Chapter 1
“Yeah, you bet I’m going!” Billy Markstock told Jeff as they exited homeroom. It was their senior year in high school and Billy had been looking forward to the senior trip all year.
Being the son of an influential Judge had its benefits. Billy was given the best of everything...the best education, the best vacations, the best clothes...the best everything. While he had been almost anywhere his heart desired, Billy had never had the opportunity to go on vacation with just his friends from school. It was going to be his time to shuck the private school jacket and tie and cut loose. He was going to drink all he wanted and finally get into Jessica Leigh’s pants. It was going to be epic!
“My step-mom’s being a bitch and won’t sign the permission slip, but she doesn’t know who she’s messing with,” Jeff laughed.
Billy and Jeff had been friends for as long as they can remember, but sometimes Billy wondered why they remained friends. Jeff could be an asshole, and not just the typical cocky jock type of asshole. No, he could be downright ruthless and sadistic. Billy had no doubt that Jeff would get his step-mom to sign the permission slip for the trip, probably with the help of a little blackmail.
“Well, I’d better get to class,” Billy made an excuse. He didn’t really like talking to Jeff when he was bad-mouthing his step-mom. His own mom had died when he was ten and the whole subject just brought it all back to life for him. He could remember it like it was just a week ago. They were heading home from Billy’s last soccer game of the season, when a semi-truck swerved into their lane and forced Billy and his mother off the road. The car spun around and only stopped as it hit a tree. Billy was knocked unconscious, but when he woke up he was already in the hospital. He begged and begged to see his mother, but was finally told that she had passed away. Later, he would find out she had died instantly upon impact with the tree. Billy wasn’t allowed to go to the trial of the truck driver, but had followed what he could through the newspapers. Apparently, the driver of the semi had been working a double shift and had fallen asleep. He was very apologetic, but that didn’t matter to Billy. It wouldn’t bring his mother back to him.
“Okay, catch ya later,” Jeff replied, bringing Billy back to reality as he was punched in the arm by his best friend.
“What? Oh, yeah,” Billy answered back. For the next hour, he could barely keep his mind on his class work. The memories of him mom made him sad, but he hung to them tightly. It was at least a chance to see her again...to hear her voice again. It took a long time for Billy to be able to function and laugh again after losing her. At one point he was going to a shrink four times a week. Eventually, he did return to as much of a normal life as was possible. Unfortunately, his father never did return to the man Billy had once known him to be. He immersed himself into his work and made Billy feel invisible. It was never said aloud, but Billy knew his father blamed him for the wreck, and for losing his wife.
As Billy daydreamed, he was completely unaware that his teacher, Mr. Simon, had been asking him a question.
“Dude,” Brandon, the boy who sat behind Billy, whispered as he tapped Billy on the back in an attempt to get his attention.
“What?” Billy looked around, bewildered.
“What, indeed, Mr. Markstock” Mr. Simon answered with a smug smile. “We are all waiting on you to answer the question written on the board.”
Billy had picked the wrong class to not be paying attention in. Mr. Simon was known as one of the hardest teachers at St. Vincent’s Academy. Fortunately, for Billy, the bell sounded before he had a chance to answer the question on the blackboard.
“Study the review questions at the end of chapters eleven through sixteen for your test next week,” Mr. Simon announced to the class as the students made their way out into the hallway. “And, Mr. Markstock, you can stay behind, please!”
Billy hung his head in defeat. He should’ve been faster getting out of class. He waited for the las
t of the students to leave class, and Mr. Simon to close the classroom door before making his plea. “I’m sorry,” he began but was cut short.
“I don’t want to hear it,” Mr. Simon answered. “You know you’re failing my class, right?” It wasn’t really a question. Both Billy and Mr. Simon knew what Billy’s grades were like in the class. He would need a miracle if he was to pass.
“I can do better,” Billy promised, but he had said the same thing before. The truth of the matter was he really just didn’t understand the subject matter. It was a literature class, and the material they were reading just went over his head. Even when he thought he understood something, his views and Mr. Simon’s interpretation differed.
“I’m afraid that it may be too little too late,” Mr. Simon replied. His eyes softened, and for the first time Billy could see his teacher as someone who actually wanted to see him succeed. “You need an ‘A’ on the upcoming final to pass the semester. And, if you don’t pass, you are not eligible to go on your class trip.”
“But, Mr. Simon, that’s impossible!” Billy cried. He knew he had no hope of getting an ‘A’ on the test. He would be lucky if he got a ‘D’.
“Normally, I’d agree with you, Mr. Markstock, but with the help of a tutor, you just may have a chance.”
Billy cringed at the idea. “You know what being tutored would do to my rep?” he asked his teacher. “No, I can’t do that.”
“Have it your way, but it’s either that or no Senior Trip. Your choice.” And with that, Mr. Simon took his seat behind his desk and focused his attention on the homework papers he had still not graded. It was apparent to Billy that their conversation had ended.
Chapter 2
Billy made his way to the gym for Lacrosse practice, thinking about what Mr. Simon had said. He didn’t want to get a tutor, but he wasn’t able to find any other solution to his problem. If a tutor could get him to his Senior Trip, it would be worth it.
“Hey, dude, what was with you?” Brandon asked Billy at his locker. “What’d Mr. Simon want?”
Billy thought about making up something but it was common knowledge that he was failing Mr. Simon’s literature class so he decided to just be honest. “He said I need to get a tutor.”
“A tutor!” Brandon laughed. By this time, Jeff had joined the group and was wondering what Billy and Brandon were talking about.
“You need a tutor?!?,” he asked his best friend, though it was less of a question and more a way to ridicule Billy.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very funny, I’m flunking Literature,” Billy answered dryly. “If I don’t pass this last test of the semester, I don’t get to go on the Senior Trip.”
Suddenly, everyone’s smiles faded. It was fun to tease and mock each other, but no one wanted Billy to miss the Senior Trip. He was the center of their group and it would be hard to have fun knowing he wasn’t there.
“Dude, you gotta get that tutor, then,” Jeff replied seriously. “Just think about Jessica Leigh.”
With the mere mention of the head cheerleader’s name, the locker room was once again alive with the sounds of hooting and hollering.
“Don’t you worry your pretty little face,” Billy told his best friend as he playfully slapped Jeff’s face. “I’ll be there. Me and Jessica Leigh have some long overdue plans, if you get my drift.”
Before Jeff could retaliate, Coach ordered everyone onto the field. Billy spent the next forty-five minutes taking out his aggressions on the field during practice. He was on fire. There was a reason why he was captain of the team. By the time practice was over, Billy felt energized and more like himself again.
As he stripped off his gear, and made his way to the showers, the hot streams of water melted away the last of the stress he was feeling. If he had the choice, he would skip his next class and just stay in the showers for the next hour. He didn’t have an hour, though. Only fifteen minutes, and that was pushing it. Still, he took his time washing himself, as he lathered the soap on his hairless body, he reveled in the feel of his tight muscles. He looked around at the other guys in the showers, taking in their lean, hot bodies. He knew, though, that as hot as they were, his body was hotter. Just the thought of it started to give him a hard-on. He turned his back towards the wall, taking the opportunity to caress his growing dick. He wanted to jack off so much, but he resisted. He had a date the next night with Jessica Leigh and wanted to remain fully loaded for the occasion. He planned on showing her a night she would remember for a very long time.
“Alright, let’s wrap it up!” the coach yelled. It took a few minutes for Billy to calm down and even that required him to turn off the hot water and rinse off using ice cold water instead.
“Looks like you were enjoying that shower,” Jeff teased when Billy made it back to his locker. So much for his raging hard-on going unnoticed.
“Why you looking at my dick?” Billy asked his best friend with a smile. “Ya jealous?”
Rather than respond, Jeff ripped off Billy’s towel and started towel snapping his best friend’s ass.
“Knock it off, homo!” Billy yelled, but it was all just in good fun. By the time the guys stopped horsing, the bell had sounded. Billy quickly threw on his clothes, barely getting his shoes on before stumbling his way out of the gym. He even had to tuck his shirt in as he ran to his next class. The fact that he was still dressing was not missed on the girls he passed in the hallways. He could see the look of desire on their faces as he tucked his shirt into his half-unzipped pants. He knew he was sexy, but reminders from the fairer sex never hurt. He lived for those moments.
He watched the clock during his last class, anxiously waiting for the end of the day to arrive so he could see Jessica Leigh. When the bell finally rang, Billy was the first one out the door. By the time Jessica Leigh emerged from her trigonometry class, Billy was waiting.
As she stepped out the door, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his embrace and planting his lips over hers before she could protest.
“What’s that for?” she laughed, pulling away slightly. Jessica Leigh was the female version of Billy at the school. She was by far the most popular and most beautiful. Any girl in school would’ve sold their soul to the devil to have her smooth alabaster skin, long wavy auburn hair, or emerald green eyes.
“Do I have to have a reason to kiss my girlfriend?” Billy answered with a charming smile. “Maybe I just missed you.”
Jessica Leigh looked at him with suspicion, but just laughed and took his hand. When they reached the parking lot she turned towards Billy and kissed him before telling him she had to go.
“I thought I was taking you home,” Billy said, confused.
“I know, but I forgot my sister is picking me up. I promised to go help her pick out a wedding dress.” Jessica Leigh’s older sister was getting married in a few months. She was three years older than Jessica Leigh, and it was often hypothesized that she and Jessica Leigh had different fathers or parents all together. While Jessica Leigh was tall, with the looks of a supermodel, her sister, Rebecca, was the opposite. Rebecca had a more rotund figure, and splotchy skin. Her only saving quality was her personality. She was very bubbly and it was hard not to smile and be in a good mood when around her. Billy assumed that was the quality that landed her a fiancé.
“Okay. But we’re still on for tomorrow night, right?” Billy reminded Jessica Leigh.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” Jessica Leigh told him and planted one last kiss on his cheek. He watched as she walked away and got into her sister’s car.
Chapter 3
After watching Jessica Leigh drive away with her older sister, Billy turned to head to his own car. As he did, he collided with a nerdy kid he vaguely recognized.
“Watch it!” he yelled, aggravated still over not getting to drive his girlfriend home. As he watched the kid re-gather his scattered books off of the sidewalk, Billy softened. “I’m sorry, man. Let me help you.”
“I c-can d-d-do it,” the kid stuttered.
r /> Billy wasn’t sure if the kid was afraid of him or what, but he knew the accident was his fault and wanted to help so he continued gathering the books and folders. “Here,” he said as he held the books out to the shy, nerdy kid.
“Thank you,” the boy answered back, though it was little more than a whisper.
Billy waited for the kid to leave, but the boy just stared back at him. “What?” Billy finally asked.
“I-I-I was told to come and talk to y-y-you,” the boy answered back.
Billy was confused. He wasn’t even sure the boy knew who he was. And, even if he did, why would he be looking for him? “Are you sure it’s me you’re looking for?”
“Y-Y-Yes. You’re Billy Marstock, r-r-right?”
“Yep. That’s me.” Billy waited to see what this encounter was all about.
“W-Well, Mr. Mr. Mr. Simon s-s-said you needed a t-tutor,” the boy finally replied, though it took a while.
Finally, it was all making sense. The boy before Billy was his tutor. The thought caused a slight smile to form on his lips as he wondered how a guy that could barely talk to him could teach him about literature. It wasn’t funny, though. He needed this kid. It was his last hope.
“Okay, well, how about you start off by telling me your name,” Billy told the boy.
“St-Stuart,” the boy answered.
Billy felt sorry for the little nerd. Stuart could barely look him in the eyes and sounded so scared that Billy was afraid he would wet himself at any second. “First off, it’s nice to meet you, Stuart,” Billy announced. “Second, you have got to calm down. Stop being so nervous.”
Stuart took a deep breath and took something from his pocket. As he held it up to his mouth, Billy could see it was an inhaler. “Sorry. I-I just don’t talk to jocks m-much,” Stuart explained looking more confident before realizing that he may have just insulted Billy by calling him a ‘jock’.
Billy, sensing what was going through Stuart’s head, quickly put his mind at ease. “It’s okay,” he laughed, “I am a jock!” Once Stuart was breathing regular again, Billy asked him when he wanted to start the tutoring.
