Game of Destiny, Book I: Willow Page 26

Excerpt from The Historium

The residents of East Warves and West Warves are an insular group. They tend to be shorter and broader than most Etusians, due, it is supposed, to the colder and harsher conditions in the northern lands.

It is, however, their penchant for technical innovations and discovery that has set them apart.

The Warves are evolving into the techno-centers of Etus. The many ruins dotting their territories have provided tantalizing glimpses into physical sciences that far exceed our own and have helped inspire their eagerness to experiment and learn. Their reputation as tinkerers and builders of amusing mechanical toys for children is maturing into a respect for their knowledge and mastery of the mechanical and a force they call lectric.

Others feel that their eagerness for change and renovation is leading them too far into the same disruptive tolerance that decimated our world.
