  “I sensed that Arthur Langley knew the men who stopped the stage,” said Jim Hawkins when they were clear of the house.

  “Yes, it was obvious to me too,” replied Constable Harrison.

  “I suppose they are going to try and keep it in the family,” said Jim.

  “I feel sorry for them in a way, all that money, and now the family will be torn apart at the seams, it will never be the same for them again."

  “No, I fear it won’t,” replied Jim, kicking his heels into the flanks of his horse and bringing it to the trot as he led them back to Cockle Creek.
