“Everyone, wear NVGs. Remember, those things can’t see in the dark.” Jack said.

Men nodded and they fished NVGs from their bag and they wore it in their eyes. Now everything can be seen in a green colour. They slowly entered inside the small tree land and they moved forward.

  Chapter 6 – Sam

  2026 August 9, Earth, Chicago

Sam has been here in this refugee camp for three days now. He has been through a lot. He lost his parents and his ten year old sister. They took everything from him. Now the people inside this camp are his family.

He stood on the roof of the camp and examined the sky. He is not alone. His new friend, Lara, is also with him. They both are lying down on the roof with their back on the floor and they had spread out a blue plastic sheet over their body up to their neck for staying under the alien radar. A flying saucer flew over them with a swoosh. Flying saucer hardly gave attention to a small building in the maze of these mega story buildings.

“Do you think they will go away?” Lara asked.

  “Who?” Sam asked.

“The aliens, of course, who else?”

“I don’t know, maybe they have something else in their mind after killing all of us.”

“But would they kill all of us at once? I mean look at the tiger in a forest. It won’t kill all the deer at once. If they kill all of us, do you think that they will run out of blood?”

“You’re right. May be they will capture us and keep us alive like pigs for slaughter.”

“I don’t want to die, Sam.”

“Neither do I. If I am going to die, I don’t want to feel any pain.”

“I don’t think that’s possible. They will suck out blood and I guess you will know everything when they do that. I mean, they have to be enjoying their meal and they don’t like dead humans. So, they will keep us alive until we ran dry of blood.”

  “I hate them.” Sam said.

“I wonder who they killed before they came here. What if there are more planets like ours? And what if all those planets have human life?”

“I like to know that sort of things too. But, I guess I would never know.”

  “Why?” Lara asked.

“What if they kill us before we even unveils the biggest mysteries?”

“We will one day die, of course.”

  “Yeah. That’s true.”

“My mother once told me that if we die young we will reach heaven faster.”

“Then, why don’t you end your life?” Sam asked.

“Didn’t you studied from the church that killing yourself is against god?”

“I hardly gave attention to catechism.”

“Anyway, there is a saying that god calls the most virtues people to heaven in their young life. There are a number of young saints, you know.”

Sam thought about it and stared at the sky for some time.

“Ahh ... Help us. Please let us in.” Suddenly a series of cry came from the ground.

Sam and Lara quickly stood up and went near the edge of the roof, then they looked down. There are five men and two women crying to let them in. Their shirts are drenched in blood.

“Please let us in.” A woman cried.

Suddenly a screech came from near a building which is in the farthest corner of the city. Suddenly sound of opening of door came and the men and women rushed inside.

Sam and Lara quickly walked towards the exit door and they quickly got inside. They stood in the top level and stared at the new people below. A moment later all fifty nine inmates came to the living room with guns.

“Where are you coming from?” A tall man asked the new people.

“We are from the other city.” One of the new men said.

Some of the inmates quickly went near the window and checked outside. They saw no trouble.

“How do you know we were living in here?” The tall man asked the new people.

“We saw movement inside through the window.” One of the new women said.

Quickly the inmates relaxed and they all placed their guns in a corner. Then people went in different ways to do their job. The tall man and the new people continued to talk. Sam and Lara tuned their ears to hear the stories from the new people.

Suddenly it happened. One of the new men jumped on top of the tall man and he sunk his teeth on the tall man’s neck. It all happened very fast.

“Ahh ...” The building exploded in the tall man’s scream.

Before people realized their mistake all the new people jumped on top of the men and they sunk their teeth on the victims’ neck. Suddenly the front door opened and more people came inside the building. They all were vampires.

Sam and Lara quickly got outside, on the roof, and they locked the door. They breathed heavily.

“Who are they?” Lara began to cry.

“They are definitely not human.” Sam said.

  “What should we do?”

“We will wait here. And hush.”

Below the roof a massacre went on and scream of people lingered in the air. A few moments later the screams ended and Sam heard sound of footsteps going away from the building.

Sam and Lara lie down on the roof and fell in prayer. Their eyes leaked uncontrollably. They just lost their new family when they thought they will survive this together, somehow. Every dream got crushed by the aliens. Are they aliens too? Did they invented human meat suits?

Questions pop up inside Sam’s head violently. Before long sun began to set in the horizon.

  Chapter 7 – Jack Green

2026 August 9, Unknown Planet, Unknown Location

Jack Green and his men moved forward. Before long a screech came. Jack gestured at his team to get ready. Then they saw it. There is a big building just outside the forest. Jack and his men cautiously moved forward. Before long the whole place plunged in darkness but the soldiers clearly saw everything through their NVGs.

The yard of the building is illuminated by a candle fixed on a post. And there are aliens walking to and fro in the yard. Chatter in some unknown language filled the atmosphere. The whole building is lighted by candles.

Jack and his men peered at the scene. Soldiers quickly trained their gun at the aliens and waited.

“These things will sleep. Let’s wait for that.” Jack whispered.

  Jack’s men nodded.

They hid behind a shrub and waited and waited. Before long the building fell in silence and darkness conquered the building and its surrounding.

  “Use silenced shots.” Jack said.

Men quickly fished the silencers from their bags and they attached the silencers to the guns. Men didn’t wasted time there. They quickly cautiously exited the forest and entered inside the building’s perimeter. The yard is completely empty.

Five soldiers stood in the yard and rest of the soldiers and Jack entered inside the building through the door less doorway. Jack wondered why these things use door less buildings. In the living room they saw five aliens lying on the floor. Their rhythmic breathing filled the very air. Jack and team aligned a head shot and they pulled the trigger. Bullets sprayed out from the guns and hit the aliens’ head.

All five of the aliens stopped breathing. Soldiers quickly split into small teams and they all went in different direction. The low pitch sound of silenced shots filled the air.

A few minutes later Jack and team exited the building and the men who stood outside took a deep sigh of relief.

They all waited in the yard of the building for the morning sun to break in the horizon. No one spoke. They all stood in silence.

Before long morning light seeped in through the jungle foliage. Men removed their NVGs and they put it in their back packs. When sun rose fully in the horizon two flying saucers glided through the air over the forest with a swoosh.

Jack and team were about to leave when one of his men spotted another small building behind the first building. Jack and men quickly walked toward
s the small building. This small building looks like a slaughter house for pigs. Inside the small walls they found humans in chain. Jack and men quickly unlocked the chain.

“Are you guys from Earth?” Jack asked.

  “Yes.” A tall woman said.

Suddenly about five flying saucers flew over the building.

“We need to move.” Jack said. “And we need to find a portal back to Earth.”

  Everyone nodded.

Jack and the men quickly started their journey from there. When sun moved to its highest position Jack and his men spotted a city far away in their north direction. Jack and the group of survivors slowly moved towards the city.

  Chapter 8 – Matthew

2026 August 9, Gamorphia, Unknown Tower

Matthew and the survivors woke up by the sound of a flying saucer landing in the yard. Quickly Jackson and Matthew went near the window on the top level of the tower and peered outside. About ten aliens came out of the flying saucer and are examining the dead bodies of the aliens. A moment later they said something in an unknown language and the aliens screeched.

A few moments later more aliens came out of the flying saucers with stun guns. A few more minutes later five more flying saucers landed in the yard. Jackson nodded at his team to get ready. As soon as all the aliens came out of the flying saucers, Jackson and team armed flash grenades and they threw it towards the aliens.

Aliens quickly started to shoot at the windows.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

Flash grenades exploded and aliens screamed in pain. Jackson and Matthew looked outside and saw aliens lying on the ground there and there. Some of the aliens’ limbs got amputated in the explosion. Suddenly footsteps came from lower levels. The aliens are inside.

“Okay, team, shoot on sight.” Jackson said.

Matthew and others nodded. Lucy and team stayed inside the room in which Jackson is in.

Jackson’s men rushed through the stairs.

  Pop! Pop! Pop!

Gunfire erupted and aliens quickly went down. Within moments Matthew reached the yard. Only a few aliens now remains and Matthew shot down every last one of them.

  “Clear.” Matthew yelled.

Jackson, Lucy and everyone quickly got outside the tower and they stared at the scene. The amputated aliens are still alive and they wriggled from the ground.

“What should we do with these undead aliens?” Matthew asked.

“Let them rot alive. They don’t deserve to die quickly. They need to know what pain is. Let them feel the pain of dying slowly.” Jackson said.

  Everyone nodded.

Jackson quickly armed magnetic flash grenades and he put them inside the flying saucers.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

  Flying saucers exploded into pieces.

“Okay team. It’s time for us to get back to Earth.” Jackson said.

  Everyone nodded.

Jackson quickly led everyone to the portal that leads to Earth. They didn’t waste any time there. One by one they all entered inside the portal. Due to the high intensity light of the portal they had to close their eyes. When they opened their eyes they all found themselves in a dark room.

Matthew then spotted an exit door nearby and everyone walked through the exit door and entered into a big room. Sunlight seeped in through the windows.

“Ahh ...” Suddenly a survivor cried out loud.

Jackson and his men turned towards the origin of the sound and found an alien in human form sipping blood from a man.

  Pop!

Matthew didn’t wait. He shot down the alien. He quickly crouched down near the fallen man and checked for a pulse but found nothing.

  “Is he okay?” Jackson asked.

“He is long gone.” Matthew said.

  “Damn it.” Jackson muttered.

Lucy’s and her team’s face got filled with fear.

“Let’s get out of here.” Jackson said.

They quickly exited the building and ran through the road. They don’t know where they are, but they are pretty sure that they are on Earth.

Survivors slowly marched through the silent road. A river flowed in one side of the road and birds are enjoying their time in the sky.

  Chapter 9 – Johanna

2026 August 10, Unknown Planet, Unknown Location

It is a fortune that Jack Green and his team ended up in this ugly planet. If they hadn’t come, Johanna, Allen and rest of the people would have dead long time ago. Johanna and the survivors slowly walked deep into the wasteland. The city is still kilometres away.

A few minutes later everyone got really tired. Jack Green’s and his men’s supply of food completely got expended and they really need to find food or they will surely die due to hunger and thirst.

What’s the point in escaping the aliens if you die due to hunger?

Before long sun began to set in the horizon and the city fully came into view. Johanna and team pushed forward. They entered inside the city when sun went down in the horizon. Everything plunged in darkness, but everything can be seen faintly. Jack and his men wore NVGs and they moved forward. Jack’s men are walking by encircling Johanna and team who are vulnerable to alien attacks.

They didn’t covered much distance in the city when a screech came from their left. Suddenly two aliens jumped out of a building on their left. Jack’s men didn’t wait for anything.

  Pop! Pop! Pop!

Bullets sprayed and mutilated bodies of aliens dropped.

The sound of gunfire lingered in the air as an echo. Jack and team slowly moved forward. Then they saw a bright light coming from the centre of the city.

“It’s gotta be a portal.” Jack said.

Survivors quickly sprinted towards the source of light. Then they saw it in front of a building. The inter-dimensional portal. Fortunately no aliens are near the portal.

“Are we going inside?” One of Jack’s men asked.

“Yes. We don’t want to waste time here.” Jack said.

And that was it. Everyone slowly entered inside the portal. Before long they exited the portal and entered into another dimension.

Everyone opened their eyes and found themselves in the middle of a field. Silhouette of trees can be seen everywhere.

“Where are we?” One of the men with Johanna asked.

“People, welcome to Gamorphia.” Jack said.

  Chapter 10 – Allen

2026 August 10, Gamorphia, Unknown Tower

Everyone held their arms together and Jack and his men led everyone deeper into the Gamorphian landscape. Allen couldn’t recognise this place since everything is covered in darkness. Stars glimmered in the sky looking at the fellow survivors.

“We are going to that tower. That’s where the alien horde rests.” Jack said.

Then quickly Allen remembered the place.

“We know this place. Me and Johanna were here.” Allen said.

  “How?” Jack asked.

“We were in the ship Harmony.” Allen said.

“No way. You were a passenger of ship Harmony? I thought all of them died.” Jack said.

“Well, we are alive.” Allen said.

Jack nodded. They continued their journey. A few moments later they crossed a shallow stream and before long they entered inside the forest that hosts the tower.

“Everyone, keep silence. There could be more of those things.” Jack said.

  Everyone nodded.

They slowly entered inside the yard of the tower.

“Something is wrong. There used to be lighted candles in these lamp posts.” Jack said.

Then they found the reason. There is some sort of wreckage in the yard. Then they found dead bodies there and there. The tower is a mess with dead bodies.

“Looks like somebody got them before us.” Jack said.

“That means, our job in here is over.” One of Jack’s soldier said.

  “Right. Let
s get back to Earth.” Jack said.

The portal is intact and it stood just in front of Jack and his team.

They didn’t waste any time there. Everyone slowly entered into the portal and before long they exited the portal and entered into a dark room. Jack quickly led them outside the building and survivors hungrily looked at the moon.

  “We are home.” Allen said.

“Yes we are.” Jack said. “Let’s find a place to stay for the night.”

Night is very mature and they slowly walked through the road in the moon light.

  Epilogue

  2026 August 10, Earth, Chicago

Before long Morning sun broke in the horizon. Sam and Lara exited the roof and entered inside the building. They slowly climbed down through the stairs. Downstairs is a mess with dead bodies but not a single drop of blood had shed. Floor is completely empty of blood. The vampire aliens had dried everyone from blood. Victims’ bodies are very pale and their vacant eyes are still open.

  Lara began to cry.

“Now what would we do?” Lara asked.

“I don’t know. We can’t stay here among this dead bodies. Flies have started to come. Soon this whole building will be covered with flies. We have to find another building.” Sam said.

“How about the mall? We can get food from there.”

“That’s a good idea.” Sam said. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”

  “Okay.”

Before long they exited the small building where they had took refuge for the past few days and they started their walk through the road. The roads are completely desolated and there are mazes of abandoned cars there and there.

“Mall is in the next block, right?” Sam asked.

  “Yeah.” Lara said.

They are extra alerted and Sam often looked at the sky for any flying saucers. Suddenly a clattering sound came from far away within the city. Then the clattering continued to play in the background and it filled the former silent atmosphere.

Panic already started to creep through Sam’s and Lara’s legs. Before long they saw the mall. It’s very big and everything one need for his/her life is in there.

Sam and Lara slowly cautiously approached the front rotating door and Sam swung opened the door. Suddenly they stopped moving. In front of them on the floor sits dozens of men and what peculiar about them is, their lips are stained with blood. The men looked at Sam and Lara with deep red eyes.

  “Run.” Sam managed to say.

Lara and Sam ran through the road. Sound of pursuing footsteps lingered in the atmosphere. Sam and Lara turned around a building and Sam entered inside the building through the back door. He looked back but he didn’t saw Lara. It’s too late to turn back. The aliens are nearby. Sam quickly silently closed the back door and rushed through the stairs.
