I let out a moan, too loud to hide from him. He chuckled, then returned to his intense gaze. “Take them off.”

“Yessir,” I answered, finally giving in and pulling them down with both hands, dropping the thin black fabric across the tops of my feet.

“Now, Kalila, I’m going to pump you full of everything I have.”

  Chapter 14

It’s easy to run, but more fun to stay.

Caleb climbed on top of me as I lay on the bed, feet hanging off the edge and legs opened for him. I was a woman possessed by lust, and there wasn’t going to be any stopping me now. My body accepted Caleb after what he had done to me in the massage room, and it craved much more than that now.

Caleb seemed to be larger and more muscular every time I saw him, taking up my entire vision and exposing me to pure masculinity. I inhaled his scent, reveling in every detail of his body as he loomed over me. I was pathetically drenched for him, sticky and hot between my legs for the man that had taken me from my home and changed my life completely.

I had forgotten about the guilt that I had previously felt for being attracted to him. All I could think about now is how much I wanted him inside of me. My body longed for him, and I was too weak not to give in to this mortal pleasure.

For the time being, I forgot that I was a cop. I forgot about how many people had perished under Caleb’s rule, and I even forgot that I wasn’t supposed to be in Italy with him. This was my moment to forget about everything bad that had happened and to finally give in to the pleasure that came with making love to a powerful mafia boss.

Caleb’s cock grazed my inner thigh, sending an instant chill over my entire body. Every cell in my body urged him to enter, but he took his time. This wasn’t the type of man to rush things. He, of all people, knew that timing was important.

“Your eyes are like diamonds, but more precious,” Caleb whispered as he looked down at me.

I was afraid to make eye contact with him, but I was drawn to his gaze anyway. My back arched as I looked into his soul, like he was sucking me toward him with his eyes alone. I felt his throbbing hot cock like fire on the inside of my thigh, and I shifted my hips to bring it to my pussy.

He chuckled and pulled away. “You’re desperate for me,” he mused.

  I didn’t answer.

“Do you want my cock, darling?” He asked, pulling away from me a little more.

I grabbed his bicep, digging my nails into his tattooed flesh. “Yes,” I growled, surprised at the intensity of my own voice.

  He smirked. “Sir.”

“Yes, sir,” I repeated, allowing him to correct me. I was submitting to him more and more as I spent time around him.

“That’s good. I’m going to give you my cock then,” Caleb said, softening his brow and moving back down to my hot body.

My pussy was crying for him to get inside already as he rubbed the head of his cock in the first layer of my sopping wet velvet flesh. I was so aroused that I felt like I would explode from this teasing. I wanted to grab his thick cock and shove it in already!

Caleb liked to be in control, but he also like to give me the illusion of control. That was his game here. He hovered over me for a moment longer before finally pushing inside of me, stretching me to the limit as he sunk in with his full weight.

I gasped as he penetrated deeper than I thought he could go. Surely, no man had ever reached that deep, or stretched me that wide. I wondered if I would ever be able to take another man after Caleb ruined me in the bedroom. I was close to climax with his first push, and we were only getting started.

My nails traced over the defined muscles in his back as he began to roll his hips, pushing me deep into the soft mattress. Pleasure built up fast in my body, rolling through me in thick waves of euphoria. Caleb’s stubble scratched at my neck as he kissed it, laying into me with more force.

I moved in unison with him, each thrust bringing more pleasure than the last. I enveloped his cock over and over, tugging him to completion so that he may spill his seed inside of me. I wanted it, a primal urge that I couldn’t contain any longer. It was time.

I experienced an orgasm as nearly the same time as Caleb did, the clenching of my pussy around his thick rod driving him over the edge and into a spasm that pumped cum inside of me. I accepted it all, throwing my legs up in the air and curling my toes, scratching his back and leaving deep red etched in his skin as my body exploded into the most intense orgasm that I could possibly have.

My skin radiated pure euphoria, glowing with the sexual climax that pulsed through my body. Every bone, every joint, every cell in my body danced in delight as my body was taken into a different world of satisfaction.

Caleb came inside of me while I climaxed, pumping hot milky white inside of me. I embraced him as he filled me, possessed by pleasure and wrought with delicious agony. My body greeted him with enthusiasm, refusing to shy away from his strong touch.

I heard him groan my name as he finished, then he collapsed on me in a pile of sated flesh. Earthly cravings had been satisfied, and now it was time for us to sleep.

Except, I wasn’t planning to sleep. As the reality of our actions dawned on me, I felt a pang of morbid guilt for what I had just done. A rush of reason flooded back into my body, and once Caleb had rolled off me, I sat up straight.

“I need to get some water,” I lied, pushing the covers away from my feet.

Caleb grunted, pulling the white sheet over his body. He was out like a light, but I still had all the energy in the world. It was as though what had been drained from him, had been given to me. I had power and clarity now.

My feet hit the carpet lightly, making almost no sounded as I floated over to the closet instead of the bathroom or the hallway. I clicked the light on, closing the door until I could see through the crack on the hinged side. Caleb hadn’t moved.

I snatched a dress from its hanger and pulled it over my head, searching for panties to wear with it. Thankfully, there were a few lingerie sets in the closet I could borrow from. I pulled a nice pair off and put them on under my dress, then I went for the gun.

It was right where I had left it, tucked away neatly in a pair of shoes. I scanned all the shoes in the closet, but they were all too fancy to run in. I would have to get out of here on foot. That would be the fastest way.

I liked Caleb. I really did, but this had gone way too far. I had to remember who I was and what I would have done in the United States had I gotten this close to Caleb with a weapon in my hand. I would have killed him, and now, I had that chance.

I looked at the gun in my hand. I was shaking already. I steadied myself, taking in a few deep breaths. This was the moment I had been waiting for since I joined the police force. I had to separate myself from my emotions just this once, and I would go down as a hero. I could do this. It was time.

  Chapter 15

Some people don’t even fear death.

I wasn’t sure if there was a bullet already in the chamber, but I slid the sucker back anyway, pulling it with robotic force, something ingrained in me at the police academy. I tried to be silent with it, but it was hard to cover the clack of the slide as it flew back into place on top of the gun, pushing a bullet into the chamber.

I was sure that Caleb was familiar with the sound, but through the dense wooden door with the sound muffling qualities of the dresses inside, I doubted that he had heard it. I peeked through the crack where the door met the hinges again to see if he had moved. His body laid in the same position as before, his breathing slow and steady now. He might even be asleep.

I took a deep breath, having to muster up more courage than usual to confront him with this gun. I was used to pointing guns at people. Hell, I had even shot at someone before, but I had never actually had to kill anyone. I didn’t have to kill Caleb, to be fair, but this whole thing had gone too far.

I wasn’t just a prisoner anymore. I was siding with the enemy, enjoying his body, making love to him, and actually beginning to dev
elop feelings toward him. The prospect of being his wife didn’t sound so shabby at this point. I would spend time sampling the finer things in life, instead of filing papers and eating takeout in a cop car for the rest of my days.

I didn’t want to think about it too much. I had done enough thinking to realize that what I was doing was flat out wrong. I needed to be the hero I thought I was and kill this man while I still had the chance. If this house really didn’t have guards like he claimed, and I was actually free to go, I would be able to get the hell out of here after I lodged enough led into his brain to turn him into a pencil.

I counted to five under my breath, stepping out with the gun behind my back when I reached the magic number. It was now or never. I couldn’t stay in the closet all night.

Caleb’s body lay under the white sheets, not moving save for slow, shallow breathes. He could have already been dead with the way that he looked, so peaceful and still. That would have made my job a lot easier. It wasn’t easy to put a bullet through the man you just made love to.

I couldn’t back down now. Not when I had him like this, without guards, without protection. He didn’t have a hidden blade or gun strapped to his side. He was naked, sleepy, and as vulnerable as a man could be. I felt almost guilty not even giving him a chance to fight back, but had I, there would be no way for me to defeat him.

I walked up to him and lifted the gun in trembling hands. I held it firmly with both, legs apart in a classic firing stance. The gun was aimed at his torso, the largest and least missable section of his body. Even at point-blank range, stress can make you miss an obvious target.

I let my sweaty finger drop down from the side of the gun to the trigger, sliding into place. This was it.

“Do you really want to kill me?” Caleb asked from beneath the sheets.

I almost fired the gun at the sound of his voice. How did he know? I steadied my trembling hands, keeping his body in my line of fire. “Yes, Caleb. Your plan is over. You chose the wrong cop to fuck with.”

He chuckled, remaining still. I would have shot him had he moved. “I guess you should just kill me then. I’m not going to find another woman as perfect as you are.”

“You want to die?” I asked, shaking the gun at him.

“I don’t seem to have a choice,” Caleb answered calmly.

“That’s right,” I said, trying to feel empowered by that. The only thing I felt was guilt. I was pointing a gun at a monster, but it felt more like I was about to kill an innocent man.

“Pull the trigger, Kalila. Do it. I’m tired of this mafia life anyway. I’m ready to retire.”

“Are there guards outside? Is anyone going to stop me if I kill you?” I challenged, part of me hoping that he would say yes. I wouldn’t kill him if it resulted in my own death.

“No, Kalila. I’ve been truthful with you,” he answered from under the blanket. “But you’ve had a hell of a time believing what you want to believe. I don’t know what that police academy put into your sweet little head, but I assure you, they’re just as crooked as I am, perhaps even more so.”

“Don’t lie to me, Caleb,” I snapped. “You want me to believe that you let me gain access to a gun, you have no bodyguards, and you’re the biggest mafia boss in the country?”

“Not this country. I didn’t think I needed protection from the woman I love,” Caleb answered, just as calm as before.

“You don’t love me, Caleb. You want to use me to get your father’s estate,” I argued.

“I’m trying to give up the mafia life for something more respectable, and you come in here waving a gun at me. Nice try, Kalila, but you’re going to have to find a better argument than that to justify killing me in cold blood,” he replied, an edge of irritation in his voice.

“I have plenty of reasons to kill you,” I said, but the gun moved down an inch.

  “Name three.”

“I don’t need to name my fucking reasons, Caleb.”

“Because you don’t have any,” he replied, sounding smug.

“I’m going to kill you,” I said, raising the gun back up to my target and placing my finger tighter on the trigger.

  “Okay.”

I hesitated. Killing a man in his bed, in cold blood, who apparently wasn’t even a criminal in Italy wasn’t going to help me get home. If he was right, and the police department was dependent on his operation to stay funded, what good was I doing putting a bullet in him now?

I groaned. “Stay where you are,” I demanded, even though he hadn’t moved an inch since I put the gun on him.

“I’ll give you time to aim. Don’t worry,” he said, sounding amused.

I backed up, keeping my sights on him until I was out of the door and halfway down the hall. Then, I ran.

My feet thumped against the soft white carpet as I booked it out of the room, heading straight for the front door. I prayed that there was no security to stop me. Even if I hadn’t had the guts to kill Caleb, I still had my survival instincts. I would shoot anyone who stood in the way of escape.

I turned the corner, the butler casually sweeping the hall in front of the front door. I waved the gun at him, and he stepped aside like this was something that happened every day. His face never changed expressions.

I scrambled with the large bolt on the door, slamming it to the side and flinging open the door. I looked outside but didn’t see Caleb’s car. Fuck, I needed something to escape in. I turned back, jumping back into the house and pointing the gun at the butler. “Where is the car?” I shrieked, shaking the gun at him.

He frowned, puzzled by the language I was using.

Fuck, he didn’t speak English. I took a deep breath, searching my brain for some Italian that might have stuck in the few days I had been here. I had nothing. Okay, Spanish, maybe? They were both Latin languages.

“Carro,” I said, rolling my R’s.

The old man pointed back down the hall.

“Thanks,” I breathed, racing back down the hallway into the house. I wasn’t entirely sure where the garage was, but I hoped that it was in the back of the house. The butler seemed to know what I wanted.

My eyes were wide with adrenaline as I raced through the house, taking an alternative route through a few rooms to avoid Caleb if he had come out of the bedroom. I didn’t hear him, but I wasn’t going to hear much over the sound of my own heart pumping blood through my body.

It felt like an hour before I found my way out of the house, but in reality, it was less than a minute. Time is an awfully strange thing when you’re moving through the slow motion syrup of adrenaline. It crawls while you run.

I looked around as I burst out the back door of the mansion. There was a pool with a few chairs beside it. Nothing useful. I ran around it, jumping over the railing that separated it from the yard and circled around the house, eyes peeled for the garage.

I found it but realized as I was smashing in the side window that I didn’t have a key for the car I intended to steal. I hoped that Caleb was rich enough not to keep his keys in his pocket, instead, storing them with the car. It’s not like anyone was going to sneak into such a well-fortified property anyway. The iron gate towered at over fifteen feet, surrounding the perimeter.

I prayed that there would be keys somewhere in the garage. The place was huge, and probably loaded with all kinds of exotic cars. There had to be something I could drive out of here.

I climbed through the broken glass window, cutting the palms of my hands against the jagged glass that remained on the border. I winced as the shards sunk into my flesh, but nothing was going to stop me from getting away. I had already pushed my luck by not killing Caleb. I had to leave, or I might be the one who ended up as a corpse.

I tumbled onto the cold concrete floor of the garage. There were no lights on, so I couldn’t see a damn thing. It was already too dark out for the sun to be of any help. I needed to find a light switch, and fast.

I pinned myself to the wall, rapidly skirting against it until my bac
k hit a switch. I slammed my hand against it, clicking the light on. It took a second for the bulbs in the room to flicker on, but once they did, the entire garage became visible to me.

There were at least twenty cars in there, stretching back further than I thought the garage extended. I scanned the rows of vehicles for a second before I looked for the keys. Everything there was expensive, but only a few looked like they had a chance to survive a crash through the iron gate blocking the entrance to the property.

I spotted a rack of keys beside the door. I dashed to it, breathing heavily as blood dripped from my hands and stained the concrete below. I grabbed the first one that I reached, pulling it from the hook and jingling it into position in my slippery hand. I mashed the buttons on it, watching the rows of cars for flashing lights.

I heard a beep and spotted a car a few rows down. It was a large SUV, perfect for a getaway. I would feel safe in a large vehicle like that, and I assumed it would also be easier to drive. Expensive sports cars usually came in manual, something I wasn’t well versed in.

I clicked the buttons on the keys a few more times as I ran toward it, making sure the door was unlocked before I reached it. I wasn’t sure what kind of security system this place had, but I wasn’t going to test my luck by setting off a car alarm.

I slammed into the car, my bloody hands sliding across the glossy black paint. I found the handle, and flung the door open, hopping into the quiet leather interior. I would have liked to own a car like this, but for now, all I could do was joy ride it.

I slammed the keys into the ignition and turned them with nearly enough force to snap the metal from the black plastic that held the key in place. The SUV roared to life. I remembered to buckle myself in. I could be crashing this hunk of metal, and I didn’t want to come in contact with another pane of glass. My hands were bad enough as it were.

I pushed the shifter into drive and slammed my foot onto the petal, spinning the wheel all the way to the left to avoid hitting another car as I pulled out. I didn’t bother searching for a way to open the garage door. I sized it up, figuring it wasn’t going to give me much resistance, and drove toward it.
