I press a kiss to the top of her head, and she blinks up at me happily.
“My turn next,” I murmur.
Chapter Fifty-Six
Eden
I’m still in a delicious haze when I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. Everett and Gabriel are talking, then laugh about something, and the sound makes me smile even as my heart pounds.
I’m not afraid of being caught naked in Gabriel’s living room; I’m afraid he won’t stay.
Then Gabriel reaches the bottom step and sees me. He comes to an abrupt stop, his eyes widening, but desire flashes across his face. Then he says, “Sorry to interrupt.”
He starts to head toward the kitchen.
“Go on,” Lincoln tells me, grabbing my hips to gently give me a push toward him. I roll my eyes—I don’t need a man to tell me what to do—but it’s nice to know that he wants me to bring Gabriel and Ever in.
“We’re going to have to work on that bossiness problem you have,” I say over my shoulder to Lincoln. Then I tell Ever, who has stopped on the stairs, “You can wait in the living room. I’ll be right there.”
“Excuse me, who has a bossiness problem?” Lincoln calls after me.
He’d better watch himself. A mindblowing orgasm only buys a man so much lieuway.
I follow Gabriel, padding into the brightly lit white kitchen.
“You should come join us,” I tell him.
He hesitates, and I take his hand in mine as he asks, “Won’t that be weird?”
“Only the first time,” I promise him.
He looks doubtful, but he lets me tow him back into the living room.
“Julian once told me that I could probably have a happy ending if I ever thought I deserved it,” I explain, glancing around at this room full of the four men I love.
Lincoln is back to lying on the couch, but his attention is fixed on me, not the flickering blue TV screen behind me. Ever is in one of the wing chairs, his posture straight like he can’t quite relax as I go into this little speech. Julian lazes on the floor, one arm cocked behind his head, an amused smile across his face. And Gabriel stands in the doorway, as if he can’t decide if he’s going to stay or go.
“Well, I think I do deserve a happy ending,” I say. “And I want it to be with the four of you. If you want that too. Because you all deserve happy endings.”
I turn my gaze on Everett, but to my surprise, he rises from the chair without hesitation. “You know I’m all-in, Eden. You and I and Julian started something one night, and I don’t feel like we really finished it.”
Everett is at my side in a few quick strides. He wraps his arms around me and presses a kiss to my lips, then spins me around. Julian is right there, and the two of them press close to me, kissing my neck, my shoulders.
Gabriel is watching us, his eyes very bright.
I beckon him over and he crosses to us. Julian steps back, welcoming him in, and Gabriel kisses me hard. His hands and Everett’s caress me, teasing my clit and my nipples, and I gasp as the sensation of so many warm, hard hands sweeping across my body.
I reach for them through their jeans, stroking their cocks through the rough denim. As Gabriel kisses my throat, I fumble to unbuckle his belt, and then I turn, pressing my ass against the hard heat of his cock, and begin to undo Everett’s jeans.
Gabriel’s hand slides across my lower abs, then delves lower, sliding between my thighs. His knee slides between my legs, forcing them apart. His fingers tease across my folds, stroking a throbbing spark, and I work my hand over his cock and Julian’s, slowly at first, then as I lose myself in my own desire and in the quickening sounds of their breathing, I move faster and faster.
Gabriel buries his face in my shoulder, his fingers toying steadily with my clit, as his own breathing grows husky. Then Julian lets out a groan as he shatters in my hand, his come coating my thighs. Gabriel bites down on my shoulder lightly, his teeth grazing my skin as his fingers circle over and over across my slick clit. I bite my lip, trying to concentrate through the pleasure that turns the world into a warm haze. Then Gabriel’s cock jerks in my hand as he comes too.
The other men have stepped up around us, and mouths and hands caress my body, setting me on fire. As Gabriel continues to work his fingers across my clit, Ever kneels in front of me, plunging two of his fingers up my pussy. He finds my g-spot, caressing it urgently, and the molten heat pooling in my channel turns into a blaze. I gasp as the two of them together push me over the edge. Their handsome faces, their gorgeous eyes all blur into one haze as my knees go weak. Gabriel laughs, a low, sexy laugh intimately close to my ear, as he holds me up.
Then I push away, going to my knees in front of Everett, who had just been kneeling in front of me. I kiss him, my clit swollen and throbbing from the power of that orgasm, and his lips part against mine. His tongue thrusts inside mine, reminding me of how much I like to have him inside me.
I push him down on the floor of the room, then glance up, my gaze finding Lincoln.
“Come here,” I tell him.
“Bossy,” he shakes his head, but he still comes to me, with a look on his face that I can’t quite read.
Gabriel claps Lincoln on the shoulder, then pushes him to stand behind me. Gabriel takes a seat in one of the chairs to watch us, his cock still standing hard and erect, still glistening with his cum.
There’s no rush—we have time together—and yet I want to claim them all tonight. I want to know that we can do this again tomorrow, that they’ll choose me—and they’ll choose each other.
It’s Everett and Lincoln who have had the darkest feud to put behind them, and yet now the two of them move in tandem as they trap my body between them. Their hands and mouths roam my body until I finally straddle Everett. I sink onto his cock, until my thighs brush his rock hard abs. I can feel Lincoln hesitate behind me, as Everett catches my wrists and draws me down on top of him, until my nipples brush his rock hard pec. Even though I’m full of Ever, I ache for my men to fill me, all of me, and the position Ever’s just pulled me into should be an invitation for Lincoln.
I glance over my shoulder at Lincoln, hoping he’ll take the offer.
Lincoln kneels behind me, his cock brushing against the curve of my ass as he reaches around to touch between my thighs. I reach back and grab his cock, drawing him back over that curve.
Lincoln presses a kiss to my shoulder as Ever watches me with sparkling eyes. “Are you sure?” Lincoln asks.
“I’m quite confident,” I assure him.
“You usually are.” He takes himself in hand, dragging his tip up and down across the curve of my ass. I push back, full of desire, and he lets out a laugh. But his voice is rough with desire as he asks Gabriel, “Lube?”
Gabriel heads out of the room—bless him, because my whole body is hot and aching from the base of Ever’s cock caressing my clit, my breasts full and heavy with desire—and he comes back with a container of lube. He tosses it to Lincoln, who catches it against his chest, then leans forward, pressing kisses to my shoulder. Lincoln’s mouth on my shoulders just stokes my need, and I tighten around Ever, whose face is tense, as if he’s resisting the pull of his orgasm.
I let out a gasp as Lincoln finally presses inside me. The sense of the two of them filling me is incredible. Then the three of us begin to move together.
The world blurs, but I glimpse Gabriel with his hand wrapped around his big cock as he watches us. Julian has a smile lingering on his lips. Lincoln has his big hands wrapped around my hips, and Ever presses his lips to mine over and over again, sucking on my lower lip, pressing kisses to the corner of my mouth.
Then I let my eyes drift closed, overtaken by these men, lost to pleasure, as the world around me shimmers. A moan tears from my throat, and Lincoln lets out an answering groan into my ear.
Tingling heat spreads across my skin, through my body, and I bite my lip, tossing my head back and forth with the power of this orgasm.
Then I collapse, spent and exhaust
ed, on Everett’s chest, and his arms close around my back. His cock is still buried deep inside me, and my channel contracts around him with the aftershocks of that orgasm, as Lincoln leans forward and rests his face against my naked shoulder. The three of us stay like that, intimately close together, for a few long seconds as we all recover.
I’m so content right now that I almost can’t bear it. I’m not sure I’m built to be this happy, after everything I’ve gone through these past few years.
“So does this mean you guys aren’t fighting anymore?” I ask, just to break the moment.
Ever quirks an eyebrow at me. “Really?”
Lincoln bites my shoulder teasingly. Then he says, “Well, I have a feeling Ever and I will have to be friends to keep you in line, princess.”
But even if Lincoln and Ever have some work to do repairing their friendship, I have a feeling they’re still like brothers, deep down.
And now they’re my family.
Chapter Fifty-Seven
Later that night, I wake up in a quiet, unfamiliar room. I’m sleeping in Gabriel’s king-sized bed, between him and Lincoln. Julian and Everett are sleeping in the guest room—for now.
I stare at the moonlight pouring in through Gabriel’s curtainless windows. The man is a heathen, at least when it comes to decor.
Then after a few minutes, when I realize I’m awake and restless, I ease off the foot of the bed. There’s a thick fleece blanket lying across the foot of the bed, and I throw it around my shoulders like a cloak. Then I pad down the stairs, the blanket whispering over the hardwood floor behind me.
I step out into the cool night air on the porch, then settle into the porch swing. I rock absently, staring at nothing. I just need time alone to process all the strange and wonderful things that have happened. It’s surreal to think that this all began the moment I laid myself down on the cold linoleum floor in that jewelry store as the police screamed at me.
I rock for a long time, until I glimpse someone moving up the porch steps. I jolt up from the porch swing so hard it slams back into the house, and I’m instantly ready for a fight.
Elliot stands halfway up the steps, holding his hands up in a placating gesture, although his lips arch up in a smirk. “Sorry, Edie. Guess I’m a little too stealthy as a ghost.”
I stare at him. “Are you really a ghost? Or are you some kind of magic, like in the detention center?”
“Maybe I’m a figment of your imagination,” he suggests, hopping up onto the porch railing to sit facing me. “Maybe I’m a ghost who came all the way from Heaven to tell you it’s time to be happy. Maybe I’m your dream tonight as you doze on that porch swing.”
“Well?” I demand. “Which is it?”
He just smiles. “Sit down, Edie. Let’s catch up.”
I sweep my blanket off the porch floor where it fell. “You’re still bossy apparently. Just because you’re seventeen minutes older.”
“And infinitely wiser,” he adds. It’s a familiar argument, and it’s the same thing he always claimed.
“You’re jumpy,” he comments.
“I wonder why.” I wrap the blanket around my shoulders and lean back into the porch swing, pulling my legs up onto the swing with me.
“Now they’re really all dead,” he says. “Every last one of the Lords who were there that day.”
“Now can you rest?” I ask.
There’s something sad when he smiles at me. “I was always at rest, Edie. Now can you rest?”
“I don’t know,” I murmur. I study his face, trying to memorize it, because I don’t want to keep seeing his face that last moment, with his unseeing eyes and blue blood staining his chin.
“You’ve got four people to remember me with now,” he says. “I hope that’ll help.”
I nod. I think it will—I think it will change everything—but I’m scared of that hope, too.
“Let me see your wings,” he says suddenly.
“Let me see yours,” I shoot back automatically.
But without hesitating, his wings spread from his shoulders, stretching powerfully out to either side, shadowing the porch. The wings spread even faster than his smile.
His wings are gorgeous, full and feathered and perfect.
“Let’s see them, Eden,” he says again.
I nod, steeling myself to bring my wings out. I’m curious—I’m suddenly uncertain if they’re as twisted and broken as I’ve always thought.
There’s a snap, and my wings spread across the porch. They shadow me, glimmering with reflected moonlight.
It’s time to see how broken I really am.
But I already know that whatever my wings look like, beginning tomorrow, those men and I are going to fly together.

Part I
Their Shifter Princess
Prologue
Almost eighteen years ago…
“It’s a girl!”
Even from her bedroom, Angelica heard the roar of joy that went up from the pack, and it made her smile. The newborn had already fallen asleep again, her round cheek squished against her mother’s breast. Rain pounded the house, beating against the roof so hard that even she had barely been able to hear her groans in labor, but even with the storm raging outside, she felt peace.
David returned to the bedroom and closed the door behind him. A smile still played across his lips. The pack had celebrated the birth of each son in the new generation, from Callum on down to Nicholas just a few months earlier. But born shifter girls were rare, for some reason, and it was a special source of pride to have brought the first girl into Blissford Manor.
“How is she?” He carefully slid under the blankets beside his wife and newborn child, although he leaned on his elbow, because he wanted to look at their faces. Angelica’s wildly curly hair was mussed from the birth, and she’d drawn it into a haphazard knot on top of her head. Her face in profile was the sweetest thing he’d ever seen…except perhaps for the red-cheeked face of his daughter, with her long lashes and bald head. He’d never found newborns to be particularly cute before, but her first desperate cries entering this world had broken hi
s heart and filled it with light all at once.
“She’s fine.” Angelica caressed the baby’s face with her fingertips as if she were caught up in wonder. Her touch was so light that the baby slept on peacefully.
There was a soft tap on the door. Angelica added, “But I could use a cheeseburger. That was a lot of work, you know.”
“Of course.” David dropped a kiss in her hair and went to the door.
When he swung it open, Callum stood there. He leaned in the doorway, his freckled face—under a mop of dark hair— curious to catch a glimpse of the pack’s new little princess. David blocked his view, filling the doorway as he smiled teasingly. “Yes, Callum?”
“Do you need anything?” Callum asked.
“Well—”
There was a bang from somewhere downstairs that shook the house. The rain had pounded the house all night, terrible crashes of thunder and lightning rocking the outside while Angelica panted with the midwives and he paced. Lightning must have struck the house. Then the tingle of dark magic burned across his skin.
This was no storm. This was an attack.
The little kids, Josh and Kai and the baby Nick, would be sleeping in the nursery room at the other end of the house while the adults celebrated downstairs. “Protect the cubs until their parents can take over.”
Without hesitation, Callum turned and sprinted down the hall.
David turned toward the bed, but Angelica was already struggling from the soft mattress, holding her baby tight to her chest.
The sounds of battle raged downstairs, the crackle of magic and the growls and fury of wolves.
“They’re coming for her,” he said.
