Fourteen months after their engagement, Danny and Vivienne were married in a small chapel on the outskirts of Savannah with a few of their closest family and friends in attendance. Rach, with her protruding belly and radiant pre-baby glow, stood as Vivienne’s maid of honour. Her husband, Luis, who made a full and complete recovery following his accident, stood next to Danny as his best man. Nick was there too, of course, beaming from ear to ear all decked out in a dark grey suit and tie. He carried the happy couple’s wedding bands in a special wooden box Danny had made etched with the words His and Hers on top.
Nick underwent his final heart procedure, successfully and without complication, just in time to pick his room in the three-bedroom, two-storey house Danny and Vivienne closed on, right outside the city limits. The downpayment and closing costs for their new home were paid for out of Vivienne’s inheritance, something they know in their hearts Big Mike would have encouraged. Vivienne and Danny couldn’t be happier knowing that his memory will always be a part of the new family they’ve created.
The Goat finally came out of storage and found its place in their oversized garage next to Danny’s motorcycle. And the big backyard longs for future children, and maybe even a wolf-looking dog to come and play. Vivienne and Danny agree that they won’t wait too long before making Nick a big brother, a fact that excites Rach and Luis who aren’t shy about reminding the couple the fun they’ll have raising their kids together.
Their life is crazy and full of love, but it’s the type of forever crazy that Vivenne dreamed of, Danny promised, and they choreographed together.
