Jer caught their stare and stuck her tongue out at Coal. His brother scowled at the redhead while Lev stared on impassively.
“She’s a handful,” Lev remarked.
“That’s putting it lightly.” Coal chuckled. “She’s a hellion.”
Blade looked between both his brothers who seemed fixated on his mate’s best friend. “Do either of you feel the calling with her?” he asked bluntly.
Coal recoiled, faking a shudder. “I’d sooner take a serpent to bed.”
Blade arched a brow at Lev who kept silently observing the females. “She’s a puzzle I’d like to solve.”
Not a yes or a no. How typically Lev.
“And her scent?” Blade pushed.
“Confusing.” Lev’s brows furrowed and then smoothed out. “I’ll figure it out though.”
Interesting.
There wasn’t any figuring out Earth women. But he’d enjoy watching his brother try. He turned his attention to Allie and allowed himself a smug, happy smile.
Humans were the best.

Glossary
A compilation of all names, terms, and descriptions
Airships: spaceships that travel from planet to planet at the speed of light.
Allie Sai: feisty southern bootlegger who gets drafted to help colonize an alien planet.
Asa: blue haired Av space pirate
Automaton or AM: AI integrated into robots to accomplish mundane tasks.
Av: an alien race with pointed ears, colorful hair, and predisposition for tallness. Mistaken for Elves. Their blood is silver, and they have a heightened sense of smell and hearing. Chooses mates by scent. Native to the planet Sars. Their kits, or children, are born in pairs. They live for many years. Their women only ovulate every seven to ten years. Population is dwindling because virus that ripped through the planet and left many females barren.
Blade Xrir: operative for the Av Lock Sector. Their weapons specialist. A scar down his face. Blue hair so dark it almost looks black. A triplet
Coal Xrir: operative for the Av Lock Sector. Black hair that faded to silver at the tips. A triplet.
Distorter: an illegal device that can change a person’s appearance by distorting the molecules a person and tricking the eye of others.
Elijah or Eli: head bouncer at the the Scarlet Kiss. A huge Kittera with a leopard like mark that starts from his hairline and moves around his brow and disappeared down his neck. He has cinnamon eyes and short brown hair. Has a temper and tends to growl.
Emerald Bane (EM): a moonshine concoction of Allie’s that causes nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.
Eve: an Av flora specialist for the Av Lock Sector.
Gesron: the leader of the Guari.
Jer Blake: former redheaded solider, bouncer, and Allie’s roommate and best friend.
Kale: a Kanji operative for the Av Lock Sector.
Kanji: an alien tribe native to the dark side of the planet. They have light skin that doesn’t burn but the sun makes them overheat. Their sense of smell is strong that a Humans’. They have feathers that grow amongst their hair. When threatened their bodies secrete poison in the quill (or feather). If jabbed with the sharp end of the quill, a person would die within an hour without medical help. They also host a feathery patterned skin. Their women only ovulate once every five years. Feathered necklaces are given as a clan token – it says you’re protected and part of the family.
Kitteran: a burly alien race with leopard like markings. They live in packs and have high emotions. They hate small spaces and are prone to panics that can turn into rages. Their women only ovulate once every two years. They only kneel to those who earn their respect because of bravery or valor. They claim family that’s not blood by marking them with their family’s mark. Kitteran’s are born with their marks but the marks given to claimed family are similar to a tatoo.
Lev Xrir: operative for the Av Lock Sector. Teal hair that faded to aquamarine at the tips. A triplet.
Lily: Allie’s mousy neighbor who is a techy. She can hack just about anything. She has white hair, brown eyes and lilac glasses.
Lock: special intergalactic agency similar to the CIA
Moontime: the menstruation time for any female.
Motorhover: a hovercraft designed with the shape like a motorcycle.
Obsidian (Sid): a Sarpe that Allie meets and befriends on her very first day on the planet.
Sai Moonshine: a high end genetically modified amber moonshine that had hallucinogenic properties and could kill is ingested too often. It soothed and relieved pain and changes flavors to the consumers tastes.
Sarpe: Humanoid alien with variations of dark scales skin similar to snakes. They host solid black eyes, slightly pointed black nails, and fangs. They slur their words and it’s most often mistaken as hissing. They live in what they call harems or clans (huge familial groups that live and raise children together). Choses mates from scent. Their women ovulate only once a year.
Sars: the alien planet that humans are being drafted to colonize.
Scarlet Kiss: the restaurant and speakeasy Allie works at as a bartender. Owned by Sebastian. Jer works as a bouncer.
Sebastian or Bastian: owner of the Scarlet Kiss, Allie’s boss. A tall Kanji with black feathered hair, an angular nose, pointed chin, and royal purple eyes.
Sloven: the king of Sars a.k.a Sloven the Slayer. A warlord who hates Humans as much as he is intrigued by them.
Stungun: a military weapon that can stop a heart in less than a second.
The Guari: a smuggling ring of space pirates.
Wrist Comm: a mini computer that can do just about anything.
Virgil: a wrinkly, brown alien that resemble a humanoid sphynx cat with black beady eyes. Married to Vera the Dragoness. Operative of the Av Lock Sector.
Xan: green haired Av space pirate
Zune: a redheaded, burly Kitteran operative that works as a liquid compositions specialist. Wears big square black glasses.
