“You better,” Roz gritted, instead talking sense into him, before focusing on Rye. “And baby girl, I don’t know what to tell you about your mama and all that bullshit. All I know is that we’re family, so you’ll always have us. And if that shit don’t sit right in your spirit, then say fuck it. Mama and all.”

“Be still, stop running,” Jaylen gritted, as held her hips tightly, while standing in the middle of a small bathroom.
“Nigga, aint nobody running,” Rye gritted, as she placed her palms flat on the floor, before throwing her ass back at him.
His jaw dropped as his head fell back. “Aww fuck. Damn, girl.” Watching her fat ass bounce against his thighs was driving him crazy.
Seductively, Rye stroked her own clit, while he rammed himself deep inside.
“Ooh, yeah, Jaylen, fuck me. Fuck meee,” she crooned as her toes curled.
Before they knew it, she’d backed him up against the wall, while she fucked him. She was literally making her booty jump, as he swished in and out of her.
“Uh, yeah, umm yessss,” she purred, as she released on his dick.
“Shiiiiiit,” he huffed out and his dick jerked within her.
Rye giggled as she stood upright, while Jaylen struggled to catch his bearings. “You wouldn’t be out of breath if you’d stop running.”
“Shut up.” He popped her ass.
She stuck her tongue out at him, as they watched each other in the vanity mirror. They kidded back and forth, while using a towel and soap to clean themselves. They then readjusted their clothes, before exiting the bathroom.
As Rye wore a simple sundress, she twisted in front of Jaylen, drawing his attention to her round backside. He couldn’t help clutching it.
“Boy, stop,” she giggled, before stepping away from him. She headed to the kitchen, while Jaylen went to go join Little Jah in the backyard. “Damn, it smells good in here. What did you end up cooking?” Rye questioned Josairah, as she tipped into her kitchen.
Josairah narrowed her eyes. “So, you just want me to pretend that you just didn’t finish fucking in my bathroom, bitch?”
Rye rubbed the back of her neck. “Well, you know, uh, these pregnancy hormones are off the chain.”
Josairah snickered sneakily. “Tell me about it. It’s been three times a day, minimum.”
Rye shook her head with a grin. “So, what did you cook?”
“We trying to keep it healthy around here, so, it’s grilled tilapia, shrimp salad, and baked crab cakes.”
Rye’s mouth watered. “Well, damn. That sounds delicious. Break me off a piece of a crab cake.”
“Here, greedy ass,” Josairah laughed, and handed Rye a piece of food.
Giving no regards to the hot temperature, Rye gobbled the crab cake up. “Oh my fucking God,” she moaned. “This is sooo good. You gotta give me the recipe.”
“Hell, I didn’t make them. Auntie Raven has a chef that comes by at least twice a week. He makes loads of them for her, and she freezes whatever is left for me and whoever else wants some,” Josairah explained.
Rye smirked. “Auntie Raven? Aint that Mama Raven to you? You don’t screw her son every night.”
Josairah gave her the finger. “Well, she was auntie before that, so it’s already been established.”
“And how was that? With yall growing up together and all. They were cool about yall spending nights near each other?”
“Nope,” Josairah popped her lips. “We didn’t tell them. Hell, they didn’t know, until after I had Jhyshun.”
Rye arched a brow. “Wait, what?”
“Yep. Me and Jah started seeing each other my senior year. It was my idea to keep it a secret. Honestly, I just liked the in-house dick. I could spend a night with Jhyrah and fuck Jah’s brains out, without anyone knowing. We hid everything, until I was away at college. That’s when I got pregnant, but shit got crazy. Jah was cheating, I found out, dumped him, and accidently told my daddy that the baby was for Wale’s cousin. The truth didn’t come out ‘til after I had Jhyshun.”
“Wait, how did you accidently tell your daddy something?”
“Girl…it’s complicated. Basically, my mama walked in on me taking a pregnancy test. She ran and told my daddy that I was pregnant. My daddy was pissed, I mean, throwing shit around, all that. At the time I didn’t want to further piss him off by telling him that I’d been fucking Jah behind his back. Under his parents’ roof and shit, so I lied. I blurted a name, thinking my daddy wouldn’t know him, but he did. And that created a whole shit storm. Literally. That’s when I learned my lesson about lying.”
“Damn, Josairah, that was something else, but I can see why you was scared to tell your daddy. I’ve heard stories. They say his fine ass is something serious in the streets.”
Josairah rolled her eyes. “Oh, God, not you too.”
“What? I’m just saying. Your daddy is the truth.”
“Whatever,” Josairah giggled, as someone rang the doorbell. “Shit, let me go answer that.”
Rye nodded and stole another piece of crab cake the minute Josairah left the room. Moments later, Josairah returned with Amir Junior following closely behind.
“Aye, what’s up? How you doing?” Amir greeted Rye.
“I’m fine, and you?”
“I’m good, I’m good. Let me go out back, cause it’s too many babies up in here,” he teased them both.
“Boy, bye,” Josairah waved him off, as he exited out of the sliding patio door, which led to the backyard.
“Amir is that friend that comes around every blue moon. That producer life must be a muthafucka,” Rye commented.
Amir was Jaylen’s close friend, but always seemed too busy to really hang. Rye figured that a handsome guy like him with that amount of fame, had the world at his fingertips, and didn’t have time to sit in one spot for too long.
Josairah began fixing she and Rye’s plates. “Yeah, he does stay busy.”
“That’s probably why he’s still single. Cause I know he has no problem pulling the something, with his cute ass. When I first met him, I thought that he was wearing contacts. He has some pretty eyes. One of my girls is always asking about him.”
“Yeah, he’s handsome, but nah, I think he’s still single because he’s still stuck on Key.”
Rye arched both brows. “Key who?”
“Your niece Keyasia,” Josairah clarified.
“No,” Rye gasped. “Girl, when did that happen?”
“They were together right before she got with Wale. He cheated. She was in her feelings, but honestly, I think that she would’ve gone back eventually had Wale not come along. I think Amir felt that too, but Wale killed all them dreams.”
“Damn, that’s crazy. So, he’s a game player, huh?”
Josairah pondered on it. “Hmm, I wouldn’t say that---”
“Damn, that food smells good,” Jah unintentionally interrupted as he, Jaylen, and Amir stepped into the kitchen.
Josairah lifted her head. “Are yall hungry?”
All three guys nodded, and she proceeded to fix their plates. Everyone then sat at the kitchen’s nook and dug in. It was no surprise to neither Rye or Josairah when the guys later announced that they were stepping out for a while. It was a Friday night, and regardless if they were hosting an invent or not, Jah and Jaylen were usually out on the scene. So, after dinner Josairah and Rye found themselves in the kitchen alone.
“Anyway,” Rye cleared her throat. “Back to what we were discussing earlier. Was Amir dogging Key out or---”
“I mean, he violated without a doubt, but hell, back then I used to think that Key was cheating on him. I think most of us did. She was doing the whole Instagram modeling thing, which meant that she did a lot of flirting and traveling. I think that made Amir insecure, which probably led to him cheating. Now, I don’t think that his actions were cool, especially since he ended up making a baby, but I can see how it all got there. I remember him constantly questioning me abou
t her. Like on some stalker shit. He’d trip about Key doing so many gigs and being chummy with all those rappers. It was too much, and his boys never let him forget it. I told Key about it and she just said that he needed to stop being so insecure. I thought she didn’t care until that girl came up pregnant. She had a mini-breakdown in front me, but acted like it never happened the next day. Her and Amir broke up but got back together. It was never the same, though. Key couldn’t accept that baby and would say the meanest shit about her. Personally, I didn’t blame her for how she felt. An outside kid is a hard pill to swallow. Amir kept hoping that her attitude would change, but it didn’t. Eventually, Amir messed with his BM again, and that was all she wrote for him and Keyasia.”
Rye was listening intently. “Okay, so, I take it that you don’t think cheating is a deal breaker.”
Josairah shrugged. “It just depends, honestly. And I don’t wanna sound like I’m defending Amir’s actions. I just saw things from both ends. I see how Amir is still suffering and Key is living her best life. I think everybody looks at it like he broke her heart and I just see it differently.”
Rye narrowed her eyes. “You think Amir loved Keyasia more than she loved him?”
Josairah slowly nodded. “After seeing her with Wale and how she switched things up when he didn’t like something, I knew there was a difference. She didn’t compromise with Amir because she didn’t care enough to do so. Wale could cheat tomorrow, and she’d be hurt. She’d cry. She’d probably even cut him, but she wouldn’t leave him…for good. They’d eventually work it out.”
“Yeah, but maybe it’s because they have Corian together. I heard that changes things.”
“Nah, Key was crazy about Wale way before Corian was thought about. Trust me.”
Rye nodded. “Let me ask you something.”
“What’s up?”
“You don’t be feeling weird about being with Jah? Like, I mean, he’s well known. Highly sought after, does club promoting on the side, and is about to enter the NBA draft. That’s a recipe for a nigga with a lot of hoes. That don’t cross your mind when he leaves you at home?”
Josairah scratched her forehead. “Girl, honestly, me and Jah have been through some things. Those things have changed us. We don’t look at life and relationships like most people. But before the changes, Jah definitely had fuck-nigga tendencies. Me…I had been apprehensive from the start. I didn’t trust him with my heart, but he was persistent. So, he reeled my ass in, only to eventually fuck up. It hurt like hell, and that was a dark time for me. And then I realized how to handle a nigga like Jah. The worst thing you can do is become a little cry baby, begging him to do right by you. That’ll just make him hate coming around you and make the next bitch seem more appealing. I got his full attention once I dusted that hurt off and did me. I guess that he needed to see how life would be without me and watch me be on the next nigga’s arm. So, what I believe works for us is me keeping him on his toes. I try my best to have my own interests, money, and slickly remind him here and there that me being with him is a choice. He’s not my only option.”
Rye nodded as she poked out her bottom lip. “You think he cheats now?”
Josairah shook her head, as she stared into outer space. “I honestly don’t know. I see it like this. I enjoy my life with him. We love each other, and he makes me happy. Therefore, I have no reason to look for anything and nothing is ever brought to my attention. He answers whenever I call. He’s always there when I need him. The nigga always wants to fuck, so I don’t question anything. If any of that switches up, then I might try to find out why.”
“Would you leave, if you found out that he did?”
“Girl, I don’t know. A few years ago, I would’ve said yeah with no hesitation. Now, we’re about to have a second baby in about two months. We’ve opened a few businesses together. That boy has literally become my best friend. I tell him everything. Like I really couldn’t imagine my life without him. So, I don’t know what I’d do. I know that I wouldn’t make it easy for him…but leaving him forever? I don’t know about all that. He’s gonna be my husband one day. I’m sure of it, so the fuck up would have to be super colossal for me to let his ass go. Cause the way he fucks me---”
“Okay, okay.” Rye placed up palm. “TMI, bitch. TMI.”
Josairah giggled. “I’m just saying. But why do you ask? You scared that Jaylen’s gonna fuck up?”
Rye swallowed hard. “It crosses my mind sometimes…well, a lot, lately. And I’ve never been here before. Like, I really feel like I love him. I haven’t told him, but that’s what I feel. So, him hurting me is a very real possibility. Then I got pregnant so quick. I think about the fact that he’s extremely close to my daddy. That all makes me consider the fact that he may be doing certain things with me out of pure obligation. Hell, he has plenty of options. So, why me, of all people?”
“Girl,” Josairah sucked her teeth. “That’s some shit in your head, clearly. Jaylen is cool as hell, but I don’t care how close he is to Ray-Ray. Shit, fuck close. Ray-Ray is that man’s pawpaw. Blood couldn’t make them any closer. Still, even that wouldn’t make Jaylen do something he doesn’t want to. He’s not made like that. He really fucks with you, but I understand your fears. Trust me. All I can tell you is that don’t ever allow yourself to become his footstool. Love him freely and unconditionally. Give it your all. And if that doesn’t work, then you can walk away, knowing that he wasn’t the one, because you did what you were supposed to. Just remember…my mama said that there’s always sunshine, even after heartbreak.”
Chapter 26
Rye was tossing and turning in bed, as the night tipped by. She wanted to attribute her anxiousness to the fact that her salon’s grand opening was rapidly approaching, but deep down, she knew better. Glancing at the clock on the nightstand, she saw that it was four in the morning. Even when hosting at a club, Jaylen wouldn’t stay out this late, unless there were some extenuating circumstances. Even then, he’d at least call.
Grabbing her cell, she mumbled to herself. “Let me see where the fuck this nigga at.” She sat listening to his phone continuously ring. After the third try, she grew frustrated and dialed up Josairah’s number. Maybe she could call Jah’s phone and they could cuss those niggas out together.
“Hello?” Josairah breathed into the phone. “Stop,” she whispered.
Rye scrunched her face. “Girl, what you doing over there?”
“Girl,” Josairah huffed, sounding like somebody was fucking her. “This…this uh…this…”
Rye impatiently sucked her teeth. “Have you talked to Jah, yet? Cause Jaylen aint answering his phone.”
“Jah…Jah came…came home a few hours ago. You…you want him to call Jaylen for you?”
“Nah, that’s okay. I’ma let you finish getting dicked-down, bitch,” Rye was about to end the call.
“But if…if you wanna know…Jah left…Jaylen and Amir at Onyx.”
Rye heard something that sounded like skin getting slapped.
“Stop that snitching shit,” Jah uttered in the background, before the call was ended.
Without thinking twice about it, Rye sprang out of bed, and headed to the closet. “This nigga don’t know who the fuck he’s dealing with,” she mumbled to herself, as she sifted through her clothes. “But he’s gonna learn tonight.”
***
Wearing a sheer black jacket which resembled a mini dress, Rye was able to conceal her belly. Rocking stilettos, while her hair flowed down her back, she appeared club ready. Therefore, she had no trouble entering Onyx, which was a popular strip club. It was five in the morning, but there were still several people there. In fact, the crowd was thick, as Rye noticed a few celebrities in various sections.
Taking her time, she strolled through the club, searching for Jaylen. She wasn’t leaving until she’d searched every inch of that club. Even if she had to finesse her way into the V.I.P. rooms, she was willing. Frustration was beginning to set in, until she spotted Jaylen
in a section with Amir, drinking directly from a gold bottle.
Stepping closer, Rye spotted some broad with fire red hair wrapping her arms around Jaylen’s waist. Admittedly, the bitch was pretty, resembling a thin Rhianna. To anyone casually looking, they’d probably assume that she was Jaylen’s girl, because ole girl was holding on for dear life. The chick wore itty bitty high-waisted shorts along with a small halter top and was rocking one of somebody’s long chain around her neck. Her little hips were sharp, standing out on her petite sexy frame. There was a glazed look in her eyes as she appeared wasted. Grabbing Jaylen’s chin, she pulled his head down, and spoke into his ear.
Rye had seen enough, as she marched over. Jaylen never saw her coming, as she slapped the bottle out of his hand. “The fuck are you doing with this bitch?!”
Jaylen shook his head, reacting to the liquor splashing in his face. Before he could focus on anything, she slapped the spit out of his mouth. He drunkenly stumbled back a few feet. All his boys immediately recognized Rye and decided to mind their business.
“The fuck is wrong with you?” he growled, once he caught his balance.
“Uh, excuse you,” the red head scoffed. “You just splashed that liquor in my fucking face.”
Rye whipped her head around. “Bitch, do it look like I give a fuck?!”
The girl stepped up, and Amir Junior shot to his feet. Immediately, he stepped between them. “Nah, Randi, chill out. You don’t want them problems in your life. Trust me. Her whole family would be on your ass.”
“Yeah, Randi chill out,” Rye taunted. “Before I bash your fucking head in with one of these bottles.” She turned to face Jaylen and curled her lips. “Bring your ass on,” she growled, as she gripped his shirt.
They traveled through the club with her gripping his shirt. He attempted to pull away from her grasp a few times, but soon realized that the only way he’d get away was to rip his three-thousand-dollar shirt.
Seething mad, she practically dragged him back to her car. Sluggishly, he eased into the passenger’s seat, while struggling to keep his eyes open. After hopping in on the driver’s side, she skirted out of the lot.
