“The guys would never go for that,” I said skeptically.

“We could always blackmail them,” Ivy suggested. “Maybe we could even convince them to do some demonstrations.”

I snorted in amusement. “Yeah, I’d like to see that. Could you see Jules walking out with a riding crop to give demonstrations?”

“Please, all I’d have to do is bring up something that happened when we were together before and I’d have him eating out of the palm of my hand.”

“Are you sure he really doesn’t remember you? I mean, he remembers everything else. How could he just have forgotten you? Does he just not remember all those hours he was with you?”

“As far as I know, he doesn’t remember a thing.”

I smiled evilly. “All you have to do is tell him that he’s done it before for you. He can’t tell you no if he’s already done it and if he’s lying about the amnesia, he’ll have to come clean.”

“Emma, your name is too sweet for the way your brain works.”

“There’s just one problem. If we can’t get a bank to give us money for the bookshop, what makes you think they’ll give us money for this?”

“Because every other woman at Reed Security is in a similar situation. If we all put in just a little money, we could fund the start-up ourselves.”

We clinked our glasses together and drank down the wine. It was time to call together a little meeting.
