“Do you need help?” he asks casually.
“Uh, yeah. I’m looking for your boss. I have to talk with him about something.”
“You’re here to see Nash?” he asks quizzically.
I jolt a bit, but then nod. Weird. Brian’s boss is named “Nash” whereas my hook-up last night was named “Nash” as well. What a strange coincidence. Nash isn’t the most common name, but it’s not like only that one guy has it.
Freaky, I guess. The employee shrugs.
“His office is in the back. Just go inside, make a left, and he’s the second door.”
“Thanks.”
The biker makes an affirmative sound before going back to his work. He was a little brusque, but nice enough. I guess that’s just the tough man demeanor.
I enter through the back and go into a no-frills hallway with fluorescent lighting and cement floors. I make that left the guy told me to, and pass the first door to find myself at the second. Nerves are coursing through me. I know I only have one chance to get this right.
“You can do this, you can do this,” I whisper to myself. It’s for my nieces, so I have to do this.
I grab the doorknob and push the door open.
“Hi, I’m looking for Nash?”
There’s a guy sitting at a desk, and he looks up when I enter. Blue eyes flash, and that huge bulk is unmistakable. I can’t breathe. There’s no oxygen in the small space, but then I force myself to inhale deeply.
It’s my hook-up from last night!
But that’s not possible! How is this possible?
My brain is malfunctioning as I look at him. Oh no, I’m screwed. Nash is going to think my family is just a bunch of hot messes. I mean, the way I acted last night with the wanton cooing and spread legs? He won’t take me seriously.
Why is this horrific situation happening to me? Is this really my life?
“Nellie?” Nash growls. The sound of my name frightens me enough to let go of the door, and it slams shut behind me. My heart is racing, and I count backwards from one hundred to calm it down. Maybe there’s still a chance I can save this whole thing. It’s not like I did anything too horrible last night. I’m sure Nash is a reasonable guy. He was nice enough last night.
I just need to move forward with my initial plan and tell him Brian deserves another chance.
This is for Mackenzie and Madison.
Don’t forget that Nellie.

Nash
I’m going through paperwork, trying to see the damage that that idiot I let go did. I can’t believe Brian managed to fuck us over this much. He seemed like such a great mechanic when I hired him.
Who could have known?
Honestly, I should have done this yesterday, when I actually fired him. I was just way too fucking mad. I mean, that nutball really screwed us over with all that bullshit he pulled.
Plus, it had been a long ass day. I wasn’t about to give myself more shit to do. That’s not really an attitude a boss should have, but even I have my off days.
But putting it off until Saturday hasn’t made it any less frustrating. Now it’s just more on my plate this morning. I already had a lot planned for today, so I’ve only screwed myself over.
Waking up alone didn’t help my mood either. I can’t believe Nellie just snuck away. WTF? No note or goodbye or anything. She’s the first woman I let spend the entire night in my bed, and I thought girls liked all that mushy stuff.
Did I make some kind of mistake? From the way that she was screaming last night, I would think no.
What is even more annoying is the fact that I’m so miffed by her disappearance. After all, if I were Nellie, I probably would have done the same thing. I’m known for avoiding all levels of confrontation when it comes to women. It just makes it easier for everyone involved. I don’t care what they do afterwards as long as they stay out of my face.
But that’s what I’d do if I didn’t want to see the person ever again. By contrast, I want Nellie in my face. I want her on my face.
She didn’t leave her number or her last name, so there’s no easy way to get into contact with her. And I want to see her again. The sex was too amazing to just let her walk away.
I guess I could see if Colt got her friend’s info. And then I could get Nellie’s number from that girl, right?
It sounds pathetic, like I’m a junior high schooler. Am I really about to put in extra work to find this woman? I’ve never worked so hard for someone. Is that all about to change?
Either way, I don’t have the time to think about all of this. I have to get to work, and that’s what I do. I’ve been holed up in my office since arriving, getting through all the stuff I didn’t finish yesterday.
Which, apparently, was a lot.
I see my door start to open and assume it’s Colt coming to ask me about something. I could use a distraction just about now, anyway.
But then I look up and there she is.
The girl from last night.
Nellie.
As if out of a dream, she floats into my office.
“Hi, I’m looking for Nash?” Her voice is light, and a small smile plays on those lush lips.
She freezes when she sees me, however. Her eyes go wide that way that they do, the smile quickly disappearing from her face. She looks like a deer in headlights, stuck to her spot, not sure what to do or think.
I look her up and down, taking my time.
Her outfit is vastly different from last night. Last night, I mistook her for a hooch with the miniskirt and revealing top. But now, much more of her skin is covered up by her knee-length skirt and tightly buttoned-up blouse.
Very prim and proper. I think I like this Nellie, too. There’s something sexy librarian-esque about her right now.
All the same, it’s absolutely impossible for her to hides those luscious curves. I don’t think a potato sack could hide that hot body of hers because it’s just straining to be seen. My eyes fall on her breasts, the middle button being pushed to its limits.
I’d bend her over this desk right now if I could. I already want her body again. It’s like a drug.
And somehow, I’m already addicted.
She’s been standing there for at least a minute, not doing or saying much of anything. Her hand grips the doorknob reflexively, the skin on her knuckles pulled tight from the ferocity of her grip. It’s like she’s going to make her exit.
I don’t need her walking out on me again. Reason one is because I have a lot of ideas for the kinds of fun we can have. Reason two is because I’m very curious as to why she’s here in the first place.
Maybe she’s feeling the same way I am.
“Nellie,” I growl.
She jumps at the sounds of my voice, letting go of the door, allowing it to slam shut. She still hasn’t said anything, and I’m beginning to think she might be having a moment.
“Nellie,” I call again, this time more deliberately. “What are you doing here?” The door opens again, and she stands there, blinking with a bit of a daze in her eyes.
“I, uh, I came to see you. I came to talk.”
I gathered that. I mean that part is obvious. She’s in my office, asking for me by name. Unless some other Nash works at the bike shop that I own, I believe the sweet girl is looking for me.
“Why did you come to see me? What do you want to talk about?”
“Um…” She blinks a few more times, but then seemingly comes to her senses. “I want to talk about my brother Brian. He works for you. I mean, he worked for you. Until yesterday, that is.”
Brian? That fuck up is her brother? Looking at her, I can see the family resemblance. Now that she’s told me, it’s obvious because they have similar features along with the same dark brown hair. But Brian never mentioned a sister. I mean he never really talked about anyone in his family, and to be honest, I avoided talking to him as much as possible, so I could have just missed that conversation. He was one of the worst, if not the worst employee we’ve ev
er had.
“And?” I ask. I have nothing good to say about Brian. If he is never even the topic of conversation again, I will have lived a happy life.
“Well, he was unceremoniously fired and –” Nellie stops talking when I snort, trying to stifle a cruel chuckle. “What is it?” she demands.
“I know he was fired because I’m the one who fired him.” Her face turns beet red at my admission. It’s not that I feel bad about getting rid of that dumbass. He was always more trouble than he was worth.
“You don’t have to be rude about it,” she spits back.
“I don’t?”
“No,” Nellie says as she crosses her arms over her sizable chest. I’m sure she’s doing that to establish authority, but all it does is draw my eyes to her breasts.
She sees me looking and wraps her arms even more tightly around herself. Her face is all screwed up with annoyance. I know I should probably feel bad for pushing her buttons, but she looks so cute standing over there all irked with me.
“I get that he made a mistake,” Nellie continues, “but it was just a teeny tiny one. He should have had that bike ready by Friday, but he got the day wrong. It could happen to anyone. It was just going to be three days late. That’s not a lot of time. You shouldn’t have fired him for such a small thing.”
What is she talking about? Is that the reason Brian gave her? I mean, that most certainly did happen, but I have a whole laundry list of reasons of why I got rid of him. Like how he’s always late and he’s kind of an asshole and I’m pretty sure he might have some kind of substance abuse problem and I never really liked him.
Honestly, he’s just an all-around bad employee.
But it’s clear to me that Nellie doesn’t know any of this. I could tell her and keep Brian out of my life for good, but then I’m sure that would mean Nellie would walk out of it, too.
I don’t think that’s something that I want. Come to think of it, if I play my cards right, this could be an opportunity.
“Why don’t you sit down?” I tell her. She looks around my office for a few seconds before promptly taking a seat. She has her back up totally straight, her hands folded in her lap as she looks at me. “So, as you know, your brother is no angel.”
She nods furiously.
“Yes, of course. But he didn’t deserve being fired.”
I hold up a hand.
“Well, that’s debatable but let’s not get into it now. In fact, I have a proposition.”
She looks at me suspiciously, her brow furrowing.
“What kind of proposition?”
“I’ll let Brian keep his job.”
“Really?” Nellie blurts as her face lights up. That gives me confidence to push forward, knowing she wants this so much.
“Yes, really. But there’s something you would have to do for me in return.” She looks nervous, her eyes darting back and forth.
“What do you want me to do?”
I lean back, crossing my arms across my broad chest.
“I want you to come work for me.”
Nellie’s brow furrows as she shakes her head in confusion.
“I don’t understand. I’m an accountant, not a mechanic. I don’t know anything about motorcycles. Plus, I already have a job. I mean, would it be like a few hours a week or something? After I get off work, or on weekends?”
“No, I’d want you full-time.” 24 / 7 in fact, but I don’t add that part just yet.
“Well, I already have a job,” she repeats, shaking her head. It’s like she can’t come to terms with what I’m saying.
“That’s fine,” I shrug. “Having a job means you have some skills. But all of that is irrelevant to me. The deal is, you come work for me, and Brian gets to keep his job. No negotiations.”
“But how can I have two full-time jobs? That’s impossible. I’d have to quit my current one,” she says, her voice trailing off.
I shrug again because I already gave her my terms, and they are what they are. I nod.
“Smart girl. I’ll pay you well if you’re worried about the money. How much do you make at your current place?”
“It’s not just that. I – I – I don’t know.”
I can see Nellie internally struggling with answering. I know she desperately wants to help her brother, but she doesn’t know me, nor my motivations.
I’m not going to act worried, though. I’m sure there are other ways I can get what I want from this voluptuous woman. This just looks to be the most clear-cut strategy at the moment, and I had to come up with something on the fly.
And, honestly, it’s going to be fun playing with Nellie.
“Well?” I rumble.
She starts to say something, her face flushed, but then her mouth tightens into a line. She takes a deep breath.
“Okay,” she says between her teeth.
“Okay?”
“Yes, I’ll come work for you, but only because my brother needs this job so he can support his family. I’ll quit my current job and come work for you.” Her voice is tight with reluctance, but it’s fine because all I needed was a yes. I’m sure once she understands what’s going on, things will be a lot smoother. She’ll enjoy the work a lot more than she can imagine.
“Great. Just leave your contact info with the receptionist out front, and I’ll get in touch with you with additional details. But for now, do you have any questions?”
She stares at me.
“No, I’ll see you Monday,” comes her tight reply.
I nod, and Nellie stands up. I love how she assumes this is for an accounting position because what else could I want her for?
The curvy girl marches towards the door, reaching for the knob. But before pulling it open, she turns back to me, her eyes on fire. I know she has all kinds of questions rattling around in her brain.
I’m daring her to ask them, but instead, she opens the door and leaves without another word.
I’m not going to lie. I’m a bit surprised that the whole thing actually worked because it was so spur of the moment. But hey, I’m not one to sit around when there’s opportunity in the air. Plus, there’s some planning I’m going to have to get done. I’ll talk to Brenda, my housekeeper, once I’m home, and let her know what to pick up and all that.
Of course, I’ll have to deal with Nellie’s idiot brother, but it’ll be worth it. Hopefully, she’ll be able to see that Brian’s a lazy douche, and then we can drop this pretense, but for now, it works in my favor.
My door opens again, and Colton strides in. Yesterday, I was lamenting to him about how I don’t like being in charge of firings. As co-owners, we decided a while ago who does what. I got firings, he got payroll, and then back and forth, we divvied up everything. The good and the bad.
Looks like it’s finally worked out in my favor.
“Is that the girl from last night?” Colt asks with a puzzled smile. His head is still peering out the door to see through the large window we have looking into the garage.
“Yeah, it is.” He fully enters my office, satisfied with whatever he’s seen, closing the door behind him.
“Not going to lie, I had an amazing time with Amy last night, but I didn’t bring her into work, man. Just exactly what did that young girl do to warp your mind? Was the head that immaculate?”
“Dude, it’s not like that. I didn’t bring her here. She just walked into my office.”
He chuckles.
“What did you do to drive that young girl so crazy?”
“Nothing,” I drawl. “But she just so happens to be that idiot Brian’s sister.”
Colt looks puzzled.
“Brian? You mean the dumbass you fired yesterday? She’s his sister? But she’s so different from him. She’s not some heathen.”
“Yeah, I was just as surprised. She came to talk to me to beg for his job back on his behalf. Evidently, Brian’s in some kind of tough spot and can’t support his family without this position.” Or whatever sob story he told her. He already lied to he
r once as far as I can tell.
After all, needing a job is a spot a lot of people are in. I would have more sympathy for the guy if he wasn’t such a terrible employee. He actually knows how to fix up bikes pretty well when he shows up in the mornings. But everything about him is a goddamn mess. I don’t know what to believe with that guy.
What makes it even worse is he couldn’t do the dirty work himself, and talk to me one on one like a man. He sent his sister. What Brian needs is to man the fuck up and take responsibility for his actions.
Then again, I’m not mad that I got to see Nellie again. But at this point, I have no respect for Brian whatsoever. He’s just a means to an end.
“You didn’t give him his job back, did you?” my partner demands. “I really hope you didn’t give him his job back because that guy is a fuck-up on wheels.” Colt hates Brian just as much as I do. We’ve been looking to fire him for a while, and Friday was when we finally got our chance. We had enough proof and reason to that there was no way he’d be able to fight us on it.
I lean back in my chair.
“Sort of. I did agree to rehire him just now.” Colt rolls his eyes clearly out of frustration, but doesn’t interject, so I continue. “But I promise you he will not be here for long.” I’m sure Brian will do something to screw up again, and this time, Nellie will be up close enough to see it. “I just want to get to know the sister and see where this thing can go, so I gave her a job as a condition of re-hiring her brother.”
“Oh, okay. So, our man has some kind of secret plan? Is there anything that I need to know?”
“I don’t want to say too much, but I have a few things in the works.”
Colt nods.
“Will we be seeing Nellie here on Monday?”
“No,” I shake my head, “I have some separate work planned for her.” I’m sure she’ll be rather surprised to get started, but it’ll be great.
She’ll adapt to it quickly, I know it.
“Okay, man. I guess all I can do is wish you is good luck.” Colt lazily salutes me and then leaves my office, probably heading to his. An upside to having Brian back here, besides the side deal I made with his sister, is that I can put off this paperwork for a little bit longer.
