  “Sounds like a shifter I know,” he said. “I could probably arrange an introduction.”

  “How about you arrange a date?” Cas said, unabashed. “I’ll take that shifter out for a drink, and he can show me how he keeps all that hair . . . er, fur . . . so soft and manageable.” She ran a hand through her own locks, which still needed a trim. “I could use the tips.”

  Graham’s face broke out in a wide smile, and a chuckle started low in his chest and rumbled up into his throat. He nodded. “I think he’d like that. Happy birthday, Cascade.”

  “Thanks,” Cas said. She sneezed, and colorful fireworks erupted above them. She tipped her head back to watch them and laughed. “Life begins at fifty,” she said with a happy sigh.
