Bless This Love Page 6

Then he kissed her and she wondered if that was his tactic, to try and sway her.

‘This isn’t a trick of some sort?’ she whispered when he pulled away.

‘Stop asking questions. Trust in me.’

Joe pulled her very close and starting kissing her. This time she was totally committed to the snog and started running her fingers through his hair. Soon his hand was caressing her breast.

She let out an involuntary groan. He did it again and she wrapped her legs around his back, feeling his jean covered groin rub against her. He wasn’t holding back then they parted lips and grinned. Suri kissed his face and noticed he’d closed his eyes. Then she slowly started unbuttoning his shirt, looking at what she was doing. All the way her hands moved down until she came to the end. Their eyes met and she kissed him, while stroking his chest.

‘What shall we do next?’ he whispered. ‘I know what I want to do.’

‘Do you want to come upstairs?’ she asked, trying to catch her breath. ‘And don’t think this means I’m easy.’

‘Goodness Suri, you’ve not actually been forthcoming on the physical side and we agreed to go slowly.’

‘There’s slow and then there’s no movement at all.’

He pushed his hips into hers and she realised the movement he was getting at.

Standing up, he pulled her to her feet as she held his hand. When she turned he was holding his cross, and moving it from side to side on his chain, before letting go and grinning.

As she walked up the stairs, she felt him pull up her skirt and kiss her bottom. Suri turned to look at him.

Then she pounced, pulling him down.

A flurry of activity took place as she pulled off his shirt and he removed her top, then bra.

His mouth and hands were all over her and she couldn’t hold back, undoing the fly of his jeans and getting to grips with what was inside.

It was more than a handful.

Her skirt was removed and they were practically naked on the staircase, the kissing and touching becoming more heated. She felt his mouth travel down and his lips pulled at her nipples, while his hand squeezed her breasts.

‘We’ve got to get to bed,’ she groaned, trying to pull away and running to the bedroom. ‘I don’t want splinters in my bum from the stairs.’

Joe laughed and quickly followed her and they fell onto the mattress, rolling around and removing the remainder of their clothing until he was on top, his groin pushing into her.

‘I’ve got protection,’ she gasped feeling his hand between her legs, rubbing her pubic bone.

Taking the condom, she tore open the packet and handed it to him.

He was concentrating on other things, and making her quiver. Suri gulped, looking at him smile. She closed her eyes, feeling his fingers examine her nub, rubbing gently. Her wetness was helping and she was ready for him, even though she hadn’t had an orgasm.

He removed his hand, covering his end with the juices from his fingers then put on the condom. It looked extremely sexy, the way he was doing it and then the look he gave her was smouldering. Slowly lowering himself down and kissing her lips, he made his first entrance.

And what an entrance it was!

Moving slowly, he looked down at her; his lips were an intense pink when he kissed. Then his hand moved down and he’d found her magic button and he was rubbing it for some sort of trick. Looking down, she noticed his chain with the cross was gently swaying across her skin.

  He looked hot.

‘Oh, Jesus, Joe,’ she said, kissing his face and her mouth pulling at his tongue.

His fingers went faster and he continued with his slow thrusting movements. Suri grabbed his smooth arse and stroked his back, all the time feeling his tongue fill her mouth. Then she felt the beginning of her orgasm, the tightening of her thighs, the throbbing and pulling of her hole.

He knew what he was doing and then covered her nipple with his mouth, pulling it with his tongue and lips.

She was totally shocked when experiencing the depth of the muscle contraction in her body.

‘Oh my God!’ she yelped, unable to control her body shaking from the orgasm, holding onto his back, hoping she could appreciate all the sensations in her body.

It was as if she had passed out for a moment.

Joe’s mouth was sucking her breast gently before he started to move much faster. She felt his firm thrusts and gulped, overcome with excitement and lust. If she could have yelled out ‘yippee’ she would have. He was riding her so well and felt herself buckle as he gasped, then kissed her gently before letting out a little groan. He was muttering something while burying his head in her neck.

She looked at him as he kissed her nose, smiling brightly then laughing.

‘I love Sundays! Best day of the week.’

  ‘This is amazing!’

Joe was eating the two day old moussaka at the table, wearing his boxers. In between mouthfuls, he felt the need to kiss Suri.

‘Concentrate on the food,’ she grinned, still coming down from the buzz of having sex while fiddling with his gold chain.

‘After this, I want to take you back to bed.’

‘With the amount you’ve tucked away, I doubt it you’ll be able to move.’ Suri kissed his cheek. ‘But I don’t mind.’ Hesitating for a moment, she let out a little sigh. ‘Why did you wait so long to get physical?’

‘I didn’t wait long enough last time and landed myself in big trouble,’ he shrugged, feeding her. ‘And I needed to make certain that you were ready.’

‘I was,’ she laughed, placing her head on his shoulder. ‘I told Naomi I was seeing you. Is that a problem?’

‘I think that’s great but I want us to be discreet.’

  ‘Why?’

‘Because I do a lot of work in the community. I don’t want people to know about my personal life, not just yet. When I’m ready, I’ll tell the world about you.’

‘Okay,’ she said, sitting up and rubbing her hand over the hair on his chest. ‘I’ll have to trust you.’ Then she let go of his chain. ‘Are you religious?’

‘I believe in God. Is that a problem?’

  ‘Are you a committed Christian?’

  ‘Right now, I’m hungry.’

Joe finished eating and wiped his mouth, turning to face her. He planted a soft kiss on her lips before grinning.

‘You’re my girlfriend and I’m your boyfriend. We’re a couple,’ he said quietly. ‘And we’re getting to know each other but, you see, I already know you’re perfect for me in many ways.’

‘So smooth,’ she laughed out, then frowned. ‘What are you hiding? I know you’re hiding something from me.’

‘I’m making sure, that’s all,’ he said kissing her nose. ‘I need to be sure.’

  ‘About what?’

‘That you like me,’ he said and she noticed the apprehensive glance. ‘You do, don’t you?’

  ‘Absolutely.’

‘I thought as much,’ he laughed, sipping his water. ‘I noticed how you were ogling me for all those weeks. You didn’t think I’d notice, did you?’

‘I wasn’t actually-.’ Then Suri sighed. ‘I was observing your running technique, and it was very good.’

‘Were you checking out my arse?’

‘What a thing to say?’ she said, trying to hide her blush. Then she grinned. ‘Would you have asked me out?’

‘I was giving myself time to get around to it. Maybe in another three months I would have asked.’

  ‘That long.’

  ‘I’m a slow worker.’

  ‘Morning.’

Suri looked over, and he was still there, stirring slowly.

Joe, naked in her bed, was an extremely good look. He put out his hand and stroked her face before letting out a massive sigh, dropping back off to sleep.

‘You told me to wake you at six,’ she whispered, moving closer to his warm body. ‘It’s five past.’

‘That’s nice,’ he replied and grinne
d while his eyes were firmly shut. ‘Thank you.’

‘Don’t you want to go for your early morning run?’

‘No.’ Then he wrapped his arms around her, pulling Suri closer to his body. ‘I used up a lot of energy last night, so I need to recoup in bed, with you. But I don’t mind.’

She kissed his chin and laughed.

‘And to be honest,’ he said, opening his eyes to look at her. ‘The only reason I went jogging was to see you but now, here you are, in my arms.’

‘Smooth,’ she replied and started kissing his neck.

Suri could feel something start to jab at her thigh. She looked down, and it seemed every part of his body was wide awake.

‘What shall we do about that?’ she asked, watching him laugh.

‘As I’m a guest in your home, what do you want to do?’

Leaning over, she grabbed a condom, noticing the empty packets on the floor.

Joe was a good lover. She daren’t ask how he knew about so many things. Carefully wrapping him up, while kissing his chest, she straddled him and slowly moved down his shaft.

Working her hips, she watched him close his eyes, all the while squeezing her breasts and groaning. He looked gorgeous, and she wanted to please him as much as possible.

Up and down she went, again and again, then he opened his eyes and smiled, turning her over and thrusting deep inside. She held her breath and stroked his back, feeling him as his warm breath caressed her neck. Gradually he pushed her thighs up, and he was going in very deep, making her buckle a little, but she loved it.

The movement was getting faster, and she groaned in sheer delight, feeling him against her; the slapping of their skin sounded sexy.

‘You’re amazing,’ she gasped, shuddering at how her body seemed to react when he touched her.

It was a little groan in her ear that let her know he had come. It gave her goose pimples as his heart pounded hard against her breast. She didn’t want to let him go.

And she had no intention of doing so.

For once, going to the gym had paid off.

  She’d found Joe, the jogger.

  ‘Do I have to go?’

Suri knew she was scowling at the prospect of seeing Ted again.

She’d not laid eyes on him since his leaving party, when he tried to get her to have a quick one on his office chair. By then, it was over between them and she promptly slapped him off.

  He wasn’t happy.

Weeks later she heard he got his leg over with someone in the office that same night.

That’s when it was confirmed he was a waste of space.

‘It’s to welcome him back to the company. You know, he was sorely missed,’ said Edgar, looking out of the window as he stood in her office. ‘And it’s great he could come back so early.’

‘He probably got caught having it off with one of the boss’s wives,’ she mumbled then realised Edgar had overheard. ‘You know what his reputation is like.’

‘And yours is unblemished is it?’ he asked with a wry smile. ‘People talk.’

‘I know people talk. This town has been talking about me for nearly a decade. You get used to it.’

‘I don’t think you do.’ She turned to see him smiling. ‘And you look very happy, all things considered. I can safely say it’s like you’re walking on air. Do you want to tell me anything?’

‘I’m happy,’ she replied then couldn’t stop grinning. ‘Very happy.’

‘And Ted returning will rock the boat?’

  ‘What do you mean?’

‘Like I said, people talk and I know something was going on between you and him.

The smile was wiped off her face.

‘You’re allowed to make mistakes,’ he whispered.

‘No I’m not and … look, I didn’t know he was married. I’m not like that. We were seeing each other and I found out. I’d hardly laid eyes on him for all the years he worked here.’ She placed her head on the table and shook it slowly from side to side. ‘He keeps calling, you see. Wants us to try again and I don’t want to.’

‘Ah,’ Edgar said, sitting down in the chair opposite. ‘You think his return is to woo you back.’

‘I was never really with him. He was having a laugh while his poor wife was looking after the kids. Ted can’t keep it in his pants and … I’ve met someone I really like so there’s no chance.’

Then the grin came back when she remembered watching Joe sleep in her bed that morning. He looked so peaceful and angelic, which was the exact opposite to the sex monster from the night before.

  The man was on heat.

She was in heaven every time they were together.

‘Earth calling Suri?’ she heard Edgar say, coming back down with a bang. ‘I see you’re smitten.’

‘He sings,’ she sighed, glancing out of the window. ‘Joe does good things for the community and he cares about people. The man is wonderful. It’s as if I’ve been sent an angel to make me happy.’ Then she closed her eyes. ‘Though we know there’s a fat chance of that ever happening.’

She looked at Edgar who was smiling brightly.

‘Are you in love?’ he whispered. ‘I won’t tell anyone.’

‘The last man I loved died, so I’m not going to say anything. And it’s not been long between Joe and me, so I don’t want to force it and lose something I love again.’ Suri looked down at the ground then up at Edgar. ‘So yes, I am in love with him but I also have poor taste in men.’

‘Suri, you have to let it go, you know. It wasn’t your fault what happened to Rory and Felicity. You weren’t to know how things would turn out,’ he said gently, leaning forward. ‘No one was prepared.’

‘You lost your child. I lost my friend and boyfriend in a matter of moments,’ she said, gulping hard. ‘And in a few weeks, it will be the anniversary and it pounds my head. Ten years since it all happened and I can’t seem to break away from it. Every day I remember them and it’s confusing.’ Suri put her face in her hands, recalling everything as if it was being fast forwarded on film in her mind. ‘We were all so young.’

‘I think about her every day. What she would have become and how her life would be,’ he said very quietly as Suri looked up. There were tears in his eyes. ‘I lost my only daughter and I can’t get her back.’ Edgar gulped hard and stood up. ‘But in all that time, Suri, you never said what really happened.’

  ‘There’s really nothing to say.’

The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Edgar.

‘And you? With the ten year remembrance, don’t you think it’s time you start singing again? You have the most beautiful voice.’

‘It went when I lost him.’

Rory came flooding into her head. His face, smile and laugh. The happy moments.

How was she to know all the time she thought he loved her, he didn’t.

And when the secret broke about what happened, it not only broke Suri’s heart but managed to create devastation for everyone who knew them.

  ‘You look great.’

  Ted said.

He’d returned to work with a vengeance, looking extremely attractive. She could tell everyone was looking at him as she stood at his office door. He had summoned her up for a meeting.

It seemed her ex had taken to working out, and it showed.

He was always devastatingly handsome but now he exuded something she couldn’t put her finger on. It was a confidence, and he was parading around as if he was God’s gift to woman.

Right now, he had a valid point.

Wearing jeans and a slim fitting shirt, he looked trim, tanned and attractive. Then he looked at her as if she was stupid for missing out on the package, before sitting down behind his desk.

‘Close the door and take a seat,’ he said.

‘Why do you want to see me?’ she asked, doing as she was told. ‘We never usually have to speak.’

‘My new role is different. I’m still very much in charge of sales, but I need to get to know the feel f
or each of the channels. We’re trying to be more cohesive regarding output, and how I can sell the commercial space to clients.’

‘Right.’ She took a deep breath, seeing him lean forward. ‘Speak to Denise. I just check the continuity with the team. I have no idea on anything else.’

Ted then sat back in his seat, still grinning.

‘Suri, I wanted to speak to you, face to face. I know you’re angry, and I did let you down in many ways. At the time when we were together, I didn’t know what I wanted, I-.’

‘You’re now wearing your wedding ring?’ she said, noticing the thick gold band on his finger. ‘You never wore that all the time we were together, did you? Why the change of heart?’

‘I lost it,’ he laughed nervously. ‘Then a few months ago it turned up when we moved house. I hear you moved too. Where is it again?’

‘Let’s talk business or not at all,’ she said, knowing Ted thought his charm offensive might work.

‘Actually, there is nothing to discuss,’ he said quietly, looking down at his hands. ‘I love you Suri. I realised that a long time ago and I want to win you back.’

She immediately got to her feet and looked at him.

‘You don’t love me, Ted. You love the idea that I may cause a spark in your life.’

‘That’s not true,’ he said earnestly. ‘I knew you were special.’

‘How special?’ she asked and noticed Edgar was looking over. Ted sat on the big boy floor, where all the important minions were gathered. Suri was on the third, two floors below. ‘I felt like crap when I found out, but not from you, about your marriage. You kept that very secret, didn’t you?’ He looked ashamedly away. ‘I would never piss on another woman, not willingly. But by then, I thought you cared. Eighteen months of never saying a thing and then you ‘think’ you told me but weren’t quite sure.’

  ‘I know, I know.’

‘You don’t know the first thing about me because if you did, you’d never think about coming back here.’

‘But I am.’ Ted looked straight at her. ‘And I’m not going anywhere.’

Knowing she was in a no win situation, she turned and walked to the door, looking over her shoulder.
