“How did you survive on junk food and noodles?”

She chuckled. “Survival constitution. As soon as I have all the nutrients I need, my body dumps its stores. Torenne still shakes her head over it. All her efforts to make me eat healthy would be better served roasting marshmallows with me.”

Thirteen and Eighteen got to their feet. Eighteen smiled and said, “Thanks for the tea.”

Thirteen nodded. “I hope to see you at the resort. We have a great mani-pedi sale on.”

Khytten grinned. “Me and my entourage will try and work out the logistics. I never counted on twins, and the triplets are going to make my head explode.”

Thirteen laughed. “Your head if you are lucky. We will find someone to watch whatever you have in tow.”

Eighteen nodded. “Or perhaps the aesthetician can come up here and offer the service for you.”

  Thirteen blinked. “That too.”

Khytten hugged Thirteen goodbye, or rather, Thirteen hugged her. Eighteen leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Good luck with the pregnancy.”

A sense of calm and well-being spread through Khytten’s body, and she looked at Eighteen. “Thank you for that. A kiss for Cira and Ciro, too?”

Eighteen leaned in and delivered the kisses. “Good luck and grow big and strong. The world needs more heroes or just effective killers.”

Khytten laughed. “I couldn’t agree more.”

Salat put his hands on Khytten’s shoulders. “Thank you for your visit, Thirteen, Eighteen.”

Khytten waited until Melker showed the ladies out when she asked Salat, “So, you know what just happened?”

  “You got lucky.” He smiled.

She thought about the last few months and looked at the children she was fostering to adopt at that moment. “Yeah, I really did.” She looked up at him and smiled brightly. He kissed her softly, and Torenne arrived home with the steak in tow. Yeah, she had gotten lucky.

  Author’s Note

After this, I have two more (possibly three more) planned. The next one is going to be I Dated a Deadly Auditor. Eighteen and Gorith are going to run into each other... again.

I just wanted to dip my toes in sex-obsessed superheroes for a little while. It will wear off. Probably.

  Thanks for reading,
