With Mandy protected, Greg headed toward the action in the center of the cave. He knew Trisha was one of the strongest combat witches in Boudicca's court. He just hoped she'd be strong enough to protect Mandy from attack by the Humboldts. His goal was to take out Dormolon. Without the prince, the squids would have no leader. Without Dormolon, it might even be possible to strip away the magic that made them so much more than deep sea predators. Meanwhile, he'd have to trust the others to keep the Humboldts at bay.
The good news was that Dormolon wanted to get to him just as badly as he wanted to get to Dormolon. The bad news was that Dormolon still held the sacrificial knife in his hand. If the mer prince managed to cut him badly enough to get his blood in that basin, the game was over. He'd have to make sure that didn't happen and, at the same time, take out the mer.
