With shaky hands she lifted her cell and decided to call Mix. She needed to hear his voice. Maybe he could offer a little reassurance while she was lost. Listening to his line ring, her heart raced.

  “Hello?”

Nunnie’s lashes fluttered, hearing a voice other than Mix’s. “Hello, where’s the owner of this phone?”

“Who is this?” the girl on the other end of the line questioned.

“Where’s Mix?” Nunnie pressed, ignoring her question.

“Sweetie, you won’t talk to nobody if you can’t say who you is,” the girl snapped.

“Bi—” Nunnie was about to go in, until she caught herself. “You know what? You got it. You be good.” She ended the call.

Abruptly, she dropped her cell on the counter like it was hot. For several long seconds, her breasts heaved up and down, as tears clouded her vision.

“Did this shit just really happen?” she whispered to herself. “Did he? Did he,” her lips trembled, as tears slipped from her eyes.

Unconsciously, she tightly gripped the sink, until her fingers were numb.

“Naveriah,” Levi, called out to her, as he tapped on the door. “Are you alright in there?”

  “Yeah,” she gulped. “I’m fine.”

  “You sure?”

“Yeah…just give me a second. I’m coming to bed.”

  He hesitated before responding. “Okay.”

After she was sure that he’d stepped away from the door, Nunnie covered her mouth with her palm, and bawled silently. Painfully, she knelt over, crying from the depths of her soul. Stamping her feet, she threw a non-verbal fit. For a few minutes, she was an absolute wreck…but then she had to let it go.

After crying her eyes out, she eventually calmed herself down. She then wiped her face with a towel, attempting to get a handle on her emotions.

She faced herself in the vanity mirror. “Okay, Nunnie, fuck that nigga. Now you know what it is. Consider this a sign. It’s about self-preservation now. Do what you gotta do for you. Fuck him. Fuck everybody,” she sniveled.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped out of the bathroom.

Curiously, Levi glanced up at her, while sitting at the foot of his bed.

Locking eyes with him, she sauntered over to him. Gently, she grabbed his chin, before bending over, and planting a sensual kiss on his full lips.

Needless to say, Levi was taken by surprise, as she’d never initiated any form of intimacy between them before.

“Where did that come from?” he asked with a smile, when she finally pulled back.

Biting her bottom lip, she straddled him, before wrapping her arms around his neck. Instinctively, he placed his hand on her exposed hips, gripping her laced panties. Teasingly, she kissed him, while rolling her hips into him. Soon, he was using one hand to palm her fat ass, as she nastily tongued him down.

Nunnie was obviously fueled by Mix’s betrayal, as she caressed Levi, driving him crazy with anticipation. He’d been secretly waiting on this moment for quite some time. Usually, it never took this long, as she had him questioning if he’d somehow fallen off in his abilities of snagging women. So, now he wanted to make this one count. Let her know who she’d been playing with.

Feeling like there was no more time to waste, he lifted the shirt above her head. Nunnie briefly glanced down at her stomach, before shrugging. It was what it was. However, Levi proceeded without so much as blinking, while cuffing her tender boobs. While staring into his eyes, she proceeded to roll off her own panties, as he eased out of his shorts and boxers. Instantly, his impressive stiffness sprung up. He was probably a nice nine inches long with a girth that was sure to stretch her out. Placing her feet underneath her, she grabbed her knees, while aligning herself at the tip of his dick. Popping her back, she slid completely down, and then commenced to riding him.

“Oh, shit,” Levi breathed, biting his bottom lip, while using one hand to clutch her hip.

Sultrily, Nunnie glanced back at her own ass, while she twirled her hips. Levi was in absolute heaven, as he had the pleasure of watching himself ease in and out of her, as she danced on his dick like he’d seen in music videos. His toes were involuntarily curling, as she made her feel new unfamiliar sensations. Her fat ass slapped against his thighs, as she slammed down on him hard.

Levi went into this, thinking that he’d show Nunnie a thing or two, but was quickly realizing that this was her show. She was a in full control, and that much was clear, as she pinned his hands back, and rode his ass into submission. Never in his life had he’d been fucked like this. It was like she’d gone into some type of zone. Her eyes were closed tightly, as she threw the pussy on him. Every thrust felt better than the last. He was literally gritting his teeth, fighting against himself, having urges to cry out like a bitch.

“Uh, fuck, uh, fuck,” Nunnie panted, as she rolled her hips.

Levi gazed up at her; mesmerized. She was releasing frustration, fucking him for her own selfish reasons, blowing his mind in the process, knowing not what she was doing. Levi lied beneath her, silently establishing in his head that this thing between them was going to become permanent. One way or another.

  Chapter 12

Levi sat on the deck of his apartment with his mouth stuffed with half of Nunnie’s left tit. It was broad daylight and he was buried deep within her. Stark naked, Nunnie eagerly galloped up and down on his dick, taking all the dick she could handle. Encouragingly, Levi slapped her round ass, as she showed out.

“You like that?” she questioned cockily.

  He nodded.

Leaning back, he moved with her, keeping his mouth planted around her nipple, she placed her palms back on his knees. He wrapped his arms snuggly around her while she sat up in his lap. She knew she had him, judging by the way he was holding her. He was about to bust, and that was her cue. She abruptly hopped off him, right before he exploded. She watched him spill all over his lap.

Shaking her head with a smile, she scooped up her clothes off the ground. “I knew your ass was lying. What happened to you going to work, Levi?”

He sat up, chuckling. “I’ll go in tomorrow.”

“Yeah, right,” she mumbled, while stepping into her boy shorts. “And then it’ll be another excuse by then.” She pulled her sports bra over her head. “I can’t remember the last time you carried your ass to work.”

He shrugged. “It is what it is. As long as the money is made, it really doesn’t matter.”

“Yeah, yeah, let you tell it.”

“I’m saying,” he grinned, as he studied her physique.

“Uh huh,” she headed back into the apartment. “Let me get started on this chicken. You want purple or red Kool-Aid?”

Levi stood, grabbing his boxers off the ground. “There you go with this Kool-Aid madness.”

“I keep telling you, I’ma project baby. Now purple or red?” Nunnie pressed from the kitchen, as she poured grease into a pot.

Levi stepped into his boxers. “Well, red, I guess. Whatever that means,” he mumbled to himself.

Admittedly, dealing with Nunnie had been a culture shock. All she really knew how to cook was fried food and insisted on drinking Kool-Aid with every meal. Then when she wasn’t consuming massive amounts of unhealthy foods, she’d have her sister and her ghetto fabulous friends over. Levi couldn’t deny any of their attractiveness, but they were all so abrasive. Nunnie was practically a saint in comparison. He’d definitely picked the perfect one out of the bunch, he was convinced.

Low key, Levi was drawn to Nunnie’s ghetto chicness. It was so different from the women he’d grown up around and had previously dated. With her, he’d stepped outside of the norm, and he hadn’t regretted it yet. She had his full attention, and his nose was unquestionably wide open. There was no more splitting his time in between different homes. However he had to make it happen, he spent every night there in that apartment with her.

Nunnie noticed that his routine had switched up but hadn’t tried to analyz
e it. Truthfully, she was winging this entire thing with Levi, as certain things had yet to be discussed between them. For nearly a month now, they’d spent every waking moment together, and she’d let the Footlocker gig go. Levi had convinced her that working wasn’t necessary, but she was far from a fool. She’d only quit, because he’d been funneling enough money to her in one month than Footlocker paid her for almost five. So, mathematically this move made the most sense. Therefore, her little bag was secured, and if or when things ever fell apart between them, she’d unquestionably walk away with a gain.

Him keeping her pockets lined with cash was a nice incentive to stick around and it was also the reason she hadn’t asked many questions. She knew that there were skeletons in the man’s closet, as he avoided any in-depth conversations about himself, outside of his work. He never talked about his parents or family in general, which she knew had to exist, judging by the numerous calls he’d take in the other room. Clearly, he had a reality that he’d been neglecting while being holed up in that apartment with her, and she didn’t know how much longer he’d be able to continue to do that.

After stepping into the house, Levi flopped down on the couch. Quietly, he watched Nunnie, while she moved around the kitchen. Soon, she was frying chicken, while twerking to a song stuck in her head. Levi couldn’t help but smirk at her spunk.

“Levi,” she called out to him.

“What’s up, baby?” he responded instantly, ready to make any wish his command.

“Can you keep a eye on the food, while I run to the bathroom?”

“Yeah, I got it,” he agreed, while standing up.

“Cool,” she breathed, before jogging off.

He was about to head to the kitchen, when someone rang the doorbell. “Hey, Naveriah!”

“Yeah?” she answered from the bathroom.

  “You’re expecting someone?”

  “Nope.”

He frowned, as he waltzed over to the door. “Well, I wonder who the hell is this?” he checked the peephole but saw no one. “Who is it?”

There was no answer, but then someone managed to knock again.

Levi shook his head. “I bet this is Dreka,” he called out to Nunnie. “Your sister loves to play games,” he mumbled, as he unlocked the door, knowing that the visitor had to leave their name downstairs, so this wasn’t a complete nut off the streets. Pulling the door open, he peeked out.

  “Daddy!”

Levi’s heart nearly leapt out of his chest, as he heard his daughter. Levia was so excited to lay eyes on him. She was literally jumping up and down with her hands in the air. Right behind her was her mother. Lauren’s expression was deadpan as she locked eyes with him.

“Are you going to let us in?” Lauren questioned.

Levi gulped. “What are you doing here?”

“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” she rebutted. “This doesn’t look anything like New York, Levi.”

  He cleared his throat. “Lauren—”

“Who’s at the door, Levi?” Nunnie enquired from the kitchen.

  Lauren narrowed her eyes.

Levi stood there, not knowing quite what to say.

With adrenaline rushing through her veins, Lauren made the hasty decision to barge past Levi, and let herself into the apartment. Peering around, her face turned crimson red.

“So, this is where you’ve been spending our money?”

“Our money?” Levi furrowed his brows. “Lauren, come on. Don’t do that. You know I hate when you do that. My money is my money.”

Levia stepped into the apartment. “Daddy, is this our new place?”

Hearing the voices, Nunnie confusingly stepped into the living room.

Lauren’s jaw dropped. “Oh, wow. This one is younger than I expected. She looks fresh out of high school. Or is she done yet?”

  “What?” Nunnie scowled.

“Oh, sweetie, are you confused about what’s going on here?” Lauren quizzed. “Well, to clear the air, I’m Levi’s wife. I’ve been that for the past ten years. He didn’t tell you?”

“Wife for ten years?” Nunnie stressed, as she looked the lady up and down. She was honestly shocked. Of all the women Levi could snatch up in the city…and this is who he chooses? The woman was medium built. There was absolutely nothing special about her. Her blonde hair and blue eyes were very common amongst people of her ethnicity, and Nunnie couldn’t find one thing that stood out about her. “Nah, he never mentioned that.”

“That figures.” Lauren flung her hair over her shoulder. “This isn’t surprising at all. He’s developed a pattern over time. We’re good for a little while, and then he gets bored. That’s when he’ll run off and create a project. He’ll find someone…usually from a lower class and have a little fun with them. That only lasts, until I figure things out. Once I find out, he pleads for his family, drops the project, leaves them to pick up their own pieces, and we go back to living our lives. So, I’m sure this time will be no different.”

Levi frowned. “Lauren, what are you talking about?”

“I’m just letting her know what to expect.”

Levi shook his head. “That’s why you showed up over here with my daughter? Does that make any sense to you?”

“Yes,” Lauren nodded. “I wanted you to realize the affect your actions have on your family.”

“No, me as a father has nothing to do with me and you. Especially when I’ve told you privately what I feel. So, Levia didn’t need to be here for any of this. We’re going through a transition, but when the smoke clears, I’m going to get her and her brother as much as I can. I’ve told you that.”

  “What transition, Levi?” Lauren questioned.

“Lauren, I told you this the other day. Did I not? I want a separation.”

“Why would I take you serious, Levi? You sent that via text, for God’s sake,” Lauren fussed.

Nunnie narrowed her eyes, gazing at Levi. “What? Why would you tell somebody something that heavy through a text?”

Levi rubbed the side of his face. “I needed time.”

“But that was selfish of you, Levi,” Nunnie lectured. “And maybe you didn’t go home and do things the proper way, because you know that you’re wrong. And now that I know everything, I’m willing to back out of the situation, until you figure things out.”

Levi vehemently shook his head. “No. My mind is made up.”

Lauren frowned. “What does that mean?”

“It means that you need to go home and take care of the kids,” Levi chided. “I’ll have the official separation papers drawn up in a few days.”

“So, I’m supposed to simply accept this?” Lauren pressed.

  “You don’t have a choice.”

“And you’d really do this to your children, Levi? What about them?”

“I just told you. I’m still committed to being their father.”

“Okay, what about everyone else? What will they think about you shacking up with your young whore? Do you think that I’m going to send my children over here into this environment?” her eyes fell to Nunnie’s stomach. “What will your parents think? I bet your dad won’t like this one bit.”

Nunnie tittered a tad, knowing that she could mop the floor with ole stringy haired Lauren, but there were several reasons that she shouldn’t and wouldn’t.

Levi shook his head. “See, that’s the problem, Lauren. Too many people’s opinions have dictated too much of my life for far too long. But that’s over. I’m my own man. I’ve created my own lane. I have my own money that no one can take from me, so I get to decide what’s appropriate. My dad’s feelings carry no weight over here, because he doesn’t go to sleep with me at night. So, you go tell whoever you want. None of them can force me to remain in something I’m no longer interested in. I told you years ago that I wasn’t happy. I cheated because there were things you simply couldn’t provide. And we kept trying to force something that obviously doesn’t work. Now I’m tired of trying.”

  “W
ait, Levi,” Nunnie interjected, garnering his attention. “She couldn’t season your chicken right. That’s it, aint it?”

Lauren whipped her head around. “What?”

Nunnie fell out laughing. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I couldn’t help myself. I had to throw that out there. You just look like you can’t cook and don’t have no rhythm. You’re one of them soulless white girls…and the older he gets, the less yall have in common. It was probably less noticeable when yall was younger and not settled into life. You don’t get him, as a Black man.”

Levi stood there staring at Nunnie, realizing that he’d vastly underestimated her. He’d assumed that he’d have to sit her down and talk for hours so that she’d understand his plight. Instead, she’d laid eyes on Lauren, and instantly knew what the deal was. Suddenly, he felt see-through, and he was wondering how long she had been seeing him for exactly who he was, while saying absolutely nothing about it. That notion had him feeling like he was now the prey in the situation, while he’d been seeing himself as the predator the entire time. Perhaps, Naveriah wasn’t as naïve as he’d convinced himself she was, and within her, he’d met his match.

Lauren was seething mad, as she watched Nunnie laugh in her face, but she was no fighter. If anything, she’d fight Levi in court, hit him in those pockets, make him feel her pain there. So, with nothing more to say, she grabbed her daughter’s hand. “Levia, let’s go.”

“Aww, we just got here,” Levia pouted.

“I know, but I’ll be by the house in a few days to pick you up, okay?” Levi promised.

“O-kay,” Levia dragged out, before Levi knelt, taking her into his arms, giving her a warm hug.

“Daddy loves you,” he kissed her forehead.

“I love you too,” Levia smiled.

“Good girl,” he breathed, as he released her. “Drive safely, Lauren.”

With a serious attitude Lauren stomped out of the apartment with Levia. Levi stepped up, locking the door behind them. He then turned around, facing Nunnie.
