Lincoln's Choice (A Ravens MC Novel Book 2) Page 17

by J. L. Leslie

  “Sully?”

She looks at me, her eyes full of tears. “I can explain.”

“Mr. Varelli, you’re under arrest. You have the right to remain silent…”

The agent’s words are lost as I’m handcuffed. I’ve done awful things. I know I’m guilty of them. I know whatever Sully, or Alexandria, whatever her name is, turns in on the Rykers, I’ll be guilty of it all. I deserve to be locked away for it.

I also know that even though I might deserve it, I’ll die before I spend the rest of my life in prison.

  ~Sully~

I sit with Agent Fisher as he goes over all the files I have. I reviewed them before submitting them and the evidence against Lincoln is very minimal. My main concern was the District 32 deal. I thought it would be what could bring the Rykers down. Mack had told me he was keeping tabs on all the women who were sold, but I know that was all bullshit now. I hope Agent Fisher can track them all down.

“This is outstanding.” Agent Fisher comments.

“Thank you. May I ask how you found us last night?”

“Tracked Mr. Varelli’s phone.” He answers. “We found the apartment and his name and number was on the lease.” He looks back over the documents he’s printed from my flash drive. “You were undercover for nearly two years?”

“Yes, sir. I began as a club…whore…and then I became the president’s old lady. Cal Harrison died a couple months ago. He was the mastermind behind a lot of the dealings. His father came in and took over after his death and as you know, he’s now deceased.”

“Yes, I don’t believe there will be an indictment for you to be concerned about. Your life was clearly in danger.” Agent Fisher informs me. “There are some other members I’m concerned about. Jason Clifton, Mark Lazarus, Trent Sims, Lincoln Varelli, Gil Dermot, Hayes Winchester, and Burch Gibson, just to name a few. What were their roles in the club?”

I shift in my seat, trying to hide my nervousness. I’m certain Agent Fisher can read me like a damn book though. He knows there’s no way I spent that much time with the Rykers without growing attached to some of them.

“Lazarus, Gil, Hayes and Burch are all deceased. I’m not certain where their bodies are located. I’m not told where they disposed of them at. I apologize that I can’t assist you that. Jason has been a member for a long time. He could have been next in line to be vice president. Trent is also a loyal member. I suppose you would say they all are. That’s what part of being in a motorcycle club involves. Loyalty. They are all guilty of crimes performed on behalf of the Rykers. They’re members. They follow the orders of the president.”

  “And Lincoln Varelli?” he persists.

“Lincoln Varelli was a vital member of the Rykers. He was well respected and it’s possible he would have become the next president once Thad Harrison returned to San Diego. He is also guilty of crimes performed on behalf of the Rykers.” I tell him. “But I’m asking for his immunity in exchange for the evidence I’ve provided to you. You need to speak with the District Attorney, Griffin Knowles. He was providing him with information against the Rykers. He deserves immunity.”

  “Excuse me?”

“I am requesting full immunity for Lincoln Varelli in exchange for the evidence I have provided to you. He walks.”

Agent Fisher shakes his head. “Ms. McGuire, you do realize that you need an immunity deal for yourself? You committed crimes of human trafficking on multiple accounts, among other illegal acts as well. You were not authorized by the FBI to be working on our behalf.”

I don’t argue with him that I thought I was working with the FBI. Everything Mack told me sounded legit. He had a badge. He dressed the part. He approached me on FBI headquarters. He sold me the idea of pretending to be Caroline Willis, Steve Willis’ daughter. The majority of what I did, I did believing I was working undercover for the FBI.

“I’ll use my immunity for Lincoln. He never wanted to be part of this club. He doesn’t deserve to be punished for it.”

“Let me see what I can do.” He stands, gathering all the documents, and leaves the room.

I put my head down on the table, unable to resist the urge to rest. I keep seeing Lincoln’s face when he realized who I was. Well, who I wasn’t. The hurt was evident. I knew it would be. I knew eventually he would find out. I knew eventually things would wind up just as they are. We were both keeping secrets.

On the bright side, the Rykers are now disbanded. The Ravens planned an attack on the clubhouse while we were away at the governor’s estate. I know now that Lincoln was working with the Ravens too.

The members that weren’t killed in that attack have fled. Either way, the Verdana Rykers motorcycle club is over. Diesel should be pleased. Both the Rykers and the Drycos are finished. The Drycos loss from the warehouse raid devastated them. The only motorcycle club in Verdana is the Ravens.

Now that I know Lincoln was working with the Ravens, it almost makes me laugh. He was also working with Griffin Knowles. We were both working for the same outcome and neither of us ever said a word. He made the choice to keep me in the dark. Just as I made mine to hide who I was.

Still, as I wait, I know I’ll give up my freedom for him to have his.

  Chapter Thirty-Two

  ~Lincoln~

You’re free to go. The moment the guard uttered these words, I stood at the bars and waited for them to be opened. It’s been one week. I promised myself I’d stay for one month.

Luka visited me the day I was booked in. He was a little bruised and battered, a bandage on the left side of his forehead. Despite his wounds, he told me the Ravens attack on the Ryker clubhouse was a success. The members that weren’t killed had hauled ass out of town. Maybe the bloodshed was over. There has certainly been enough of it.

Luka asked that I give him time to work things out for me. I’d heard those words before and stayed eight months in this place. I couldn’t do eight months again.

The guard gives me my things and the first thing I do is take the rubber band and pull my hair into a ponytail. Then I look at the pack of cigarettes. I can’t remember the last time I smoked. I slide them back across the counter and tell the guard to keep them. Sully will be happy. If I see her again. Despite our secrets, I know I need her.

  “No longer a smoker, Lincoln?”

I roll my eyes at Griffin. “You miss me?”

“Just ensuring my C.I. was released as promised.” He smirks.

“You didn’t.” I narrow my eyes at him.

“How else did you think you were getting out of that shit?” he says and pats my back. “We’ll talk later.”

“Don’t count on it.” I mumble.

I walk out of the Verdana County Jail for the second time as a free man. The sunlight feels good on my skin. A week in that hellhole will definitely make you appreciate the smaller things.

I look at the bikes parked in front of the jail and I don’t recognize too many of them. This is my new family. The Ravens.

Luka and Raiden are in the front with Dax. I’ve never even met him before, but Raiden assured me he wouldn’t mind having a former Ryker join his club. A baldheaded man with tattoos on his head is behind Luka. I know this is Kane. I’ve heard Cal talk about him before. I don’t look too much further because my eyes come to rest on my bike and the blonde perched on my seat. I can see her biting her bottom lip with worry as I approach.

  “Welcome back, Lincoln.” Raiden says.

“Good to have you home, brother.” Luka adds.

I look down at Sully and shake my head. “I don’t know what to call you.”

She rises to her tiptoes and hovers just millimeters from my lips. I can smell the sweet scent of vanilla around her. I fight it for as long as I can before giving in and crushing my lips to hers. She moans into my mouth when I cup her ass and pull her body flush to mine. I ignore the whistles that sound off behind me.

Breathless, she whispers against my lips, “I’ll always be your Sully.”

  I smile. “I
love you.”

“I love you, too. Now get on. I’m driving.” She winks.

The Ravens burst out laughing. I look back and I know this is where I belong. This is where I should have been all along. With my family.

“I like her, Linc.” Raiden comments.

“Me too.” Dax says. “Victoria would have loved her.”

I look at Sully, who has positioned herself at the front of my bike. She gives an eye roll, but then slides to the back. I climb on and she closes her arms around my waist.

Dax starts his engine first and the rest of the Ravens follow behind him. The choices I’ve made that have lead me here may have been gruesome and ruthless. They weren’t always the right ones. They were definitely fucked up at times.

  But I’m here now.

  Finally.

  Epilogue

  ~Sully~

My lips part and my eyes roll back, but Lincoln’s firm grip on my thighs keeps me from rising off the bed. He flicks his tongue over my piercing and I fist my hand in his hair. I feel him smile against my core a moment before proceeding to delve his tongue into my pussy.

I don’t regret for one second getting my clit pierced for him. I also love his piercing…right where I suggested he get it.

“Fuck…Lincoln…” I cry out when he sucks my piercing between his lips.

My body shakes with my orgasm and Lincoln laps his tongue up and down my center. I’m still catching my breath when he flips me onto my stomach and spreads my legs apart. His piercing is cold against my hot flesh as he poises his head at my opening.

“Who does this cock belong to?” he whispers, rubbing his pierced head up and down my seam.

“It’s mine.” I grin, looking over my shoulder.

  “Fucking right it is.”

He sinks into me and I nearly come again. The feel of his piercing tickling against my inner walls has me pushing me back to meet each and every thrust. He lies down over me, arching my leg over his thigh as he continues to pound into me. His breath is on my cheek as he trails kisses over my skin, down to my neck. His intertwines his fingers with mine and I grip his hand, getting lost in the pleasure he’s giving me.

“Do you want to come again?” He slows his strokes down and barely penetrates me.

I nod, biting my bottom lip and he nips at my earlobe. God, I don’t just want to come again, I need to. The soft penetration Lincoln is doing is fucking torture.

“You know what to say.” His voice is a strained whisper in my ear.

“I’m yours, Lincoln. I’ll always be yours.” I don’t hesitate telling him what he needs to hear. It’s the truth.

He slams into me, seating himself as deep as he can go and repeats this over and over. The delicious sensation of his piercing ripples through me, his warm seed spilling into me as he comes. I tighten my grip on his hands as my body convulses and tightens around his cock.

“I’m yours too.” He whispers. “Always.”

He stays tucked inside me even after we’re finished. His warm body still covers mine. I close my eyes and relish in knowing that I have him.

“What time did you say they were coming?” he asks, disturbing me from my moment.

“Griffin said around three o’clock.” I answer, my voice sleepy.

“We should probably get dressed then.”

Lincoln’s weight is lifted off me and I immediately miss it. I want him buried back inside me and curled back around my body. I moan my frustration at the loss of his warmth.

  “It’s almost three, Sully.”

I shoot up, my nerves suddenly going haywire. “Shit! Why did I let you talk me into sex?”

“Because you were a nervous wreck. You knew it would calm you down.” He answers, a sly grin on his face.

“That took longer than five minutes.” I roll from the bed and run naked down the hall to the bathroom so I can clean myself up.

Lincoln is laughing when I run back into the bedroom and frantically start getting dressed. I shoot him a dirty look, but he ignores me.

“What if it isn’t her? It’s been a long time, Lincoln. They could have made a mistake. I mean, Steve Willis thought I was actually his daughter.” I tell him. “Griffin could have been wrong. It’s not like he knew my sister.”

“Stop worrying. He said it was her, so it’s her.” He assures me and tosses me my t-shirt.

  “What if…”

Lincoln silences me with a kiss and I immediately melt against him. For a man who shied away from kissing me at first, he certainly doesn’t have a problem with it now.

I break the kiss when I hear a knock on the door. My eyes grow wide with fear, anticipation, and a full mix of emotions.

“She’s here. Holy shit, Lincoln, she’s here.”

“Maybe we should go let her in.” he suggests, a smile playing at his lips.

He takes my hand and leads me down the hallway. When he opens the door, I stand there staring.

“I see I’m not the only one who has a thing for bikers.” The brunette standing before me says. “I saw the bikes in the parking lot, so I just assumed.”

It takes me a moment for the recognition to set in, but it does. It’s her. It’s my sister. Her long, dark hair has the same wavy curl that it always did before. Her blue eyes are the same as mine. She’s beautiful. She always was.

“Oh my God.” I whisper as we both step towards each other.

Griffin eases away from her, but I noticed that they were holding hands. I suppose dating the District Attorney of Verdana would not be such a bad thing now that she’s able to leave protective custody.

“We have so much to catch up on.” Katy says, enclosing me in a hug. “How are mom and dad?”

“You’re right, we have so much to catch up on.”

I release her and look to Lincoln, sadness filling my eyes. In the weeks since his release, I’ve told him everything about me. My past. My family. Katy. How I came to the Rykers. I wanted him to know everything. We promised each other no secrets.

He still calls me Sully and I’m happy with that. I no longer feel like Alexandria McGuire. I left her behind a long time ago. I am a new woman with Lincoln. I choose to be his Sully. I always will.
