  “What?”

Lyla held up her hand, “It was superficial, but she was legit scared. Ibu ran to a watcher. My mom sent her and the rest of the team back to the school.”

  “And you got to stay?”

Lyla smiled at him, “I had to keep an eye on you. After all you kept an eye on me.”

There was a knock at the door, followed by Illoa entering, “I see you are awake. Good,” She turned to Lyla, “Now get your butt back to that damn school!”

Lyla smiled at Goru again, “See you on campus.” She headed out the door to try and find her way back to the portal that brought her here. She figured Goru would be right behind her, as soon as he got dressed.”

Goru watched Lyla leave. He turned his attention to the doctor, “Why am I in the med center?”

  “Lyla didn’t tell you?”

“We hadn’t gotten far enough for me to ask,” Goru grimaced.

The doctor sat on the foot of his bed, much like Tina had, “You reacted to the sedative in the stun capsule. You went into anaphylaxis. Your friend Faith saved your life. I had you brought here for observation. You have been out about twenty-six hours.”

“How much longer do I need to stay here?”

“You can leave shortly. I’ll go prep the paperwork, I’ll let you get dressed,” The doctor left the room.

Alone momentarily, Goru considered where he came from. Not even two months ago his life had been hell. He had worshiped his father’s memory and hated all things Mae Amante. His whole world had revolved around keeping his sisters safe.

Goru considered where he came from for a moment longer then turned his considerations on where he stood. He got out of bed and hunted down his clothes. He was actually relieved his team rescued him from his father. He would rather count himself among them than be at his father’s side. Goru dressed. He was ready to go out and bring his father to justice and rescue his sister.

The doctor returned, “Mr. Nattan, how are you feeling?”

  Goru shrugged, “Great I guess.”

"Then I release you to do as you please. Listen very carefully to this next bit. I can expedite passage through the portal if you want to join your father willingly,” She stated.

Goru frowned, “I think I’ll wait until I am ready to bring the bastard to justice for what he’s done.”

“Good answer,” the doctor handed him a portal key, “Your friends are waiting.”

Goru smiled, nothing sounded sweeter than that.
