My dick is leaking with pre-cum. I need to be inside Dante. I’m overwhelmed by this urgency to connect with him so he can feel all the emotions stirring up inside me. To see if maybe he feels the same. Quickly, I slide on a rubber and coat my dick with lube. With the excess, I massage his hole, smiling when I’m easily granted access inside his hot body.
“Jax,” he chokes out, pressing against the two fingers buried inside him.
“Hmm?” I stroke him just the way I know he loves.
“I have to tell you something.”
I slip out my fingers, replacing them with the tip of my dick. His warmth sucks me in greedily, stretching easily to accommodate my girth. We both grunt the moment I bottom out, deep inside of him. He turns his head, as though he wants a kiss. With my slick hand wrapped around his dick and my hips bucking into him slowly, I meet his lips with mine. Our kiss, at the awkward angle, is messy, but it heats my blood to inhuman degrees. I moan against his lips, speeding up the thrusts and stroking his dick to match the speed.
“I have dreams about you too,” he murmurs against my mouth.
I wait for him to elaborate. He doesn’t.
Conversation gets forgotten as I fuck Dante like it might be our last time. The thought of never getting to be with him again is a sobering wakeup call.
Truth smacks me in the face.
I like Dante.
Really, really like him.
I can taste the beginnings of something that could potentially be sweet after the sourness that’s been my life.
All I have to do is take a bite.
Swallow.
Accept.
Dante groans, signifying his orgasm, which sets me off. My teeth sink into his shoulder as I grind against him, dizzy with pleasure as I release into him.
If only everything else were as simple as it is when he and I make love.
If only.
I’ve already taken the bite…the rest is a little difficult.
Dante
Three Weeks Later…
“…official Chamber business.”
I glance up from my phone where I was texting with Hans about a claw-foot bathtub to meet Jax’s heated stare. Of course he’d fuck with me in the middle of our second Chamber meeting of the year, knowing good and well those words would get me hard as hell.
Everyone else is oblivious to the fact that I’m burning hot for the sexy sheriff.
“Are we going to discuss the Rainbow Vigilante?” Ned asks like a broken record player.
“May as well be a part of the monthly agenda,” Jax mutters under his breath.
Ned sits up, clearing his throat and drawing everyone’s attention. “Nearly every building on Main Street has the mark of the devil.”
Martha Joy snorts out a laugh. “They’re rainbows, Ned, not 666.”
“You all know my religious beliefs,” he huffs. “Those rainbows are clearly supporting you know what.” He darts his gaze to me and then skims over Kian and Cato. “So, to me, it may as well be 666.”
I hate this fucking guy.
“Can you clarify what it’s supporting?” I blurt out, unable to bite my tongue. “Not all of us know what your religious beliefs are.”
Cato and Kian both choke back laughs.
“Homosexuality,” Ned spits out, glaring at me. “You people can sin all you want, but I don’t want it shoved in my face!”
“Enough,” Jax booms, his voice dripping with authority. “There is an open investigation going for the Rainbow Vigilante, but this isn’t the time nor place to discuss it. If you have concerns, you’re free to see me after the meeting or call Brie up at the station. As far as your beliefs, Ned, those need to be contained for the duration of our meeting as we have other things to discuss like the Lobster Crawl.”
Ned huffs and puffs, but backs off as Jax takes back control of the meeting.
“The Lobster Crawl will go much like it always does,” Jax explains, “but this year we have the honor of naming the pier. The city has allocated funds for the beautification of the pier and Boardwalk. A sign will be created with the new name along with a whole list of other exciting things we can look forward to. The unveiling will happen on the weekend of The Lobster Crawl. It’s our task of deciding on a name that will make everyone proud. Cato is going to pass out nomination slips. Once we have them, we’ll put them on the Chamber website and in the BFB Daily Herald for the citizens to vote on.”
As Cato busies himself passing out the nomination slips, I cut my eyes over to Jax, who’s watching me with an unreadable expression. He does a helluva better job than I do when it comes to hiding his feelings. I can barely look at him without imagining his husky groans or the salty taste of his cum or the pine scent I love to inhale when my nose is pressed to his neck.
His eyes are telling—a brief flash of hunger—but the rest of him is stoic and serious. It’s a reminder that I’m his secret.
His secret that was supposed to last the weekend.
But here we are a month later, fucking every chance we can get. It’s an addiction I can’t seem to break myself of.
I don’t do relationships.
Toby made sure of that.
Yet, despite that mantra always playing in my head, it’s exactly what Jax and I are doing. It’s a secret relationship, but it’s more than just a weekend fuck fest. We spend most nights wrapped up in bed together. We eat meals together. We text all hours of the day. No matter how much I try to deny that I don’t do relationships, I’m in one, and it terrifies me.
Being with Jax feels real…
But it’s not.
I’m powerless to stop it, but if I don’t, it has the potential to shred me like Toby did. With Toby, he decided he didn’t love me anymore, certainly not enough to marry me. With Jax, I’ll eventually want more. To be seen in public together for one. To tell my siblings about the guy I care about is another. My dumb ass agreed to this, though. That I’d keep his secret. We could be fuckbuddies behind closed doors.
It. Was. Supposed. To. End. Already.
As if in tune with my thoughts, Jax’s penetrating stare bores into me. I’m forced to meet his dark eyes. Wordlessly, he asks me if I’m okay. It should alarm me he can read me so well, but I like it.
Someone asks me about the progress of the B&B, which has me dragging my attention from the hot cop at the head of the table back to the Chamber meeting. My phone buzzes in my pocket, and based on the raised eyebrow on Jax’s face, I know who it’s from. Once the attention is off me, I pull out my phone.
Jax: You okay?
Me: Just thinking about your dick.
Jax: Liar. Was it what Ned said? I hate that fucking guy.
Me: Nah. It’s nothing.
Jax: Zak works tonight at the bowling alley. Come over after five and I’ll cook you dinner.
Me: A date?
Jax: Hell yeah. We can watch a movie too.
Me: And then?
Jax: And then I want you in my bed where you belong.
The back door is unlocked, waiting for my arrival. I step over Ox, who’s sprawled out in the middle of the floor snoring. Jax is in the kitchen, shirtless in a pair of low-cut jeans, looking better than any dinner he can offer me.
“Honey, I’m home,” I tease as I stride into the kitchen where he’s at the stove, stirring.
He glances over his shoulder, a brilliant grin on his handsome face. “Finally.”
I step behind him, kissing his shoulder before taking a peek at what he’s making.
“Stir fry,” he says, leaning against me. “It’s nothing exciting, but it’s one of the better dishes I make. The wine’s on the counter if you want to pop the cork.”
I give his ass a pinch before I pull a couple of wineglasses from the cabinet. Once I’ve poured us each a glass of red, I take a sip, admiring his solid back muscles.
“How was work?” he asks, setting his spatula down and turning toward me.
I hand him his glass, admiring the way his pants hang low
enough to show the band of his boxers. Jax is so completely lickable right now. I’m tempted to skip dinner and get right to the good part. Him.
“Work was fine. We have most of the construction complete inside, so it’s been a mad dash to get decorations ordered. The gazebo has been erected outside but needs to be painted and we’ve put a new roof on the barn. It’ll be ready for paint soon. At first I worried we might not get done by spring, but it’s looking better and better each day. Hans really is good at making shit happen.”
Jax sips his wine, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallows. My eyes track the movement of his tongue as he licks away the wetness of the wine from his lips.
“This afternoon, I got a lead on the Rainbow Vigilante,” he says with a triumphant grin. “A witness who was leaving Blur late last night ran into a hooded person. A guy. When they bumped into each other, the guy fell on his ass and a can hit the pavement.”
“Did your witness get a good look at the guy?”
“No, but he said it was definitely a man and definitely a can of spray paint.” He sighs and turns back to his stir fry. “But, since he was drunk, he doesn’t remember anything else like which direction he went or if he got into a car.”
“Don’t worry,” I assure him. “You’ll find out who it is.”
He shrugs. “It’s a waste of time. The guy’s not hurting anyone. I’d much rather find out which fucker hurt Callan.”
That makes two of us.
Thankfully, Callan hasn’t had any more issues at school and no one has vandalized any more of my property. Until this morning when Ned threw out his nasty remarks, I’d relaxed a little and allowed myself to get distracted with Jax.
“Want to set the table?” he asks.
I collect his wineglass and take them both to the table. As I grab plates, napkins, and silverware, I casually say, “Shelly’s been bugging me lately. Really putting on the pressure to know where it is I keep running off to all the time.”
Jax grows quiet, just as I expected.
“Don’t worry, Sheriff, your secret’s still safe with me.” I flash him a wide, albeit fake smile. A promise is a promise and I don’t break those.
It isn’t until we’re seated and enjoying his delicious meal that he reaches over to take my hand.
“I’m sorry,” he murmurs. “I wish…”
I nod, shrugging. “I know. It is what it is. I know what I signed up for.”
We move on to lighter subjects. Brie is seriously dating the coach guy, which is surprising to the both of us. He’s your typical arrogant jock. Brie, however, seems like the type to date smarter. For some reason, though, she’s into him. Jax thinks it’s a phase and she’ll move on soon.
After cleaning up the kitchen, we settle on the sofa to watch a movie on Netflix, my head in Jax’s lap. His fingers stroke through my hair in a soothing way that has me relaxing. We may be a secret thing that can’t really go anywhere, but I enjoy the quiet with him when it’s just us. I’m not Dante the B&B owner who avoids relationships like the plague. He’s not the sheriff who’s stuck in the closet. It’s just us, hanging together like a real couple would, with no pressure to behave a certain way.
“You going to make me sit here all night or are you going to make room?” Jax teases, grinning down at me.
“Fine,” I grumble as I sit up, “but you have to be the little spoon. If the couch is too small and one of us has to go, it’s your ass that’s falling off, not mine.”
He chuckles as we get situated with my body wrapped around his. I bury my nose in his neck, getting high off his pine scent, no longer caring about the movie. He groans when I kiss his flesh with an open mouth, gently sucking. I slide my palm over his rock-hard abs up toward his pecks.
“We’re supposed to be watching a movie for date night,” he murmurs. “Not skipping to the ending.”
“The ending’s the best part.” I nip at his shoulder. “But don’t mind me. Keep watching your movie. I’ll keep doing this.” My palm drifts down his stomach to the button on his jeans.
“Dante…”
“Shh.” I unbutton his jeans and drag the zipper down. “You don’t want to miss the movie.”
“Fuck the movie,” he growls, twisting around to face me. “All I care about seeing is you.”
His lips crash to mine for a hungry kiss while his hand palms my dick over my slacks. Our breathing is ragged as we desperately try to consume each other. He abandons my aching cock to pluck through the buttons on my dress shirt in record speed. I’ve managed to free his dick from his boxers and stroke him with earnest.
“Too much clothing,” he complains, tugging at my undershirt. “Take this shit off.”
I laugh as I abandon his cock to tear away my dress shirt and undershirt. Once they’re gone, we go back to making out like two horny teenagers. He pulls my dick from my slacks, stroking me with the same urgency that I do with him.
“Don’t you want to take this to the bedroom?” I murmur against his lips.
“No. I want you right here on my couch.”
“Come closer then,” I demand, pulling him to me.
He nips at my bottom lip and then starts grinding against me now that our dicks are touching. We both hiss at the amazing feeling. I slide my palm beneath his boxers that are half hanging off his ass and squeeze his muscular ass cheek. He groans, flexing his hips against me.
“One day you’re going to let me in here, boy,” I command, loving the way his body trembles when I drag my finger along his crack. “It’s only fair you get to see how good you make me feel.”
“Yesss,” he rasps out.
My finger finds his tight hole and I massage it with just enough pressure to make him want it. His thrusting against my dick grows more erratic and his breaths come out in ragged pants.
“More. Please.” He pushes against my finger, but I don’t penetrate him, just continue my teasing. “Oh, God, I’m going to come.”
“Get my dick nice and wet, Sheriff.”
My words send him over the edge. Hot cum shoots up between us, soaking my hand and me. I waste no time running my finger through it and returning to his hole. He hisses as my slick finger presses into him.
“Holy fuck,” he grinds out.
I moan when his now cum-covered hand wraps around my length, stroking me with urgency. My finger fucks his hole in tandem with the way he strokes me. His breathing intensifies, matching my own, as he brings me to my own release. I cry out his name, lifting my hips, as I come with an all-bodied shudder. As soon as my dick stops twitching from my orgasm, I slide my finger out of him and pull him to me. We’re a sweaty mess, but I have no desire to move. Ever.
I wake with a start, confused at first by my whereabouts. Then, I realize I’m in Jax’s living room. After we got each other off and cleaned up, we settled on the couch in just our boxers to watch another movie. We both must have fallen asleep, though, because the screen on the television is black and it’s late. The lamp in the corner remains on, but the clock on the wall says it’s after two in the morning.
“Shh,” someone whispers. “Don’t wake up Jax.”
I freeze, realizing the voice belongs to Zak and he must be talking to Ox. He’s about to walk in on something he doesn’t need to see.
Fuck.
As I try to come up with a solution, his face appears above me, screwed up in confusion. Then, his eyes widen. Jax, blissfully unaware and softly snoring, doesn’t move. I’m pinned beneath him.
“Holy shit,” Zak chokes out. “I’m, uh, sorry.”
He backs away and I let out a curse. I’ve barely managed to untangle myself from Jax without waking him, when Zak reaches the back door. I stop him by hissing his name. Quickly, I grab my slacks and yank them up my thighs, zipping and buttoning them before walking over to Zak.
“Please,” I beg, my voice barely audible as I meet his wide-eyed stared. “Please don’t tell him what you saw. Don’t tell anyone. Not even Callan.”
Slowly, he nods.
I won’t.”
I scrub a palm over my face and sigh.
“How long?” he asks, his head cocking to the side as he studies me with new eyes.
“About a month.”
“Why didn’t he tell me?”
“Because,” I croak out. “He’s not ready. I’m not sure he’ll ever be. But, Zak?”
“Yeah?”
“I can’t lose this. Him. If you tell him you know or if anyone finds out, he’ll freak the fuck out.” I plead with my eyes. “I need him, even if I can only have him in secret.”
Zak’s features morph from shocked to sad. “He deserves to be happy. You both do.”
“I hope one day he can see it that way too.”
Zak squeezes my shoulder. “He will. Just give him time.”
I make a mad dash to get dressed and then we both leave out the back door together. When he’s almost to the garage apartment, he whistles at me.
“I won’t tell anyone,” he vows, his voice carrying over the chilly wind.
“Thank you, Zak. Thank you.”
He nods and then disappears around the corner. My heart beats double time. Had Jax woken up, having been caught by his brother, I know exactly what would have happened. He would’ve flipped. Somewhere in his freak-out fit, he would’ve ended things with us.
We may be a weekend fling that lasted a month, but I can’t lose him now.
I just can’t.
And that scares the hell out of me.
Jaxson
I woke up at five this morning in a panic. If Zak had walked in on us, I don’t know what would have happened. Luckily, Dante was gone when I woke up and I didn’t run into Zak. I rushed through my shower and have been guzzling coffee as I wait to head to the station at a decent hour. I’m about to head out the door when I get a call on the radio.
Fire station has been dispatched.
I radio back to let them know I’ll meet them at the location. I’m just zipping up my coat, getting ready to head out, when they radio back with the address.
No.
My heart leaps into my throat as I burst out the front door toward my Tahoe. I mash the button for the lights and turn on my siren, not giving a damn if I wake up half of Brigs Ferry Bay.
