“I think I’m suffering a failure of imagination.”

She tilted her head, “What do you mean?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know what I don’t know, I haven’t thought of any spells really at all in the last couple of days, no new ones anyway, I think I have most situations covered. But, it may simply be a lack of imagination.”

  She nodded, “So…”

I smiled, “I was wondering. You’re teaching all the spheres of basic magic right now, and those concepts. I don’t need to learn the language or words for spells, but maybe I could join the class just for the concept parts? It might help me learn new things, and generate new ideas. Eventually you’ll get to the point where it gets too complicated, and I can’t keep up with my magic anymore and I’ll have reached my full potential. It makes sense, because I’ll also be teaching my people some of it, if not all of what they can do.”

She tilted her head, and licked her lips teasingly, “Will you call me mistress?”

I smiled, “That could be fun, mistress. Any ideas on how a humble pupil can earn those lessons from his ravishingly beautiful and sensual teacher?”

Sianna gasped, and I shot her a wink. She looked scandalized, amused, and a little turned on by my and Karana’s little game. Not that she hadn’t seen us flirt heavily before, but not to the extent of roleplay.

She chuckled throatily, “I think I can manage to organize things that way, but usually I teach the language with the concepts, separated might not work as well for Sianna and Saria.”

I nodded, “So, that’s why you usually teach me separately? I don’t mind that part, I’ll just ignore that part of your lesson and absorb and think about what I can apply. Oh, before I forget, Irwin wasn’t interested, but there are other mages here now who may be if you track them down.”

She nodded, “When we get back I think. So, the lessons? We probably should have done that sooner. You’ve missed a couple of weeks’ worth of the basics, though I’ve already taught you a lot of that separately, why don’t you join tomorrow, and I’ll catch you up in private over a month or so, if you earn it of course.”

Saria giggled, and Sianna smirked and waited for my reply to that.

“Yes mistress,” I said in a deep longing and devoted voice. It wasn’t even hard to fake, I was devoted to my wives, and I really wanted to pleasure her in that moment, so the longing wasn’t much of a stretch either.

I think I shocked them all, when I dropped to my knees, crawled under the table, and stuck my head inside the bottom of my silver-raven-haired beauty’s robes. It was kind of a thrill, doing that in front of my other three mates, and I feasted on her until she called my name and came undone on the tip of my tongue.

  I’d totally earned my lesson.

  Chapter Nine

  “You’re a strange man, husband.”

I smirked at Sianna, and then squeezed her hand. I’d given her a tour of sorts of the city, as well as our partially completed manor, and we were walking toward the site of the college, where she would give me a tour. She’d seen it built after all.

Regina was off helping Karana track down the mages, she’d changed her mind and decided giving them two months’ notice before it opened up was better than just one when we got back. Saria was off checking on her people, making sure they had what they needed, and that they’d be ready the morning after tomorrow to move out. Honestly, we probably had gotten enough done to leave tomorrow, but we all wanted at least two days of rest, relative rest in the city, before getting back on the road.

It would give us a lazy day tomorrow, to relax. At least, that was my plan.

  “In what way?”

She shrugged, “You know you could have just told her to teach you.”

I smiled, “Yes, I am head of the house, but I want my mates to be happy. Women love to negotiate I’ve found, so why would I lay down the law on everything? I’m… your husband, not a despot. Besides, I enjoy it too, all aspects of my negotiations with Karana, from the flirting to what I did under the table. We both know she’d teach me even if I didn’t make her scream my name, but the game is fun.”

Sianna blushed, which was cute, she was innocent in some ways, and in others, like politics, she was ruthlessly ambitious and made me look like the baby. When it came to me, she tended more towards submissive, like Regina.

I asked, “What would you do if I told you to get on your knees?”

It was an obvious question, and something I’d already done more than once. Regina liked orders, and being held down. Sianna didn’t like being held down, not totally anyway, but she did get a thrill in following my orders, and not just in the bedroom. I wasn’t sure why, but that was our game. She seemed to get a perverse thrill out of me treating her like an ornament, I suspected part of that was because I never truly would, but in truth I wasn’t sure about her motivation completely, I just knew she got sexually excited by it. In the end, I didn’t have to understand why, I just had to play the game she… we, enjoyed.

She looked up at me with her beautiful innocent face, and said sweetly, “I’d suck your huge gorgeous cock, until you filled my mouth.”

  I nodded, “Why?”

She looked thoughtful for a minute, “Because I respect you, and I love you. You make me feel safe, and I love to give you pleasure. I like the way it makes me feel both submissive, and powerful, as I give you pleasure, and you make those noises for me. The way your body jerks, and the way you firmly take my hair. It also makes me feel a little naughty and dirty, and I like that too. That willingness to drop to my knees and please you on command, it always makes me wet for you. Maybe because I’m a princess and have always been spoiled, it just seems wrong but also oh so right, if you know what I mean.”

Fuck, I totally lost my thought process after that hot and sexy little speech. Took me a second to find it.

“So why should I be any different? I love to give you pleasure, and the rest of our family too. Karana and I dress it up in flirting, and a playful power struggle, but that’s just the dressing and fun for us. I do it because I love her and respect her, and love to bring her pleasure, and she does the same for me for the same reason.

“Our games for the fun and thrill of it are a little different than mine with Karana, but underneath it all, it’s the same thing. We love to pleasure each other, and we respect each other. Our game is just more slanted toward what’s considered normal in society, normal and bad in my opinion, if done in truth, but fun with you.”

She sighed breathily, “I understand, I already mostly did, but that doesn’t make it less strange, or make me less grateful, for finding a mate both so confusing and so wonderful.”

I paused long enough to kiss her softly, but quite thoroughly. She felt amazing in my arms, and she melted against my body.

She said a little breathily, “So, can I?”

I asked in a firm voice, “Get on your knees and suck me off? I’ll think about it. If you’re a good girl, I’ll allow you to pleasure me when we get inside the building, but only if you ask nicely.”

She shivered, and not in a bad way, “That’s so wrong,” she said breathily.

I nodded and smirked, “Yep, it really is wrong, but your wet right now, aren’t you? Just the thought of you having to ask for the privilege of sucking me off has you hot, doesn’t it?”

She blushed furiously, which I supposed was answer enough. She was also quite enthusiastic about her task, once we entered the building, and hearing her ask permission to do it in a soft pleading honey-toned voice beforehand? What had she said? It was so wrong, but oh so right at the same time.

Of course, her being a trophy wife and compliant sex toy under my whims was just a naughty game we liked to play, and not at all reality, but that added spice to our already very strong physical attraction and chemistry. It was just the first time we’d both openly acknowledged what we were doing. It was no more wrong than restraining Regina was, or wrestling either of my elves to decide who was on top. It was ho
t, but I’d never let it go to my head and believe she was anything but a lady, and a powerful woman outside of our bedroom games.

No more than I was Karana’s pupil and inappropriately seduced boy toy, but I’d damned well be kneeling for her again to earn my lessons. I’d also be calling her mistress during class, I could hardly wait in fact.

In reality, Sianna was my beloved mate, one of the precious loves of my life. So, I didn’t leave her hanging when she was done, after I’d unloaded down her tight throat, it was my turn.

Her sweet dulcet sounds of pleasure were just as precious to my ears, as mine were to hers, when I lavished her pussy and tight supple ass with oral attentions, and then I took her hard and fast against the wall. Then we cuddled, and softly caressed each other lovingly and tenderly before we started the tour. I always felt the need to express my love after we were a little rough together, and Sianna loved it. All of my mates loved to cuddle, but I’d have to say she loved it the most.

The place was both bigger and smaller than I’d expected. The stables were separate, and about a hundred feet away from the school itself. The entryway was a large two-story high rotunda, with various stone benches and a dirt circle in the middle that would probably have a tree in it at some point. It was empty for now of course, just a stone skeleton of a building.

Past that in the first hallway, were various meeting rooms and offices. The main building was in the form of four boxes. Basically, a big square hallway surrounded the outside of the school past the rotunda, and were in turn bisected by two hallways. There were only four classrooms, all of them in the front smaller squares, two across from the offices and then two on the other side with doors in the middle hallway. Though we expected to only need two, possibly three.

The two back squares were split up into two libraries the size of the large classrooms, though there was no shelving or anything in yet. The other square was split up into sixteen much smaller rooms, which would all be warded, where students could try out new spells and be tested on what they’d learned. That was pretty much the main part of the building. Through the main hallway that cut through the back, led into a long thinner section of the building where there were fifty small dorm room type rooms, for the students. There were also four small washrooms scattered in the long wing.

Beyond that, was another much smaller building, which was pretty much just a large dining area, and a kitchen that was big enough to cook meals for fifty. Of course, right then the rooms were empty, and the only indication it was a kitchen at all were the vent holes for the ovens, and the large stone basin sinks.

It was a big place, and we’d make a difference. Of course, my part would be done in two years or so, Karana would be teaching mages a lot longer, and I had a feeling given she was a powerful elven mage there would be a lot of mages showing up hoping for advanced instruction.

Maybe it would grow, maybe it wouldn’t. I supposed central schooling could become a thing here, but being a mage was dangerous, so I thought it unlikely. Mages were powerful, and ones in training could be very dangerous, it truly would be preferable to have a master and apprentice thing once the initial rush was over with. It was a temporary measure at best, but I also hoped to make a place where mages and sculptors could get together, and freely share discoveries, new spells, and make contacts.

Perhaps other mages would take a look at us and set something up outside their cities. Sera would probably order it done, after she waited long enough to make sure Karana’s and my school didn’t crash and burn.

“So, you plan to get a mutual defense treaty, and maybe a yearly tent trade village?”

Sianna tilted her head, “That will probably be where we end up, but I’m going to ask for a lot more than that. Politics is like war, or like haggling. I need to aim for everything, open trade and treaties that tie us together closely, and then grudgingly accept a paltry mutual defense treaty later, and sigh about only getting to trade one week a year, but long-sufferingly accepting it.”

I smirked, “When it was your goal the whole time?”

She nodded, “Exactly. Not to say I don’t hope for closer ties than that, but realistically it may take the rest of my life to get us there. I’d like to see our ambassadors in their cities, and them in ours. Yearlong trade of more than just magical herbs and flowers. A true partnership of peace. That will take a long time, and it might never get there, but if I have to I’ll fight for it by inches.”

  “You’re incredible, love.”

She blushed, “Most men would call it pushy, possibly bitchy.”

I shook my head, “I’m in awe of you, it makes me love you more, and it even turns me on a little.”

She frowned, “My ambition turns you on?”

“Not the specific goal, it’s your passion and strength, your convictions. Love is strong on its own, but love plus admiration takes things to a whole other level. I am… proud to be your mate.”

She smiled shyly, “Good to know.”

Also, that she submitted to me despite them. It was like… the women here weren’t in competition, and they had nothing to prove. At least, not my mates. They knew they were strong, and making me head of the house didn’t change that fact for them, nor did it make me see them as lesser or weaker in any way.

It was a good way to do things, it worked well in my opinion, when the men were good men. The downside of course, was that some men did abuse their wives, not all, but it happened. But then, it happened in my old world too, just not as often. At least in the states, it might be even more common on my old world in some countries. All I could do was try to alleviate that, like we had in Eastguard. The queens rule seemed to be helping with that as well. It was a sticky issue, and humans were complicated. My point had been originally, that for me and my mates the status quo was working, and we were all happy.

She said, “Of course, now that I’m a mage I’ll be very focused on that otherwise, along with you and our children. I feel good about it. Thanks for showing me around our home, I feel… better now that I know where we’ll be living, working, and raising our kids.”

“What did you think of the council?”

She looked at me in the eyes for a moment, and then smiled widely as she turned away. I wondered if I would ever stop surprising her, when I truly asked for her opinion in matters.

“Jaren is tired, and he wants out so he can play with his soldiers. He’s… a wartime general, and he knows it, which is why he defers to Tam now that your rebellion is over. Tam is a caring sweet man, who loves the city and looks out for all the people in it.”

I looked at her in surprise, “He’s irascible, and hates it?” I said in an unsure tone.

Sianna smirked, “An act. He doesn’t want people to depend on him or try to take advantage. He helps them help themselves, just pointing them in the right direction. He acts that way to stop them from all coming to him with every little problem. They’ll all be reluctant to disturb him unless they really need the help.”

  “Huh, I didn’t see that.”

I wasn’t surprised by her insights, she was very young and innocent in some ways, delightedly so, but when it came to politics and motivations, she was far sharper than I was.

Sianna squeezed my hand, “I was raised in politics, and I’m good at judging people’s motives, except yours, because I wouldn’t believe what I was seeing. Still don’t sometimes. You’ve been shocking me ever since I saw the disgust in your eyes, at the idea of getting to screw several young and attractive maids with no strings attached.”

“Hence me being a very strange man.”

She giggled, and bit her lip, “Exactly, my love. To my joy.”

  Chapter Ten

The rest of the day went well, as did the next. I healed a few more people the next day, the word had spread I’d be gone another couple of weeks to a month, then would be here for quite a long time before I had to leave again. That meant anyone putting off getting healed decided they’d better take care of it before I was g
one again. The rest of that day before we left the five of us just relaxed in our suite, and we did as little as possible outside of a quick lesson in magic that I joined.

And yes, I did address Karana as mistress in class. They all got a kick out of it, but Karana most of all. At the same time, it was very serious, we flirted, but magic wasn’t a game, and I paid close attention.

Most of the magic I’d been taught so far, was considered destruction and protection. Cleaning, building a tub, air jets, fireballs, ice shards, clearing the ground of sticks and rocks, filling a tub with water, and even shaving, was all destruction magic. Hell, even my fingertip vibrator spell that I used on my mates was considered destruction magic, which was worthy of a snicker or two in my opinion. Protection was the wards, not only those that protected from the elements, but the ones that blocked sight and sound. Privacy wards were considered protection spells, since they protected from sound and light waves, technically.

So, I didn’t really know anything about summoning, illusion, or creation. Necromancy either, but the elves didn’t teach that school of magic, and I had no interest in learning about it. Not even the basics. To my relief, Sianna relented that she wouldn’t learn it either, under Karana’s influence. Queen Sera seemed to be about justice, so wasn’t all that twisted I didn’t think, but I had a feeling her cold unloving demeanor was all about her foray into necromancy. Or at least, a part of it. Irwin had told me when I first arrived on this world that it harmed the soul, and there was no way I wanted that for Sianna. I had no reason to doubt her word either, so it would all work out.

Karana went over the basic ideas of those three spheres I was unfamiliar with. Summoning was just what it sounded like. The basic spells could summon something you were familiar with, an object, article of clothing, or other non-biological object. Medium to advanced summoning was about summoning something familiar or similar to something else, like holding a gold piece in my hand, and locating and summoning gold right out of the ground through a sympathetic connection of sorts. Advanced summoning also included summoning life forms from other planes of existence. Strangely perhaps, there was no way to summon someone already on this world, or teleport to another place. Mages had experimented many times looking for that solution, but it always ended in death. The one exception to that, was a summoning spell that was more like a calling. A master of summoning for instance, could compel a person to appear before the summoner, and they’d do it, but they’d have to walk there. It was also how a mage gained a familiar, which was master level magic in that sphere. There was also a distance limitation for moving inorganic matter through space on my new world, a few miles was really the extent of it. I’d be able to summon something from the house while in the city, or vice versa, but if I’d forgotten something in Dulcier or Malburn, or even the much closer elven cities, I’d be out of luck. The calling version of summoning had a much greater range of reach, hundreds if not thousands of miles.
