  Acknowledgments

I am grateful to the many talented people who brought their expertise to this book. Nicole Abadee assessed the manuscript with her fastidious eye before Roz Hopkins and Natalie Winter of Captain Honey helped me self-publish the first edition, which had a short but happy life.

My wonderful agent, Greg Messina of Linwood Messina Literary Agency, didn’t flinch when I told him, “If you’re sending this manuscript out, I’m only interested in Hay House.” I am indebted to him for the secret efforts agents make without any guarantee of an outcome, but which brought us this edition. It reminds me that people who work with authors do it because they love books. And that weirdly gives me hope for all of humanity.

Thanks to the team at Hay House, including Patricia Gift for saying YES, Leon Nacson of Hay House Australia for breakfasts and banter, Anne Barthel for her brilliant editorial input which reshaped and improved this book, Marlene Robinson, the marketing team, and all those who have touched this book in ways both apparent and invisible. You have all indelibly left your heart prints here. Thank you for your care, curation, and confidence in Your Story.

  A Few Things about Me

I’ve written nine books in just about every genre (literary and commercial fiction, self-help, narrative nonfiction, and memoir, but not crime fiction or erotica—yet). Some have been international and #1 Amazon bestsellers.

My books have sold over 650,000 copies worldwide and have been translated into different languages, including Czechoslovakian, where my name was changed to Fedlerova, and Korean, in which I couldn’t work out where my name was on the cover.

I am a speaker, writing mentor, and writing retreat leader. Each year I take a group of women to Fiji, Bali, or Tuscany to learn the craft and develop the consciousness for writing. See www.joannefedlerwritingretreats.com for details.

Through my WINGS program (Words Inspire, Nourish and Grow the Spirit), I run a series of Author Liftoff workshops for aspiring authors as well as a free seven-day writing challenge and my eight-week online Author Awakening Adventure: www.authorawakening.com.

This book is the culmination of 10 years of writing and teaching others to write. I hope it offers you many ways into your story. To get in touch and be on my mailing list for special offers, you can e-mail my team at [email protected].

If you’d like to download the workbook I’ve created as an accompaniment to this book, please go to www.joannefedleryourstory.com.
