“So, what now?” he asks as I lock the door
“Fillin’ the pantry”

“Fuck!” I say and Blaze laughs
“You need to buy the kid a cot and a fuckin’ car seat” he says and I remember watchin’ Dove place the kid in the back seat of her car in that basket and even I know that shit is dangerous
“Fuck this is gonna cost me an arm and a leg” I mumble and Blaze laughs again
“Fuck Brother this is gonna cost you way more than that” he says walkin’ off laughin’ his head off and I give him the finger as he laughs even louder as the two of them drive off down the driveway (asshole).
Chapter Seventeen
Dove
As Maggie walks in with Wiley I take a deep breath taking her from her “Thank you so much” I tell them and grab Wiley’s bag
“Where are you going?” Maggie asks me
“I need to get her to Delores’s and get to work, I’m already late and I need this job”
“But you…...just take a night off” Niya says and I shake my head
“I can’t I have to go, thankyou again I really appreciate your help today” I walk out to the main room when I see Chase again and I smile
“Hi” I say and he smiles back
“Hey neighbour” he says making me smile
“I wondered where you went”
“The Devils Soldiers are my family, it was time to come home” he says as a huge guy stands next to him his dark eyes watching us
“There your family?” I ask confused and he nods
“Yeah, my Dad and brother are in the club” he says motioning to the guy next to him
“Brothers?” I ask and the guy holds out his hand
“Blaze” he says and I take his hand
“Nice to meet you” I say stepping away needing to go. “I really have to go, it was nice to meet you Blaze, bye neighbour”
“Chase” he calls out and I smile
“Bye” I say walking out to my car placing Wiley in her basket (god I really need a car seat for her). I start to back out of the spot when the gates to the compound open and a big black truck drives in, pulling in behind me blocking me (god dammit) I’m totally going to lose my job, I get out of the car to ask the person to move when Socket comes around the front of the truck frowning at me
“Where the fuck, are you going?” he asks as I look at my watch again
“Look Socket, I’m not in the mood or have the time, I need to get Wiley to the sitter so I can get to work.” Wiley starts to fuss in her basket and Socket opens the door taking her out holding her and I smile in shock that he’s holding her, it was only a week ago he refused to even acknowledge that she was even his
“You’re not goin’ anywhere” he tells me and I step forward to take Wiley but he moves her out of my reach
“Socket, don’t be an asshole, I need to get to work” I tell him getting pissed off
“I said you ain’t going anywhere”
“Socket, stop fucking around I need to go”
“No” he says walking off with Wiley and I run after him
“Socket stop!” I try and grab Wiley but he walks around to the other side of the truck and opens the door placing Wiley in a car seat and I frown as he buckles her in “Socket what the hell?”
“Get in the truck Dove” he tells me and I step back staring at him
“Socket” I ask confused at what he’s doing and he turns facing me
“I said get in the truck” I shake my head and he sighs grabbing my arm and pulling me back around to the passenger’s side and opening the door. “Get in” he says pushing me closer to the seat and I look at him
“Socket”
“Get in the fuckin’ Truck!” I take a deep breath at his bossiness and climb into the truck and watch him walk around to the front of the truck getting in, I turn and see Wiley quite content and comfy in her new seat.
“Where are we going?” I ask
“To get something to eat I’m starving” he looks over at me “anywhere you wanna go?” I shake my head “Good the Smokin’ Grill it is” he says and I bite my lip not sure if I have enough for that and he laughs. “God Dove it’s just a burger” (yeah that I can’t afford)
“Sure” I say, maybe I could get a small fries or a kids’ meal.
Chapter Eighteen
Socket
I watch as she sits going over the menu, she keeps looking around and I notice her squirming in her seat “What the fuck is wrong?” I ask her as she looks back down at the menu like it holds the secrets to the universe
“I can’t decide” she says as the waitress comes up and I grab the menu from her
“Two burgers with the lot, fries and two cokes” I tell her and she walks off smiling at me
“Socket I can’t afford that” she says and it fucks me off that she thinks I’d bring her here and make her pay for shit
“My treat darlin’” I tell her and she bites her lip and I roll my eyes. She sits back folding her arms and her tits sit up more and my dick jumps to attention (fuck she’s got nice tits). The food arrives and I watch as she relaxes as the kid sits in her car seat beside her
“God, this smells amazing” she says makin’ me smile
“You never been here before?” I ask her as she takes a big bite of her burger but shakes her head at the same time

“It’s a twelve-dollar burger, how is that expensive?” I ask but she snorts
“Socket, I buy everything from the dollar store, that’s my extent of living”
“The dollar store” I ask her and she nods
“Yep, you can find a real bargain in the bargain bins” she tells me and I frown at her (she buys shit out of bins)
“What the fuck are bargain bins?” I ask her and her eyes light up
“Oh, I love bargain bins, its where at the end of a holiday or a special they have left over stock and they reduce the price”
“They reduce the shit that only costs a dollar” she nods her head the biggest smile on her face
“Yep, it’s the shit Socket, I can’t believe you’ve never been to the dollar store” I shake my head wondering what sort of shit they sell at a dollar store
“Ok darlin’ I’ll take your word for it” she takes another big bite and moans my dick now strainin’ in my jeans (what the fuck is wrong with me its Jewel’s sister) I watch as she takes a bite than a fry than a drink
“God this is so good.” I shake my head again and bite into my own burger and hold back the moan, the explosion of taste is fuckin’ perfect. As we finish up I pay the bill and we head back out to my truck, I watch as she puts the kid in the cradle for her seat and lean down and kiss the kid on the cheek her perfect ass at eye level and my dick jumps to attention even more than it already is. I walk her to the passenger’s side of my truck and open the door for her, she looks up at me blushing and I make sure she’s in before I close the door and walk to the back of my truck and pull on my dick (fuck this bitch has me fuckin’ hard). I take a deep breath and get into the truck “So where to now?” I ask her and she turns and looks at me
“I need to take Wiley to the sitter” she says but I shake my head no. “Socket I need to work please take me” she says almost beggin’ and it hits me in the heart
“No, you’re not workin’ at Pink Slip” I tell her and she takes a deep breath turning to face me
“Socket I need to work and Wiley needs things and shit is not free”
“Then I’ll buy it” I tell her and she laughs “What?”
“It was only last week you didn’t want anything to do with Wiley and now you want to buy all the things she needs” I look back
at the kid behind me not wanting to tell Dove I’m doing this for her and not the kid
“Well, Wiley needs bottles and things doesn’t she?” I ask her and she bites her lip and I almost moan staring at them wondering what they taste like.
“Yes, but I can pay for them” she tells me and I smile leaning in
“Baby you don’t have a job” I tell her and she frowns her nostrils flare and I see her cute little face go from gorgeous to pissed off
“What do you mean I don’t have a job!”
“You quit” I tell her
“I WHAT!?”
“You quit” I tell her and she narrows her eyes her jaw clenching and her little fist ballin’ up and I swear my dick is gonna pop out of my jeans, I’m that fuckin’ hard at how cute she is
“Take me back to the clubhouse please” she says sitting back calmly folding her arms and my eyes stare at her tits again
“Dove” I say but she sits there fuming
“I said take me back to the clubhouse”
“No” I say and she turns looking at me
“Socket your being an asshole and I really need to get away from you before I lose my shit” she tells me and I smile (fuck I love her smart mouth)
“Ain’t happening” I tell her startin’ the truck and head back towards the baby store where I bought the car seat
“Where are we going?” she asks me
“To the baby store.”

By the time we leave the fuckin’ store I’m over a grand down and we hardly bought anything. I help her back into the truck and as I’m putting the kid in the back she turns and looks at me
“We can take things back” she says and I look up at her as she blushes
“Why?”
“It was really expensive and Wiley doesn’t need all those things now” she tells me as I get back in the truck and look at her
“Its fine Dove” I tell her but she keeps bitting her lip. “What?” I ask her and she turns to look at me
“I could have gotten some of that stuff from the dollar store” she says and I laugh shaking my head and she smiles
“I think I should check this place out if I can get a crib for a buck” she laughs slapping me on the arm and I love it immediately, her laugh making my heart beat faster
“Not the crib, I was talking about bottles and things”
“Its fine, we got them so they’ll do” I tell her and she nods as I pull out and head down the street to the grocery store
“More shopping?” she asks
“I’m sure they sell ramen noodles” I joke and she laughs again and goes to open the door “Wait” I tell her and get out walkin’ around and open her door holding out my hand for her. I take the kid from her as she grabs the trolley and she places the kid sideways. We walk around the store and I take notice of the shampoo and shit she picks up and other things, it takes us just over an hour to go through the whole store.
As where at the checkout I see Lila, Candy and Bliss at one of the other checkouts and they walk up to us “Hey Socket” Lila says and I nod
“Ladies” I say and Dove looks up at them and I see her give them the once over than step back
“Are you heading back to the clubhouse?” Lila asks me and I nod
“Yep, just as soon as we pay for this” I tell the three of them and Lila smiles at me but I see the others giving Dove the stink eye and I stand in front of her
“Problem?” I ask them and they all shake their heads no
“Am I with you tonight Socket?” Lila asks and I know she’s doing it to make Dove uncomfortable
“Nope” I tell her and she frowns
“Then we’ll see you back at the clubhouse” I nod as the three of them walk off whispering to each other and I turn lookin’ at Dove but she doesn’t look bothered
“One-fifty-seven” the cashier says and I hand her two one-hundred-dollar bills, Dove doesn’t look at me and it fucks me off. I push the cart out to my truck and she still hasn’t said anything, I put all the shopping in the tray with the other shit we bought and watch her talkin’ to the kid strappin’ her in than getting down and I walk her to the door and help her up. The girls drive past honking their horn and Dove turns lookin’ at them (fuckin’ bitches). I make sure she’s in securely before I close the door and walk around the truck this time with no trouble at all, the bitches makin’ my dick go down.
Chapter Nineteen
Dove
I saw the three of them the second we got to the checkout, the looks they were giving me, I knew that they’d stop and talk to us. The looks they were giving Socket I knew one or all of them had slept with him, I mean who wouldn’t he’s gorgeous but I still felt uncomfortable.
“Hey Socket” one of them says
“Ladies” he says and I look at them instantly feeling inferior and not wanting to be nosy so I take a step back
“Are you heading back to the clubhouse?” the one that’s practically drooling at Socket says
“Yep, just as soon as we pay for this” I see the women’s face light up, the other two just stare daggers at me, I think Socket notices to because he moves to block them from me or maybe he’s just trying to hide me either way it pisses me off.
“Problem” Socket says I can’t see what they do so I try and block them out and turn and the cashier who’s smile looking as uncomfortable as I am
“Am I with you tonight Socket” she says and the cashiers face is priceless her mouth opening in shock and I almost roll my eyes but I just stand there
“Nope” he tells her and my inner me jumps up that this bitch isn’t getting a happy ending tonight from Socket anyway
“Then we’ll see you back at the clubhouse” she says and Socket turns staring at me but I just stand there looking at all of the groceries
“One-fifty-seven” the cashier says and Socket gets his wallet out handing her some money.
The drive to the clubhouse was quiet and when I turn to look at Socket his jaw is clenching, “So, what do you do for a living?” I ask him curious as to how he can afford all the things he bought tonight
“I’m a tattoo artist” he says and I look at him shocked not seeing any tattoos on him
“You don’t have any ink yourself?”
“I do” he tells me
“Where?” I ask curious
“On my body”
“How come you don’t have any on your arms?”
“Just don’t need to advertise my ink is all, you got any” he asks
“Well, seeing that tattoos cost money, then no I don’t have any”
“Maybe I’ll do you one for free” he says and I turn looking at him
“You’d do a free tattoo for me?” he nods as we pull up to the clubhouse
“I’d do a free tattoo for you, just tell me what ya want and I’ll draw it up”
“Anything I want?”
“Anything” he says and I smile
“I’ll think about it”
“Good, now wait for me” I watch as he gets out of the truck and walks around to my side opening my door
“Thanks” I tell him blushing.
We walk inside and I take Wiley from him when I see the girls all sitting out the side door and I make my way out there
“Hey” Niya says
“Hey”
“Are you ok?” she asks me and I nod
“I’m good”
“What the hell happened today?” Abbey asks and I look around and look at Niya but Abbey sighs and I look at her
“Don’t blame her, this place couldn’t hold a secret if your life depended on it, now what the hell happened?” I look around at them all and feel embarrassed to tell them about me falling off of the stage and taking a pain pill, I mean how responsible is that to drop a pill when you got a kid to look after
“Well last night at work, I sort of fell of the stage and” Abbey holds up her hand and I stop talking
“You fell off the stage during your act?�
�� I nod and she smiles biting her lip
“I got blinded by the stupid lights and misjudged the pole distance and well I fell off into the guys crotch it was so embarrassing” I tell them and I can see there all holding in a laugh
“Sorry, let me get this straight you fell off the stage into some guys dick” Abbey says and I nod as they all lose it laughing so loudly Wiley jumps and she starts crying
“Oh god sorry Niya says as Tink takes Wiley off of me still smiling” but Abbey, Zoey and Lena are still laughing
“Oh, come on it was embarrassing enough I don’t need you guys laughing at me as well” I tell them smiling trying to hold in my own laugh, but now that I think about how it must have looked. They all laugh again and I start and where all sitting there laughing so hard and it feels so good, I haven’t had this much fun in ages. Maggie gets up than comes back out with drinks on a tray
“Maggie, you know where breastfeeding” Niya says
“Just one it won’t kill you all.” I look at Lena who’s pregnant as she picks up a shot glass
“What, one won’t kill me” I smile as all the rest of the women pick up a glass and they all raise their glasses as Tink hands me a glass
“To falling off stages” Maggie says and they all smile looking at me Maggie giving me a wink and I shoot the shot back and cough the burn sliding down my throat like a river of fire
“Jesus christ, what the fuck is that?” I ask coughing as Tink pats me on the back
“Moonshine” Maggie says and I thump my chest as the burning feeling spreading throughout my body
“Fucking hell that’s some moonshine” I whisper and they all laugh again.
Chapter Twenty
Socket
As I sit at the bar I can see her outside with the other women all laughing “Hey Socket” Lila says and I give her a chin lift
