  “Name please?”

Kathleen raised her eyebrow at the greeter, looking around the fine restaurant as she took it all in.

“Umm, Kathleen, but I think the reservation would be under Robert.”

“Oh, yes I see you’re right here” the waiter said, putting his finger on a name on the list he was looking at. “It appears that you are the first person of your party to arrive, let me show you to your table.”

Robert frowned as she followed the greeter, she had ensured that she was fashionably late as always, and couldn’t believe that Robert wasn’t there yet to appreciate it.

She sat down, ordering a glass of wine to start as she perused the menu. A few moment after the wine had been ordered, Robert arrived, looking surprisingly dapper in a suit.

“You look absolutely stunning.” Robert said, taking a moment to stand back and take in Kathleen with her long, dark hair and form fitting, low cut red dress. “Wow, stunning.”

  She smiled pleasantly, “Thank you.”

He sat down, smiling as the waiter came by and poured him a glass of water, asking if he wanted something else to drink which he declined.

“Sorry I’m late” he added, smirking just a bit to signal that he wasn’t sorry at all.

Her eyes widened, “Oh my gosh, you did that on purpose!”

He chuckled, “Guilty as charged. You’re always ‘fashionably late’ so I decided to be even more fashionable.”

  “You’re terrible” Kathleen pouted.

“Just a little taste of your own medicine” he grinned, “I wanted to make an entrance.”

“You certainly did” Kathleen said, looking him up and down. “You look great.”

“Why thank you” Robert said, doing a half bow in his seat. “I think you’ve given me the confidence boost that I needed.”

“You need a confidence boost?” Kathleen snorted, “No offense, but I always took you to be a little bit cocky.”

“Cocky huh?” Robert smirked, “Well, there goes the boost.”

“What do you need confidence for anyways?” Kathleen asked, tilting her head to the side.

Robert smiled, scooting a bit closer so that he was sitting next to her in the circular booth. “Well, I’m at a fancy dinner with a pretty woman and, I was planning on, I don’t know, making a move.”

“Making a move?” Kathleen asked, raising an eyebrow.

  “Yep.”

“What sort of move?” she asked.

“Well” Robert said, taking a deep breath “I was thinking, this sort of move” he said, bringing a hand up to gently tilt her head up as he softly placed his lips on hers. She exhaled into the kiss, a small smile coming to her mouth as she moved her lips against his, pressing back gently.

They gently separated, heads still close as Kathleen grinned at him. “I’d say that you didn’t need any confidence boost.”

He smiled, “So was it a reciprocal move?”

“It was” she smiled, “just a bit surprising.”

“Surprising, really? As my beta says, I tend to be painfully obvious.”

Kathleen’s grin widened, “Well, as my pack member’s say, I have a tendency to be painfully oblivious when it comes to things like this so. . . “

They both laughed, falling in to a comfortable silence as they continued to look at one another.

“I have a bit of a proposal to make actually.” Robert said, hand tapping a bit nervously on his leg before settled it after taking a deep breath.

“A proposal?” Kathleen laughed, “You really want to marry me, this soon out of the gate?”

Robert snorted, “Not exactly. I’d, like to date you though, and I’d like to propose a bit of a courtship. The dynamics might be a little tricky since we’re both Alphas, but, I want to try.”

Kathleen fiddled with the stem of her glass, eyes never leaving Robert’s as she took him in. “I would like that, a lot actually” she smiled, moving a stray strand of hair behind her ear nervously. “I’d like that.”

  Robert smiled broadly “Seriously?”

She laughed, a free laugh that made her feel giddier than she had in a while. She leaned in and kissed him once more, keeping their foreheads together as they parted. “Seriously.”

  Chapter 6

“Make way, the bride’s coming through!”

Kathleen rolled her eyes at Natasha’s exclamation, blushing a bit under her veil as she began her walk down the silk placed aisle on the border between her and Robert’s territory.

It had been a year and a half since Robert had first asked to court her in an upscale restaurant in town, and now, she could hardly believe that she was now walking down the aisle with her pack to the right, and Robert’s to the left, to marry the man.

Dating Robert had been a whirlwind of ups and downs, fights and makeups, and most of all fun. She smiled as her eyes quickly sought out Robert at the end of the aisle. One thing everyone around her could agree on was that, since Robert had become a strong, permanent fixture in her life, she had certainly been happier. She grinned, a year and a half ago, she could never have imagined that she could love someone as much as her husband to be.

Finally, the music played by a violinist in Robert’s pack stopped and she came to stand in front of the man she loved.

He grinned, a smile so wide it must have been painful to maintain for much longer as he took Kathleen’s hand that was free of the bouquet of wildflowers Brian had picked for her wedding that morning. Robert squeezed her hand, a gesture of happiness and reassurance at Kathleen’s obvious anxiety as the minister they hired began speaking.

Kathleen could barely hear his words, all of her attention totally riveted to the man in front of her as he ran his thumb along the back of her hand.

She nearly jumped in surprise as Robert lifted her hand suddenly, a small chuckle escaping him as he saw her wide eyes.

“It’s just a ring” he whispered, slipping he gold band with three diamonds centered on it onto her ring finger.

She laughed at her own jumpiness, nodding as the minister instructed her to put the simple, gold band she held on Robert’s finger.

After a few more words and the beginning of impatience settling in on Kathleen, the minister finally declared Kathleen could kiss the bride and, before he could even move, Kathleen was on him like a flash, arms winding around his neck and pulling him in for a long, and heavy kiss.

They received several wolf whistles from the audience before they finally broke apart, Robert lifting a squealing Kathleen off of her feet and carrying her down the aisle, much to her surprised delight.

“Have fun tonight!” Natasha called after them as Robert began running across his territory to get to his waiting car to take them off to their honeymoon.

“I will!” Kathleen winked, arms tightening around Robert as her eyes glinted with excitement. They had rented the honeymoon suite at a lavish hotel for a week a half hours’ drive away, and both the bride and groom were eager to get there for some much needed alone time.

“We’ll be consummating all night!” Robert yelled back, earning a playful smack on his shoulder from Kathleen as he picked up the pace.

Robert chuckled, slowing his sprint to a jog as they approached his back Cadillac parked in his driveway.

With a grunt of effort he very clumsily managed to open the passenger side door with Kathleen still in his arms and ever so gently deposit her into the seat. After making sure that her dress wouldn’t get caught in the door, he closed the door and ran around to the driver’s side, getting in and hastily buckling up before he started the engine.

“A bit excited are we?” Kathleen teased, to which Robert jokingly rolled his eyes.

“I’m sorry, I just married the most beautiful woman in the world, and now I get to go on a private, intimate honeymoon with her for a week. If you were in my position, wouldn’t you be?”

“The most beautiful woman in the world?”

Robert nodded, “Most definitely. I’d say un
iverse, but, I’m not sure there isn’t some ridiculously hot blue alien woman out there somewhere.”

“You’re ridiculous, you know that?” Kathleen laughed, kicking her feet up onto the dashboard.

“I know” he smiled, “but for some reason, you love me so, it’s all good.”

“Indeed” Kathleen said, leaning over to give him a loud kiss on the cheek. “Now hurry up and drive, we’ve got some consummating to do.”

  Chapter 7

“Oh. My. God.” Kathleen breathed out as Robert carried her through the doorway of their suite and she took it all it.

It was by far the nicest hotel room that Kathleen had ever seen. It was huge, with lavish accents and colors everywhere. The bed was humungous and at the center of the room, and on the counter was a gold bucket with a bottle of likely very expensive champagne chilling on ice.

“Do you like it?” Robert asked, gently setting Kathleen down on the ground.

“Like it” Kathleen said excitedly, running around the room and looking at everything. “Oh my God!” she said, peaking her head into the bathroom, “This tub is practically a swimming pool.”

“We can explore that later babe but right now, I think the main attraction is really the bed.”

“Oh really?” Kathleen asked, skipping over to Robert and leaning up on her tip toes to kiss him.

“Yes really” Robert said, bringing his hands down to playfully squeeze her backside.

“I think we should explore that then” Kathleen murmured, kissing him again. She turned around, lifting her hair over her shoulder. “Unzip me please.”

“With pleasure” Robert smirked, slowly unzipping her dress and helping to slide it down her svelte body. “Wow” he murmured as Kathleen turned around, smirking at him playfully as he took in her form.

She wore a white, lace bra with matching panties that both enhanced her natural curves.

  “You like what you see?”

“Do I ever” Robert growled, picking her up and walking her over to the bed before gently tossing her on to it. “God you’re beautiful” he said, looking at her as she laid on the bed, her hair haloed out around her and her chest rising and falling gently.

“And you’re a bit overdressed” Kathleen said, hooking a foot behind his knee and bringing him to a kneeling position on the bed between her legs.

“Agreed” Robert said shakily, hastily untying his tie and throwing it somewhere on the other side of the bed, quickly followed by his suit jacket and dress shirt that was now missing three buttons. “Damn it” he muttered, fiddling with his belt.

“Here, let me” Kathleen chuckled, unbuckling his belt with deft hands and then moving on to the button of his pants before teasingly slipping his hands down the front of them quickly.

“Don’t stop” Robert whined as she removed her hand, instead helping him shimmy out of his pants and boxer briefs.

“Oh we’re just getting started” Kathleen purred, looping her arms around his neck and pulling him in for a smoldering kiss.

He groaned into the contact, hand coming down to caress the small of her back, just above the curve of her buttocks pushing their bodies closer together. Kathleen moaned, arching her back as one of Robert’s hands found its way between her thighs as the other worked to undo the clasp of her bra. Finally, it was undone and Kathleen sighed in relief as it too was tossed over the side of the bed.

“I love you” Robert moaned, trailing a string of kisses down the column of her neck.

“Mmm, and I love you too” Kathleen moaned, pushing her hips against Robert’s. “But enough talk, let’s get some action going here.”

“Action hmm?” Robert chuckled, “What about foreplay?”

“That’s for day two” Kathleen said breathlessly, arching up against him. “Now come on” she urged.

“Your wish is my command m’lady” Robert smirked, earning a playful glare from Kathleen that was quickly cut off as he entered her.

Kathleen groaned, nails digging in to Robert’s back. Robert grunted in response, taking a deep breath to steady himself as he buried his face in Kathleen’s neck, eyes rolling back in his head for a moment.

Their bodies moved together as if they were a single unit, their limbs entangling in a mess of sweaty limbs, breathy moans and heavy grunts filling the air. The time stretched on as they got closer and closer to the edge, backs arching and hips thrusting and hands gripping in a blur of passion.

Lips came together forcefully with a slight clacking of teeth and words were muffled by the sensations. Kathleen’s nails dug into the back of Robert’s biceps and Robert clung to her as if for dear life. A moment later they toppled over the edge of ecstasy, cries filling the air as they both fell limply back onto the bed.

“You’ve gotten better” Kathleen said breathlessly, chest rising and falling with her heavy breath.

  “I’ve been reading”

“Well, well done student.” Kathleen said, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek softly.

Robert reached down to entwine their fingers together. “I love you, so much.”

Kathleen smiled, laying her head on his shoulder as their legs tangled together under the sheets. “I love you too.” She said, squeezing his hand back. They lay there in silence for several moments, occasionally kissing and cuddling in to one another.

Kathleen smiled, eyes closing for a brief respite as she kissed Robert’s neck. She listened to the sound of his heart beating in his chest, soothed by the calming lullaby. She laughed softly to herself, disbelieving that this was really her life. That she was happy, safe and finally, with a person she loved.

  The end…

  Big Bad Alpha Boss Mate

  By

  Michael Reyes

  Chapter 1

“Andrew, man, please don’t hit me for saying this, but the pack has talked about it, and it needs to be said.”

Andrew cocked his head, looking at his Beta, Leo, curiously. Standing at six feet and four inches, with biceps that only two very large hands could even come close to wrapping around, nobody had ever had the desire to give him much trouble. And, being the Alpha of one of the larger packs in the Maryland region, Andrew typically received a lot of respect.

He leaned back in his seat at the kitchen table, green eyes scanning the nervous looking wolf in front of him before he finally spoke.

“I’m not quite sure how I feel like my pack colluding without me, and,” he said, speaking a little louder, “to everyone listening on the stairs, we will discuss this later, now scram.”

Andrew waited a moment as he heard the thumping of feet as about five of the bolder wolves in his pack who had been eavesdropping scrambled up the stairs to give them some privacy.

“However, I’ll listen, of course. What is it that you have to say?”

Leo looked at him wearily, running a hand through his bright red hair before he sighed. “Do you promise you won’t hit me?”

  “I promise.”

Leo sighed in relief, visibly relaxing.

Andrew smirked. “I can’t, however, ensure that I won’t harm you some other way.”

Leo swallowed, nodding. “Right, well, keep in mind that I’d like to be buried as close as possible to Yankee Stadium and have Life is a Highway play during my funeral.”

Andrew rolled his eyes, tapping his fingers impatiently on the table. “Come out with it already.”

“Alright,” Leo said, nodding. “Don’t take this the wrong way man, but, we think you need a mate.”

Andrew blinked. He had been prepared for a number of things that could have come out of Leo’s mouth, but him needing a mate had not been one of them.

“Hmm,” Andrew said, drawing the sound out slowly as he carefully considered each word. Finally, he just decided on a simple question. “Why?”

“Okay, okay,” Leo said, scrambling for his phone in his pocket while glancing up at Andrew. “I prepared for this. The pack compiled a list, and I will read it to you now,” he said, c
learing his throat. “Okay, are you ready?”

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Andrew deadpanned, growing inpatient.

Leo swallowed nervously, clearing his throat once more before his eyes darted back down to the phone in his hand.

“Well, Zoey says that she wants another woman in the pack so it can finally have an equal number of men and women. Most of the other girls say they want another man to increase the scenery around here, but Danna says she fears that you’re lonely and Abbie thinks that it’d be fun to plan your wedding.”

Andrew cocked a deep eyebrow, and Leo scrolled down the list, trying to find some more compelling reasons.

“Alright, umm, Jared says that he’d rather hear you having sex than masturbating so frequently since you share a wall, and Harley says that he’s tired of being the new guy.”

Andrew’s brows furrowed; honestly, he had thought he’d been much quieter than that, and he wondered if James had really continued to haze Harley after three years in the pack.

“Anything else?” Andrew sighed, ready to leave.

“Well,” Leo said, licking his lips, “You’re not getting any younger man, and it’s a bit odd when an Alpha doesn’t have a mate; it appears to the other packs that he’s not grounded or something. And, most importantly, we want you to have someone. Last Valentine’s Day you sat in your room eating Oreos and watching reruns of Friends. I even saw a few tears slip out. Face it, you’re lonely; it’s time for you to play the field and get out there.”

Andrew sighed, nodding and standing up. “Well,” he said, “out of that list I heard maybe three good reasons, and that was making the pack more equal, Harley is tired of being hazed, and our standing with other packs. Tell Jared he can suck it up or buy earplugs, Abbie that if I get married it won’t be big so there will be nothing to plan, and the other girls to go speed dating or something. As for now, I’ve heard everything and will take it into consideration. Thank you for talking to me; I know this is the last thing that you want to be doing right now so I appreciate it. You’re a good Beta, Leo. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go into town and inquire about soundproofing the house.”
