The Darker Side of Me (Ravana Moon Book 1) Page 20

by S. L. Perrine

Before I could fall to the floor, he was on top of me on the bed. My hands reached out to him. My mouth opened to say something, but he crushed his mouth against me. There was no need for words. My memories came to me. A flash of a life I could have had. A tear escaped and fell down my face to my temple. He caught it with his hand and positioned himself over top of me. His movements changed, his body softened, and I wanted to feel the rage in him, the power. I flipped us on the bed and his eyes went wide.

I bent over him trailing kisses and little bites here and there across his chest. I plunged my finger in his mouth making him suck on it until I withdrew it and slipped in down to my clit. I rubbed in circles and watched him watch me. With my other hand and his attention diverted I grabbed his cock and squeezed it hard moving my hand; shaft to head making sure to pinch the head ever so slightly. He swelled in my hand and gasped. I blurred my movements, making my intentions clear as day. My mouth covered him and before he could protest the head was hitting the back of my throat and my fangs nipped his shaft. He moaned and bucked under me. His thrusts hard and fast making his head hit the back of my throat and my hand slide to his sack, squeezing and massaging. When he came, his body jerked hard. He let out a moan at the same time I did, and he collapsed back on the bed. He was panting when I positioned myself over his still hard member.

“I need to be in you, Red.” His eyes raked over my body. My bra was gone with a flick of his wrist, and we were back on the wall.

He dug his fingers into my behind pulling me up to him. I squeezed my thighs positioning myself once again, so I could slide over him, but he grabbed my waist, lifted and thrust hard pulling me down over his cock. “Fuck!” I yelled as the length of him filled me.

I exploded with each thrust of him into me. Each time I felt like he filled me more and more. My hands moved from his shoulders to his hair and back. My legs wrapped around his waist, my thighs pressed against him, moving up and down with him. I pushed him and he spun, landing on my dresser. The items on top went to the floor with one swipe. I pressed my palms against his shoulders and took control. My knees pressed against the wood, biting my skin as I pushed against him. The dresser banged against the wall when he pushed us around again. This time through the open bedroom door.

He spun me around and bent me over the sofa, spreading my cheeks he moved his fingers from my sex to my behind and I found myself anticipating him entering me. First the tip of a finger, then further. He moved his finger and placed his helmet just inside and held it there for a minute. I pushed back on him and he slid further.

“God, Ravana.” I pushed back again, “You’re going to hurt yourself, love.”

“You forget…I like pain.” I spun us around and moved him to the couch and straddled his lap, my back facing him and had him inside me again. I pushed him inside until he passed the ring, then I took in all of him pausing only for a moment before I began moving with him. He pushed up from the sofa with one hand, his other grabbed my breasts and squeezed with the same force I’d used on him. Then I was on hands and knees on the rug. He grabbed me by my thighs and slowly moved in and out of me. Until he couldn’t stand it anymore and he began to thrust faster and harder. I felt a well of pleasure within me. I screamed and grabbed a hold of the coffee table in front of me. The glass snapped in my hand and I flung it across the room.

Massimo pulled me back to him, both breasts in his hands. My hands wrapped around his neck and his body shook as he released his seed inside of me. We slumped together on the carpet, me in his lap, his arms wrapped around my middle and he trailed kisses down my face to my collarbone.

  “Mmhmm.”

“I didn’t ask yet,” he whispered in my ear.

“Well…when you do, there’s your answer,” I said still trying to catch my breath.

The bell of the elevator signaled a few floors below. I almost didn’t register that it was coming to the penthouse apartment. Normally, if it were one floor below it would come straight up, but not usually from a floor lower than that. Then I remembered Emerick and heard his voice traveling upward.

I grabbed onto Ravana who was still slumped in my lap and moved her to her bedroom, the door closing as the elevator door opened and then the apartment door.

“Any chance we can get these people to knock? Since they could possibly walk in on us…”

“What? Climbing the walls?” She laughed at me before pulling me into a long hard kiss. When she pulled back, there was a small amount of blood in the corner of her lips. She must have noticed me looking because she wiped at her mouth with the back of her hand. “You’re right. That’s very satisfying.”

“Red, we have to come to an agreement on that.”

“Only during sex… I got it.”

I wondered how aware of the company in the other room she was. Or if she was still in a euphoric state. I took a look at my chest, noticing the little bite marks here and there that were beginning to heal. The water in the shower turned on. I grabbed my jeans from the floor, foregoing the shower sex. I’d have to see what we could do to change that later. For now, I had an ancient bastard to contend with.

I wish I had a camera to get a shot of his face as I stepped from the bedroom turning my shirt right side in. The bite marks clearly visible to the naked eye, but to Emerick, it was like a billboard. Whatever he thought he was gaining by giving her memories back, he obviously did not anticipate losing.

I pushed my arms through the arm holes and pulled the shirt over my head, then buttoned my jeans. I opted to stay barefoot. Giving the look of being very comfortable in Ravana’s personal space.

When Emerick started staring behind me I turned to see Red, messy bun on top of her head and a signature white button-up men’s dress shirt with a pair of black leggings. She was also barefoot and smelled like fresh peppermint.

“Okay, we’re all here. Is he still alive?” she asked as she secured the last button on her shirt.

Emerick chuckled. “Now I see why you said that. Quite the genius, coating the surfaces with silver and iron. Unfortunately for him, he’s still alive. Fortunately for our friend here, that means it worked.” Emerick moved to the sofa we just defiled and took a seat. I knew he could smell her there, as I could. I knew before we left the beach that the transfer of his blood, even the small amount was enough to make me more than I was.

“Sure, for him. He was just a vampire. I was something in between. So, what am I now?”

“The equivalent of what we are, and now our new friend, Torrid.”

Red snickered, “Friend? I don’t think so. I say we cut his head off and burn his body.”

“So quick to jump, as usual.” He gave me an evil glare then turned back to Ravana. “He’s given us an opportunity. Or rather you have by creating him with a transfer of my blood on that arrow. Now we have a test subject.”

“For?” Red and I asked in unison.

“To test the limits of the vanadium, of course.”

“Right.” Red sang the word and began pacing in thought. “Where is the blade?”

“It’s in your armory, so I’m told.”

  “Delia.”

The Keepers had given Emerick access to the top floor, then they retreated to the sanctity of the library. Red looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders, then I said, “I’ll go this time.”

“Thanks.” Ravana gave me a weary look after finding them in a compromising position once already.

When I entered the room, I saw Kelly first, then my eyes adjusted to the light of the room and I found Delia sitting at a table two rows over. Two guards from the Order were posted inside the room. With Emerick on the premises, it was no wonder they had a little extra muscle.

“Ravana would like to speak to you, ladies,” I said and turned from the room. A sharp sting hit me in the back of the neck and I was eating hardwood.

When the Keepers came from the back room I dove into jump mode, just like Emerick claimed. He stopped me, a hand on my arm.

  “D
on’t touch me. I told you the truth. I got all of my memories back. I know what you did.”

“That’s not what this is about, Anna.”

  “Stop calling me that.”

“God damn it, would you listen to me,” he whispered a yell so the humans couldn’t overhear us. “Anna was a different girl than you are. She was taken advantage of.” He looked over at Delia. “She was compromised. Ravana is smarter and stronger. Open your eyes. Listen to what you’re told. Put all the facts together.”

“I have.” I shrugged from his hold and went over to my Keeper. Delia looked strained. Like she was trying to move things with her mind, but only managed to give herself a migraine instead. Kelly sat at the island counter and sipped a cup of coffee.

“Where is Mo?” Emerick asked over my shoulder.

Delia looked pained, but the look on her face cleared and she smiled. “He’s in the infusion room. Feeling a little weak from tonight’s activities. He told me to tell you that we could carry on without him. He doesn’t need to be here for this. He needs the blood more.” She smiled and gave a little laugh.

If Massimo and I hadn’t had infusions as soon as we arrived back at the Tower I would have believed her. It was so innocent. I sniffed the air and could tell Emerick was doing the same. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Still. Something wasn’t right.

“Where is the blade that came in with Torrid? I just want to make sure it’s cataloged and studied. It looked slightly different than any blade I’ve seen. Need to know why.”

She looked at me, but it was more like she was looking through me when she answered. “Oh, it was nothing special. It’s in the armory. On the shelf with the daggers.”

“I’ll go retrieve it. What floor?” Emerick offered.

“One below us. Fourth room on the left. Thanks,” I said staring at Delia. “Oh, and when you get in there, that item we spoke of is in the safe behind the bathroom mirror. You should have no problem cracking it. The combination is the day of my death.” I added a smile.

“Sure, I’ll just retrieve them both then. Be right back.” Emerick left to recover the dagger.

“Delia, would you and Kelly mind running out for coffee? I feel like this is going to be a long day, and sleep might not be on the agenda.”

“Sure. It’s so funny. Massimo usually sleeps like a log when the sun is up. It’s odd seeing him walking around when it’s so bright in here.”

Delia looked at Kelly who stayed planted in her seat. “You coming?”

“Oh, no. I’m dead on my feet. Could you grab me one too? I have to field a call from the Order on the death count from this morning. We need to get more soldiers here. Then, I think I’ll head down to bed. If it’s all the same with you.”

“Sure. See you in a bit.” Delia hit the button for the elevator and when it took a moment to come to the floor, she kept looking back at me. I grabbed a muffin from the island and took a large bite. As soon as she was gone the guards came into view. I’d heard them shuffling in the background, but didn’t know why they were present.

  “What’s with the agents? Order?”

“Yes, ma’am. With your Emerick here, and Delia and I just being human, I didn’t see any other option than to make sure the apartment had extra security. Mainly Massimo. He is my charge after all.”

  “Wise. Where is he, really?”

“He’s in the library. I know how stubborn he is. He needs to sleep, but there is no way he’d leave you with Emerick around, so we made sure he’d get some sleep. He’s fine,” she added the last when my eyes widened, and I stood. “I’m sure Emerick is aware what happened in here before we arrived. He’s not happy. He really thought he won.”

  “This isn’t a contest.”

“It is to them. They’re men.”

“That is true. However, if anyone is going to protect you from Emerick, it’d be Massimo. You’re not as smart as you thought.”

Before I could move to go find him, Massimo walked around the corner. He was rubbing the back of his neck and cursing under his breath.

“And another fail.” I laughed at Kelly and the color in her cheeks changed dramatically when she saw her charge walk into the kitchen.

“Did you ask psycho agents one and two to knock me out? Cause that wasn’t very nice.”

“She thought she was helping. Calm down.”

“Sticking someone in the neck with a needle is not helping. It’s an attack.”

  “Did you just say…?”

“Yes, a god damn fucking needle. What was in it?” He looked at Kelly with a crazed look in his eye.

“Just a little sedative. I was trying to keep you out of Emerick’s way. We don’t need him trying to rip your throat out for fucking his mate.”

  “I am not his mate.”

  “She is not his mate.”

We both screamed at the same time.

  “That’s not what he thinks.”

“I’m aware of what he thinks,” I yelled over my shoulder heading over to the elevator.

When the door opened I found Emerick and Delia together. Neither seemed to be happy with the other, but I didn’t care because Emerick handed me the vanadium blade. I made sure to hold it by the handle. If not for Delia’s presence, I would have touched the blade with my finger and watched my skin burn. However, we needed to keep the identity of the blade to ourselves. Killing the vampires with Torrid was imperative. There could not be a soul left alive with the knowledge of what that blade was made of, and what it was capable of doing.

I never feared anything in all the years I’d been reborn. Now, I was extremely aware of the fear as it crept up my chest from the pit of my stomach, like acid. The fear of death. I guess that was what this feeling was. The idea that with a simple swipe of this blade, we could be taken out. When only three hours prior it was the hardest thing in the world to accomplish.

I moved back to my apartment. Massimo stood close to the door and took a step back when I walked through the door with Emerick and Delia following close behind. The three of us stared hard at the blade until Delia cleared her throat and asked, “What’s with the funny looking blade?”

The thing was coated with black oxide. A chemical that kept the blade from corrosion when it touched our skin.

“It must be his signature or something. The black blade. I say we lock it away somewhere to keep it safe. We can look up its decent later. We all could use some sleep,” Emerick said as I examined the etchings on the blade.

“This isn’t just coating. Look.” I pointed to the blade, careful not to touch it. “There are a few spells mixed in with the elements. We need someone to analyze this. Delia, get ahold of the Order. Ask them for a trusted witch in the area. I’d like someone here within the week.”

  “Sure thing, boss. Anything else?”

“Yes, secure a room for Emerick. He’ll be staying here for a few days.”

“He can have my place today. We’ll figure something out later,” Massimo said walking barefoot to my room, yelling once he had disappeared through the door. “Kelly, could you show him to it?”

“So, we’re dismissed then?” Kelly and Delia both looked to me since Massimo disappeared.

  “Yes, get some sleep.”

Emerick didn’t so much as look at me. He turned in front of the women, moved back into the hallway and hit the button for the elevator. When the three of them were standing inside facing me Emerick’s face told me he was taking the situation as a challenge. So much for not interfering.

I found Massimo in the bathroom. The heat from the shower billowed out and filled the room. I found myself undressing before I could stop myself. I was tired, the sun was up, but for some reason, I couldn’t make my feet walk to the bed.

I slipped in behind him and wrapped my hands around his waist letting my fingers slide down his happy trail. His head came back and turned toward me, then his body turned in my arms. He took my face in his hands and crushed against my mouth. One of his hands moved to my bre
ast, his fingers kneading my nipple. He pinched and tugged making the pain move through my body to my pleasure spot. My body tingled and only increased when his hand moved to the apex of my thighs. His finger slid inside me, making me weak in the knees. I dug my nails into his back and he winced.

Blood ran down his backside and pooled at our feet mixing with the water and swirling down the drain. My animalistic side smelled the coppery sent and my fangs fell without warning.

“Now, love is a fine time to sample.” He smiled at me. Then tilted his neck. “Trust me, you’ll want to experience this.”

He picked me up angling me over his full erection, then slide me down his shaft. Once I had him fully inside me, he bared his neck to me again. “Go ahead, love.”

I could see the veins in his neck pulse as the water fell over him. Through the sound of the shower, I could hear the thudding of his heart pumping blood through his body. The vein in his neck called to me. I lunged forward taking his neck into my mouth, my fangs slid into flesh and the blood coated my mouth and throat.

Massimo started moving me as I drank. Mixed with the pleasure of having him inside of me the euphoria of the blood moving through my body was exquisite. He tugged on my hair making me free him from my grasp. A few more thrusts and we exploded in a volcanic frenzy.

I couldn’t help it, I knew she’d never fed on a human, and that she wouldn’t, but I’m no human. Vampires had sex promiscuously, except in the case when they fed on each other. I’d never had a female feed on me during sex before, but I’d fed plenty of times with humans in the past hundred years.
