The Pregnant Professor (McKenzie Cousins Book 11) Page 6

by Lexi Buchanan

“Oh, Jaxon!” I moan as we reach the door, and Jaxon stops. “Those images are hot.” I push my bottom against the erection pounding behind his zipper.

Jaxon curses. “You want it dirty, Poppy?”

I’ve never been so blunt about sex in my life, but before shyness creeps in, I blurt, “I want you to fuck my breasts while I suck the head of your cock so I can watch you come.”

“Fuck,” Jaxon growls. “I’ll be lucky if I don’t come in my pants.”

“We better get home quickly then.”

  Twelve

  Jaxon

Having a job is frustrating when all I want to do is spend the day in bed with Poppy. She’d admitted that the pregnancy made her horny, and it had me too. I only have to look at her, and I want her. That isn’t the only reason I’m on edge if I’m honest with myself. There’s part of me that is afraid she’ll disappear again. I know this time is different than Boston, but when she is closer to her brother than me, it has me worried. I wonder if all it would take is for him to beg her to return with him, and she’ll go. I’d hope not, but it leaves me uncertain.

Sighing, I spin my chair around, so I face the mountains with their snowcapped peaks. Lexington is a beautiful city to live with Boston being a close second. Both cities hold a special place in my heart and, not just because of the family being in Lexington, and my association with Poppy and Boston. I grew up in Lexington, so it will always be home to me. Boston is a fun and beautiful city, and after spending four years living there as a student, it will always be my second home.

I need to talk with Poppy instead of constantly getting her naked. We need to figure out where we both want to live, locate a beautiful house with a garden for our child to play safely in, and I need to find the courage and tell Poppy how I feel about her. We can’t have any misunderstandings between us. Not anymore. My heart hopes that my feelings are returned. I mean, she did come back looking for me, right? So that goes on the positive list. If I was to keep a list, that is.

“Woolgathering, Jaxon?” my cousin, Michael drawls, dropping into one of the visitor’s chairs.

Turning back to my desk, I lean back in my chair. “I have a lot to think about.”

“So, I believe.” He grins. “Brooke wants to meet her, so do the rest of the family.”

Groaning, I run a hand over my head. “That will have to wait. I need her reassured—me reassured—that we’re both where we want to be before the family overwhelms her.”

“Together, we are overwhelming. I’ll buy you some time, but not much.” He grins. “A Dad, huh?”

“Yeah. I didn’t see that one coming.” I laugh. “It brought her back to me so, that’s all that matters.”

Michael rests an ankle over his knee as he relaxes. “The right woman has a way of bringing the McKenzie men to their knees.” He shakes his head. “The first moment I caught sight of Brooke, I knew she was going to turn my life upside down. Wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

I watch Michael closely, and he laughs. “Spit it out, Jaxon.”

Groaning, I roll my eyes. “I can’t believe I’m debating asking you for advice.”

“Sirena did?” He rubs his hands together. “Look how happy she is now.”

“I want to make sure Poppy is happy being with me, and I’m not sure how to do that.” I cringe. “I mean, I know she’s happy in, um, other areas of our relationship, but how do I find out if she’s where she wants to be and that it’s not just because of the baby?”

His mouth curves into a smirk as he tries to hide a laugh. “Your vocal cords seem to be working just fine with me.” He cocks a brow.

“Why isn’t it easy to get the words out?” I ask quietly.

Michael leans forward. “Because your heart is on the line. Opening yourself up for rejection is never easy. However, she has a brother who is more than willing to care for her and the baby. Which means she didn't need to move in with you to be well taken care of. Her heart is obviously as involved as yours is.” With that said, he stands and moves slowly toward the door, fastening the button on his blazer as he goes. “She’s carrying your baby. I think you should go for it.” At the last minute, he turns, “Good luck.”

As the door clicks shut behind my cousin, my phone rings. I smile when I see Poppy’s name on the screen and the beautiful picture I took of her this morning.

“Are you relaxing?” I ask, accepting the call.

  “I’m trying to.”

I frown. “What is it? Are you okay? The baby?” I sit forward, planning on running up a couple of floors to get to her.

“I’m fine.” She chuckles. “I’m sorry I worried you. I was just wondering where my clothing is. David said the courier left a couple of hours ago, but I don’t have anything yet.”

“I’ll find out and let you know. Don’t worry. Relax.”

“Okay. I’ll carry on watching Netflix.”

I hear the smile in her voice, as I add, “I’ll join you soon. I think I need a day off.”

“I’d like that,” she whispers, her voice becoming husky.

Swallowing around the lump in my throat, I say, “See you soon,” as I finish the call.

Where the hell has her things gone?

Picking up the landline phone, I ring down to Reception, and when Sian answers, I’m reasonably sure I know where Poppy’s belongings are. “I’m trying to locate two suitcases, Sian. Do you know where they are?”

“Why yes, Sir!” her words grate on my last nerve as I clench my jaw, so I don’t say something I’ll regret. Then again, I’m not sure I’ll regret saying anything in a temper to that woman.

“Where the fuck, are they, Sian?”

  “Behind the Reception desk, Sir.”

Slamming the phone down, I let a long stream of curse words leave my mouth. That woman needs to fucking go.

Picking my cell up, I head toward the elevators while I shoot a quick text to Alexander. Fire Sian or redeploy her away from this building. PLEASE!

Unfortunately, I don’t have the authority to hire and fire staff, but I hope one of my cousins will do as I ask, or at least shove her somewhere else in the company. That woman is nothing but trouble.

The elevator takes forever to get me to the ground floor, which I think has more to do with my impatience than anything else. As soon as the doors open, I stride toward the Reception desk and watch as Sian perks up. I don’t smile in greeting because I’m too pissed. I place my hands on the desk between us and lean in. “Where are they?” I snarl.

She backs away, and her smile slips. Good. I spot the bags tucked into the corner.

Without another word, I move around the desk, grab the bags, and hiss. “You had instructions to have them delivered to penthouse two as soon as they arrived.” I check the log on her desk and note that it was over an hour and a half ago. “Why are they sitting here?”

  “I’ve been busy.”

I bite my tongue before I curse. “Security are the only ones allowed on the private floors, as you well know?” I get in her face and notice she finally backs down. “Do your job, Sian, and we won’t have a problem.”

Stepping on the elevator, I know without turning around that Sian is shooting daggers at my back. I don’t care. What I care about is Poppy and her happiness. The elevator is quicker going upwards than it was going down, so I arrive at our apartment in no time at all.

The moment the door closes behind me, I drop her bags by the door and smile when I find her lying on the sofa, her heated eyes running over me. I smirk as I move toward her, leaving my blazer on the back of a chair. I’ve discovered she likes looking at me, which is a significant turn on.

“I think I should have left your bags downstairs.” I grin, sitting at her hip. “I like you having nothing to wear, but this robe.” I unfasten the knot over her belly and pull the robe open. My breath catches as my eyes run over her nude body. I raise a brow, holding her gaze. “No panties?”

She shakes her head, her eyes narrowing with arousal. “You
got them wet last night.”

“Fuck!” My breathing becomes heavy as I lean over her sexy body and lightly lick and nibble a breast. I cup the other and hold it to my mouth as I lather it good and proper. Poppy runs a hand back and forth on my thigh before she lays her palm over my thick erection and rubs. She removes her touch, and then I nearly come when she grabs my balls, massaging them with her fingers.

“Get naked, Jaxon.” The huskiness in her voice does things to my body that I can’t explain. It’s like a bolt of lightning zapping me in the dick that has me so fucking hard, my eyes cross. “Jaxon?” She moans, rubbing her thighs together.

I snap my eyes closed and jump up. My shoes and clothes get tossed over the floor, but I don’t give a shit. Poppy struggles to remove the robe, so I lean in and help her sit while I take the robe down her back and arms. I’m nearly brought to my knees when her wet mouth sucks on the head of my cock.

She giggles, and then in all seriousness, asks, “Will you let me touch you?”

All I can offer is a gargled response as she moves from the sofa and stands before me. I catch my breath because she’s so fucking gorgeous. The heat on her face, her swollen breasts with aroused nipples rising proud, and most of all, her baby bump, make her look like a siren…and she’s all mine.

I wrap my hand around my cock and stroke, enjoying having her watching me. Poppy licks her lips and reaching forward, knocks my hand away. “Only I touch you,” she murmurs, her small hand cool on my flesh. She moves in close until her nipples press against my chest, and she lifts her face up to mine. It takes everything in me not to crush my mouth on hers. Her hand jerks me off slowly—twisting, pushing, and pulling. My legs tremble, and my balls twitch with the need building in them to come. I reach around Poppy and massage her bottom while I shove my tongue deep into her mouth.

The heat running through me wins, and our kiss goes from soft to blazing in seconds. I grip her bottom as Poppy wraps her free arm around my waist, her fingernails digging into my ass. Growling, I try to catch a breath, so I don’t come, but it does no good. The moment she presses my tip against her belly, jerking me hard with her hand, I hiss and jerk my release over her stomach. She doesn’t stop pumping my dick, and more pours out of me. Moving her slightly away, I grunt as she tugs hard, causing me to release one more stream of semen that hits a breast.

Breathing heavily, I take her hand off me and wipe it clean with her robe before tossing it out of the way. I reach for her and rub my come into her breast, making sure her nipple gets lots of attention. “Are you wet for me?” I whisper, bending, and sucking her neglected nipple into my mouth.

“God, yes!” She grabs at my head and holds me to her sexy body.

Picking her up in my arms, I glance around and place her on the kitchen counter. I spread her legs and kneel between, tugging her closer to my hungry mouth. “I love tasting you.” I wiggle my tongue between the wet lips of her pussy and watch a shiver run through her, tightening her breasts to bullets.

  “Hold on.”

Her eyes close as I press my tongue against her clit. She leans back with her arms holding her up, her back arched. My come still marks her belly and drives me crazy, hardening my dick. However, I’m rock hard and leaking arousal when I bury my face between her legs. She’s warm, wet and, swollen. Her legs tremble, and she lifts when I fuck her with my tongue. I grab her ass and rock her on my face, my nose rubbing in her most sensitive places while I wiggle my tongue in her wet channel.

  “Jaxon! Oh—”

Gasping and panting and with my name of her lips, she shudders, her pussy convulsing on my mouth. I softly stroke her through the orgasm that rips through her until she's sated. My heart thumps hard against my breastbone, and with her pretty pink pussy in my face, I rare up and shove my cock inside. Poppy sucks in a breath, her legs wrapping around my waist. She locks her ankles on my ass and presses me close while she tightens her inner muscles—that’s all it takes. I hold myself inside and come. My vision blurs as the rush of pleasure takes over my body. I feel Poppy’s hand caressing my torso and her fingers rubbing my nipples. Her touch is gentle and arousing, that’s all I can concentrate on when I’m with her.

Pushing herself up, she wraps her arms around my neck and places kisses all over my face until she settles with her head on my shoulder. “I don’t ever want to lose you,” she says softly.

Hearing her confession gives me the confidence to go ahead and talk to her—like, really, talk to her. No beating around the bush. However, it’s not something I want to do while we’re naked, and I’m buried between her legs.

Slowly moving my hips away, I cringe at the wetness that follows my dick out of her. She looks too, and a blush creeps onto her face. I grin as I tug her into my arms. “That’s hot, babe.” I slap a kiss on her lips and carry her into the bathroom. “Shower, and then we talk.” I kiss her again.

  Poppy

Wrapped in a clean robe on the sofa, I watch Jaxon as he moves toward me in old sweats and t-shirt. My heart always thumps heavily when I’m close to this man. I’m not even nervous after he said we have to talk. He’s showed me enough times since the other night how much he wants the baby and me. His eyes become glossy when he holds my belly and talks to our child. There is love in him for our baby.

“Don’t think too hard.” He sits opposite in the armchair, which does confuse me. “I want to see you while we talk.” He sounds more confident than I think he is, especially as he clears his throat. “What do you want, Poppy?”

I’m surprised by his question and wonder if my first thoughts were accurate. “Have you changed your mind?”

He shakes his head. “I want you in my life for the rest of mine, Poppy. You and our child, or however, many children you want. I want a house with a garden for the kids to play in. I want a couple of dogs.” He sits forward and reaches for my hands. “I know this is too soon, but I eventually want you to marry me. Not because you feel like you have to or you have no other choice, but because you love me.”

Tears come into my eyes and run down my face at his beautiful words. He nervously waits for me to say something. However, I can't find my voice. Instead, I sit forward and throw myself into his arms, climbing into his lap. I wrap my arms around his neck and whisper into his ear, “I love you, Jaxon. I fell in love with you in Boston.”

He releases a long sigh and tightens his arms around me. “Thank God.”

I enjoy being held in his strong arms and feel settled more than I have in a long time. I’m not sure how long we stay locked together in such a warm and affectionate embrace, but I slowly move my face from where it’s buried in his neck so he can see how sincere I am. “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have strong feelings for you. I want everything you said, but maybe a cat or two as well as a couple of dogs.” I smile and kiss his waiting mouth. “If it’s okay with you, I’d like us to be married before the baby is born.”

A low rumble works its way through Jaxon until he cups my head and covers my mouth with his. Our tongues twist together, and his teeth nibble on my bottom lip. “We’ll talk to my parents. Have a wedding there.” He looks bashful. “I mean, that’s if you want it there. Do you?”

“I’d love it.” I wince. “I’m going to ask David to come for dinner. I want him to get to know you. I also want him to give me away. He’s a pain at times, but he’s my brother, and I love him. I don’t want to leave any discord between us.”

“I understand, and I’ll do everything I can to prove to your brother how much I love you.” He kisses my trembling lips.

  “You love me?” I ask.

He blinks. “Of course, I love you. I said that.”

I shake my head. “No, you didn’t. Wanting me in your life forever isn’t telling me you love me. The words mean more to me than you’ll ever know.”

He rests his forehead against mine. “I love you, Poppy Green, and I can’t wait to be able to call you Poppy McKenzie, my wife.”

  “
I love you too.” I hug him close and smirk. “Was my luggage delayed because of the receptionist?”

He laughs. “You’re asking that in the middle of our serious talk?”

I wiggle on his lap, enjoying his reaction. “We’ve already admitted we love each other. Nothing more to talk about right now. So, answer my question.”

“Yes.” He sighs. “Sian had decided to keep them behind the desk for now. I’ve told my cousin, Alexander, to either get rid of her or redeploy her. He hired the witch, so he can sort her out.”

  “She isn’t nice.”

“No, she isn’t.” Jaxon’s hand start searching under the robe.

“Are you sure it’s okay for you to take the day off?”

“Michael would kick my ass if I didn’t.”

“Michael?” I question. “Wait! Let me guess? Another cousin?”

“McKenzies is run by my cousins, Michael, Charlotte, and Alexander, and some of my other cousins tend to work for them, myself included. My uncles all have a stake in the company they built. It’s a hundred percent family business. I love it, and so do the clients.”

“Hmm, you have a large family that I’ll have to meet.”

Chuckling, Jaxon pinches my ass. “You’ll love them.” He nuzzles between my breasts. “Now, let’s forget about our family and concentrate on each other.”

“I totally agree.” I hold his head to me, and whisper, “I love you, Jaxon.”

He mumbles against my breast, “I love you too, my sexy baby mama.”
