Suddenly, Liu Bingyao seemed to have noticed the person calling her name.
She thought that the voice sounded familiar.
She turned to see who it was.
Then, her beautiful eyes slowly enlarged and displayed a look of happiness and incredulity.
She quickly walked in that direction.
Chapter 221 - Friends With A Tycoon
The cavernous cafeteria fell into a deathly silence.
The boys all stiffened and their mischievous grins froze on their faces.
Their jaws dropped as they looked at the beautiful figure walking toward that corner of the cafeteria.
That was where the boy was sitting.
All around Tang Hao, his male classmates had turned into stone.
They saw with their eyes that beautiful figure walked near and an enchanting smile appeared on her perfect face.
Even the girls could not believe what they were seeing.
Liu Bingyao was not only popular among the boys but also the girls. Unlike most other pretty girls, Liu Bingyao barely had any rumors about her. The only recent one was that she was seen having coffee with a boy in a cafe.
Other than that, no one had ever seen her alone with another boy.
Many outstanding and famous boys had tried to attract her attention but she had ignored them all. How was Tang Hao, on his second day in college, able to win her attention?
Liu Bingyao casually walked over and stood in front of Tang Hao.
Everyone’s expressions became more shocked than ever. Some wailed out loud, lamenting the injustice of it all. How would the beauty queen be attracted by a nobody?
Everyone started staring daggers at Tang Hao.
“Who is that guy? Which faculty is he from?” Everyone discussed hotly among themselves.
Liu Bingyao put her tray on the table and sat down in front of Tang Hao. Her charming eyes inspected Tang Hao carefully.
She broke into a smile. “I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! I didn’t expect that it’s really you! Why are you here?”
His classmates sitting around him were stunned.
Then, they understood. They were friends all along!
However, they noticed the beauty queen’s expression and realized that they might be more than normal friends. Even her tone of voice sounded intimate.
Tang Hao was becoming more and more an enigma to them. Not only he had an incredible photographic memory, but he was also a basketball expert, and now he was seen to have a more-than-normal relationship with Liu the Beauty Queen.
Cao Fei was utterly stunned. He looked at the two people in a daze.
He could not believe that the two people were so close to each other.
Tang Hao smiled and said, “I’m also a student of Z University now!”
Liu Bingyao was surprised. Her cherry-red lips opened slightly as she stared confusedly at Tang Hao.
“Weren’t you…”
“It’s a long and complicated story, but I am indeed a student here now,” Tang Hao said.
Liu Bingyao was stunned for a long time.
Tang Hao’s excuse sounded ridiculous to her, but she also knew that Tang Hao had no intention of deceiving her.
“That’s good to know!” She smiled sweetly, feeling happy in her heart.
‘If he’s a student here, that means I get to see him more often!’
They continued chatting over lunch.
The atmosphere around them gradually returned to normal, though some eyes still sneaked glances at the couple occasionally.
The classmates sitting around them tried to eavesdrop on their conversation.
The more they listened, the more shocked they were. They could not close their mouths.
‘Tang Hao is actually the president of Haotian Co. Ltd.? Does that mean that he’s a windfall tycoon?’
Their gaze toward Tang Hao had changed completely.
The girls’ eyes sparkled as they regarded Tang Hao.
They have heard of Bizhi Weight Loss Tea and Bingji Beauty Cream before. Many people had taken the weight loss tea and knew about its miraculous effects. The latter had only been released recently and its incredible popularity meant that it was sold out everywhere before they had a chance to buy it.
They did not expect that the president of that company was now their classmate!
After lunch, Tang Hao and Liu Bingyao walked out of the cafeteria together. Her presence had caused a commotion along the way, and they had to find somewhere secluded to sit down.
Tang Hao explained to her how he got into Z University.
The two parted ways before the afternoon classes started.
Before he went back to his classroom, Tang Hao took many cans of beauty cream from his pocket dimension and stored them in his backpack.
Since his classmate knew his true identity, there was no reason to hide it anymore. He would rather make friends than enemies, and the boxes of beauty cream could be considered an obligatory present. Furthermore, those girls had stood up for him against Gao Wenqiang that morning.
He stepped into the classroom, and many eyes immediately looked at him.
“Tang Hao, are you really the president of Haotian Co. Ltd.?”
“Tell me! What relationship do you have with the beauty queen?”
The girls crowded around Tang Hao and asked curiously.
Tang Hao coughed lightly and said awkwardly, “We’re nothing special, only classmates back in high school. As for Haotian Company, that is indeed my company. Here’s a present for you all. Everyone gets one.”
Then, he opened his backpack and passed the boxes of beauty cream around.
“Wow!” The girls shrieked in surprise.
“It’s the beauty cream! Each box costs a few hundred yuan!”
“Thank you, Tang Hao!”
“No, we should call him Boss Tang!” Some of the girls joked.
In their eyes, that eccentric, violent show-off had become an admirable windfall tycoon.
It was rare to have a wealthy friend, and they did not want to miss that chance.
However, they had jeered and looked down upon him earlier. Was it too materialistic for them to suck up to him now?
They hesitated for a while.
They were university students with dignity and pride. They would not bow to a windfall tycoon! They would not give in to their earthly desires!
Tang Hao turned around and walked to the back row.
“Ah, right! Let’s go for dinner tonight! It’s my treat! You all should come too!” He spoke toward the group of boys.
The boys were shocked and they looked at each other.
Many boys stood up and rushed toward Tang Hao and smiled fawningly at him.
“Brother Hao! From now on, I’ll call you Brother Hao!”
“Are your shoulders tired, Brother Hao? I’ll give you a massage!”
“Are your hands tired, Brother Hao? I’ll massage them for you!”
The sycophantic behavior of the boys had shocked Tang Hao.
Even the girls looked at the scene with incredulous eyes.
“Oh my, aren’t they shameless? Do they have to fawn over Tang Hao that way?”
“It seems that boys can be more shameless than girls when they put their heart to it!”
The boys did not mind the comments. What was a little dignity if they could be friends with a windfall tycoon?
More and more boys could not resist the temptation. They walked to Tang Hao and greeted him as ‘Brother Hao’. Even Zhuo Hang, who finally lost a battle to his conscience, gave in to the temptation. He came over sheepishly and greeted him ‘Brother Hao’.
Chapter 222 - Gao Wenqiang’s Revenge
“Here’s a toast to you, Brother Hao!”
In the private room of a restaurant, many boys toasted Tang Hao continuously.
Tang Hao did not reject any of the offers. He downed all the drinks, no matter that if they were wine or beer. He did not know how many drinks he took, bu
t his face did not turn red at all.
“You ought to drink less!” Liu Bingyao, sitting next to him, furrowed his brows and said concernedly.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be drunk. Don’t you remember that no one could outdrink me in our junior high gathering?” Tang Hao said with a smile.
Liu Bingyao was taken aback. She remembered that many classmates tried toasting him during the gathering, but all of them were drunk before he was.
“You should still drink less though. It’s not good for your health!” Liu Bingyao said.
The boys were envious when they looked at Tang Hao.
“That’s Brother Hao for you. He could even invite Liu the Beauty Queen to the party!” The boys mumbled and became even more admirable of Tang Hao.
“Brother Hao, I apologize for offending you earlier! Shall we let bygones be bygones?” Zhuo Hang came over and toasted Tang Hao.
Everyone enjoyed themselves at dinner.
After dinner, they went to a karaoke center next to the university and had some fun.
After the party, the students parted ways.
Tang Hao and Liu Bingyao walked back into the campus.
Traffic was light on the roads. Not many cars were passing by.
As Liu Bingyao walked, she occasionally turned to look at Tang Hao with her beautiful eyes.
The faint yellow street light shone on her body, enveloping her body and face in a dreamy aura.
She had meticulously dressed up for the dinner, and her light makeup made her look even more beautiful than ever.
She looked at his face and suddenly smiled.
“What’s up?” Tang Hao was surprised.
“Nothing. I just thought that it’s all quite amazing,” Liu Bingyao said with a smile.
Tang Hao was more surprised than ever.
“Look at it. We were classmates for three years in junior high. Then, even though we weren’t classmates in high school, we were still in the same school!
“We’re in the same university again! Don’t you think that it’s fate?”
“That’s true!” He said with a smile.
“Isn’t that so! I think that it’s quite incredible!” Liu Bingyao said as she looked at Tang Hao again. Her beautiful eyes displayed an exquisite charm.
She pressed her lips and the corners gently curled upward. Even her footsteps felt lighter.
The two slowed down their footsteps as they casually walked along the roadside.
As they neared the campus grounds, a group of people dressed like hooligans and wielding steel bats rushed out from nearby and surrounded them.
Liu Bingyao was startled and leaned onto Tang Hao.
Tang Hao furrowed his brows, trying to figure out who those people were.
The hooligans were obviously coming for them, but they did not look like they were from Z University.
‘Is it because of her?’ Tang Hao thought as he glanced at Liu Bingyao.
Many people in Z University pursued Liu Bingyao, and the incident during lunchtime probably had made him the public enemy. Perhaps someone had hired some hooligans to knock him down a notch.
“What do you guys want?” Liu Bingyao yelled angrily.
The hooligans walked over with sneers on their faces. When they saw Liu Bingyao, their eyes bulged and their faces displayed a perverted smile.
“Wow, what a hottie! Are you interested in entertaining my brothers?” The lead hooligan smiled pervertedly.
Liu Bingyao’s face darkened. “Shameless! Don’t get any closer. I’m calling the police!” She chided. Then, she reached into her handbag and pulled out her phone.
“Hah! She’s trying to call the police! Are you tired of living, you filthy whore?” The lead hooligan immediately looked angry.
Then, he shouted to his left and right. “Go fix up the kid! Be quick!”
Then, his face turned vicious as he stepped forward to grab Liu Bingyao’s phone.
Liu Bingyao cried in surprise and stepped a few steps back.
Tang Hao reached out and held her waist. Then, his eyes flashed with icy coldness and threw a kick.
The kick landed squarely on the hooligan’s chest, who was sent flying three or four meters away and landed on the ground with a thud.
The hooligans that were running toward Tang Hao while waving their steel bats froze in place. Their eyes were opened round and wide as they stared at Tang Hao.
‘Oh my god! Did he just send a guy flying so far away with one kick? This guy is a monster!’
Gulp! The hooligans swallowed with some difficulty and their faces were turning pale.
“Big… Big Brother, this is a sticky situation! What… What do we do?” One of the hooligans asked the lead hooligan who was sprawled on the ground.
“Ouch!” The lead hooligan wailed in pain as he pushed himself up. Then he cursed, “Are you all idiots? Don’t you have legs? Run away! You all are useless!”
The hooligans were taken aback. Then, they ran away screaming.
“Hey! What are you doing? Come back! Why isn’t anyone helping me? I’m your leader. you idiots!”
The lead hooligan struggled to his feet. He was slack-jawed when he saw his underlings disappearing into the distance.
Then, he wanted to run away but he clutched his chest and wailed in pain.
Suddenly, a hand reached out from behind and tapped his shoulder.
His entire body stiffened and he was on the verge of crying.
“Hey… Bro… Don’t… Don’t be impulsive! It’s just a… a misunderstanding!” He stammered as he turned around.
“I’m not your bro!” Tang Hao said coldly, “Tell me, who paid you? I don’t think I’ve crossed you before!”
The lead hooligan trembled from head to toe and his head shook like a rattle.
Then, he managed to squeeze an ugly smile on his face.
“B- Bro… we’ve never met before. Some bastard paid me twenty thousand yuan to teach you a lesson. I really don’t mean it.”
“Which bastard is that? What does he look like? Is he a student?” Tang Hao asked.
“No, he’s an adult. He’s about thirty years old,” the hooligan said.
Tang Hao’s expression changed drastically when he heard that.
‘A thirty-something-year-old man? Isn’t that Gao Wenqiang?’
Gao Wenqiang was the only adult at Z University with a bone to pick with him.
“Let me think. Oh, he wears a broken pair of glasses, and he has a sinister look on his face. He wanted to pay me a hundred thousand yuan to stick a few knives in your body, but I didn’t dare to kill someone. That was why I only took twenty thousand.
“I won’t do this anymore, Bro. Please forgive me!”
Tang Hao’s face became darker.
Unquestionably, that was Gao Wenqiang’s doing.
He wanted to teach Gao Wenqiang a lesson, but he did not expect Gao Wenqiang to strike first.
He narrowed his eyes, which flashed with shocking coldness.
Then, he thought of something and his expression changed.
Gao Wenqiang was a psychopath, and he was crazily in love with Teacher Jiang. Teacher Jiang had exposed his misdeeds and ruined his reputation that morning. He must hate Teacher Jiang to the bone now.
Considering that he got someone to beat up Tang Hao, he must have gotten someone to harm Teacher Jiang as well.
In any case, he had sent some threatening messages to Teacher Jiang the night before.
Chapter 223 - A Psychopath
A hint of unease crept into Tang Hao’s mind as he stood on the spot.
“B- Bro…” The lead hooligan said.
“Get lost!” Tang Hao chided.
The lead hooligan ran away as though he had received a royal pardon.
“What’s wrong, Tang Hao?” Liu Bingyao asked.
Tang Hao briefly explained the incident between Gao Wenqiang and Teacher Jiang.
“He is an evil person. He shouldn’t be a teacher at all!” Liu Bingyao sa
id angrily through gritted teeth.
Tang Hao thought for a while, then took out his phone and dialed Teacher Jiang’s number. They had exchanged phone numbers while they walked together the night before.
The ringing tone beeped for many times but no one picked up.
“No one’s picking up?” Liu Bingyao asked.
Tang Hao shook his head.
He looked at the time to see that it was a little past eight-thirty.
Teacher Jiang should have been done with the next day’s preparations and left the campus. Her house was in the residential area not far from the campus.
It was about an eight-minute walk from the main entrance.
“You should go home first. I’ll look for her,” Tang Hao told Liu Bingyao.
“Alright! Please be careful!” Liu Bingyao said.
They reached the main entrance of the university not too long later. After seeing her off at the entrance, Tang Hao shifted his stance. A gust of strong wind started blowing and transported him to the teacher’s office.
He arrived at the office building about ten seconds later. He briefly checked around and saw no trace of Teacher Jiang.
Someone was still in the office. Tang Hao went over to ask them and found out that Teacher Jiang had left the office more than ten minutes ago.
“More than ten minutes ago? Even if she stopped on the way back to buy something from the convenience store, she should be home by now! I should go and take a look!” Tang Hao shifted again and dashed toward the residential area.
In a poorly-lit apartment unit on the fifth floor of Building Number 9.
A figure dressed in black sat on the couch in the living room. His face was obscured by a hood, and he held a sharp knife in his left hand.
On the other hand, he held a phone.
There was a missed call notification on the phone.
He lowered his head and noticed the name on the phone screen, then he laughed coldly. “This filthy kid must be half-dead by now! I’ve hired some people to beat him up within an inch of his life.”
