Makin’ the Cut Page 21

by Rennie Rivera

“That was beautiful. Lukah, you know how to own a room, sir,” Fia comments before hugging him then me.

I’m caught completely off guard yet again. “Wait, you knew he was going to do this?”

Momma approaches from behind. “Well, baby girl, who do you think helped him plan it? Besides, it was your sisters idea to do it today.” She then hugs us both.

“Fia, is this true? You’re behind this? Today’s your day, silly. I’m surprised the attention whore willingly shared her spotlight with me.” I laugh.

“What can I say? I’m taking a page out of the Savannah Johnson book for hopeless romantics.” Fia pulls me in for a hug.

“Congratulations sissy. See, I knew she’d say yes, dude. I told you you had nothing to worry about.” Rhen teases Lukah before pulling me in for one of his bear hugs.

Now that was the surprise of a lifetime. People come up to congratulate us all night as we dance and enjoy the reception. Life just keeps getting better and better. I’ve truly got the best boyfriend, oops, I mean fiancé, my dream career, and the most amazing family that just keeps getting better.

All because I proved I can Make the Cut!

  About the Author

Rennie’s a single mom of three beautiful goddesses. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio but now currently calls Indiana home. She loves to read. It’s her favorite escape. She’s always believed you can travel anywhere by simply picking up a book and reading.

She always dreamed of a career in writing. As a little girl, she wanted to become a journalist, but was afraid her imagination was too much for the outside world. So, she hid away the short stories she wrote until her best friend introduced her to the indie world a couple of years ago. And boy was it was eye-opening. So many stories like those she had written and dreamed of for so long.

She started as a reader, then moved on to become a PA and eventually became an author. She absorbs advice from many authors along the way, authors who encourage her. She dabbles in not only contemporary but also paranormal romance too. Now, because of the encouragement of her family and friends, she gets to share them with you!
