"You’re beautiful,” he said.
She moved her hands gingerly up, taking off his own shirt. He tensed, but then, he felt her hands against his rippling chest and muscle.
“That makes two of us,” she said to him.
He groaned, feeling the wafting feeling of excitement as she continued to tease him. He started to moan out loud, feeling her hands move towards his nipples, teasing the very edge of his. His cock was so hard in his pants he could barely take it, and then, Alana pulled back and smiled.
"You really want this, don’t you?”
"Yes. Sorry, it's my animal instincts. I can’t get enough of you.”
"Well, you’re welcome to have it,” she said.
He then moved his lips to her breasts, teasing each of the nipples and sucking on them. As she felt this, she started to moan, and Travis could feel all those sounds vibrating towards his cock. He was practically jutting at her entrance, begging to slide all the way into her, and as he moved downwards, his hands moved towards her pants and panties, pulling them off like they were nothing. She blushed, but Travis could see just how wet and eager she was.
He moaned at the sight, noticing that she was definitely just as interested as he was. He started to move his hands up, pressing against her clit and pushing his fingers in and out in a soft, sensual manner. She shivered, crying out in pleasure as he did this. She watched as he started to press his hands a bit faster. He could see the excitement growing on her face, the need in her body as he started to push faster and faster. He could feel the aching desire for her as he did this, and then, after a brief moment or so, he moved his hands away, pressing his fingers to his mouth and licking the juices. He watched as she gasped, turning bright red as she watched the whole spectacle.
"You taste great,’ he told her with a husky voice.
She moaned in response, but Travis couldn’t take this anymore. He pulled his pants down, his cock hard, and he soon pulled her into his arms. He settled her down on his cock, and as he held her there she cried out in pleasure, pushing her body against his own. He probably felt like a giant wall to her, since she was held like it was nothing by his hands. Travis watched as she cried out, sinking all the way down onto his cock. After a brief moment, Alana tensed up, looking at him with surprise and shock.
“This feels... good,” she said.
“Great. I'm glad that it does. I want you to feel good,” he said with a purr.
She moaned as she started to feel him all the way inside, her pussy taking in his cock as it fit perfectly. Travis groaned as he felt her tight wetness. That was when Alana started to move up and down against him, crying out loud in pleasure as she started to ride him.
Travis held her there, bracing her against his body, and Alana started to cry out, whimpering in pleasure as he did this. Everything about this was setting Travis on fire. He started to hold her a bit closer, pressing as deep as he could into her. She was crying against him, and he couldn't stop. He was practically being sucked in by her pussy, enjoying the sensations of it.
He laid her down again, thrusting into her. The two of them looked at one another, both of them enjoying the way that the other looked. Travis could feel he was close because he couldn't get enough of her. When he continued to thrust, he noticed Alana was looking at him with a smile.
"Fuck, this feels amazing,” she said.
"You like it, babe?”
"Yeah. I really do like it. I fucking love everything about this,” she said.
He started to thrust in deeper, faster, and without stopping. After a few more moments, he thrust all the way in, groaning, and he soon felt Alana meeting his thrusts too. Together, both of them thrust, experiencing the intense pleasure together. After a brief moment or so Travis pressed his lips against Alana’s, kissing her as he thrust in deep. They both cried out loud, and Travis knew at this point, that they were spent.
He came hard inside her, holding her and groaning. She squeezed him between her legs, holding herself there as she came hard as well. The two of them stayed like that, not ending the experience for the other, and it was then that, after a few more thrusts, he pulled out of her, collapsing next to her on the bed. She looked at him, and Travis smiled, closing his eyes.
“That was amazing,” he said.
“Sure was. I'm glad that... we were able to do this,” she said to him.
“I am too,” he replied.
The two of them stayed like that for what seemed to be forever, both of them enjoying the feeling of the other person’s presence. She seemed happy, and Travis, for the first time in a long time, didn’t feel scared for the future.
He was the alpha, sure, and he was the one who would lead the clan to success, but now that he had a mate, someone that he could rely on no matter what, everything felt so damn right. Travis knew for a fact that he was happier than ever before and ready to see where the future would take them.
“I love you Alana. And I'll protect you no matter what the challenges may be, no matter who tries to hurt us,’ he said.
She curled up next to him, smiling at him with a warm grin.
"Yep, I do want that,” she said.
He held her there, stroking her hair and feeling ready for whatever the hell came at them. He would protect her, and he knew that she could rely on him until the end of time.
Chapter 13
Alana laid there, and for the first time in a long time, she felt at ease. Feeling warm and happy, curled up next to Travis, she could feel the feelings of relief within her. She took a deep breath, a bit curious about something on her mind.
“By the way Travis. Are you okay with me staying here with you?” she asked.
She really wanted to, and judging by the smile on Travis’ face, he seemed alright with that.
“I figured since you are my mate, you’d want to,” he said.
She beamed, feeling happy about that.
"You’re right. I am your mate. And I want to do that. I don't want to live without you, if that’s okay.”
“That’s totally fine. Honestly, all of us have small houses out from the main place that we go to, and it’s a place where we are supposed to go if we need some space, or if we end up finding a mate. For the other guys, I don't think they will use theirs for a bit, but we can live out here and build on it, if you want. You can keep your house too if that’s what you feel works for you,” he said.
She nodded, taking that in. “I do want to keep my place, but I also want to live with you. If that makes sense,” she said.
"Well, you’re more than welcome to do that,” he told her with a smile.
She leaned in, kissing him passionately.
“So we are mates... right? Do I become a shifter like you?”
“If you want. But, as a mate the two of us are bound by fate to be together, and eventually we can have children, but that doesn’t have to be immediately,” he said.
She sighed in relief. “Thank God, because I don’t think I'll be ready for that anytime soon. Let’s get our shit together before we consider that,” she said.
“Can do,” he replied with a chuckle.
That’s when it all began. Alana moved into the small cabin with Travis, which they soon expanded upon and turned into a house. Thanks to Travis’s ability to build items, they had a small but substantial cottage in a couple of months. Alana helped whenever she could, but she also spent her days working on her novel. Travis and Benjamin were the main architects in this, with Travis doing the brunt of the work, and Benjamin helping when he could. When they finally did get everything together, Alana moved in, and the place was better than she thought it would be.
It was just like her current space, but so much bigger, with a substantial kitchen, living room, and a big bedroom.
“This is... amazing,” she said to him.
"You love it eh? Well, only the best for you,” he said.
She smiled, leaning in and kissing him passionately. Travis kissed her right back, both of them moaning i
n pleasure at the feeling of the other’s lips. For Alana, being in love was such a different feeling, and it made her feel so good since she felt like she could truly be herself when she was with Travis.
Alana moved in there shortly, and she did spend some of her days cooking and preparing food for the other shifters, but most of the days she was writing, and she realized that this cabin was definitely worth it. It felt so natural, and it felt like home, and the other shifters seemed to get that she was a writer, so they let her be. But, Alana did enjoy going to dinner with the guys, having a place with them in the clan.
“That’s hilarious!” Travis said one night as they heard some silly story from Billy.
“It is. By the way, has anyone seen any new shifters in the area?” Darren asked.
Travis shook his head. “I guess Kirk and Jackie were the main ones. I've been checking every single area for this though. So far, nothing,” he explained.
Alana nodded. “Good. I want us to be the only shifters out there,” she said.
They all agreed, each of them committing to being there for one another.
"Well, if there is ever anything amiss, we can always step in and stop it before it’s too late. We’re strong enough,” Travis said.
All of the shifters agreed, and they each put together a plan to patrol the area, when they weren't working. Alana noticed a stronger bond developing between them all, and even though a couple of them were still aloof to her, the others opened up.
That night, after Travis and Alana made love, they laid there next to each other, looking at the fireplace in front of them.
“This is better than I ever dreamed of,” Alana said.
“Good. I'm glad that I could make everything better,” Travis said.
"You honestly have... and I wanted to let you know something that I wanted to tell you for a while,” she said.
He looked at her, curiosity present on his face.
"What is it?”
“Truth is I... I submitted my new book for a competition, and hopefully, I will win an award. I kind of loosely based it on you guys, and our relationship. I didn’t include your actual names or the fact that you really are shifters, but it was a pet project I put together, and I'm glad that I did,” she said.
He looked at her, nodding in agreement.
“That sounds amazing. I really hope you win, babe,” he said.
“Even if I don’t I've... I've always wanted to submit my books for something like that, and I feel like this is the perfect chance,” she said.
He looked at her, nodding in agreement.
"You’re perfectly right babe. You’re allowed to do whatever it is you please.”
Alana smiled, excited that she had this much support.
“I don’t regret a goddamn thing. You’re amazing Travis, and I'm happy to have you in my life,” she said.
“I don’t regret it either,” he said to her.
The two of them cuddled, feeling happy and satisfied. After about a month, Alana got a piece of paper in the mail. When she opened it, she practically screamed in excitement at the contents. She raced over to Travis, and when he saw the expression on her face, wide eyes and a grin, he immediately spoke.
"You’re happy,” he said.
“Remember that competition that I submitted my piece for?” she asked.
He nodded.
"Yeah, I remember.”
"Well, I won! I got the best in my category, and the best in show!” she cried out.
He hugged her, pressing his lips to her own in a kiss.
"Amazing!”
"Yeah, I've been nervous about this, but here we are. I just won a thousand dollars too for it, and I'm just... I'm amazed,” she said.
"All that hard work is paying off,” he told her with a smile.
“It is. I'm so glad that I did it,” she said.
"Well, I'll go with you whenever you need to get it.”
“It’s the 27th, so a couple of weeks from now, but I'm so happy,” she said to him.
“I'm so happy that you’re happy,” he told her.
She looked at him, feeling a rush of happiness as she looked at him.
“Thank you, Travis. I'm just... so damn happy,” she said.
“I know. I'm glad I can see that happiness on your face.”
It was the first time that Alana truly felt this way, and as she felt Travis hug her once more, it was a strange relief that coursed through her body, and a strange sense of happiness that grew through her. She kissed him, and as the two of them locked lips, she knew that she didn’t regret a damn thing. Everything was falling into place, and Alana knew for a fact that it was the beginning of a new adventure for both of them, one they would share with one another until the end of their lives.

Chapter 1
The facade of the substantial building sent a jolt of excitement through Lisa as she stepped forward.
“There we are. The infamous building of Darren Roberson,” she said to herself.
It was her first assignment in this new location, and she was excited about it. She had heard rumors about Darren, about how he tended to be a bit of a cold bastard, but she figured that was just some shitty front he put forward, and he probably was much nicer than she expected.
Even if he wasn't, Lisa was just happy to finally have her first job. She was an aspiring journalist, and after moving to this new town, it made her heart burn with excitement as she moved towards the front of the building.
Lisa walked in, the receptionist looking up. The two locked eyes for but a moment before the lady spoke.
“Hello, how may I help you,” she said.
“Yes. I’m here for Darren,” she replied.
“Oh, so you’re the one that we’ve heard about. The girl that’s supposed to interview him. Yes, he told me about you. I’m very sorry, but I hope you get a good piece from him,” she said.
Lisa didn’t understand. What was so bad about Darren? She saw the receptionist stand up, looking her over and then smiling.
“I take it that nobody has told you about how he really is then,” she said.
“What do you mean?” Lisa inquired.
“About how he is cold, doesn’t care about trivial matters like this, and I only managed to get the interview for you after practically pulling teeth with him,” she mused.
Lisa paused, her eyes darting around. The office was practically dead, and yet, this woman was saying he didn’t want anything to do with her period.
“Even though I was told this was a free day?”
“Yeah. Darren is...like that. He tends to not want to deal with anyone but himself, and he is against most interviews. I guess he got threatened by your boss or something because he normally doesn’t do this,” the receptionist said.
“Well, I’m just a reporter doing the job for my boss, so don’t shoot the damn messenger,’ she muttered.
“Relax, I’m not,” she replied.
Lisa paused, nodding.
“Alana told me this town was pretty good for reporters. She said it was small, and I would have a job. She was right on one thing. I did have a job,” Lisa said.
“Well, I think you’ll be okay. You’ll get used to it,” she said.
Lisa nodded, following the brunette woman over to the doorway. Lisa’s curvy body grazed against the wall, and when she got to it, she pushed her auburn hair back, her green eyes focused on the doorway.
“There you are. Have at it,” she said.
Lisa watched as the receptionist slunk away, and as she touched the door, she paused.
“Was this right? I mean, I know that it’s for a job, but something about this feels…off,” she told herself.
She didn't like the way this whole ordeal was making her feel, the slight anxiety that washed over her body making her wonder what she should do next. She then grasped the knob, and after she turned it, she heard a voice.
“Make this quick.

Lisa rolled her eyes as she opened the door, giving a beaming, fake smile to the man at hand.
“Hello there, I’m Lisa. I’m here to interview you,” she started.
“Oh great. Wonderful,” the man said with a sarcastic tone.
“Don't be so happy you know. I’m just here on business.”
“Well, I don’t really feel like doing this, and frankly, I‘m only humoring because I was asked to,” he muttered.
“Gee, you’re just a boatload of sunshine and rainbows, aren’t you?”
“and you're nothing but some stupid ragtag journalist who thinks she can get the full scoop out of everything just by standing there and looking petty aren’t you?”
Lisa clenched her hands together, glaring at the man
The fucking nerve of him!
“Hey, I’m just doing my job, please respect that. I know that you’re an up-and-coming investor, and I just wanted to interview you for my business article,” she said.
“Well, it seems like you’re just as dumb as the rest of them. I only took this interview ‘cause your boss is paying me some money. I already am regretting this,” he said.
“Well, that makes two of us. If I knew you were going to be a cold douchebag, I would've just said no.”
“And if I knew I was going to get some fake sunshine and rainbows bullshit, I would've done the same thing,” he snapped back.
The two of them locked eyes, both of them angry at one another, and Lisa wanted nothing more than to take the latte on the desk and throw it at his face.
That would show him.
But she knew better than that. She knew that he was a cocky bastard, and she needed to keep her propriety. Even though deep down, she was thinking of just turning away.
“Listen, Darren, we can get this over with, and be mature adults about it, or we can continue this bullshit. Your choice,” she said.
“Don’t order me around. You should know your place. I don’t see you making investment deals,” he said.
“And I don’t see you helping me with my interview. Listen, you better help me, or I’ll just report that you’re a pretty face with a shitty personality, and we can see where that gets you,” she retorted.
