Dream Seeker (The Dream Catcher Series Book 3) Page 10

Death will only remain if you allow it.

They repeat the phrase and I feel myself growing frustrated. I don’t understand what they are trying to tell me.

“I don’t understand,” I scream, in an angry rage.

Why can’t I find the answers I need? I know that I am upset, maybe I am not thinking clearly.

Cameron moves for the first time in hours. He steps toward me and grabs my hands. I look into his eyes and know that he is here for me.

“Adylin, listen to what they are saying. Feel it in your soul. This is what you do. I have watched you call on your magic after the ancestors come to you. Try again,” he urges.

My heart swells with pride as Cameron is leading me to my answers. Maybe he doesn’t possess the magic that I do, but he is still powerful in his own way.

“I love you,” I say to Cameron, before I begin to draw in my magic.

I close my eyes and feel my power beginning to rise. The heat from the sparks ignites my blood and I can feel my body shaking from the magic building.

“Tell me again, ancestors. What can I do?” I call out again.

Adylin, you must find death and wake it once more.

Then, as if a light has been turned on or a fog cleared, the clarity of what my ancestors are telling me finally makes sense to me.

Slowly opening my eyes, I look at Cameron who is watching me with fascination.

“I understand what they need me to do,” I say, hope filling me.

  “What is it?” Cameron asks.

“I have to find a way to bring Ashton back from death,” I say, a smile slightly curving my lips.

And, just like that, I am sparked with a power stronger than anything I have ever felt in my life before. The dark magic witches tried to kill me, destroy the world, and they took Ashton from me.

They keep trying to take everything I care for, but they keep forgetting one thing; I am the most powerful magical being alive.

I know what I have to do, and it’s not going to be easy. But, in life, nothing ever worth having is easy to obtain.

I will stop the dark magic witches and bring Ashton back. It will all end now.
