Tang Hao waved his hand. “You don’t have to worry, Assistant Han!”

The hooligans wielding steel bats were already rushing toward him.

Tang Hao whirled around the spot and whipped his leg.

  Bam!

The kick struck the face of the hooligan rushing in front. His face immediately flattened and contorted. Blood and broken teeth flew out of his mouth. Then, his entire body was lifted into the air and slammed into several hooligans which knocked them over.

Everyone was stunned by that kick.

The villagers were all wide-eyed and slack-jawed. Some people rubbed their eyes, unable to believe what they had just seen.

  Was that really Lil Hao?

That kick was like a scene in a martial arts movie. The movements were fluid and stylish.

‘Since when did Lil Hao know martial arts?’ The villagers were confused.

Han Yutong stood there with her small mouth opened into the shape of an ‘O’. Her beautiful eyes were filled with shock.

‘Oh my god! What did I just see? So my weird boss also knows martial arts?’

This was a huge shock to her. She could not believe it.

The hooligans were also stunned. They did not expect that the gentle, bookish boy knew martial arts.

“Why are you still standing there, you bunch of trash? There’s so many of you. Don’t tell me that you’re afraid of him?” Hu Dahai roared.

The hooligans came to their senses. Once again, they rushed forward, waving their steel bats.

“Just a bunch of small fry!” Tang Hao grunted coldly. He took a big step forward into the crowd.

Cries of agony were soon heard from among the hooligans. Bodies flew out several feet away. When they hit the ground, they either had bruised and swollen faces or had broken limbs. It was a gruesome sight.

Everyone was confused when they saw the scene. They felt like they were dreaming.

Han Yutong’s mouth opened wider and wider. She could not believe it.

Who was this boss of hers? Why was he so powerful?

Chapter 149 - I’ll Beat You Up Too

  “Aaaahhh!”

Another hooligan sailed across the air while screaming in pain. He fell on the ground, then wailed while covering his face.

By then, Tang Hao had already defeated more than half of the hooligans.

The remaining hooligans were beginning to feel afraid. They stopped advancing and started inching backward.

That kid was obviously a martial arts practitioner. They realized that they were no match for the kid!

  Soon, everyone fell into silence.

Han Yutong, Hu Dahai, and the villagers all looked at the boy standing in the middle of the scene. They all had dumbfounded faces.

Hu Dahai shuddered and his face turned pale as a sheet.

Then, his face contorted viciously and roared at the people around him. “All of you are useless trash! Why are you retreating? Go beat him up! Break his legs!”

The hooligans looked at each other, but none dared to step forward.

“Useless! All of you are useless! What am I paying you for?” Hu Dahai was livid.

Tang Hao flicked his wrists and smirked. “It’s your turn now, Hu Dahai!” Then, he took a step toward him.

“Wh… What do you want from me?” Hu Dahai turned fearful and took several backward steps.

“Don’t come near me! Let me tell you, you’ll be dead meat if you lay a finger on me! You can’t afford to cross me!” Hu Dahai roared desperately.

“Is that so?” Tang Hao said coldly.

Then, he grunted coldly and slapped him.

Hu Dahai cried out in pain as he stumbled backward. His face was swollen.

“You dare hit me? You’re dead!” Hu Dahai roared viciously.

Tang Hao chuckled. He lifted a leg and sent the fat boss flying with a kick.

  “Stop!”

The back door of the black BMW opened. A middle-aged man in a black business suit stepped out. He was slim and his bespectacled face looked gentlemanly.

He slammed the door shut, then walked angrily toward Tang Hao while pointing at him. “I’m telling you to stop, didn’t you hear me?”

Tang Hao paused, then turned around to see who it was.

“You must save me, Brother Ma!” Hu Dahai cried out loud. He scrambled up from the ground and ran toward that man.

“Avenge me, Brother Ma! You saw that, right? He’s the unruly peasant that caused all this. You’ll have to make sure that he’s dead!”

Hu Dahai clung to that man and cried pitifully.

Ma Yongnian narrowed his eyes. His expression was ghastly as he inspected Tang Hao.

He was in a horrid mood. According to the plan, the piece of land that he desired should have been his soon. Once he developed the place, he could easily flip it for a massive profit.

An obstacle suddenly stood in his way. Not only that obstacle had defeated his underlings, but he had also beaten up his close friend.

How was he able to tolerate that?

“You’ve got balls, kid! You’re just a filthy peasant and you dare oppose me? Don’t you know who I am? My elder brother-in-law is the District Secretary! He can easily crush you like an ant,” Ma Yongnian said angrily as he pointed at Tang Hao.

“Haha, Tang kid, you’re dead now!” Hu Dahai laughed brazenly and his eyes flashed with glee.

“Quick, Brother Ma, make a phone call! Get the police here and throw the kid in jail!” Hu Dahai said frantically.

“Don’t worry, Dahai, I’ll avenge you for sure,” Ma Yongnian said with a smirk.

Then, he looked at Tang Hao and his face became savage.

“Filthy kid, if you kneel now and kowtow to my good friend three times, I might let you off easily. Otherwise, not only I’ll arrest you, but I’ll also arrest all your fellow villagers and throw them in jail.”

His eyes swept across the villagers coldly as he spoke.

The villagers became angry as Ma Yongnian looked at them. They started shouting.

“You can’t kneel, Lil Hao! You’re a son of Tang Village, and we won’t submit to despicable people.”

“That’s right! I don’t believe that he can throw us all in jail!”

“Shut up!” Ma Yongnian roared, his gentlemanly face contorting viciously. “Are you trying to incite a rebellion? You don’t believe that I’ll throw all of you in jail?

“My brother-in-law is the number one figure in Westridge District now, and I’m number two. There’s nothing that I can’t do here! Don’t blame me for being cruel if you continue to resist,” Ma Yongnian roared arrogantly.

Tang Hao furrowed his brows. His face was becoming darker than ever.

That person must have used his brother-in-law’s authority to bully others. He should have also forced evictions elsewhere. He looked gentlemanly, but he behaved like an animal.

Tang Hao clenched his fists. He could not hold back his anger.

He took a step forward and punched.

  Pow!

That punch landed squarely on Ma Yongnian’s face. His cheek immediately sunk and his face was contorted. Blood foam spewed out of his mouth, and even his glasses flew away.

He fell sideways onto the ground.

Everyone was stupefied at that instant.

Hu Dahai watched the scene with round, wide eyes. He was caught in a daze.

Then, he came to his senses and laughed brazenly. “Haha, Tang kid, you’re really dead this time! Prepare to rot in prison!”

“Is that so?” Tang Hao smirked. He clenched his fist again and punched Hu Dahai.

Hu Dahai cried in agony. He flew backward and fell on the ground.

“You dare punch me?” Ma Yongnian got back on his feet. He screamed as he covered his face.

His anger was causing him to go insane. He had not been treated like that before. Now, a mountain village kid had punched his face.

Tang Hao chuckled and said nonchalantly, “So what if I did? You have a
filthy mouth and you deserve to be punched.”

“You’ve got balls, you filthy kid. Just you wait!”

Ma Yongnian’s hands were trembling as he pulled out the phone from his pocket. He dialed a phone number.

“Hello! Commissioner Xia? I’m Ma Yongnian! We met each other over dinner a few days ago. Right, I’m the brother-in-law of Secretary Qian.

“I’ve been punched by someone. Send someone here to Tang Village.”

Ma Yongnian ended the call and started smiling wickedly. “I hope you like prison food, kid! I’ll send someone to take care of you once you’re in prison.”

Tang Hao was impassive. He stepped forward and delivered another punch.

Soon, agonized cries mixed with angry curses were heard.

The fat and thin duo were punched until their faces were swollen like a pig’s. They were curled in the fetal position and did not stop begging for mercy. It was a pathetic sight.

The villagers cheered when they saw the scene, while Han Yutong furrowed her brows worriedly.

She knew that her boss had certain figures backing him, and he was connected with the previous Secretary. However, that Secretary had already been promoted elsewhere, and he might not hold any sway in the district.

Her boss had thrashed the brother-in-law of the District Secretary. How could he get out of that?

  Chapter 150 - Captain Gao

Tang Hao felt immensely cathartic after beating up the two people.

He sat next to the farm with a pleased expression on his face. He thought that it would make for a more picturesque scene if he knew how to smoke.

Not far away, the two people with swollen faces were curled in the fetal position and wailed inconsolably.

“Just you wait, you Tang kid…” They mumbled and cursed.

With the snot beaten out of them, their voices were weak.

“President Tang!” Han Yutong came over with a worried expression on her face.

The villagers also realized that the situation took a turn for the worse. The police should be already on their way, and when they arrive, they would arrest Lil Hao and send him to prison.

That person had also said that he would get someone to dispatch Lil Hao when he would be in prison.

“Oh, Lil Hao! You’d better run away! We’ll stall the police for you,” Tang Dashun, the village elder, said urgently to Tang Hao.

“Right, Lil Hao, you should run away!” His uncle was also worried.

  The villagers crowded around him.

In their eyes, Tang Hao was the village hero. He had beaten the two bastards to save the village. They could not bear to see Tang Hao being arrested.

Tang Hao smiled. “Elder, Uncle, there’s no need to worry. I’ll be fine.”

“But…” The village elder was still unconvinced.

“So what if they’re the police? If they’re on the two bastards’ side, we’ll fight them all the same!” A villager shouted as he held his hoe high in the air.

“That’s right! We’ll fight them!” The villagers replied indignantly.

About fifteen minutes later, ear-piercing police sirens were heard at the end of the road. Soon, they could see a convoy of police cars coming their way.

The police cars stopped once they were near. A group of police officers rushed out of the cars.

The police officers furrowed their brows. They could roughly guess what happened when they saw the scene.

Especially the group of hooligans with steel bats. They did not look like the good guys.

“What’s going on here?” A middle-aged man in a police uniform shouted as he led the squad of police officers.

He swept his eyes to survey the scene and saw the group of villagers holding farming equipment, then looked toward the bunch of hooligans.

He thought someone was playing tricks on his eyes.

  ‘Something’s not right!’

The villagers with the farming equipment had many women and old people in their midst. How would they stand up against a bunch of young and strong hooligans?

He was confused for a moment.

Then, he began to fret. The situation was extremely tricky. It would be impossible to bring all the villagers back to the police station!

“Oh, right! Where’s Mr. Ma?” The police officer suddenly remembered.

He looked to his left and right but did not see him.

“Mr. Ma!” The police officer shouted.

“Eh! I’m here!’ A weak voice was heard from behind the villagers.

The police officers went over there to see and were immediately stunned.

  “F*ck me! That’s too horrible!”

The police officers twitched and their scalps went numb.

As police officers in charge of public security, they had seen their fair share of fights, but they had never seen a fight where someone was thrashed so badly. The two people on the ground looked like they had pig heads.

“Mr… Mr. Ma?” The police officer called him, he could not believe that it was him.

“You’re finally here, Officer!” Ma Yongnian wailed. He was almost crying tears of joy.

Then, his face contorted viciously. He pushed himself up and pointed at Tang Hao. “That’s him, Officer. He’s the kid that beat me up.”

The police officer breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that.

‘Things are a lot easier. I’ll just have to arrest the person who beat up Mr. Ma. Who cares about what the hooligans did?’

He turned around and stood straight, and his eyes were as sharp as lightning. “Who’s the kid that beat Mr. Ma up? You’d better own up now! Prepare to face the consequences!”

The villagers were immediately agitated. They lifted up their hoes and sickles.

“You police officers are just lapdogs of rich people! You only side the tyrants!”

“I’ll fight whoever dares to arrest Lil Hao! Don’t think that the Tang Village people are pushovers.”

The police officer furrowed his brows when he saw that.

  The situation was tricky indeed!

“What do you think you’re doing? This is an obstruction of justice! Let me tell you, this is a crime!” The police officer roared sternly.

“Pah! You’ll have to arrest all of us!” The villagers became more agitated than ever.

“Alright, Elder, Uncle, and the rest of you. You don’t have to be so emotional,” Tang Hao stood up, parted the crowd, and stepped forward.

“I remember that your surname is Gao, right? Do you remember me, Captain Gao?”

Captain Gao heard a voice among the crowd calling his name. He was surprised and curious that someone in the mountain village recognized him.

When the person stepped out, he was immediately dumbstruck.

Then, cold sweat poured down his forehead.

Who was that person if not Tang Hao? That was a VIP-level name that everyone in the police station recognized.

Tang Hao had played a part in Deputy Superintendent An’s fall from grace, then was involved in Zhou Lingxue’s case, and had even caused the district mayor and his brother who held a leadership position in the city to be sacked.

Secretary Lin might not be in Westridge District, but he held an important position in the city and wielded a lot of influence.

Furthermore, he knew that Tang Hao had someone more powerful than Secretary Lin backing him.

He could not afford to lay a finger on him!

Captain Gao wiped the sweat off his forehead and thought hard. On one hand, it was Tang Hao. On the other, was the brother-in-law of Secretary Qian.

  What was he to do?

“Why are you standing there for, Officer? Arrest him! I want to see him rot in prison!” Ma Yongnian roared.

Captain Gao was unhappy when he heard that. ‘You’re the idiot who crossed this bigshot! You don’t sound like you’re in the right,’ he thought.

Then Captain Gao grinned then stepped forward to shake Tang Hao’s hand.

  “Oh, i
t’s you, Brother Tang! You’re one of us! Haha, it’s just fighting, right? That’s just a small matter. No problem at all.

“I believe you have your reasons for beating him, Brother Tang! It might be for self-defense, too. Don’t you think so?”

  Captain Gao laughed heartily.

The police officers behind Captain Gao looked at Tang Hao with admiration.

They have heard from the criminal division that he was the one who was crucial in solving the Zhou Lingxue case and brought the district mayor’s son to justice.

Chapter 151 - Secretary Qian Panics

Captain Gao was extremely enthusiastic as he shook Tang Hao’s hand. He did not want to let go.

The villagers were all stunned when they saw the scene. They could not believe it.

Since when was Tang Hao acquainted with a police captain? The relationship seemed to extend far beyond mere acquaintances, looking at how the police captain was treating him.

Ma Yongnian was thoroughly dumbstruck. He stared at the scene with round, wide eyes.

  How was that possible?

‘Isn’t the kid just a mere peasant from a mountain village? Why does he seem like good friends with Captain Gao?’

Then, he started yelling. “What are you doing, Captain Gao? Why aren’t you arresting him? Didn’t you see what he did to my face?

“It doesn’t matter that the two of you are friends. He’s the one who committed assault, and therefore he should be arrested! You should know who I am right, Gao? Would you believe me if I said that I can end your career with a phone call to the commissioner?”

Captain Gao furrowed his brows. The disdain in his eyes grew stronger.

‘This Ma guy is a shameless one! He brought so many hooligans with him. He should be the one who’s causing trouble,’ Captain Gao thought. He had never wanted to side that bastard.

He considered the backgrounds of the two people. Undoubtedly, Tang Hao had more powerful people behind him.

It was clear to him whom he should side with.

Captain Gao coughed and said, “Well… Mr. Ma, don’t you think that you’re the one who brought trouble to the village?”
