The door bell rang and everyone in the living room paused. Mr Williams was about explaining things to them when the door bell rang, freezing every form of motion in the room. The butler scampered off to check who it was. Mr Williams sensing it could be the detective, turned to Dan and said “Son, be calm okay. Whatever happens, you’re just a family friend. Play along with it till its over alright?.... I'm not losing you for the second time” Mr Williams said hastily.
“Hello everyone?” Detective Conan said smiling in his usual jovial manner while he walked into the living room. With him was a different officer from the former one. “With me here is Officer Damian " he announced. Detective Conan looked around and observed that the atmosphere was rather cold. Using his eyes he search for Mr Parker, who was seated at a corner and surprisingly with someone new. “And who might this be” Detective Conan asked inquisitively while stepping towards where Mr Parker was. “He's just a family friend detective” Mr Parker said, looking at Dan who was also looking at him. Detective Conan wasn't obviously convinced with who Mr Parker said he was as he suspected something weird was at play. “I believe you have the DNA report detective” Veronica said out audibly from where she was. “Oh yea...right!” detective Conan said looking away and facing everyone in the living room. “Like we all know, a DNA cross match test was carried out two days ago, using your various biological samples as reference DNA. The testing and analysis was carried out by Crime Scene Investigator, Mrs Catherine and her team, who unfortunately isn’t here due to the rounding up the case. As gotten from the result of the DNA cross matching test, am afraid Mr Williams Parker would be coming to the station with us”... He said looking at Mr Parker. Now everyone in the room was shocked. Bella and Mr Richard looked at each with their mouths half opened. “Detective, exactly why is he coming with you to the station" Gabriella asked impatiently. “I'm afraid, his DNA matched that of the blood in Lilian’s mouth. “what? Williams?”.... Jennifer shouted. “It can’t be, there has to be an error somewhere detective” Vincent said passively. “Officer! Please take him" Detective Conan instructed Officer Damian who walked boldly to where Mr Parker was. The rest of the Parker’s stood up in protest , questioning the detective who tried to calm them down. “Stop right there Officer".... Dan said authoritatively. Surprisingly the Officer stopped and everyone paused and looked towards his direction. Mr Parker also turned and looked at Dan “What are you doing? Mr Parker whispered to Dan.... “ I got this, don't worry, you won’t ever have to suffer again. Just trust me” Mr Parker said whispering to Dan. Dan simply turned away and walked up to detective Conan. Everyone watched, speechlessly as he approached the detective who was rather looking surprised. “Detective, does your suspect have any injury or wound to identify where he was bitten by the deceased?” Dan asked politely. Detective Conan looked at him closely and tried saying something, but words failed. In front of everyone’s eyes, Dan removed his left glove revealing his bandaged fingers and showing it to detective Conan, saying “I'm the one you want detective..... I’m responsible for the death of the maid. I came in to steal anything tangible but she caught me and was about screaming and alerting everyone of my presence and so I had no choice. I came through this open window" Dan said, pointing at the open window in the living room. Everyone in the room stood in shock as they turned their heads to look at the window he was pointing at, as if it had just appeared there. “I knew it had to be through here" the detective said to himself. Dan then continued “My father here is innocent, and obviously he want's to suffer for my crimes which I don’t buy. “Your father?” Detective Conan said looking shocked. “I swore to kill you if I ever found you, cause I thought you left me. But at least, now I know it wasn’t your fault and I know now that you indeed care about me. But this is my fate" Dan said, in a dramatic display of emotion. “Very well then” Detective Conan said. “Officer, cuff him". Everyone watched, amazed at that Mr Parker and his illegitimate son had just pulled off. Bella and Mr Richard were still shock as their personal theories had been disproved. Officer Damian proceeded to handcuff Dan, who was now looking at his father with pitiful eyes. Mr Parker on the other hand was looking at Dan with wet eyes, almost crying. Just as Officer Damian was about to cuff Dan, Dan swiftly pushed him with his left shoulder. Officer Damian fell to the ground. Detective Conan stepped backwards, everyone was startled. Dan then reached for his revolver in his pants, placed the muzzle of the gun in his mouth, aiming upward towards his brain..... “I love you dad" he muffled with hot tears in his eyes. “Son don’t” Mr Parker yelled and ran towards Dan. But he was too far from him. Dan pulled the trigger. The bullet blasted out little pieces of his brain out of his head. Sending him crashing down to the floor , lifeless. “Shit", the detective said. “Call the ambulance” the detective instructed officer Damian who wore a horrified look on his face. He then hurried away to do as instructed. The medical personnel’s arrived and moved Dan's lifeless body out of the house and into the ambulance. The Parker’s had undoubtedly seen enough today, it was indeed a day beyond expectations. Veronica sobbed while Mr Parker consoled her. At least they knew what the dream meant now and obviously, Williams has settled the score. But one more thing was remaining for him. He excused himself and went out of the living room to meet with Detective Conan. “Hey Mr Parker.... rough day it is right?” the detective said looking out through the entrance door to see the ambulance that was about leaving. “Two deaths in one week, that’s a hell of a record for this mansion” he said, looking up. “yea, I guess" Mr Parker said. “Sorry I didn’t believe you when you said you had a son".... “It’s nothing detective, you were only doing your job and I understand”. Detective Conan had phoned Mr Parker regarding the case, and told him to assemble everyone. The detective himself didn’t believe the outcome of the DNA result. So he let the cat out of the bag and told Mr Parker the result over the phone. “It's him, it's definitely him” Mr Parker had said over the phone..... “It’s who?” detective asked. “I know it might sound weird detective but I have a son, but I don’t know how this is happening. I am innocent. “I'm not sure you expect me to believe this Mr Williams, your DNA tested positive. You’ll just have to be sincere with me Mr Parker" the detective said over the phone. The call ended......... “And what about the report I requested for detective”.... “Oh yea, almost forgot.... thought you weren’t going to be needing it since you were about going to jail anyway" he said chuckling. Mr Parker smiled while detective Conan reached for a brown envelope within his coat. “There you go sir have it..... I guess everything is true after all. The maid and the butler weren’t lying" detective Conan said in a low tone. “I'll be on my way now Mr Parker, goodbye”... Mr Parker replied him absentmindedly and waved him goodbye while he was busy trying to tear open the envelope. It was a medical report that he had requested from the detective earlier. Mr Parker took it and headed straight for the living room where his family where. He was still focused on it while moving quickly and steadily towards the living room. As he go into the living room Jennifer was the first to confront him. She approached him and inquired “Williams, I think you have some explanation to do. Who the hell is Dan, and how the hell are you his father .....Williams I'm talking you to" Jennifer lamented. In response Mr Parker gave her a ‘hold on' gesture with his index finger without saying a word while he passed where she was and went further into the living room where Veronica was. Meticulously and rigorously, he examined the medical report he was looking at in his hand. Then all of a sudden, he gave a depressed look on his face. Jennifer then marched towards him and was about to fire at him another question when Mr Parker interrupted her and said loudly “Obviously I'm not the only one with a dark secret”. He handed Jennifer the medical report to go through. She inquired what it was, but he insisted she go through it herself. Jennifer scanned it for a while and then, as if seeing something forbidden, her mouth opened, her face grew pitiful as she assimilated the information in the medical report. It was a paternity test, which ascribed Vincent as Allen’
s biological son and not Williams. “How could you? I gave you everything you never could’ve had on your own. And in the end you choose to repay me with this......You’re so shameless” Mr Williams barked at Mrs Jennifer who was already in tears. Everyone else in the room had no idea what was going on. Veronica stood up and asked him softly “ What’s the matter Williams, what has she done?”... Mr Parker dragged the medical report sheet from Jennifer and gave it to Veronica. “It's a paternity test result stating Vincent here is Allen’s son”..... “What?!” Gabriella shouted. “Oopsie, someone still knows how to play dirty" Patricia said under her breath. “Hell no.... that can’t be" Vincent yelled. The butler and Bella where shocked to their bones. Allen, who stood frozen, not sure of what to say.... “Williams, I can explain. You need to calm down". “Calm down?, you sleeping with my wife Allen, and you’re telling me to calm down.... are you outta your mind?” Mr Parker barked. “Where did I go wrong” he asked with a pitiful face, “ I did everything I could to make sure all of you were doing sound, but this is how you choose to repay me?. At first it was Vincent’s ugly behaviours all the time, where did he get them from?, I wondered... But I let it slide” He said.... “Lilian once told me about you two, but I sent her away, yelling at her for such effrontery to lie to my face, then shortly she died. Wow! How surprising was that” Mr Parker narrated in a way dramatic way. “Not until the butler told me what he saw at the end of the hallway upstairs on the night of your birthday. This time I took it seriously, and surprisingly I remembered I woke up that same night but you were no where to be found. That’s when I suspected foul play but I needed to confirm it myself and so I phoned the detective a day after they had our samples for testing and begged him to help me cross match your DNA’s, I knew it was possible that Vincent would be a product of your abomination. And here we are now, the truth is wide before our very eyes” he said swaying his hands in the air. Now he turned to Jennifer who was already crying silently and said “And yea about Dan, he is my first child, I had him before Gabriella while we were still expecting. But I've kept him out of the family to avoid any issues in this house, cause all I wanted was peace. And today, the only real son I have, took his own life cause he wanted me free. I begged him to let me do this for him, but he refused, and took the blame on himself. Yes he killed Lilian, but it wasn’t his fault, it was mine. I made him suffer what turned him into what he was, but in the end, it’s obvious to all of you that he was a good person. Too bad Vincent is far from being that kind of man and I've always doubted you were my real son anyways " He stated plainly. You’ve made a big mistake Allen, for so long since childhood I've always had to put up with your stupid and mischievous acts, but this, you’ve crossed the line Allen. You’re fired!! Take your son and get the hell out of my house.....and as for you Jennifer we're getting a divorce” Mr Parker said, now panting and sweating as he walked out of the Living room. Veronica went after him in order to have a word with him. The butler and the maid stood in surprise at the series of unfolding events. Jennifer dashed for the ground in tears and wailing. Allen stood still, like a snowman. Gabriella sat on the couch and buried her face in her palms. Patricia approached her sister to console her. Vincent stood, with shimmering eyes, and wide lips, awaiting the burst of tears from his eyes to commence his feast of weeping and wailing that would mark the beginning of a new parody of existence for him.
