One and Thirty
The last figure clinging on the calendar
Am I happy getting far?
Life is not fair, I have to live with it
I gave my best shot, what did I get?
Regrets too many pushed me to be unhappy
Will the bitter memories be better someday?
I have to survive for the love of my child
Joy of my life sent from heaven’s glide
How can I stop the pain that lingers within?
When the world keeps thundering me with heavy rain
Do I have a chance to correct the wrong?
When the window is closed, is there an open throng?
Let me be judged at the end of the journey
For now, help me to be happy.
Heartaches
Where can we go from here?
Do we have a place somewhere?
Are we going to suffer even more?
Is life going to bury us to the core?
Do I have to embrace the agony in order to stay?
Do I have to play along of his play?
Do I have to swallow the bitterness ‘till life ends?
Do I have to let the tears fall ‘till fate bends?
Must I sink to the deep mire for I’ve no choice?
Must I become a puppet and hide my voice?
Must I deny myself in order to have a place?
Must I bow down and obey for I’ve no case?
Why life is hard on me?
Where did I go wrong to suffer this way?
Warm Christmas
How warm could it be?
When people greet and wish you this happy day
It can humble down a tough heart to a smile
It fires the cold blood into beguile
So much laughter and love being shared
Under the Christmas tree, gifts are gathered
Food are cooked for the Noche Buena
Dining table is prepared for the night’s gala
Everybody is excited for the clock to tick
Singing carols and exchanging wishes as midnight click
Everyone is waiting for the giving of gifts
The children’s presents, they shake it and sniff
Everybody’s happy for a beautiful Christmas Day
Celebrating Jesus’ birthday is important to the family.
Rain, Go away
Raindrops tick the roof heavily
Flooded gutters flow earnestly
Wet roads stir the mud
Wonderful view around becomes sad
It is dark and gloomy
It is cold and dreary
The sun is block by heavy clouds
The thunder roars, oh, so loud
Lightning strikes as if it cracks the sky
Nature’s whip to earth as reply
People are helpless and unhappy
Bad weather contributes misery
Oh dear rainbow, where are you?
Display your magical beauty to let the rain go.
Full moon
Oh moon, you shine in the pitches of dark
Your rounded face mysteriously embark
The ravishing seas dried up in you
As tranquility shows its brilliant view
Your total brightness implores romance
Tired and unhappy soul you give a chance
Your stillness calms the troubled world
The sparkling stars of hope are your hood
You magnetize the lovers into love and passion
Your brilliance adds the depth of the emotion
The tantalizing wide eyes admired your full-bodied beauty
You let the caged feelings to set free
You give peace and rest to the weary people
Happiness is the intention you give to all.
Lucky Girl
Little girl’s cry echoed from a distant space
To grant her wish of His unconditional love and grace
Listen to her faith and soft heart in wonder
She never gives up yet patient to wait the answer
He gave her a gift that envied everybody
Bore a healthy boy with lustre beauty
He tested her steadfastness and courage
Heartaches, troubles and pains that’s beyond her knowledge
She showed unshakable spirit and true love uncovered
Pure and true heart with deep perseverance revealed
Worthy of every penny of chance He meted on her
Thankful and happy she will be forever
Regretted not, though she’s paying the price
She’s a valued person and a real wealthy girl in His eyes.
Once Love
Had I not beg for love?
Like a crazy fallen dove
You once said; you’re no good for me
Was I not too pretty?
I thought you like me a little bit
Were you afraid to have my heart and break it?
You were such an admirable gentleman
Few girls I knew had fallen’ in your hand
I tried to be loving and caring for you
In the hope that you would love me too
Though, it hadn’t flourished into a relationship
Regretted have I not, for you had given me friendship
I did not blame you for not loving me
Indeed, I admired your honesty in every way
I was hurt but not entirely broken
When you rejected me, back then.
Lady Madeleine
She went to town one day
Her ethereal beauty outshined her way
She smiled and said, “hi” to everyone she passed by
Her graceful walk was a trademark to comply
Men adored this amiable lady of the mansion
Ladies wished to be in her shoes, an illusion
She crossed the street and bumped unto me
Astound she was, this bright- eyed lady
“Mary, come dinner with me”, she said
I shook my head as I plead
“Worry not, my husband is not at home”, she uttered
She passed by me and went to shopping spread
Afterwards, I trek lazily to the house where she lived
Unfortunately, I found her dead in her own bed.
Rivers End
Into the sea, all rivers run
The pit stop of fresh water be gone
It’s a long journey towards the busy sea
Learned the dried up and the flow of its agony
Came from the different springs and streams
Culled the strong forces to teem the dreams
The mountains and the valleys give its way
Help you accomplished the desired destiny
Every detours and roadblocks posed on you
You never stopped and chose to continue
Your perseverance and unshakable determination
Earned you a good and admirable reputation
Into the sea, you always end
Your home, the Heaven’s send.
Amber Dear
In the deep you slept thousand of years
You are the treasure that Baltic bears
Resin of Pine trees provides your name
Was played in the hands of the river’s game
Who brought you to the journey’s end
Which became your home until the storm gave you in
On the shore, you laid waiting for the lucky man
Who picked you up and brought you to his homeland
He gave me you and made me fabulous
Your mysterious quality everybody was curious
You were named the gold of the bounty sea
Many went after looking for your family
But you my dear, will stay with me
As a charm, added to my simple beauty.
The Blind Man
When the blind man cries
There are tears from the dead eyes
It must b
e sad being alone
In the dark world he is unknown
He sits at the sidewalk of the busy street
Listening the sound of the cars and passing feet
He sings a melancholic song out from his heart
Dedicated to his long lost sweetheart
His own tune and lyrics begging for mercy
To chance the miracle of three days to see
Humbly, he is not asking for more
Just to brighten that closed door
For he wants to see the world for a forever goodbye
In the warm arms of his beloved Lorelei.
The Redhead
I cross the street as fast as my feet can go
To stop my father from chasing a woman with a weird hairdo
They’re both in a hurry and too quick for my speed
Her swaying hips convince him to take the lead
He catches up with his assured steps
Along the noisy, crowded streets
He grabs her arm like lovers do
It seems like she likes it too
My heart breaks for my mother’s sake
This is too hard for her to take
I see them getting in a coffee shop
Determined I am to make a haste stop
I have to see them both, now or never
Goodness Gracious! The redhead is my mother.
Mama, I love you
Three jobs you took to make us survive
To a single mom like you, must be hard
Haggard and tired, you came home each night
Drained and skinny, you can’t even sleep right
You look at the old sofa as your comfort
Should be in the bedroom but fall short
You sleep there squeezing yourself to fit
In a cold night without a heat
I cover you with a thick blanket to give you warm
For father no longer here to lend you an arm
My tears fall for I feel sorry for you
I want to help but too young to do so
I can only cook you breakfast to make you feel new
And give you a kiss and whisper, “Mama, I love you.”
One Unhappy Day
The heavy, monstrous clouds hovering over the green, happy plain
To wreck the day topping the misery of the lonesome cabin
Threatened the tranquility of the unblemished natural beauty
When the unhesitant giant thunder roared its anger loudly
And the willing rain waiting the beckon to rapture its spray
Formed in the sky with collected mass of dark energy
To spoil the day of this silent, beautiful, little place
Where I once stayed during my derailed and unhappy days
The safe haven that I wanted to take it again
To be alone and ponder over things that render me pain
Yet, the Mighty Sky denied me of the scenery I wanted to see
Which could uplift my spirit and shook the bad day away
Disappointed I was, I trod back to where I’m from
My troubled heart longing for comfort to come.
Be Home
Your radiant shade penetrates my lonely, yearning soul
When the darkness dominated the years of my fall
The light finally came that colours my dim imperfection
Provide me courage that begets the new aspiration
To revive once again the life that besets the turn
Playing the parts of the rainbow when I was born
Clothed in astounding beauty where I once belong
I’m now tracing back to the home I so much long
In the gushes of river and the waving of trees
Were the lullabies of my sound sleep with the bees
Underneath the shed of the moonless yet glittering sky
Where the happy fireflies danced as they passed by
Would illuminate my breaking free from the chaotic city
Where I have a mental puzzle and lived in misery.
Freedom
What does freedom mean?
Is it fighting with a sword or just a pen?
Is it the limitless choice of the powerful will?
Is it exercising rights above the sliding hill?
Is it the absence of the physical abuse?
Is it the misunderstanding of life we often confused?
Is it being free from degrading insults?
Is it the punishment of the blaming faults?
Is it moving around without a choking leash?
Is it a lovely reward from heaven’s bliss?
Is it disentanglement of poverty and pain?
Is it the joy of dried heart when it rains?
Is it the filled stomach to live the day?
Is this the true meaning of life’s identity?
Crossing Roads
Where does this road led to? To inner self I asked
When the brand new day emerges in the dusk
Street sign banished from my keen sight
It was here, I was surely right
But my heart pointed the other way
The journey towards my desired destiny
Is it here or there? I’m in doubt
My faith I must ask for my mind is out
Under the hood of unhappy skies, it’s foggy
I decided of only not what eyes can see
But let the congregated inner spirit shed the light
And believe it could emanate the bright
I came to choose the direction of the lofty call
At the end, I discovered I wasn’t lost at all.
The Sea
Your calmness soothes the troubled soul
The vastness of your horizon reflects the sky so tall
Your world in deep is the paradise to treasure
Mysterious yet admired by its grandeur
Your bounty has provide food on land
Living creatures underneath caught by the fishermen
You are happy to give for the labour they toil
The anger and wrath you render if they spoil
The waves are your unbeaten powers to judge the day
The strong wind and the storm make you wild and unhappy
Good weather and a nice day make you sound and still
People indulge its beauty to travel on ships or sail
Everything that floats are the trimmings of your face
This water world is your kingdom and dwelling place.
