Lost: The Complete Series Page 12

by Lila Kane

“I’m sorry to bug you on your honeymoon,” I said.

She laughed. “It’s not a bother. I’m sitting on a terrace in the sunshine, drinking a cocktail and getting a tan. The only thing missing was a little gossip.”

  “Where’s Isaac?”

“Exploring. He didn’t want to leave me, but I forced him. I promised I’d stay here, which I’m…mostly doing. The terrace is still technically part of the building. How are you?”

  “We’re at the beach house.”

“That’s what Isaac said. You sound depressed about that. I thought you loved the beach house.”

“I love the beach. The house just happens to be next to it and I’m not allowed to go outside.”

“It’s safer that way, Elise. But I understand. Make Logan play a board game with you or something.”

I choked on a laugh. “Seriously? He won’t even talk to me.”

  “Wait—did something happen?”

  “We kissed.”

Gia gasped, then cursed, making Elise smile. “I knew it! I knew he liked you. I swear he can’t keep his eyes off of you when he sees you. And damn, if I were a man or I swung the other way, I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same thing. You’re hot.”

“Thanks. Doesn’t seem to be helping the situation, though.”

“Is it all awkward now? Like…you aren’t attracted to him so it’s just weird?”

“Hell no.” I glanced to the door, listening for a minute. I didn’t hear Logan. He was probably still in the office downstairs. “I swear I can barely stand when he’s near me. But…he’s making sure that doesn’t happen often.”

“I guess…he’s doing that professional thing. You know, ‘It’s my duty to protect you and I can’t be distracted’.”

“You think that’s all it is?”

“Yes,” Gia said. “Absolutely. Like I said, I’ve seen how he looks at you. But he’s like a brother to Isaac so it’s more important to him to make sure he’s doing what’s right for Isaac and for you.”

“What if what’s right for me is…”

“Him? Hot sex? Anything besides awkwardness?”

  “Yes to all three.”

Gia laughed. “Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands.”

I listened as she continued, and a plan formulated in my mind. Once I got off the phone, I changed into the only dress I’d brought, my favorite navy one with the plunging neckline. Then I reapplied my makeup, making my eyes smoky and my lips red. That, coupled with some perfume and my hair tumbling over my shoulders, and I was good to go.

But I paused in the doorway of the master bedroom, nerves striking me. What if it didn’t work? What if Logan was stronger than I gave him credit for?

I shook off those thoughts. This was about something bigger. Not just duty, but feelings. Emotions. Needs.

Downstairs, I walked straight to the kitchen and opened a bottle of wine. Then I pulled out pots and pans and decided on pasta. Something easy, so I wouldn’t get distracted carrying out the rest of my plan.

I poured myself a generous glass of wine as the noodles boiled and turned on some soothing music that I could sway to. I closed my eyes, reminding myself I could do this. Telling myself it wasn’t wrong. Logan and I were adults, we had needs, and we also had feelings—toward each other.

When I opened my eyes again, Logan was standing at the edge of the kitchen staring at me. I gasped.

“Logan! Why didn’t you say anything?”

He cleared his throat, then dropped his eyes. “I didn’t want to bother you. What are you doing?”

“Cooking dinner. We have to eat, you know,” I muttered, off my game. Irritated that he wouldn’t look at me. “Or is that off-limits too?”

He didn’t answer. Probably knew I was baiting him for a fight. I was primed for one. If I couldn’t get my frustration out sexually, I wanted those words. That argument.

To my surprise, he didn’t turn around and leave. He entered the kitchen and eyed the bottle of wine.

  “You’re welcome to have some.”

Even more surprising, he nodded. “All right.”

“That’s not going to…distract you from your job?”

“It’s one glass of wine. I’m not getting drunk.”

Damn. Maybe he wanted that fight, too. I walked around the counter, the dress brushing my thighs. I topped off my wine and then poured him a glass. When I passed it over, his fingers brushed mine. His eyes lifted, then narrowed.

Like he was seeing me for the first time up close. “You look nice.”

That threw me off again. I was supposed to be seducing him and now that he’d responded the way I wanted, I wasn’t sure whether to keep going.

“Thank you.” I sipped my wine. “Is this okay for dinner?”

  “I’m not picky.”

I frowned. “That means yes, right? You can talk to me, you know.”

He stepped closer, towering over me. “I like pasta. Thanks for making something. Do you need help?”

My mouth dropped open. “What are you doing?”

  “What do you mean?”

  “Being agreeable—acting like…”

  “What?”

I bit my lip. I’d already given away too much. I was supposed to be creating a mystery here, making him want me. And instead, I was completely off balance. He wasn’t playing his part so I couldn’t play mine.

So, finally, I gave up. “I don’t know what to do, Logan.”

  “About what?”

I tipped my chin up to meet his eyes. And without any malice, only with completely vulnerability, I said, “I don’t know what to do about my feelings for you.”

  CHAPTER FIVE

Shit. Everything she was saying was exactly how I felt. I’d come in here to apologize and found her looking like a siren. In that moment, the only thing I could think was that she deserved honesty. I didn’t know what to do with my feelings either, and holding them back seemed to be hurting more than helping.

I set aside my glass of wine and did the last thing I probably should have done. I took her hand and held it to my chest. “I don’t know what to do about my feelings either. I want you.”

Her lips parted, eyes widened. We were suspended in a moment, long enough I knew neither of us could go back from here.

“Do you want me?” I asked, giving her a choice. If she backed away now, I wouldn’t bother her anymore. I’d protect her, I’d make sure she was safe, and I’d keep my goddamn hands and my feelings to myself from now on.

  Elise nodded. “I want you.”

Those three words were like a direct line to my groin. My dick hardened, already begging for a release. It was a miracle how slow I moved in response. But I wanted her to have that romance, not just animal sex in the kitchen. Elise deserved to have every nerve awoken, tended to, and then taken care of. She deserved it all.

I gripped her waist with one hand and flicked the stove off with the other. Then I gripped her chin and tipped her face up.

“You’re so fucking beautiful,” I said. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted this.”

“Probably as long as I have.”

I slid my tongue along the seam of her lips, urging them to part. Knowing she wanted me as much as I wanted her took away all the tension. The stress.

When her hands slid down my torso and across my abdomen, she froze. I eased back to see her looking at the gun.

“It goes where we go,” I said.

“Then let’s go to the bedroom.”

A good choice. Less spontaneous, but a more enclosed space. A better way for me to enjoy her and make sure she was safe at the same time.

Without a word, I took her hand and led her to the master bedroom. It smelled like her, like the subtle perfume she’d put on. The smell of her alone made my dick throb. Being inside of her was going to be the best feeling I’d ever let myself have. Knowing Elise was mine for tonight made me want to take my time.

I set the gun on the table bes
ide the bed, close enough to reach it in a hurry.

When I returned to Elise, she stood at the end of the bed, ready for me. Waiting for me. I’d never seen anyone more beautiful. And never wanted someone so badly.

I let my fingers dance over her shoulders before reaching for the zipper on her dress. She let me do the work like she could read my mind. I wanted this slow, my way, and I didn’t want her to have to do anything but let me take her. Let me pleasure her. Let me leave her wanting more.

When the dress slid off her shoulders and I saw she only wore panties underneath, my dick grew so hard against my jeans, I almost exploded right there.

  “Beautiful,” I murmured.

I slid her panties down her legs and tossed them aside but didn’t rise again. Her legs were smooth like silk, and I skimmed my hands up the sides, reaching around to grab her ass. Then I pressed my face against her center, breathing in deep, before touching my tongue to her small thatch of hair.

Her breath caught, body trembled, and her hands slid into my hair.

“God, you smell good,” I whispered.

I slid my hands up her thighs again, and let my thumbs brush her slit. She was soaking wet already, turning me on even more. But no…slow and steady was what she needed. Maybe even what I needed, though I wanted my cock in her right now.

I wanted to feel her legs wrapped around me and hear her calling out my name as I made her come over and over again.

Without words, I eased her back, so her thighs touched the bed. Then I nudged her down, wanting to see her from above before I moved lower. Her hair spread on the comforter, wild and dark as onyx. Fuck. I could feel my arousal leaking through my boxers.

While she lay still, I whipped off my clothes and tossed them aside before kneeling at the edge of the bed. I spread her legs wide, opening her to see everything. Her perfect pink lips, her tight clit, and all that heat waiting for my tongue.

Slowly, deliberately, I licked up her slit. When I reached her clit, she gasped, hands clenching on the bed.

“Right now,” I murmured, lips brushing the hair between her legs, “I’ll give you anything you want.”

“Everything,” she said, voice hushed. “I want everything.”

“And I’ll give it to you.”

“But first…ahh…” Her words caught when my lips touched her clit again. “Logan, first…I want you to fuck me with your tongue.”

I swear her words almost made me come. Elise knew exactly what she wanted, and right now, it was my job to give it to her.

  #

Logan didn’t relent. He was as determined as ever to pleasure me until my whole body was limp. He started by sucking on my clit, sharp tugs that made me cry out. And when I was so, so close to going over the edge, he slid his tongue inside the lips of my sex. The heat of it, the feel of it inside of me, was almost too much to take.

When he reached up to slide two fingers deep inside of me, my body bowed off the bed. “Logan,” I gasped.

“I’m going to make you come so hard, you’ll be begging for more.”

I was already internally begging him for everything. I wanted more and more, and I also wanted him to get there already. I couldn’t decide. All I knew was that there was no hesitation. This felt right. The two of us here together, showing each other the kind of pleasure I knew only we could share.

Logan curled his fingers, hitting me in the perfect spot, and then flicked his tongue on my clit over and over. My body jerked, fists clenched, and suddenly I was there, on the brink of an orgasm. It exploded inside of me, making my whole body tense with pleasure.

I couldn’t speak, could only feel as he kept going and going, taking me one step at a time to ultimate bliss.

My heart rate spike and the world blackened around me one long moment as my body shook. And then I gasped, squeezing my legs together.

  “I can’t. Logan—”

He crawled on the bed, murmuring soothing words, even though he was rock hard. Pre-cum slid down his dick and even after my own release, I wanted him again. I reached out for him, but he shook his head.

  “Just relax,” he said.

“I want to give you what you need.”

  “You’re exactly what I need.”

He pulled my knees up, and poised his cock at my entrance, using his hand to guide it up and down my seam, spreading my arousal. I shivered, ready to come again, and then he slid inside of me.

He filled me so full, it felt like he was part of me. Thick and warm. I could feel the pulse in his cock, and fantasized about having my mouth on it, or riding him to the best orgasm he’d ever had while he nipped at my tits with his teeth.

As if reading my mind, he bowed his head and circled my nipple with his tongue.

“Perfect,” he said without lifting his head.

He nipped at the other one while he slid the rest of the way inside of me. I hiked my knees even closer to my chest to feel him as deeply as possible. I swore it wouldn’t ever fit all the way in there, but he kept shoving his cock further inside an inch at a time. I squeezed around him, clenching my muscles so he could feel it.

He exhaled. “Fuck, Elise. You feel so good.”

  “Take me, Logan.”

His eyes locked on mine, filled with amusement and hunger. “Almost, baby.”

The combination of the endearment and his steady eye-contact nearly drove me over the edge. How could he make me feel so wanted, so special, after it had taken us so long to get here? It was like he knew me better than I knew myself. Knew what I needed to hear and what I needed to feel.

After another breath, he started pumping his hips. He drove in and out of me in a steady rhythm that had my heart racing again. He speared me with his dick over and over, swiveling his hips and thrusting at just the right angle. My body screamed for another release.

  “God, Logan—please—”

In response, he pumped faster, harder. Sweat glistened on his neck, but he didn’t stop. Every thrust almost shot me over the edge again. Every grunt, every moan and groan was just another step to the ultimate release.

One more thrust and my body tensed up. My breath caught, and Logan captured my gasp with his mouth as the orgasm hit. I locked my arms and legs around him as we both rode that wave. His body jerked against me as he poured inside.

“Elise,” he bit out, voice choked. “You’re milking me so hard. Fuck.”

My sex spasmed around him over and over again, drawing out every ounce of pleasure. I wanted him to feel what he’d just given me. Wanted to know he was taken care of.

When his body finally went still, he collapsed on top of me, cheek to my breast, and listened to my heart going wild.

And I, finally feeling like we’d connected how we needed to, closed my eyes until my heart rate slowed.

  CHAPTER SIX

The wind picked up outside and the house creaked, making me jerk out of Elise and glance to my gun.

“It’s just the wind,” she said.

I nodded, though part of me was tense and worried that I’d let myself get too relaxed. Too distracted.

“Logan.” Elise reached out, her soft hand closing over my arm. “Everything is okay.”

She was right, I was sure. I’d been cautious when we’d left, when we’d driven here, and when we’d gotten here. And I hated leaving a beautiful woman in bed naked, but I needed to check the house.

“I’m going to do a quick walk-through.” I tugged my jeans back on, keeping my gaze averted. I didn’t want to see the disappointment that was sure to be there. “I’ll be quick.”

I was still shirtless when I grabbed my gun and walked out of the room. Top to bottom, I checked the house. I made sure the windows were locked, even though I’d done so the first time around. I checked the doors and assured myself nothing had changed and nothing was out of place. Downstairs, I swept the office, then froze when I heard something in another part of the house.

Feet light, I tucked my gun against my shoulder and walked down the hall
way toward the kitchen. When I swung around the corner and aimed my gun, Elise gasped and jumped back against the counter.

“Shit.” I set the gun aside and walked straight to her. “I’m sorry.”

She exhaled. “It’s okay. I thought—I thought you heard me.”

“I did. That’s why I came in here. I thought you were someone else because I didn’t hear you come down the stairs.” I smiled to make her feel better. “You’re stealthy. Like a ninja.”

But she didn’t move from her spot at the counter. Her eyes were still wide, and I couldn’t read the expression on her face, but it wasn’t good.

“It’s okay,” I said, moving closer. After just the briefest hesitation, she stepped into my arms, resting her cheek on my shoulder. “We’re safe here.”

“I don’t like being here. Not if it makes you so nervous. Maybe we should go back home.”

Home. I liked the sound of it—almost as if we lived together in the city—even if it was for the reason she meant it.

“It’s better to stay here,” I told her. “Safer.”

“Then can we eat dinner out on the deck?”

I eased back and touched her cheek. “No. Not tonight.”

Because she was disappointed, and because I knew she needed the distraction, I turned to the stove. “I’ll help you.”

Her eyebrows lifted, but she nodded. And by the time she’d had half her wine and turned the music back on, we were working in a steady rhythm and she seemed to feel better. She moved fluidly, almost like she was dancing. And it didn’t hurt that she was in a short T-shirt, maybe one of Isaac’s. But it bared her long, long legs and afforded me with a quick glimpse of her ass here and there. I could also see her nipples through the fabric in front, and after twenty minutes of that, it was already too much to bear.

“Damn it, Elise.” I captured her against the counter, hands on either side of her.

She looked alarmed. “What? What happened?”

“You’re too sexy for your own good.”

“Oh.” Her lips curved. “I see. So when I was wearing that dress before, it didn’t distract you, but now that I’m relaxed and just in a T-shirt, you can’t keep your hands to yourself.”
