I get pulled out from the memory that I was enjoying very much and I looked to see who it was that was trying to get my attention. Nikko was standing over me.
“What is it?” I asked a bit annoyed.
“A vampire is starting some shit with some Fae.” He said as he pointed to a tall, thin, blacked hair male vampire.
I could see a small Fae cornered against the bar. I shook my head. It was the same one that gave me lip at the door. I stood up and walked up to the vampire and then I placed my hands on his shoulders.
“Do we have a problem here?” I asked him.
“No. Fuck off.” He said
“I think you may want to rethink what you said.” I told him as I tightened my grip on his shoulders.
“He wants me to be a blood slave.” The small Fae said from behind the vampire.
“Oh, is that so? We have a room for that, but I don’t think you’ll make it until tomorrow night.” I said as I tried to hold down Zeus.
“What the hell are you talking about?” He asked.
I grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the floor. I gave a nod to the Fae who ran to the other side of the club.
“What the fuck is that for?” He asked.
“Starting shit at my club.” I said as Zeus broke the surface.
I leaned down, grabbed him by the throat and dug my nails into his skin, I heard his skin ripping. With one swift swipe, his esophagus was in my hand. He tried to laugh, all that came out was a gurgling noise. I smiled and ripped his stomach open with my bare hands. I shoved my right hand up through his abdomen into his chest and ripped his heart out.
I turned to one of my security guys and said, “Clean this up.”
I walked back to the guys and said, “Are you guys ready to leave?”
They all nodded and stood up and we headed out of the club to our cars.
Chapter Twenty
Claudia
I decided to have a movie night with the girls so we all went into the living room and picked out A Cinderella Story to watch. It was everyone’s favorite. We made popcorn and had a bunch of candy and drinks on the table. We turned off the lights and put the surround sound on. We all snuggled up with fuzzy blankets and pillows and laid out on the sofas or the floor. June had the remote to the DVD as she fast forwarded through the previews of the other movies. As we watched the movie, laughing and crying through it, I got pulled into another memory.
I was about five and Paul was about ten. We were at Hampton park. June, Makayla, and Bleu where having fun playing and chasing us. Mom and dad where sitting down on a picnic blanket. I looked over across the park to see two kids, one that had jet black hair and the other had charcoal hair. I caught sight of the jet-black haired boy, his eyes held so much hurt and loss. I wanted to go over there and help him. I walked over to Paul to asked him if he wanted to come with me to see if the boy was okay.
As I turned around to walk to him, I saw him walking towards us along with the charcoal hair boy. He stopped midway towards us and turned around and walked back over to his parents. I was a bit confused about why he walked away. I looked over to Paul and he shrugged his shoulders and waved me over towards the girls. I jumped on Paul’s back and we walked back over to them.
I got yanked out of the memory by Lorren pulling on my arm. I looked around to see that the movie was over. I saw that most of the girls were asleep and that the guys that had stayed behind tonight to watch over us were patrolling the grounds outside.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her.
“I just wanted to see if you were okay. You just looked like you had gotten kinda lost in your head there for a while, you missed the whole end of the movie.” She said as she sat back on the sofa next me.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I’ve been like this a lot lately. I think it might be the pregnancy.” I told her.
“It could be the babies, but do you think it could be what your parents did to you, now that you’re getting all your memories back?” she asked me.
“That could also be what’s going on.” I told her as I looked outside.
“That’s good, right?” She asked me.
“Yeah, it is good.” I answered her as I looked out the window.
She nodded her head and I watched as she got comfortable and fell asleep. I got up and made my way to the sliding glass door. I needed some air. I opened the door and stepped out. I looked around to see Emmett standing outside on the edge of the deck.
I let out a cough, “How is everything going?” I asked as I walked up to him.
“Hello, Alpha. Everything’s fine, everyone’s out doing their patrols and nothing new has come across yet.” Emmett told me.
“Good, would you want to come with me for a run? I think Carson and Paul would kill you if you let me go by myself.” I asked as I let out a laugh.
“I would be honored to.” Emmett said.
I began to take my shirt and shorts off, so I was left in just my sports bra and underwear. Emmett took off his shirt and shoes. We jogged over to the wood line, where I shifted first and then Emmett. Emmett’s wolf was a black and brown bridle his eyes were a brownish green when he shifted to his wolf.
I turned my head and mind linked his wolf, Poseidon.
“Let’s go to the water, I want to go swimming.” Noah said.
“That will be fun, I love the water.” Poseidon told Noah.
We took off running toward the water, the feel of the wind running through my fur felt so amazing. I looked over to my left to see a big smile on Poseidon’s face. I couldn’t help but smile myself, it brought back memories of when I was going through the grief of losing my parents. We would always go for runs and they would always have to pull me back from going too deep and running myself to death.
When we got to the meadow he stopped and looked at me. I stopped and took a few deep breaths. Poseidon walked over to me and sat down.
“Are you okay? Do you need a minute?” Poseidon asked me.
“I’m okay, just need to take a breath. Not use to having a baby growing inside me.” Noah let out a laugh.
“Okay, just checking on you.” Poseidon said.
I gave him a smile, got back up and took off again. I ran all the way to the water and I didn’t wait for them. I jumped in and swam around for about six minutes until he came and finally joined me in the water.
I splashed water on Poseidon and swam away before he could do anything back. I slapped the water in his direction with my front paws and it soaked him. He turned around and did the same to me, soaking me.
We both got soaked from splashing each other and horsing around. We spent hours and hours in the warm ocean waters, and finally we got out and shook the water off before we made our way back to the house. Poseidon was the big only because he was Carson’s cousin and was Romanian. He was about five inches taller than Noah. He was smaller than Carson and the same size as Harper.
We took off towards the house and decided to take the short cut. We went straight from the water and into the woods, it led past to the meadow. As we ran to the house, we could feel our fur drying in the warm Spring air. We reached the wood line in seconds where we shifted back to our human forms then walked to grab our clothes and put them on before we walked back inside.
“Thank you for taking a run with me. It brought back some great memories for me.” I said.
“We should do it again. It was a lot of fun.” Emmett said as he gave me smile.
We opened the back door and stepped inside to see Carson standing there. He looked like he was pissed off and wanted to kill someone.
“What’s going on?” I asked him.
Chapter Twenty-One
Claudia
“Some low life vampire pissed me off and I killed him.” Carson told me.
“Is that all?” I asked cocking my head to the side.
“Where were you?” He asked me.
“I went out for a run. Emmett came with me. We spent some time in the water and we just got back.”
I said as I looked around at everyone.
“Good, at least you were with someone.” Paul replied.
I let out a small laugh because Paul seemed to be in a better mood. I looked back at Carson to see a look of pain in his eyes.
“Where is Lavender at? I need to ask her something.” Carson asked as he scanned the room.
“She’s in her shed, I’ll walk with you.” Max said before I could answer him.
“Yes, let’s go. I’ll see you after.” Carson said as he kissed my head.
I watched as he and Max walked outside to Lavender’s shed. I looked back to see that Paul was the only one still in the room with me.
“Did you have fun?” I asked him as I walked over to the sofa.
“Yes, I did. Carson and I had a moment. Then Ashton and Sam had me laughing, they made sure I had a good time. I told Carson about the problems we had with Carter.” He told me.
“He needed to know, and it would only be a matter of time before he found out. I’m glad y’all had a bonding moment.” I said as he wrapped his arms around me like he would do when we were younger.
“Me too. What did y’all do while we were gone?” He asked.
“We watched a movie and I had another memory and then Emmett and I went out for a run. It was really good for us.” I said as I snuggled up against my brother’s chest.
“I’m glad. We both need to go for runs sometimes, just like in the old days.” He said.
“Yes, we do. Let’s do it soon.” I told him as I sat up a bit.
He kissed my head before he got up, “I’m going to bed, you should do the same. Those babies need their mom to rest.”
“Okay, help me up, please? I shouldn’t have sat down, it’s tough for me to get up nowadays,” I told him as I held out my hands.
He chuckled and pulled me off the sofa. We made our way to the stairs and up to our rooms. We get to his room first and he kissed my head before he opened his door and walked in. I walked towards my room and opened the door before deciding to take a hot shower.
I walked into the bathroom and stripped my clothes off. I turned on the water in the shower and stepped into it. I let the water hit the sore muscles in my back and neck. I grabbed my body wash and washed my body and as I let the suds wash off, I heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” I yelled.
“It’s me, Carson.” I heard from the other side of the door.
“Come in.” I replied.
I heard him walk in. He opened the shower door and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my neck were my mate mark was. I couldn’t hold back a moan. Chapter Twenty-Two
Carson
I needed her after that low life pissed me off. That was first kill I’d had since I met Claudia and I had missed it so much. I’d calmed down since I became mated. Claudia and the babies were what I was fighting for. No one knew what she and those babies meant to me. I knew they would come fast, and I couldn’t wait to meet them. She’s not that far along and wolves only carry for a little over five months, so she only had a couple more months to go.
I had finally popped the question. I’d wanted to for weeks, but there had been so much going on, I just hadn’t found the right time. I knew that I wanted to ask her before the babies came. When I’d finally done it, she’d said yes. I was happy as hell right now as I pulled her closer to me and let her sleep.
I wondered if when her mom wiped out Claudia’s memories of me, it was possible that she had wiped any trace of Claudia from my memory as well. Which in fact was a very high possibility that perhaps no one had previously considered. I did remember Claudia when we were younger, but there were memories that were popping back up that I’d forgotten about. Lavender said that the memories that were coming back to me were the same ones that Claudia was piecing back together as well. What she couldn’t explain or figure out right away was if it was a simple spell or if it was something more complicated.
