“I could make more and faster if I got a bigger mixer,” I offered easily as I checked out the balcony. The view was gorgeous. Even if there would be another mansion across the way, there was enough land in between, since these were to be mansions, to not remotely feel on top of each other.
There was a small laundry room off the bedroom, and that hallway to the bathroom had two huge closets for tons of storage and hanging clothes. Honestly, it was ridiculous. I could have fit a normal bed in each room. They were the size of dorm rooms like I’d seen on TV.
The bathroom was ludicrous. I gasped as I took it all in. There was a glass shower that could have fit at least ten people. The whirlpool tub a few less, but still, I could swim in the damn thing. There were two toilet closets and double sinks, so the place was meant for a couple, which was smart.
“This is nicer than my father’s suite,” I whispered as I checked everything out. I was drawn back to the view of the balcony, staying behind the thick doors and just peaking out the window. “I don’t know what you’re asking of me or thinking, but there is something I really want.” I rubbed my hands over my face, seconds from breaking down. “Sara said something about my mother having other children.”
“You want them found,” Nero guessed. “If she would stick you with people she was worried would kill her for what she knew, you think they are probably in just as bad of situations.”
“It makes sense,” I admitted.
“We’ll make her tell us and find them,” Verge said firmly. “We should do that as warriors anyways. That’s separate from this. We protect people, and they need protecting maybe.”
“Thanks, Verge, I won’t smack you for stealing the pudding I was saving to see which way I liked it better,” I replied as I wiped away a stray tear, trying to keep my emotions out of my voice.
“We need to like label shelves or figure out a way to do this,” Verge huffed. “Sorry, really I am. I’ve been coming back so late, and all Nero does is work, and half the time I’m snagging sugar for him.”
“I have no idea how to run a business or start a bakery,” I admitted before we moved onto the deal. “I really don’t. I never thought that an option, so I didn’t pay attention like I should have. I figured I maybe could escape Orlando once I figured how to get my papers and cook in another coven. I thought maybe offering to cook at a warrior camp so I’d be safe since I was so sheltered.”
“Jordan has several people who have all sorts of business management and economics degrees who could help,” Seth offered.
“And Ashton put everything through to offer you an actual contract to purchase so many of your wares for the warriors,” Nero added. “Why don’t we talk tomorrow after you’ve had a chance to think or figure out where you wanted? I didn’t think this would be such a shock we would ask you to stay here.”
I glanced at him then. “I’ve been sort of melty in the brain with how my transition went. Plus, I’m scared all the time, so it was hard to focus on much besides the cooking.”
“Are you still scared now that Sara and Davin are in custody?” Seth asked.
I swallowed a hysterical giggle. “Yeah, I’m terrified I have to go back since I’m my father’s son and next in line like Sara said since I’m sure he’s dead and Davin’s dirty. That place is a nest, and there is not a single person that I would vote shouldn’t get eaten. Anyone good came with us here.”
“Ellison and Seneca are leaving tomorrow to investigate what you and Ronny have told us,” Nero promised. “And no, you don’t have to go back. You do what you want, Jayme. You do have options now and not just here, so that makes you have leverage to sweeten the deal of staying here.”
I smiled at him. “You’re not going to screw me because you like me and Verge likes me. You gave me a place when I didn’t have one. Whatever you think is fair or want is fine with me.”
Nero gave Seth a worried look. “Why don’t you talk to him and come up with a plan?”
I glanced at Seth. “I don’t want to layout terms or conditions when they’ve been so nice to me.”
“That’s good, and no one says you have to screw people over, but you are valuable, Jayme. You’re kind hearted, but we all know you’ve been abused, and you immediately default to whatever other people want so no one hurts you. It’s time to move past that.”
“I don’t know how,” I admitted, realizing he was right.
“Will you let me help you?” he asked, his eyes telling me he was worried to ask as if sure I would shoot him down.
Like an idiot, I defaulted to my old ways, bowing to him. “I’ll be in your care then.”
He smiled at me. “Please take care of me as well.”
I blinked up at him. No one had replied formally like that when I acted that way. Most teased me or asked questions, always giving me funny looks or trying to change how I acted. Seth accepted it and me. “Can we have sex now?” Heat filled his eyes, and then I got nervous. “Well, I should shower. I’m totally dirty. And I need to stretch a lot. Should I do like leg stretches too so I’m not sore?”
“For the love of fuck,” Seth breathed, closing his eyes and swallowing loudly. “That’s it. I can’t take it anymore.” In a flash I was over his shoulder, yelping in shock and then giving a dorky wave to Nero and Verge as I was carried off.
“I’ll make sure everything is cleaned up,” Verge promised. “Be vocal. Guys like that.”
“I have no control over my mouth,” I admitted, my face flushing bright hot when they laughed.
He brought us out to the back, telling Ryan to protect his cake and bring it later. His siblings gave me an array of goofy and supportive smiles and gestures, fully completing my mortification.
“I don’t remember clearing him for sex,” Sam called after us. He laughed when Seth growled. “Once. No more, and nothing too crazy until he heals more.”
Seth agreed, and then he set me on my ATV, already having the keys somehow, and taking off for the warrior dorm. He drove super fast, and I wasn’t sure what to say anyways, so I just hung on. After he parked, I didn’t even have a chance to get off before I was back over his shoulder.
“You’re making me extra nervous,” I admitted when we reached the elevator. “I don’t mean to tease you. Please don’t get mad.”
“I’m not mad,” he promised, lowering me to my feet. “I’m trying to keep control because I’m seconds from fucking you all night, and that’s not what you deserve.”
“What do I deserve?” I whispered, curious more than expecting an answer even if he seemed to have one.
“Everything. You deserve everything. You deserve perfection your first time.”
“Wow, that’s a lot of pressure on you too then,” I muttered, wincing at how stupid it sounded to say.
“You’re worth it,” he growled as the elevator stopped. He picked me up, but this time wrapped me around him and kissed me silly. I had trouble keeping up with everything after that. I’d been too all over for too long, and now this was new and overwhelming, and I was missing parts.
It felt like I blinked and we were naked in the shower. I blinked again, and I was orgasming as he used his fingers to get me ready. Then more stretching while I gave him a hand job and he growled when he came on me.
And then somehow we were on his bed. We were wet from not even having dried off, and normally I’d be freezing, but Seth’s huge body was so warm and what he was doing to me made my skin feel on fire.
“I’m going to eat you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but I need in you right now,” he said, his voice tense. I nodded, whatever he needed I wanted to give him.
And right then I gave him my virginity. His huge dick was pushing inside of me somehow, and I had a moment to panic, but then he started whispering everything sweet and naughty in my ear and I melted. I lowered my shoulders to the bed, offering him all of me, which he loved from the deep groan he let out.
“Shit, that’s right, stick your ass up and let me have all of you,” he hisse
d as he leaned over me. “I’m sorry I’m being so dirty, but you feel so much better than I dreamed.”
“I like all of you, Seth, especially the dirty side that’s desperate for me,” I muttered, my skin flushing even hotter. “I’m not ready to say stuff back, but I love that I drive you crazy. You do the same to me.”
“You’re so mine forever,” he warned, and I wasn’t sure how to answer, knowing it wasn’t a real proposal and the heat of the moment. I didn’t take it as a threat but a goal to work towards. I’d stalked him with treats, after all. I was seriously into him as well.
And even more so after having sex. Sex was awesome. I mean, amazing even if it hurt and made me ache in a way I didn’t know I could. His body moving in and out of mine and with mine was perfect. We were perfect together, and even if it was terrifying when I felt how much he enjoyed me and being with me, I felt a confidence I didn’t know possible.
Plus, Seth had to be a sex god. All I knew was that first times were horribly painful and awkward. Mine was so good I lost track of how many orgasms, and all I wanted was to do it again and again.
We finished together, and I felt bad Seth only got one orgasm whereas I got a lot of them. He seemed to understand what I was feeling, murmuring that more than one of those intense orgasms and his heart might have given out.
Liar. A super sweet and awesome person, but a liar. Still, I found myself giggling after it was over and he cleaned me up. He gave me a funny look as I curled up against him to sleep, and it made me giggle all over again.
“Sweetie, you’re not supposed to laugh at a man before, during, or after sex,” he grumbled.
“Not laughing at you,” I promised, another giggle slipping out. “I want to do it again. I think I’m a sex addict if it’s with you. Can we do it in the morning? I mean, was that morning, noon, and night thing a real idea?”
“For the love of fuck,” he breathed, moving his hand over my mouth. “Give my heart a rest, Jayme. You cannot keep tempting me so much, or I will live with my dick buried in you now that I’ve found out how good it was. Just kiss me goodnight and go to sleep before I gobble you up again.”
I nodded, smiling when he moved his hand from my mouth. “Goodnight, Seth. Thanks for being perfect and making my first time perfect.”
He brushed his lips over mine. “It was perfect for me too.”
Glad to hear it.
I woke before Seth, used to getting up super early now but knowing Seth had been working a crazy amount to help and needed the rest. I wiggled out from his arms and found some paper, writing him a quick note to meet me at Nero’s when he woke up for a surprise. It was New Year’s Day, so there wasn’t cafeteria service besides cold cuts trays or cereal and easy.
Which meant I didn’t have to get anything ready.
Which was perfect because I’d planned to thank Seth for what I’d hoped was life altering sex.
I’d done so much planning and then prepping the day before that I was in good shape when I started. I had more and more ready for the fridge, covered, or in the catering tray warmers that London had gotten me in the hopes I did something special for Drake’s birthday. I did have a bunch of everyone ask if I would cater breakfast like I had on Christmas, but I turned them down since I had my own plans.
But apparently that made them curious as to what I was up to.
“No, don’t you do it,” I warned Verge when I saw him sneaking over to the fresh donuts. “There has to be a leftover cake or something for you.”
“I’m sure there is,” he agreed, holding up his hands in surrender. “I promised Manny I’d check on the kettles outside since they were supposed to be going for like a full day.”
“I added more logs when I got back,” I told him. Normally I would never have been okay with leaving a fire alone like that, but those on guard shifts were swinging by, and someone had built a fire pit around them basically so they were as safe as leaving a few logs to die on their own in a fireplace. “You can have coffee.”
“Seriously, what are you planning?” he whispered in awe as he took it all in.
“I second that,” Matteo muttered from the hallway off the back entrance. “Nate dragged me over here saying we might be able to get scraps.”
“Hey, not cool,” I grumbled. “No. I fed everyone yesterday, and there’s leftovers from that. You can take boxes of the mochi if you hand it out to others.”
“I smell bacon,” Nate muttered, giving me puppy dog eyes, which was ridiculous on a warrior that huge.
I pointed back towards the way they’d come in. “There were more cakes in that fridge. You get that, and I will make more coffee, but if you spoil my surprise and distract me, I will feed you nothing ever again.”
“Damn, you’re adorable when all fiery,” Zibon said from behind me. I glanced over at him and found him, Alastair, Wally, and Roarke standing there like they’d come in from the front door.
I shot Verge an accusatory look. “Did you tell all your friends there might be extras?”
“Wait, just a chance?” Bowie said from behind Matteo and Nate. “I came to get some for Sam. You said he was doing a tasting thing, Verge.”
“No, I said I knew he was up to something and it seemed like fun and we like fun.”
“You said a bit more than that after you got hammered,” Nate accused.
“Verge, fix this or I’m never feeding you again. He should be here any second,” I whined, near tears that my romantic gesture was about to be blown apart. I’d had too much crazy yesterday, and today was supposed to be all good and romance and nummies, and later he could eat his heart cake from me.
Or off of me. I was game for pretty much whatever he wanted.
“Okay, bring the cakes from the garage into the living room and we’ll grab plates and stuff and have a picnic,” Verge declared quickly. “Hurry, hurry so everyone gets coffee and we’re out of the way.”
“Thank you,” I whispered, relieved and not even able to hide it. “Serving spatula is in the far drawer. The pitcher for the coffee is in the cabinet to the left of under the sinks. Plates are two over from the microwave on the right.”
“Got it,” several people said, rushing in a blink to get everything and out of my way.
They made it work, and fifteen minutes later Seth showed up giving me an angry look. He stormed over to me, shocking the heck out of me, and pressed me up against the fridge. “Even if you leave a note, you do not sneak out of the bed of the man you had sex with your first time.”
“Sorry, I wanted to surprise you,” I whispered, my lower lip trembling that he was mad.
He gave me a gentle kiss. “Fine, as long as you promise to surprise me by still being in my arms and unable to leave me.”
My heart melted. He was pouting that I could leave him after my world was rocked. He was so damn adorable.
I gasped and ducked out of his embrace. “There was more to this.” I quickly found what I wanted and yanked off my clothes. I put on the apron with all the ruffles and turned back to him, my face flushing on max level as I realized I’d just gotten naked like that. I fixed my hair and cleared my throat. “Honey, I made you breakfast.”
“Uh-huh,” he grunted, only having eyes for me as he came closer. “I’m going to eat you.”
“I made all of this so you had the energy to eat me three times a day like you promised,” I blurted.
He glanced from me to everything I already had set up, blinking at it and grumbling he needed coffee as he wiped his eyes. Then he slowly looked back at me, shock written all over his face. “You made all of this for me?”
I adjusted how the apron sat against my neck as I nodded. “Too much?”
“Yes, this is too much for me to eat,” he chuckled, and then I was back in his arms. “Even my stomach has limits, sweetie.” He kissed me quiet. “But the fact you would go so overboard for me makes me ridiculously happy. I thought you were catering again and made me breakfast with that.”
“No, I didn’t d
o what they asked because I wanted New Year’s Day to just be about us,” I mumbled as he kissed along my neck. “I wanted to show you how much last night meant to me. I knew it would be awesome with you, but it was so much better. It was so, so good and went a bit over what I planned so you have fuel and—”
“Jayme, you keep talking and we’re going to have sex in this kitchen right now,” he warned.
“Oh god, they’re all in the living room,” I squeaked when his hands moved to my ass. “They came for food, and I kicked them out.” He squeezed my ass as he nibbled on my ear. “I don’t care. Let’s have sex again.”
And of course a timer went off. Seth let me go and went for the coffee pot. “Put at least some pants on or I won’t behave.”
“You’re angry again.”
“Not angry, dying to be inside of you.” He gave me a heated look as I pulled the pan out of the oven. “And you better wear that tonight for me.”
I shivered, nodding in agreement. That was fine with me if I got such a look from him. “Go sit down, and I’ll bring you coffee and your first plate.”
He chuckled, shaking his head and heading to the table. “You are so ridiculously awesome, I can’t even stand it. Can I text my siblings now that we can’t have sex because they’re all in the other room?”
“I can’t be flirty with them around,” I argued, hurrying to fix his coffee after I pulled back on my lounge pants. I ended up taking off the apron so I didn’t spill on it and redressing.
“But I’m hungry and I smell donuts,” Zach griped quietly from the living room, obviously talking to someone else.
I gave Seth a defeated look as I set everything down. He pulled me onto his lap and kissed me stupid. “It’s just as fun when we share, right? I love you, and this was amazing. I cannot even tell you what it means to me. No one has ever spoiled me like this because they love me and not just because I’m the eldest Curry or something.”
“Fine, but you get to taste everything first and they can have your leftovers,” I grumbled. “I wanted to learn more of what you like and have you help me set up maybe a schedule to help Manny.” I frowned. “Or maybe now my bakery.”
