I was the president of the company, and I was the first author published. Funny how it worked out that way.
It was late 2016 before we had additional authors join me for publishing. Now we have a few dozen authors, a few hundred audiobooks by LMBPN published, a few hundred more licensed by six audio companies, and about a thousand titles in our company.
It’s been a busy five years.
What am I up to?
So, I’m presently in a restaurant called Scrambled in Henderson, NV. This is the first time I have tried the place, and the vibe is FANTASTIC.
In one week, the governor of Nevada is going to cut the number of people who can eat here by 50% (from 50% to 25% capacity.)
This will gut them financially. The owner was obvious to pick out (and since I was eating at the bar, it was easy to ask her questions), so I asked how the new expectations from the governor were going to affect their business.
It was rather heartbreaking.
I have no idea how I can help businesses like this survive when we are looking at hospitals overflowing, etc.
For me, the ability to get out and eat at a restaurant helps me emotionally. Yes, the food is nourishing, but being around people (even fairly far away from them) still helps. I am not the type of person who does well with no human interaction. I don’t need much, but the first COVID ripped me up pretty well and families who suffered even worse.
There are no good answers.
Stay tough, everyone. Chins up, help someone who needs it, or put a hand up at an appropriate time and let others know if you are flagging.
There IS light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s find a way to make this second wave of @#%@#% covid easier than the first.
Now, I’m going to go take my own advice and brighten a stranger’s day.

Since I met him, I have seen him perform SO many acts of kindness for total strangers, fellow authors, and anyone who just needs help that I can’t even count them. He is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet, and way up there in medal position in the best human being Olympics. So glad to have met this man!)
