps to the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco venue. The luxurious retreat is perfect for elegant events. It is ideal for the charity event for abused children, The San Francisco Hearts.

The ballroom is beautiful, chic, and a Neoclassical landmark. The breathtaking Bavarian crystal chandeliers and silver leaf table covers offer the perfect glamour suited for the Elite’s charity ball.

Jax and other the Elites walk away, talking to the Lords.

Trent walks into the ballroom, nodding at the politicians and Lords. Jennifer continues to hold onto his arm, smiling at them.

Lord Reyes, the Lord based in the USA, stands on the side of the ballroom, talking with two California Senators. He looks at Trent, nods at the Senators, and steps out in front of Trent, smiling.

“Konig, it’s a pleasure seeing you here,” says Lord Reyes holding a shot of tequila.

He greets Trent with a handshake, then extends his hand to touch his son’s arm. His son, Carlos, is standing next to him, looking at Jennifer.

Jennifer stands next to Trent looking at Lord Reyes, curiously, then glances over at his son Carlos.

“Hey Reyes,” utters Trent, nodding at him.

Lord Reyes looks at Jennifer and then smirks.

“Konig, is this your girl?” asks Reyes.

Trent looks at Reyes, shakes his head no.

“Reyes, this is Jennifer Slovak, she’s Slovak’s daughter,” says Trent.

Trent looks down at Jennifer, nodding.

“Jennifer, this is Lord Reyes and his son Carlos. They’re our USA Lord,” says Trent.

Jennifer smiles at Lord Reyes, extending her hand in greeting.

“Hi Lord Reyes, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Lord Reyes takes her hand, and raises it up to his lips, smiling. His green eyes look at her as he kisses her hand.

“The pleasure is mine, Ms. Slovak. Please give my regards to your father,” says Reyes. He releases his hand and turns slightly to his right, nodding at his son.

“Ms. Slovak, this is my son Carlos.”

Jennifer’s huge hazel eyes glance over at Carlos, nodding and extends her hand. She gazes into his warm green eyes, feeling the delicious chill flash through her body, watching as he takes her hand.

Ms. Slovak,” says Carlos, holding on to her hand, rubbing his thumb inside her palm. He gazes into her eyes, watching her blush.

Trent continues to talk to Lord Reyes, forgetting about Jennifer.

The next day, Trent meets up with Reyes on his estate located on the Southern California coast.

Trent wraps up the meeting with Reyes, and he looks at his watch. He regards Reyes, with cold hard gray eyes.

“Reyes, I’ll handle this. Don’t push it. Rossi will adhere to the governing bylaws of the Elite. In any case, I will not tolerate any additional unwarranted atrocities.”

“I understand. I believe that Williams is part of this too. I can’t tolerate their encroaching into my territories. They want to get rid of me and take over, but this will cause a huge war with Rossi and William. This is bullshit!”

“I agree, don’t worry about it, I’ll delve into their actions and take appropriate measures,” says Trent, grinding his molars.

“Konig, I’ll wait for your call,” replies Reyes Sr, clenching his huge hands. He glances at his son, shaking his head.

“Fantastic. I’m late for my next engagement. Talk soon,” says Trent nodding, he turns around to walk off to board Halo Blue.

“Konig,” calls out Reyes Jr, walking after him.

Trent stops, turns around squinting his cold gray eyes.

“Carlos,” Trent says, waiting to hear him out.

“Is Jennifer your girl?” asks Carlos Jr, standing straight, just as tall as Trent, but with a bodybuilder physique.

Trent looks at Carlos Reyes Jr, carefully assessing his body language, searching for his motives in Jennifer.

He shakes his head no, shrugging.

“Jennifer is not my girl, she’s Slovak’s daughter, Jax’s sister.”

“I’m surprised that the Slovak’s allowed her to attend the charity ball, especially since the Lords, Bosses, Capos were attending.”

Trent nods and looks at his watch.

“Jennifer is the first daughter of the Elites to meet the Lords. It’s a learning experience. In fact, tonight the Slovaks are celebrating her nineteenth birthday.”

“Is she going to be monitoring the Lords?” asks Carlos, fisting his hands.

“I don’t believe so. I need to get going.”

Trent, nods, pulls out his dark eyeglasses from his suit jacket sliding them on.

“I’ll be waiting for your call,” calls out Reyes Sr.

Trent nods, turns, and strides quickly towards the helo, with his bodyguards surrounding him. He jumps onto Halo Blue, pulls out his cell to check the messages.

An hour later, Trent and his bodyguards walk down the walkway towards the Elite Country Club ballroom.

The party is going full blast, the music is booming, and everyone is laughing.

Trent enters the party, looks around the crowd for Yvette.

  Damn, she didn’t come.

Jennifer walks up to Trent, smiles and gives him a hug, and a kiss.

“Trent, I’m so happy that you came!”

  Trent smiles, pulls away winking.

“Hey, Jen, happy birthday! It looks like you’re having a great time.”

“Yes, I’m having a blast! Please dance with me.”

Jen takes his hand, pulling him to the dance floor. She turns, raising her hands to set at his shoulders gazing into his light gray eyes.

Trent chuckles, enjoying her flirting. He roguishly teases her.

“Jen, you look lovely. How old are you now? Sixteen?”

Jen blushes, her eyes shine before she vehemently responds, shaking her head.

“No silly, I’m nineteen. When are you going to ask me out?”

Trent laughs, amused by her brazen pursuit.

“Oh yeah, nineteen? Where do you want to go?”

“I want you to take me on your yacht for the day.”

“Ah. . . . . that will be nice, but I’m extremely busy in the next few weeks.”

“No way, really? How about dinner?”

  Trent smirks and winking, nods.

  “That I can do.”

  “When?”

  “You’re a feisty little girl.”

Jennifer grins, her eyes sparkle shaking her head.

“I’m not, I only want to write you down on my itinerary.”

Jen is a lovely girl, and I know what she wants. I can’t give in though, not with her

Trent raises his eyebrow, chuckling nods.

“Right, you’re a very busy young lady. I’ll take you out to dinner next week as your birthday gift.”

“Oh my god! I’m so excited!”

  “Great, what about Friday?|

  “Yes, Friday is good.”

Trent walks down the walkway; his bodyguards close at his side. He looks around the gyrating bodies, looking for Jennifer in the club.

How did I get talked into this? Damn! This was supposed to be only dinner. She asked for us to meet here.

Jennifer sits at bar drinking some wine, she turns to look the dance floor.

Ah, there she is. What is she up to? Is she trying to date me?

Trent walks towards her, slides onto the stool. He looks at her, nods at her.

  “Hey, Jen.”

  “Trent!”

Jennifer jumps off the stool, she wraps her arms around his neck, gazing into his clear gray eyes.

“Jen, how much wine have you had? Did you come by yourself?”

Trent moves his hands to her waist, assessing how sober she is.

“Oh Trent, I only had 2 glasses, and I came with a friend. She invited me to the club, and I didn’t want to say no, but I didn’t want to break our date.”

Jennifer grins, running her finger over his lower lip. She leans in to kiss him.

Oh man. She really wants some. But that’s not happening.

Trent pulls away, smiles at her taking her hand.

  “Let’s dance Jen.”

  They go off to dance.

Jennifer moves her hands up his arms to stop at his shoulders. She smiles, gazing into his amused eyes.

“Trent, I hope this isn’t our only date. I really would like to spend time with you.”

Trent squints his eyes, gazes into her huge hazel eyes, reading her.

“Jen, let’s take it a day at a time.”

Jen pouts nods, pulling him down.

“Ok, could I have a birthday kiss?”

  Fuck!

Trent leans in to give her a peck, pulls back grinning.

  “No, that’s not a kiss.”

Jennifer pulls him down, kisses him, tasting him.

Hmm. . . . . .he tastes ok, but I don’t know. He doesn’t make me forget everything.”

Trent pulls away, shaking his head, glares at her. His eyes turning cold, gray steel.

  “Jen, I’m not interested!”

Fuck, she’s aggressive. Damn, it’s not happening.

  Three

  Two Years Later

Trent walks into the hallway in his apartment, stops to look into the mirror mounted on the wall to adjust his shirt collar and tie. He looks sexy in his dark gray Armani suit.

I’m stoked. I’m taking Yvette and the girls to the ballet to see Sleeping Beauty. I love taking them because that’s the only way I can see my Baby Girl.

“Trent, I’m ready,” says Jessica walking towards him, her heels resonating in the hall. She adjusts her earring, looking into the mirror in the hall. She then stands tall to adjust the formal black gown. She turns right and left to look at the dress.

  “Angel, you look beautiful.”

Brittany and Nicole walk down the hallway.

“We’re ready,” says Brittany draping her silver shawl around her shoulders.

“Awesome, you both look lovely,” says Trent.

Trent smiles at them, hugging the girls, he leans down to kiss their cheek.

The girls walk over to stand near the elevators, looking at their cell phones.

He looks down the hall casually searching fo
r Yvette.

“Trent, Yvette will be here in a sec,” giggles Jessica, rolling her eyes.

The elevator door opens, and two heavily armed guards walk into the foyer. They’re dressed in black suits and white dress shirts.

Trent nods and looks at his expensive watch, and glances over at the guards.

  “Everything clear?”

“Yes, sir,” responds the lead guard.

Yvette runs down the hall, holding the dress in place. The dress is red, with crystal and pearls on the halter top bodice. Her cheeks are flushed from exertion; her green eyes sparkle as she bites her red lower lip.

“I need some help, the zipper is stuck,” squeals Yvette looking at Trent.

“Geeze Yvette, where’s your shawl? I’ll get it while Trent fixes the zipper,” Jessica says laughing.

She wraps her shawl around her shoulders, walks to the guest room.

Trent pulls her arm to turn her around to face the elevators. He glances at the guards, nods.

“We’ll be up in a few. Have Halo Blue ready.”

The guards nod and walk into the elevator.

He looks down at the zipper frowning, pulls the zipper to get it unstuck, and zips her up.

“I’m always happy to help with all of your needs, Baby Girl,” Trent whispers near her ear.

Trent leans in to kiss her cheek, slowly moving his lips down her neck whispering in her ear, sliding his arms around her waist, pulling her back into his hard chest.

“Baby Girl, you look exquisite. You’re driving me crazy in this red dress.”

Yvette looks into the mirror, observes the image in the mirror, she gazes into his heated gray eyes, falling into his soul.

  “You look gorgeous.”

Jessica walks back into the hallway, heels tapping on the gray marble floor holding the shawl.

Trent pulls away smiling, winks at Yvette.

  “Are my Angels ready?”

  “Oh yeah,” says Jessica, nodding.

They leave the penthouse, get to the top of the roof, and get on Halo Blue. In a few minutes, they arrive at the War Memorial Opera House parking building rooftop, escorted by the guards.

The guards walk in front, on the sides, and behind them forming a protective shield as they ride down the elevator to the first floor
