Brother's Keeper Page 28

by Richard Ryker

“It takes more than smarts to solve a murder,” Brandon said. “It takes being a stubborn son-of-a-bitch.”

“We both know where you got that from,” his dad said, chuckling. He held up his beer. “To Eli.”

Their cans touched with a dull clang.

  Brandon met his father’s gaze.

  “To Eli.”

  Thank You

Thank you for reading Brother’s Keeper. While this novel is the second book in the Brandon Mattson series, the stories don’t have to be read in order (I’ve tried to avoid spoilers in book two). To see my other novels, please visit www.richardryker.com

I always learn a ton when doing research a novel and this time was no different. I first became interested in the underground timber trade and its associated criminal elements while watching the Olympic Peninsula-based Dark Woods Justice program on television. I knew I needed Brandon to solve Eli’s murder and this was a great opportunity to move the action outside of Forks and into the surrounding wilderness.

Writing is a passion I hope to continue to pursue for many years. I’m currently working full time, so I find time to write before work in the morning and on my lunch break (at times, in the front seat of my car!). I hope to share my characters and their stories with as many people as possible. The best way for me to do that is to get more reviews on Amazon. Would you consider leaving a review on the Amazon page for this book? I read every review and appreciate your effort, even if it is just a couple of sentences.

If you were dissatisfied or found errors (or just want to say hi), please send me an email. I’m always interested in feedback: [email protected]
