“CYRUS SOLE.”
“Yes, Master Nephryte?”
“I don’t believe I’ve heard the full story of how you reached Draethvyle. Who was it that guided you here?”
“Oh, it was this odd vempar I freed from a death-cage in Elvenstone. His name was Gandif,” she said.
“Gandif? He ended up in another death-cage?” The Master grinned, clearly amused. “I’ve been wondering what that bounty hunter was up to.”
“You know him?”
He nodded, chuckling. “Since when we were younger. You two could actually be related, you know.”
Cyrus looked up. “What?”
“His last name is Sole. His human grandmother was captured and made into a slave years ago; but before that, she’d been married to a human with the last name Sole. So, you and Gandif could be half-cousins.”
She exclaimed, “I have a living vempar relative?”
