There's a few things I suspect are going on here. You've had a long and stressful day with the arrival of your family, the rescue and loss of your friend. Then the reaction from your father who threatened to take you away from me.”
“I’m not leaving.” I said.
“I won’t let you leave either. But you should also know that there's a full moon tonight which pulls mates together. You’re scent is getting stronger and Dom is about to lose it. I’m starting to suspect that since you've met your mate, you might be starting your heat.” He said.
“Heat? As in ... HEAT HEAT?” I said with panic in my voice. Chapter 29 – Sunset
Dimitri's POV
As a dominant Alpha male, I've never second guessed myself. It seems these days, around Raven, I was second guessing my every move.
I should have been able to claim what was mine without hesitation. The animal inside was genetically wired to understand raw sexual needs and dominance. While the human side of me wanted to make sure everything was right for Raven, who is the other half of my soul. If you had told me a few weeks ago I would feel this way about my mate, I wouldn't have believed it. I had no intention of ever claiming a mate. Dom could feel her heat starting and was begging to be let out. After her father threatened to take her back home, Dom made several attempts to take control and mark his mate. I knew this was something I couldn't force, I needed to be sure Raven was fully ready.

We reached the pack house and Dimitri shifted back. He carried me into the house, back to our suite and into the bathroom. The tub started filling up with water and Dimitri squeezed a purple bottle of Lavender bath suds into the tub.
“A warm bath should help ease your soreness.”
He leaned down and kissed my lips before he pulled the blanket off me. With very little effort, he scooped me up and stepped into the tub with me. I sat facing him, straddled over his lap. “Do what?”

“Only if you promise not to block me out from your thoughts. I want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly.” I replied.
“Sounds like a deal.” He kissed my lips. “Now, what would you like for breakfast? I can have Elaina send it to our room.”
“It's way past breakfast. We should get up and check in with Niko and Clair, besides, my parents should be here for dinner.”
We got dressed and made our way into the kitchen. Niko was seated eating a sandwich stuffed with Greek sausage, peppers and onions. Elaina greeted us and started preparing sandwiches for us as well. She set down a platter of Domatokeftethes, which is a delicious fried tomato fritter developed in the Greek islands.
Clair joined us and sat down next to Niko kissing him. “Sorry that took so long, my mother video called me.” She smiled.
“How are they doing?” I asked.
“Wonderful, they'd like to come visit as soon as possible but need the approval of your—" she stopped mid-sentence and sniffed the air. She must have noticed the change in my scent and her eyes landed on Dimitri’s mark on my neck.
