The Man I Thought I Trusted Page 22

Because I got the bride right this time.

The last group of people left, and we said congratulations to the bride and groom before we filed inside. There were a few chairs, and the officiant was there. Renee and William walked in, holding hands.

“You afraid she’s going to stand you up?” Jeremy asked.

“She might,” Nathan said. “She’s a lot hotter than you.”

“No, she’ll be here,” I said. “Just wants to look perfect.”

A few minutes later, Carson stepped inside in her wedding dress, her friends around her all dressed up for the occasion. The white dress was tight around her petite waist, and the high slit allowed her gorgeous leg to emerge, all toned and tanned, sexy in her white heels. Her tits were pushed together in the low-cut front, and her hair was in sexy curls.

  Jesus Christ…that’s my wife.

Jeremy gave a nod of approval. “Damn.”

Carson smiled when she looked at me, like I was the only person in the room whom she noticed. Her friends walked with her then stayed back so it could just be the two of us in front of the officiant. She came to me and immediately wrapped her arms around my neck to kiss me, to disregard the customs of a wedding and just do whatever she wanted.

  I loved that about her.

I held her close as I kissed her, my arms squeezing her small frame against me. “You look beautiful, sweetheart.”

  “You do too.”

I kissed her again, forgetting that other people were there.

Charlie cleared his throat. “Are we going to see a wedding or…?”

  “Free porn?” Clint teased.

I smiled slightly before I released her and stepped back.

The officiant cleared his throat like he was uncomfortable with the make-out session we’d just had. “Alright, let’s get started.” With his bible tucked under his arm and his courthouse form in hand, he started the ceremony.

I barely listened, too engrossed in her beauty to pay attention to what he said. Her eyes were brighter than they’d ever been, and her lips were in a smile more genuine than I’d ever seen before. When she spoke, I was pulled back to what we were doing.

“I do.” She squeezed my hands.

The officiant turned to me. “Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife—”

  “Fuck yes.”

  Everyone laughed at my response.

Carson chuckled. “Oh, I’ll never forget that. I’ll tell our kids someday.”

The officiant continued. “I now pronounce you—”

Carson jumped into my arms and wrapped her legs around my waist, the slit in her dress opening to reveal her entire leg. Her lips moved to mine, and she kissed me hard.

It was the sexiest thing she’d ever done.

  Everyone clapped and cheered.

The officiant continued. “Husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

My hands gripped her ass as I held her, kissing her like no one was in the room; it was only us two. Our lives had just begun, but I was eager to live through it all, to have babies with her, to grow old with her, to look back on our lives and know we lived it to the fullest—with each other.

I sat on the edge of the bed, stripped down to my boxers, looking at my bride as she stood in front of me. We were in our penthouse, and we had all night before we left on our honeymoon tomorrow afternoon. But it didn’t feel like the penthouse I’d lived in for almost a decade. It felt like a special place because everything was different now.

  Carson was my wife.

She stood before me and slowly unzipped the back of her dress, taking her time as she stripped in front of me, letting the white material slowly come loose from her body and slide down her body, revealing the see-through white teddy underneath, the crotchless bottom that would allow me to have her without even taking it off.

I liked it just as much as her dress.

She stepped out of her dress then walked to me in her sky-high heels, leaving them on so she could strut to me like a goddamn fantasy.

Fuck…I wasn’t going to last long.

She straddled my hips and sat on my lap, my arms securing her to me so she wouldn’t fall back. Her arms circled my neck, and she looked into my face for a moment, seeing my reaction to her, feeling my hardness through my boxers.

She leaned in and kissed me on the mouth slowly, so slow that it was agonizing, and then she gradually picked up speed, her hands exploring my chest and shoulders, her wet pussy soaking the front of my boxers.

She placed her palms against my shoulders and gently pushed me back, bringing me flat on the bed. She tugged my boxers down then leaned over me, prepared to arch her back and ride me, consummate this marriage in the sexiest way possible.

My hands dug into her hair and pulled it from her face so I could look at her as she slid down my length until I was entirely buried within her. Her lips parted as she released a quiet moan, like it was our first time, like every sensation was brand-new.

My hands gripped her ass, and I released a loud moan, like a caveman who couldn’t control his response.

When she was finally full of me, her palms flattened against my chest, and she started to rock into me, ride my length to my base then slowly come up again. She made love to me as her husband, taking me with a gentleness that was so sexy it made my body go weak.

My feet pressed against the frame of the bed, and I lifted my hips to slide inside her, to match her pace, to savor every sensation between our wet bodies. “Sweetheart…”

She leaned forward so she could bring her face close to mine. “It’s Mrs. Frawley…”

Another groan escaped my lips, a loud explosion, a tremble that overtook my entire body. I never asked her to change her last name because I assumed she would refuse. Guess I was wrong. And the fact that she did…was the sexiest thing ever. “Goddamn, Mrs. Frawley.”

  Dax

I pulled up to the curb and parked.

Kent and Melanie sat on the bench together, both wearing their backpacks as they waited for me to pick them up. They didn’t notice me because they were both looking down at the ground at a bug.

  I honked my horn.

They both looked up then walked to the car.

Kent got into the passenger seat beside me, and Melanie got into the back.

  “Hey, Dad,” Kent said.

I moved my fingers into his hair for a quick rub before I pulled onto the road. “Hey, son. How was school?”

“Boring.” He looked out the window. He was ten years old, getting to the age when he was less excited about things than he used to be.

I looked in the rearview mirror at Melanie in the back. “What about you, honey?”

“I fed a squirrel some nuts at recess.” She kicked her feet back and forth as she looked out the window, still wearing her pink backpack. She was a few years younger than her brother. She had Carson’s green eyes and also her feistiness.

“Are you supposed to be doing that?” I asked as I kept my eyes on the road.

“Probably not,” Melanie said. “But I don’t care.”

I smiled slightly as I kept driving. “Doesn’t surprise me.”

I drove to the penthouse and parked in the underground garage before we rode the elevator to our floor. When we walked in, I got them both seated at the dining table so they could work on their homework. I made them a snack then got to work on making dinner.

Carson texted me. I’m going to be late tonight. The guy I’m interviewing is late…asshole.

It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.

  How are the kids?

Doing their homework. I’m making dinner.

  What’s on the menu?

  Tacos.

Goddammit…this motherfucker better hurry the hell up.

LOL. They’ll be here when you get back.

Kent spoke from the dining table. “Dad, I don’t know what the teacher wants me to do…”

I put the phone down. “I’ll be
right there, son.” Carson had different hours than I did, so she didn’t pick up the kids from school often. I had reduced my hours at the office, but Renee and I decided to share the CEO position since we both had kids now and just didn’t have the time to be in charge fully. Carson made up for her absence by taking care of the kids all day on the weekends.

It allowed me to sleep in—which was a godsend.

The four of us sat together at the dining table, eating our tacos and talking about our day.

“Your dad tells me you fed a squirrel today?” Carson asked as she poured more hot sauce on her tacos.

“Yep,” Melanie said. “I see him every day at recess and give him my food.”

“You give him food every day?” Carson asked incredulously. “Baby, I make that food for you, not a squirrel.”

“But you’re always telling me to share…” Melanie dropped her gaze and pushed her dinner around.

Carson’s eyes softened as she looked at our daughter. “True…but I meant with other kids, not animals. But that’s very sweet, Melanie.” She turned to Kent. “How was your day?”

“I suck at math,” Kent spat out. “Dad’s been helping me, but…”

  “I’ll help you tomorrow, alright?”

When we finished dinner, Carson did the dishes and then sat with them on the couch, watching TV and spending time with them so I could have some alone time in our room, going over emails and paperwork with the game on in the background.

After she put them to bed, she walked into the bedroom and stepped into my closet. “Now, it’s my favorite part of the day.”

“Yeah?” I grinned as I shut my laptop and set it on my nightstand.

She stepped out of the walk-in closet in a black teddy and garters.

I looked her up and down and gave a quiet whistle.

“I’m gonna give my husband a nice blow job for being such a good father.”

I interlocked my fingers behind my head and gave a shrug. “I’m a good father because I want to be, but I’m not gonna say no to that.” I nodded toward my lap. “Come on down, sweetheart. Show me what you got.”

She got onto the bed and started to crawl toward me. “Oh, I will…”
