Thanks to my family, especially the Sterns, the Baills, and the Rivkins, and to AJ, Rena, and Moreau. I really appreciate that you’re always there for me, and that you don’t get mad when I disappear to hang out with fictional characters instead of you. And to ALL the people I’ve been lucky enough to call friends at any point in my life, thank you. As Jade learns, true friendship is wonderful, but it can also be complex, and sometimes people lose touch or grow in different directions. Regardless of where we are in our friendship right now, I’m so grateful for every person with whom I’ve ever developed that special bond.
I got the idea for this book in part from my parents, Kathy and David Cooper. Not only are they the most supportive people in my world (and possibly the entire world), they are also some of the strongest. They’ve taught me so much about overcoming obstacles, and have proven time and time again that with courage, a positive attitude, and plenty of humor you can get through anything life throws your way.
And to Michael, the ultimate best friend. I am so lucky to have someone by my side who encourages, challenges, supports, pushes, and loves the way you do. Best friends for life.
