His beady eyes narrowed as he glared at Tang Hao.

“Let me tell you, you’re dead meat! What is your name? Tell me your name! I’ll make sure that you never graduate!” He roared maniacally.

“That’s nothing! You ought to expel him from Z University and ruin his future!”

The plump man that was kicked earlier also got to his feet. His face was vicious and savage.

Everyone in the room was looking at Tang Hao sternly.

They looked at him with condescension, though there was also a hint of pity.

All the people there wielded some authority. It was all too easy for them to ruin a mere university student.

In their eyes, university students, no matter if they were from Z University or some other college, were all the same. They had not made a mark in society and therefore had no authority or influence.

“Well…” Teacher Jiang was anxious. She did not expect the situation to devolve that way.

Tang Hao had once again gotten himself into big trouble by rescuing her.

Dean Fu laughed gleefully when he saw her face. “See that, Teacher Jiang? All this wouldn’t have happened if you had cooperated. Young Master Lu would be happy, and he won’t get into trouble!

“Haha! You must be happy now, right? Your student is finished because of you. His life is over!”

Dean Fu roared maniacally as his expression became more arrogant.

Jiang Wanying felt guiltier than ever.

Tang Hao had claimed one life because of Gao Wenqiang, and now he was in big trouble with so many figures of authority.

She knew how much authority those people wielded, especially Young Master Lu.

Tang Hao rolled his eyes, then slapped Dean Fu.

“You’re the one who’s finished! You look like a gentleman, but who knows that you behave worse than an animal? Do you even deserve to be a dean?

“And you want to be vice-chancellor too? In your dreams!”

Dean Fu was utterly dumbfounded by that slap.

“You… You dare slap me?” He shrieked while covering his face.

Tang Hao did not reply but instead slapped him again.

Dean Fu stumbled and fell on his butt. His face was already swollen and he looked pathetic.

“Stop!” Young Master Lu finally could not take it anymore. He stood up and yelled at Tang Hao.

  “Who the hell are you?”

Tang Hao smirked, then kicked at Dean Fu.

“Ah….!” Dean Fu wailed in agony.

A hint of frustrated anger appeared on Young Master Lu’s face.

‘Did that kid just ignore me?’

The fat man chuckled. “You’re finished, you filthy kid! Don’t you know that Young Master Lu here is the son of the top-ranked government official in Province Z? He’s also known as the Crown Prince of Province Z!

“He can send you to the depths of hell with just one finger.”

Tang Hao was indeed shocked when he heard that.

He did not expect that the young person would have such high social standing.

If he was the son of the top-ranked government official in the province, it meant that even He Yifei could not compare to him.

“Ha! Are you scared now! It’s too late!” The man laughed.

Meanwhile, Young Master Lu glared coldly at Tang Hao.

  His mood had been ruined.

The woman was about to become his, but the kid had taken her away.

He cackled fiercely. “If you f*ck off this instant, leave her here and pretend that nothing happened, I can consider letting you go.

“Otherwise, you’ll know the true meaning of despair!”

He was confident that the kid would obey him after his identity was revealed.

Everyone who knew who he was obediently followed his commands.

That was why he stepped forward without hesitation.

Jiang Wanying’s frail body trembled. Her face was suffused with agony.

She should have known that the situation would come to this. That person was the son of the highest-ranked government official in the province. His social standing was way above her and Tang Hao.

She was unlucky to have been caught in the situation, and she had now involved Tang Hao in it.

All this would not have happened if she did not make the phone call.

She finally reached a decision after struggling internally. “Let him go. I’ll stay!” She said with much difficulty.

Young Master Lu was shocked. Then, he was ecstatic.

  “Alright!” He replied without hesitation.

In his eyes, mere university students like Tang Hao were lesser than insects.

“Young Master Lu!” Dean Fu was worried. “That kid just thrashed me! How can you let him go?”

Young Master Lu rolled his eyes at him.

‘You’re such an idiot! Can you not further ruin my mood? There are so many chances of taking your revenge in the future!’ He thought.

“Shut up!” He yelled at Dean Fu, then he smiled and reached toward Jiang Wanying’s wrist.

“Come here, Teacher Jiang. Let us continue.”

His hand was about to grasp Jiang Wanying’s wrist. Suddenly, another hand came from the side and firmly grasped his wrist.

He was shocked at that moment.

Then, someone said coldly into his ear.

“The Crown Prince of Province Z? That’s all nonsense! Do you think that you’re superior just because your dad is a government official?”

He felt a kick on his stomach.

He grunted and his fair and handsome face contorted.

Then, his body flew backward and landed on the floor.

Chapter 269 - Calm Before the Storm

  The room immediately went silent.

  Everyone was dumbstruck.

They could not believe their eyes.

‘Did that student… just kick Young Master Lu?

  ‘This… This is a rebellion!’

Who was Young Master Lu but the son of the highest-ranked government official in the province? He was the Crown Prince of Province Z! Everyone who met him regarded him with fear and respect, but that kid kicked him without hesitation.

Did the kid have a death wish?

Dean Fu nearly burst out with maniacal laughter when he saw that, but he managed to stop himself in time.

  “Tang Hao, did you just…”

Jiang Wanying’s expression changed. Her face turned pale with fear.

“What are you afraid about, Teacher Jiang?” Tang Hao said impassively.

His face was calm, without any hint of panic.

Young Master Lu’s background was bigger than he had expected, but that did not intimidate him.

However, things would become quite tricky.

Young Master Lu, whose name was Lu Bin, got to his feet. His face was contorted with anger.

No one had beaten him before. That was his first time!

His eyes glared at Tang Hao and yelled, “How dare you hit me, you lowly peasant? Don’t you know who I am?”

Tang Hao rolled his eyes at him.

Lu Bin’s eyes were almost spewing fire when he saw that.

‘That kid is too brazen! He knows who I am, yet he isn’t afraid?’

“You have balls, kid! Tell me your name!” Lu Bin roared. His face was contorted with anger.

“My name is Tang Hao!” Tang Hao said coldly.

There was nothing to hide. Teacher Jiang had called him by his name several times anyway, and it was too easy for Lu Bin to find out even if he did not tell his name.

“Tang Hao? Hmph! I’ll remember that! Just you wait!”

Lu Bin cackled. He took out his phone and made a call.

“Hello! Is that Deputy Superintendent Lin? I’m Lu Bin!”

“Oh, Cousin Lu! It’s already so late. Can I help you with anything?”

“It’s like this. I’m at Fragrant Cloud Restaurant and I’ve been beaten by someone. I’d like you to send some people o
ver and arrest him. Remember to take ‘good care’ of him.”

Deputy Superintendent Lin on the other end of the call was shocked speechless.

Cousin Lu was the Crown Prince of Province Z. Who would dare to beat him up?

“Who’s that brazen bastard?” Deputy Superintendent Lin said.

“It’s a university student. His name is Tang Hao. Can you run a check on that name and see who he is and where he’s from?”

“Oh, Tang Hao?” Deputy Superintendent Lin mumbled that name. He thought that it sounded quite familiar.

Then, his body trembled and his face displayed utter incredulity.

‘Isn’t Tang Hao related to Xu Jianghai’s fall from grace? He was arrested and brought to the police station not too long ago, but I’ve managed to send him off!

‘Why is it him again this time?

‘Now he’s gotten himself into trouble again. He’s beaten up the son of Secretary Lu.’

Deputy Superintendent Lin was cursing under his breath.

‘Can’t this idiot keep it down? He’s always causing trouble!’

His composure wavered as he thought of what to do.

There was no need to mention Lu Bin’s background. However, Tang Hao also had someone in the provincial government backing him.

He did not know who they were, but he knew that they greatly outranked him.

If the Secretary had personally made that request, then he would not hesitate in arresting that kid. However, it was the Secretary’s son.

Lu Bin was surprised when he heard no reply from Deputy Superintendent Lin. “What’s wrong?”

Deputy Superintendent Lin hesitated for a while and said, “Oh, Cousin Lu! I’m sorry, I’m a little caught up with another case. How about you ask someone else, or maybe call the local police station?”

Then, he hurriedly ended the call.

Lu Bin’s face was red with anger when he heard the busy tone on the phone.

He understood that Deputy Superintendent Lin had tactfully declined his request.

  ‘How could this be?

‘Isn’t that kid just a normal university student?

‘Don’t tell me… he has a powerful background?’

Just when he was starting to be wary, someone from the Ministry of Education shouted. “Oh, I remember now! I was wondering why the name sounded familiar.”

Then, that person looked at Dean Fu.

“There was a provincial government official who requested for a spot in Z University for a student. That student’s name is Tang Hao.”

“What? A provincial government official?” Everyone was shocked.

Especially Dean Fu. His face stiffened.

Not many people could wield enough authority to place a random kid into Z University. He could count the number of people with that level of authority on one hand.

He had thought Tang Hao was just a normal student, but now he knew that the kid had a powerful background.

With a leader from the provincial government backing him, there was no chance for him to take revenge!

  Then, he smirked coldly.

No matter how highly ranked his backing might be, they were still no match for Lu Bin’s father, who was the Province Secretary!

Lu Bin’s composure wavered. He furrowed his brows.

‘So he does have a powerful background after all. No wonder Deputy Superintendent Lin backed away. Looks like I can’t get the police to help.’

Tang Hao looked around the room. “If there’s nothing else, let’s leave this place!” Then, he took Jiang Wanying’s hand and led her outside.

Jiang Wanying was still in a daze. She allowed herself to be led out.

She was still feeling weak. She was in a daze as she was led downstairs into the basement parking lot and Tang Hao’s car.

  “Drink this, Teacher Jiang!”

After Tang Hao sat into the car, he handed Teacher Jiang a small bottle. In it contained the sobriety potion he concocted.

Still in a daze, Jiang Wanying took it and drank it.

A while later, her mind slowly became clear.

“This is…” She looked at the bottle in her hand with surprise.

“It’s a sobriety potion!” Tang Hao took the empty bottle back.

“Oh!” Jiang Wanying replied, and did not think about it any further.

She looked at Tang Hao guiltily. “I’m sorry for dragging you into trouble again, Tang Hao.”

She bit her lip and tears welled in her eyes.

“I shouldn’t have trusted that animal of a Dean. I honestly thought that it would only be a normal dinner. When I realized that something was amiss, it was too late for me to escape.”

Tang Hao smiled and comforted her. “Don’t be sad, Teacher Jiang. It’s not your fault! It’s all that animal’s fault.”

  Jiang Wanying started sobbing.

“All this wouldn’t have happened if not for me!”

She could not hold back her tears anymore. She buried her head in her knees and cried out loudly.

Tang Hao sighed when he saw her cry.

Teacher Jiang had newly stepped into society. She did not know how evil some people could be.

Then, his expression gradually turned grim.

Lu Bin was not a pushover, and he would not let the matter slide. Tang Hao was in big trouble this time!

Chapter 270 - Taking the Initiative

Jiang Wanying was sobbing softly in the car.

Her face was buried between her knees and her shoulders were trembling slightly.

Tang Hao sat there quietly, thinking of something.

Lu Bin could not be killed off like Gao Wenqiang. Killing Gao Wenqiang had already caused a great furor. If Lu Bin disappeared, the shockwaves would be far greater.

He could not simply kill someone whose dad was the highest-ranked government official in the province.

‘If I can’t touch him that easily or make him disappear, then what should I do?

‘Is the only choice… sit and wait?’

Tang Hao’s brows were tightly locked.

He would only be at a disadvantage if he waited for them to act. Lu Bin’s father wielded the ultimate authority in Province Z.

As for him, his only backing was the He family.

He was not even sure whether the He family would help him.

Even if they did, he was not sure if their collective authority would be enough to face the Lu family.

Old Master He was retired for a long time. He might still command some authority, but it was probably not enough to intimidate the Lu family.

If he did not want to sit and wait, then he would have to take the initiative and strike first.

Lu Bin must have been a depraved individual to behave that way in the room earlier. It must not be his first time either. If Lu Bin had been using his background to bully others, it meant that all Tang Hao had to do was find his misdeeds.

He thought for a while and came up with an idea.

He looked at Jiang Wanying and his expression softened. “Teacher Jiang, I think… you ought to stay away from work for the next few days. You should take sick leave.”

Jiang Wanying stopped sobbing and lifted her head.

Her eyes were still red and wet with tears. She looked helpless and frail.

She nodded as she looked at Tang Hao.

“You shouldn’t go back home either. I’ll find you a place to stay.” Then, Tang Hao took out his phone and called Han Yutong.

Han Yutong did not have any work while Tang Hao was attending classes, and so she stayed together with her mother.

He briefly explained the circumstances to Han Yutong, and she agreed to house Jiang Wanying for the time being.

Tang Hao started his car and drove to Z University. Teacher Jiang went home to pack some clothes and other necessities, then he sent her to Han Yutong’s house.

Once that was done, Tang Hao parked by the roadside and gave a call to Old Master Luo.

  “Is there any
thing that I can help you with, Grandmaster Tang?”

“I’d like you to find me some information about someone,” Tang Hao said.

“Who is it?” Old Master Luo said nonchalantly.

  “Lu Bin.”

“Lu Bin? The name sounds familiar!” He said. Then his expression changed drastically.

Even with his level of self-control, he was about to blurt out curses.

Not only he knew who Lu Bin was, but he had also met the young man several times. Snooping on him would be nothing but trouble!

He laughed drily. “That’s quite a challenging thing you’re asking for, Grandmaster Tang!”

“This is the third favor. Once you’ve done that for me, there won’t be any grudges between us,” Tang Hao said coldly.

  “Well…” Old Master Luo hesitated.

A while later, he said, “So what kind of information are you looking for?”

  “Everything!” Tang Hao said.

Old Master Luo immediately understood. He knew that the Crown Prince of Province Z did not have a good reputation. He had used his background to bully and intimidate other people.

He was also rumored to be very close to certain wealthy businessmen.

Grandmaster Tang’s intention was clear. He wanted some dirt on Lu Bin.

“If you’re just looking for information, then it shouldn’t be difficult!” Old Master Luo said after pondering the issue for a while. “However, I can’t guarantee if I can find too much useful information on him.”

“Alright!” Tang Hao agreed to it.

After he ended the call, Tang Hao gave a call to Sis Xiangyi and cautioned her to take care of herself for the next few days.

Then, he gave a call to Liu Bingyao too.

He was rumored to be Liu Bingyao’s boyfriend in Z University. The incident might affect her.

Finally, he gave a call to Liu Yan, the company manager.

Haotian Co. Ltd. was almost certain to be affected by Lu Bin’s revenge.

He gave her a call to prepare her for any emergencies.

After that, he drove his car toward Z University.
