Boss's Pet: Billionaire Office Romance Series Page 30

by Jamie Knight

  “Jakey,” I called.

Down the sidewalk, my brother stopped and turned around.

“Hold on a second, I have to buy a pair of shoes.”

He put down the pug and stood up to glare at me. “Le Le, you have got to be kidding me.”

“What’s you hurry?” I snapped. “You have a hot date?”

Jake grumbled, rolled his eyes and crossed his meaty arms over his wide chest. Unfortunately, my little brother dated as rarely as I did, or as rarely as I did until the last month.

I wasn’t going to admit it to anyone but after Ray ghosted me, I was desperate to get a new man in my life. Obviously, my plan backfired, but that was fine. I didn’t need anyone in my life anymore. I didn’t need a husband or a boyfriend or whatever. I had Pugsly and soon, I would have a pair of hot new shoes.

  Chapter Two

  Ray

“Ray? Ray are you listening to me?”

I looked over to Kane and shrugged a bit. I wasn’t listening. I had been staring out his office window and looking over the skyline of Manhattan. Spring was coming and there was something about it that was making me feel odd. I felt like something big and life changing was coming but I didn’t know what.

“Sorry, Kane. I’m just off-kilter today. Maybe I need more coffee.”

Melissa, Kane’s Personal Assistant, looked over from her position seated next to me on Kane’s gray leather couch. She tucked a strand of her chin length bob behind her ear.

“You want me to get you a cup, Ray?”

Melissa’s British accent always made me smile. I thought she was from London, but she didn’t really talk about her past much. At least not to me.

I sighed and slumped back into the couch a bit, trying to decide if I wanted to bother her or not.

“It’s not a bother,” she said, basically reading my mind.

Kane and Ashton looked at each other. They and Maria—our newest partner and Ashton’s girl—had all pulled office chairs over to the couch so we could sit informally around Kane’s coffee table. I could tell the set up was a little too informal for Ashton, who was very proper at work, but Kane liked us to feel relaxed at meetings like this. We were all friends, so why not.

Maria raised her dainty hand up off the arm of her chair. “I’ll have one too, please, Ms. Star.”

Melissa frowned at her. “It’s Melissa, Ms. Herrera. You don’t have to be so formal here.”

Maria nodded, but she still looked like she didn’t believe her. “In that case, you should be calling me Maria.” Both women smiled at each other.

Ashton inclined his head towards Melissa indicating that he wanted a cup of coffee as well. He gave her a very formal smile and Melissa nodded back to him before she passed through Kane’s office door and into the coffee bar/lobby that was right out front at the entrance of the executive floor.

McKenzie Technologies had merged with Smith Inc. just a few months ago. Ashton was still figuring out his way around the building and with the new workers he inherited in the merger. He had brought his own employees too, of course, and most seemed to be doing fine—there was one or two that got fired—but the man himself was still feeling odd. It was easy to tell by his constant frown and uneasy glances.

The merger was an adjustment for all of us. Kane, who was a close friend of mine, had never had a business partner before. He was used to being the solo head honcho and calling all the shots for his business. Being business partners was new to him, but he was dealing with it well. Ash’s caution and serious nature seemed to reign Kane in some and Maria was full of good ideas and new ways to get things done.

Overall the merger was a good thing, but it did upend us all a bit and now we were talking about doing it again. It wasn’t something I was looking forward to, but it was a good idea.

I frowned, straighten my shirt cuffs so they looked perfect against the sleeves of my new navy jacket and found myself staring out the window again. I needed to go buy a new set of cufflinks. That would cheer me up. They were one of the few things I collected.

“I don’t know about this man, Kane.” Ash twirled his chair a bit and frowned at the room in general. “How do you know him again?”

Kane tapped the arm of his chair with his fingers forming a steady rhythm. “He’s the son of one of my golfing buddies and the brother of one of my employees.”

I groaned and rubbed my hands over my face. “Is he anything like Sloane?”

Sloane Keeley had an awkward past with Kane and his wife Reese. She and Reese used to be enemies; they got along better now, but Sloane was still kind of a stuck-up brat. She looked down on anyone who didn’t have the perfect wardrobe or shoes or anyone who didn’t come from money. I didn’t think I could stand having her brother in the office telling me my suit was off-fashion. Not that it was.

“Christian is nothing like Sloane,” Kane told me. “In fact, it’s hard to tell they are related. They don’t even look alike. Chris’s a bit of an odd duck—an inventor who doesn’t like social functions or, well, talking to anyone really.”

Ashton swiveled slightly his chair again. “So, why do we want him as a business partner if we can’t even talk to him?”

Kane leaned forward in his chair and smiled at the three of us. “I think the key words here are ‘genius inventor’. Christian can make anything: electrical, chemical, whatever. His business, if you can even call it that, consists of only five guys. So, it’s not going to be a big merger.”

Maria frowned. “So why not hire him as the new head of development?”

“I tired.” Kane shrugged. “He wouldn’t have it. He wants a full partnership at McKenzie Tech. He wants his say in the business, even if he doesn’t say much.”

Melissa came back in and handed out cups of coffee to each of us. I gave her a smile as I took mine. She was a good PA and a good work friend.

“Look, I have a good feeling about this.” Kane tapped on the arm of his chair again. “I think Christian is the future. Whatever he makes is going to be marketable. I want this business to keep floating and making as much as it can, and I know you all do too.”

“Of course,” Ash muttered before he took a sip of his coffee. “But, Kane, it’s not like we are doing badly. McKenzie Tech is making more than ever before. Isn’t that right, Ray?”

His question startled me, and I realized that I had zoned off again. Since I was the CFA and in charge of all money matters for the company, I should be paying attention. But honestly, my attention had been off for months. For some reason my job, that I used to love, was just not interesting me anymore. I was feeling depressed.

I straightened my shoulders a bit and sat up. “The company is doing fine, and I think all of our bank accounts reflect that.” I gave them a smile, but my joke seemed to fall flat—neither Kane or Ashton were the kind of men who joked about money. I frowned and pulled at my cuffs again. “But honestly, the tech world moves fast. If Christian Keeley can make something that will skyrocket us into a new tax bracket, then by all means let the weirdo in. There’s a large empty office area in the basement that would suit five nerdy guys perfectly.”

Kane raised his hand up to scratch his chin and looked thoughtfully. “I know you are being flippant, but that space is actually perfect. I’ve never moved anyone down there before because there are no windows and I would prefer this building to be a nice place to work—often nice means sunlight. Anyway, lets vote on this.”

Kane liked to have Melissa and I vote on company matters; our votes weren’t really deciding factors because we weren’t partners like Ash and Maria, but he liked our input. Job wise, I didn’t really care if we merged five more guys into the company. As far as my workload went, that was just another few lines of numbers to calculate and watch. It would be easy for my team to adjust.

But what would it be like to have another person at our meetings? Would Kane, Ashton and Maria adjust to another voice in their mists, even if it was a mostly quiet voice? Oh well, might as well see.
/>   “I’m for the merger,” I told them raising my hand.

Melissa nodded and did the same. Ashton followed, and somewhat reluctantly raised his hand. Maria raised her small hand boldly—giving Ash a glare for not being more decisive. He shrugged at her. Kane looked at us all and raised his hand as well. He held it up for a moment, before dropping it and giving us all a big grin.

“Very well, looks like this will be our next big adventure. Thank you all. I know it’s getting late in the day, so I will let you go.”

We all stood and collected our things. I hurried a bit, trying to avoid talking to Kane one on one. I knew I was absent minded lately and really, I didn’t want to talk about it. It’s hard to admit, even to a friend, that I might have done something stupid and it was haunting me.

Grabbing the few papers that I brought in and my coffee cup, I headed towards the door to Kane’s office and slipped out as Ashton and Maria were asking Kane about a nice restaurant in town. It was a good distraction for my food loving boss, and I was out of his sight before he even knew I was gone.

With large steps, I made it quickly down the executive floor hallway, past Maria’s new office and to the back of the building where my humble office was. It was the smallest of the rooms up here. As a tall man, you would think that I would mind, but I found that the lack of space didn’t bother me much. I didn’t need a couch in my office, and I loved the privacy. It was like having my own hidden corner in the executive tree house. No one walked by my office unless they were coming to see me. And people rarely did, so back here I could do anything I wanted.

  Chapter Three

  Ray

I locked my office door behind me and took a second to take off my suit jacket and hang it up. A sigh escaped my lips. I had a small wood-framed mirror hanging just to the side of my door; when I looked into it, I could see the dark circles that were under my eyes. The lack of sleep lately was getting to me. I really didn’t like it when things affected my looks, I know that is prideful but I’m handsome and vanity is something about myself that I accept.

I walked around my large oak desk and fell into my office chair, immediately putting my feet up on to the desktop and sitting back to try to relax. For a few minutes, I tried to pretend that I didn’t know what was bothering me. But I knew. I had made a dumb mistake and now I was missing her.

I glanced around my empty desk. People said that my office was sparse, just a few plants here and there and some nice paintings. I like to keep my personal life personal. So, I don’t keep pictures of my family on my desk—not that I have much family.

It was just my uncle Ronnie and me. My parents died in a plane crash when I was just a toddler. They were off on vacation to the Bahamas and had foolishly booked a flight on a small airline of poor reputation. Uncle Ronnie told me that my father was a sucker for a bargain and tried to pinch pennies as often as he could. The stupid plane had run out of gas and my dad’s gamble to save money hadn’t saved their lives.

I didn’t really remember my parents. I was too young when they died. So, I didn’t bother to keep pictures of them.

There were also no pictures of friends on my desk or knickknacks. I didn’t like clutter. And my hobbies were to risqué to advertise.

Pulling out my center desk drawer, I flipped through a few papers until I found my hidden treasure. The one photograph I kept in my office was a snapshot from a few months ago—me and the most beautiful woman I had ever met dancing at a fundraiser ball.

  Eileen.

In the snapshot I was in my best tux and she was in a long silver-sequin gown with her brown hair pulled up into an elaborate twist. Eileen was the perfect girl next-door. Well, perfect for me. She was a super tall woman at six-foot, with slim legs a mile long, perfect perky breasts and the face of an innocent angel. In the picture, she had a smile a mile wide. We both did.

And I had left her. Not really left since she was still one of my employees in the accounting department here and I saw her every so often, but I stopped calling when I realized that we weren’t compatible. Really, I should have never asked her out at all; that was my mistake. Sure, we liked the same movies, and shopping, and foods, but we didn’t mesh in the most important way—in the bedroom.

I’m a man with darker tastes. It was something that I realized quickly and had accepted about myself. Eileen was innocent, too innocent—something that I respected about her and hated at the same time.

I wanted her to beg me to touch her, to call me sir and do whatever I ordered. I wanted to put her on a leash, tie her up, and cuff her to the special restraints I had embedded in my bed posts. But she wasn’t the type; she wasn’t a pet. It was a realization that haunted me.

If I told Eileen everything that I wanted to do to her, she would probably spit in my face or cry harassment. She wasn’t the type to beg for more. She wanted polite sex with a polite husband, not a wild night tied up in leather straps and spanked till her ivory skin was raw.

My breath caught at that thought. I had never gotten to spank Eileen. The worst thing I did in our one night together was pull her hair a little. She wasn’t even down for that. But God, did I wish she was. The things I would do to her if she was just a little more open minded.

I smiled to myself thinking of the possibilities and letting a lazy hand drop down to the front of my slacks. My dick was semi-hard just looking at the snap-shot. That dress had hugged Eileen’s curves like it was made of liquid. We had danced together most of the night; our bodies pressed close together. My dick had been hard and dying to rub against her hips, but I stopped myself from rubbing on her and acted like the perfect gentleman.

And at the end of the night, I got a polite kiss goodbye.

  It was a huge disappointment.

The night I had wanted would have gone very differently. I leaned my head on the back of my leather chair, stared at the ceiling and imagined my perfect night with Eileen. This was something I did often these days; replaying the night of the ball in different ways with different dirty endings.

I daydreamt about dancing with Eileen again. Floating around the floor, our hands clasped on each other’s bodies as we waltzed, or her taunt stomach pressed up against mine as we tangoed with our legs intertwined.

My dick would get hard as it pressed into her body and I would hold it there boldly, letting her know that I wanted her desperately. And instead of blushing or pulling away, she would look into my eyes with desire in her gaze and smile.

Then Eileen would bite her lower lip and I would know that it was time to take our dance to a different room. In my fantasy, I’d take her hand and lead her away from the dance floor up to the hotel room I rented—a penthouse suite with views over the city.

Eileen would stand in front of the window looking out that the sea of lights, as I held back and enjoyed her figure. The lights for the suite would be dark to keep it romantic. All we would have is moonlight and the sight of her curves silhouetted against the view of the city would be too much for me.

“You’re so beautiful,” I’d tell her.

She would turn and look at me; her lips parting slightly. “Beautiful enough for you to make me yours?”

“Do you want to be mine?”

  “Yes.”

  “Then beg me.”

My good, innocent girl would be overcome with desire and she’d drop to her knees, sequin gown pooling onto the floor. The mirrored disks would catch the moonlight and throw small rainbows around the darkened room.

“Please, sir,” Eileen would beg, her voice barely a whisper. “I need you to take me and make me yours.”

My hands would be in her hair in a second. The silky brown strands twisted in my fingers and I’d pull her head up until her golden eyes met mine.

  “Take off your dress.”

I’d pull her up slightly, with my hand in her hair, and Eileen would stand. She’d reach her long arms behind her back, pull her zipper and let her dress fall to the floor. Then She’d stand before me in black thigh-high
stockings, a garter belt, a bustier, and a satin thong.

  “Perfect,” I’d tell her.

I’d pull her to me; my hands still wrapped into her hair and jerk her head up. She’d look up at me with hot eyes as I press my mouth to her lips and kiss her deeply. She’d lean into me begging with her body for more, then turning her head slightly so that my quick kisses fell onto her jawline and then her neck.

Pushing her towards the balcony, I’d kiss her and run my hands all over her body feeling the soft curves of her flesh; enjoying the swell of her hips, the roundness of her ass, and the firmness of her breasts.

“I want you on the balcony,” I’d tell her.

  “Yes, sir.”

We’d stumble out into the cool air, high above the city and shed our clothes. I’d watch as goosebumps covered her ivory skin, letting me know how she felt being exposed for all the world to see—excited. Her nipples would be hard and ready for me to taste.

Pushing her up against the railing of the balcony, I’d burry my head in her breasts, feeling the curve of them, massaging them, and licking her pert nipples. Eileen would lean back and open her legs so I could stand in between them. She’d whimper and push her breasts into my face, begging me for more.

“Take me. Take me please, sir!”

I’d spin her around and position her stomach over the railing of the balcony, pull down her thong and look greedily at her perfect pussy. She’d be so wet and ready for me. She’d be turned on by fucking out in the open and wondering if anyone was watching.

I’d take my rock-hard length in my hand and trace my dickhead up and down her folds, wetting myself with her juices. Teasing her and making her hips buck back into mine as her body begs for my dick and the release only I can bring her.

Then, when I think she is desperate enough, I would sink my shaft into her hot, wet pussy and push in until I fill her up and stretched her pussy walls out in the most pleasurable way. Dick thrust deep into her, I’d push Eileen into the railing more, until her breasts went over the edge and were exposed to the whole city—should anyone be watching us.
