In It to Win It Page 3

“Yes.” I close my eyes, my cheek pressed to the smooth sheet.

There’s a pause as he gloves up, then his hands are on my butt cheeks, fondling me in a way that’s both sweet and filthy. I know he’s looking at me, seeing my most intimate secret places. My skin burns, my insides still tender and pulsing, aching for him to fuck me.

And he does, slowly easing into me. A long, low groan reaches my ears, thrilling me. I arch my back to take him deeper and he slides all the way in, thick and heavy, pressing his groin against my ass, holding my hips.

“Fuck, that’s amazing,” he rasps. “Your pussy all around me…I just want to fuck…and fuck…and fuck.”

“Do it.” My fingers curl into the sheets. “Fuck me. Fuck me hard. I like it hard.”

I’ll probably be embarrassed about that later, but right now, I don’t care, I just want to feel him pounding into me. He moves carefully, as if holding back, and I push my ass back against him with each stroke. His hand rubs up and down my back, then tangles into my hair. The tug on my scalp is wickedly erotic and sweetly painful. Sensation skitters down my spine.

He pulls my hair as he thrusts, and I’m slamming against him, my body jolting. And there it is…another orgasm building. Really?

This time he does it for me, reaching around to find my clit, plucking it, then circling it with wet fingertips. I shudder and tense, another surge of sensation ripping through me just as he comes too, shouting out his pleasure.

He leans over me and fastens his mouth onto my shoulder in a love bite, his chest heaving against my back. I’m limp. Dazed. Ruined.

  Wow.

  Chapter 3

  JP

I catch Taylor’s eye and smile.

I’m standing once again in front of the arch overlooking the beach at the Shore. Father Vincent from my mom’s church is here, and Théo is next to me, all chill and happy now that his bride is standing next to him, looking beautiful in her wedding dress.

Taylor was the second bridesmaid to walk down the aisle, and she looked a little tense.

Jesus, I hope it’s not because of me. Last night was amazing. Things better not be awkward today. But weddings are stressful; that’s probably it.

She smiles back at me, her tense features relaxing.

  Whew.

The bridesmaids’ dresses are sexy—fitted and strapless, which shows off Taylor’s great shoulders and toned arms. And her rack. She’s carrying a bouquet of bright flowers. As I watch her, she glances out at the guests with another tight expression.

Jesus. I should be paying attention to the ceremony, not thinking about the bridesmaid’s treasure chest. I’m such an ass.

For a while, I succeed at focusing on the wedding, but the next time I glance Taylor’s way, she’s watching me. That way…you know that way…remembering last night and all the dirty things we did to each other. I’m remembering how her cheeks flush pink when she comes. How sensitive her nipples are. How she…Stop. I’m getting a boner. Must stop thinking about naked Taylor coming on my face…

Maybe this wedding won’t be so bad. I may be a pariah to everyone in my family, but at least someone here likes me. Weddings are a big party, and I like to party. I’m going to have fun tonight, family be damned.

Before the fun parts though, there are a few obligations to get through—photographs, dinner, the speech I have to make. We pose on the beach, eat the amazing meal, and then I get up to the microphone at the end of the head table and set my phone on the podium so I can see the notes I made on it.

“Good evening, everyone! I trust you’re having a great night racking up the bar tab. Sorry about that, Mom and Dad.”

A ripple of laughter flows through the ballroom.

“And I know we’re all eager to get on with the evening, which means dancing and more trips to the bar.” I hold up my wineglass. “So don’t worry, my speech will be like a miniskirt: long enough to cover the essentials and short enough to hold your attention.” I grin as people laugh again.

“For those who may not know me, I’m Jean Paul Wynn, usually known as JP, and I’m Théo’s brother. Being Théo’s brother, I naturally have a lengthy list of blackmail-quality ammunition to talk about tonight. Don’t get scared, though, Théo; what happened in Finland stays in Finland.” I shoot him a grin and he shakes his head. The guests all laugh again.

“Technically, Lacey’s already a member of our family, but she’s a beautiful new member of our family. You look stunning tonight, Lacey.” I pause. “So, too, do the bridesmaids. If any of you are interested, I can give you my number after this is over.”

I flash a flirty smile their way, but my eyes are on only one bridesmaid as everyone chuckles.

I turn my attention back to the guests. “When Théo and I were young, we did everything together. We were attached at the hip even when we were fighting, which was often, as our mother can attest, especially on the ice. It wasn’t a game unless we were trying to kick each other’s asses. But done with love, of course.” I smile. “Then when Théo went away to Moncton to play hockey, we were separated for the first time in our lives. And I was finally free.”

  More laughter follows this.

“We all know Théo is incredibly smart, but I don’t know if any of you know the story about the time in university when Théo was writing a stats exam and he was completely hungover. Since it was a true/false test, he decided to flip a coin for the answers. At the end of the two-hour exam, he was still flipping his coin, flipping his coin, and the prof walked up and said, ‘Look, clearly you didn’t study for this test, if you’re just flipping a coin; what’s taking you so long?’ And Théo replied, ‘Shh, I’m checking my answers.’ ”

The crowd roars at that one, and Théo subtly flicks me his middle finger. The story’s not true, of course, but it’s so Théo.

“Seriously, Théo is a brilliant man who likes to thoroughly analyze all the data before making a decision. So now, let’s toast to the best decision Théo’s ever made—marrying Lacey. I wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and success.” I hold up my glass in a toast, and everyone follows suit.

Théo rises from his seat to hug me as I move away from the podium. “I really am honored to be doing this, bro,” I mutter to him, emotion rising in my chest.

  He smacks my back.

Lacey too rises, and we embrace as well. “Welcome to the family, sis.”

  “Thank you.”

I take my seat, again catching Taylor’s eye. She’s watching me, smiling, and I think she might be a little impressed with my speech. I lift my glass toward her and wink.

  She toasts me back.

Let’s get on with the dancing so I can put my hands on this girl again.

First I have to dance with Lacey’s matron of honor, Karine, who’s nice, and very pretty, but also very married. When that song ends, I try to make a move toward Taylor, but I’m waylaid by Everly.

  “Come on, let’s dance.”

I don’t have much choice, since she’s standing right in front of me, so I take her hand and start moving to the music.

  “Great speech.”

  “Thanks.”

“I’m glad you and Théo have gotten past what you did to him.”

One corner of my mouth lifts. “Thanks for reminding me I’m an asshole.”

She shrugs lightly. “It’s what I’m here for.”

  I laugh.

“Seriously.” She eyes me. “We’ve never been super close, but since Théo moved here and I’ve gotten to know him better, and Lacey, I discovered I actually kind of like him even though he still thinks my mom is a gold digger.”

  I choke. “Uh…he said that?”

“Well, sort of. He said everybody thinks that, which I know.”

  I grimac
e. “Well, I’m not going to judge her. Being on the receiving end of that kind of judgment bullshit sucks, as I now know.”

“True. Sorry everyone’s being so jerkish to you.”

  “I deserve it.” I sigh.

  “They’ll get past it. Eventually.”

“Whatever.” I try to pretend it doesn’t matter. “I’m fine.”

  “Uh-huh.”

My attention wanders over Everly’s shoulder to where Taylor is dancing with Théo. I’ll just keep an eye on her until this song’s done.

“You’ve been staring at Taylor all day.”

My eyes snap back to Everly’s face. “What? No, I haven’t.”

“Yes, you have.” She narrows her eyes at me. “She’s a nice girl.”

“What the hell does that mean?”

“Ha ha, I don’t know. I just apologized for everyone else being dickish to you and now I am.”

The song ends and we move apart. “Thanks for the dance. Catch you later.”

I scrunch my face up in indecision. What the hell. I push my way through bodies toward Taylor. Standing in front of her, Everly’s snarky comments and the pressure I’ve been feeling all day fall away. I feel lighter and calmer and…happy. I smile. “Dance?”

  “Sure.”

I take her hand and set my other hand on her back, pulling her closer than I did with Everly. “Having fun?”

“Yes.” Her eyes glow. “Lacey and Théo are so happy, and I’m happy for them. There was a point when I didn’t know if things were going to work out for them.”

“I know. But thanks to me, Théo got his head out of his ass.”

Her lips curve. “Thanks to you, huh?”

I grin. “Yep. That’s what brothers are for.”

  “Okay.”

“You seemed tense earlier. Were you nervous?”

A little notch appears between her eyebrows. “Nervous? No.”

“That’s good.” I hesitate. “I was worried it was because of me. That you were regretting last night.”

Her eyes soften. For a moment she doesn’t reply. “Not because of you. Last night was amazing.”

“It was, wasn’t it.” I twirl her and she laughs.

“I liked your speech.” She tips her head. “Very funny. I didn’t know hockey players could be so…”

My eyebrows shoot up. “Go ahead. Say it. You think hockey players are big, dumb jocks.”

“No!” She shakes her head vigorously. “You were very comfortable up there in front of a crowd, that’s all. You even have good comedic timing.”

“Huh. Okay. Well, I don’t mind making a fool of myself in public, it’s true. Théo and I are different that way.” I pause. “We’re different in a lot of ways.”

Story of my life. The older brother everyone worshiped…super smart, athletic, nice guy. Then there was me…Okay, I’m athletic too, but not a brainiac like Théo, and since I was always in trouble, some people didn’t like me very much. Teachers. Coaches. Other parents. Sometimes I even wondered about my own parents.

“Yes, you are,” she agrees. But she says it in a way that tells she likes the way we’re different.

  Taylor

The music changes, and now the DJ is moving the party along with a peppy Calvin Harris dance song. JP and I move apart but continue dancing together, laughing as we bust out some moves to impress each other.

  He noticed I was tense.

  It wasn’t because of him.

It was because of Manny. Manny, the guy I’d been seeing who got traded to Nashville a couple of months ago and ghosted on me. Sure, we hadn’t gone out that long, but I was falling for him, thinking I’d finally found a great guy, unlike my numerous dating disasters, and then he barely even said goodbye to me and took off to find a new place to live.

I haven’t seen him since, until today when I walked down the aisle and saw him sitting with the other guests. Asshole.

I don’t have a date for the wedding, but it appears neither does he. I’m determined to show him I’m over him. I don’t care that he’s here; I’m just celebrating my friends’ marriage and having fun. And JP is here, dancing with me, flirting with me, and it’s perfect for showing Manny I’m fine.

We dance another fast song; then, breathless, JP slides his arm around my waist. “Let’s grab a drink and go outside to cool off.”

  “Sounds perfect.”

We make our way across the dance floor, JP behind me with his hands on my waist like he doesn’t want me to get away from him, both of us moving to the music as we walk. People are looking at us—okay, it’s the women who are looking at us, no doubt wishing they were the one with JP Wynn’s hands on their waist. I’ve seen the flirty smiles and breathy comments many of the female guests have bestowed upon him today. But he’s with me.

He leads me to the bar, where I request a glass of wine and he gets a beer. Then he takes my hand and we walk out of the ballroom and onto the terrace. There are a few other people out here, and we head for a quiet corner and sit on a small wicker couch. The music from the ballroom is muted, the breeze off the Pacific Ocean soft and pleasantly cooling, the fronds of the potted palms around us swaying gently.

  “Beautiful evening.”

  “It is. You’re beautiful too.”

I smile at him. “Thank you.”

“These are very sexy bridesmaid dresses.”

I glance down at my midnight-blue strapless dress. It’s nice, especially considering the hideous bridesmaid dress I wore at my friend Ashleigh’s wedding last year, but…

“Or maybe it’s you that’s sexy,” he adds.

I shake my head at his compliments, but inside I’m buzzing and fluttering.

“You look good yourself in that tux.” All three groomsmen are wearing dark tuxes over white shirts with midnight-blue pocket squares and a bright pink rose boutonniere. JP fills out the shoulders of the jacket spectacularly. “I’m a sucker for a handsome man in a suit.”

“Oh yeah?” He leans closer. “Does the suit turn you on? Or is it me?”

  “Oh my God. Your ego.”

“It’s me, isn’t it.” He brushes his lips over my cheek. “If you’re turned on, maybe we need to take care of that.”

  “Maybe we do.”

“You have my permission to put your hands down my pants anytime I turn you on.”

He says this so earnestly, with a straight face, it takes a couple of seconds before I burst out laughing. “I don’t think this is the place for that.”

“You’re right.” He nuzzles my ear, and delicious shivers cascade down my spine and my inner thighs squeeze. “Especially when there’s a perfectly good suite up on the fourth floor.”

  “We can’t do that.”

“Why not? Nobody’s missing us right this moment.”

“But…” His warm breath teases my hair and his hand on my knee gently squeezes. “But…”

“Come on. We have time for a turbo bang.”

I choke on a laugh. “Oh my God.” He’s so bad. But he makes me laugh. My panties are wet already and I’m so, so tempted…

“Seriously. We’ll be back down here before anyone notices we’re gone.”

I glance across the patio and see Manny standing, talking to a small group of people. He looks up and his gaze lands on me.

There’s a moment of awareness as we make eye contact.

I turn back to JP, lean in to brush my lips over his cheek, and whisper, “Okay. Let’s go.”

“Perfect.” He takes my hand and stands, bringing me with him. We leave our empty glasses on the small table and my heels click across the stone patio as we head back inside, hand in hand. I can feel Manny’s eyes following us. Good.

We cross the lobby with its g
lowing table lamps, a fire flickering in the stone fireplace, toward the elevators. JP punches an up button, and soon we’re walking down the carpeted hall to his room.

Inside the suite again, I trail my hand across the dark wood desk. “Looks like there was a party here earlier.”

He grimaces at the bottles and glasses sitting on the dresser along with a tray of used dishes. “Well, there sort of was. The guys all got ready here this afternoon.”

“We got ready in Lacey’s suite. Théo and Lacey are staying there tonight.”

“We’ve already tricked out their suite.”

“What do you mean?” I turn to face him.

He walks me backward into the bedroom and pushes me to sit on the bed. “We got rose petals and, uh, arranged them on the bed.”

  “Oh, that’s lovely!”

“Um…the petals spell out ‘let me eat that pussy.’ ”

I fall back onto the bed, laughing. “You guys did not do that!”

He climbs on over me, grinning. “Oh yeah, we did. And we have more fun planned. Which is why we have to make this quick. Dammit.”

He slides his hands up my thighs beneath my dress, pushing it higher, until his fingertips graze over my thong. Wasting no time, he has my underwear down my legs and off, and then his fingers slide between my thighs. “So wet,” he murmurs. “Beautiful.”

  I bite my lip.

He turns his attention to the strapless bodice of the dress, tugging it down along with my bra to reveal my breasts. “Oh man. Your tits are fucking perfect.” He presses his face between them. “I could stay here all night.”

I slide my fingers into his hair. “We don’t have all night.”

“I know.” He groans, turns his head, and licks one nipple. I twitch hard and then again even harder when he sucks my nipple into his mouth. Sensation flows down to my pussy, more liquid heat gathering there.

He cups my breasts, and sucks and nips at the tender tips until I’m writhing beneath him, my hips lifting against his erection. He lifts his head. “Can you grab that condom?” He nods at the bedside table.

I slap a hand out and close my fingers around it, my entire body aching and throbbing with need. I hand it to him, and he undoes his pants and pulls out his cock. With quick movements, he’s gloved up and pushing my knees up and back, preparing to enter me.
