The mayor didn’t look happy about it, but he nodded slowly.
“Semra,” I said, turning back to the tiny TV. “Is there any way you can broadcast to the Termina holo stations?”
“I was hoping you were going to ask that,” she said with a wry smile, seeming to press a button on a device that was out of view. “There we go, you’re live.”
“Alright then,” I said, leaning on Cindra to stand. “As my first decree in this new world, I’m executing this war criminal as a sign of good faith to my own people, and to yours. He’s betrayed all of us, and now he’s going to pay for all to see.”
Without any help despite my injuries, I marched over to Achilles and took a holo knife from Clem, since I’d left my own back in the Tibor Enterprises tower. Achilles looked up at me, and I didn’t need to perform a soul gaze on him to know that he was very well aware of what was about to happen.
I brought the blade down on his neck, and the crowd cheered. The whole crowd, both my people and theirs.
“To new beginnings,” I said.
