Loving Pierce (Heart & Soul Series Book 4) Page 6

by Elizabeth Lennox

“When she did the boob-brush!” she blurted, her body shivering in anticipation. She reached to take his hands and guide them where she needed them, but he quickly pulled them away.

“Don’t touch or I’ll stop, Kaitlin,” he warned. “Put your hands back down on the massage table.”

Her eyes popped open and she stared up at him, startled by the authority in his voice. And so turned on, she could barely think! She moved her hands back to the massage table, gripping the sides so she wouldn’t lift them again.

“Excellent,” Pierce soothed, his fingers floating back and forth over her stomach. “Now where were we?”

“You were about to tell me that you’d never let another woman’s breast brush up against your arm again,” she asserted firmly, gazing up at him with lust-filled eyes.

  “I was?”

“Yes! Because I don’t like it when another woman does that to you!”

“You do it all the time to me, my dear. I’d been under the impression that you didn’t know what you were doing.” His fingers traced along her thighs, not touching her where she needed him to touch her, but just letting his fingers drift back and forth over her skin, teasing. “Are you telling me that you do that on purpose?”

Uh oh! Busted! Arching her back, she groaned. “Can we have this conversation later?”

“I think this is the perfect time to have this conversation. Spread your legs for me.”

She lifted her legs, bracing them as far apart as the massage table would allow.

“Pretty,” he replied, looking at that glistening nub between her legs. “One of my favorite views.” His fingers teased her inner thighs, but wouldn’t move any closer, even when she lifted her hips, offering herself to him. “So tell me, when you brush your breast against my arm, you know what you’re doing? You understand that I’m distracted and turned on?”

“Yes,” she whispered, then bit her lip when one of his fingers slid into her heat. “Yes!” she groaned, but this time, she wasn’t answering a question.

  “And you enjoy distracting me?”

  “Yes!”

As a reward for her honesty, his thumb flicked lightly against the throbbing nub, back and forth, teasing her. But he knew her body too well. He realized that she was too close to the edge, her body primed for a climax so he pulled back and she almost sobbed with frustration.

“Why did you run earlier today? Why didn’t you just come talk to me and tell me that you didn’t like that woman on my arm?”

“Because I was jealous!” she cried out. “I was angry and jealous that another woman was touching you!”

Pierce looked down at Kaitlin, her body so tight, so ready for a release that she was stunning! He loved bringing her to this place, seeing her strung out because of the way he touched her. She was so damn responsive! So open and amazingly sensitive! And her skin was like silk. He could touch her all day long and be a happy man.

And her words soothed something inside of him. More than anything she’d said to him before, seeing her like this, hearing her admit that she was jealous, that convinced him that they…well, perhaps she wasn’t going to stop loving him. And that…that was what he needed to hear.

“You’re beautiful, Kaitlin.” He began to caress her in earnest, watching as her hips rolled, showing him how close she was. “And you’re the only woman I want touching me.” Closer and closer, she was balanced on the edge. “If you’d arrived seconds later, you would have seen me reprimanding her.” Her eyes popped open with that statement and he caught and held her gaze, willing Kaitlin to see the sincerity in his eyes. “Only you, honey.” With those words, he felt the first ripples and pressed slightly harder, taking her over the edge. Her eyes closed, her body arched, and her hands released the grip on the massage table, both of them covering his own hand, keeping it in place and directing his touch. Harder at first, faster and then…slower before easing up as the orgasm slowed.

When her eyes fluttered open once again, he was still looking at her, touching her but his hands rubbed the area higher up, causing yet another, smaller, ripple to rock through her.

  “Thank you!” she whispered.

Pierce wasn’t sure if she was thanking him for the orgasm or for the truth, nor did he care. He was aching for her now. But he wasn’t going to finish this here. “Get dressed,” he ordered. “Quickly.”

He pulled her up so that she was sitting, holding her in place while she steadied herself. He watched as she glanced lower, then the small, knowing smile forming when she noticed the predicament he was in.

“Want me to take care of that? It might be embarrassing to walk through the hallways like that.”

He groaned, wanting nothing more than to pull her to the edge of that damn table and sink into the heat of her body. But he had other plans. And he’d already made love to her fast and furiously once today. This time, he wanted it slow and easy. He wanted to enjoy every nuance of their time together.

“I don’t care. Get dressed and you can take care of me back in my suite.”

With a giggle, she jumped off of the massage table and, oddly, grabbed the sheet to cover herself as she walked back behind the screen.

“So you’re back to being shy about your body?” he teased, remembering how long it had taken to get her to walk naked around him. About two months, he thought, relishing the idea of getting her back to that kind of confidence again.

She pulled the robe over herself, dropping the sheet, then turned to face him. “My clothes are in the locker room. I need to…”

He shook his head and grabbed her hand. “Nope. You’ll have to get your clothes later.” With that, he pulled her towards the door. Kaitlin grabbed one of the heated bottles of oil as she followed him. “Think Hans would mind if I took this?” she asked, her eyes sparkling.

Pierce groaned, but shook his head. “It’s all owned by the resort. And since I own the resort…” he trailed off, winking at her as he gently tugged her hand.

She giggled as she hurried along beside him, pressing her face against the muscles of his arm. She didn’t see the staff members as they worked their way through the hallways of the resort, but Kaitlin suspected that they were around somewhere. She didn’t care either! She just wanted to be with Pierce.

As soon as they stepped through the doors of his suite, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her. When he lifted his head, she was breathless and, apparently, he’d lifted her up, pressing her back against the wall and pulling her legs higher so that they were wrapped around his waist.

“Tell me,” he urged, his hands sliding along her bare bottom.

“Tell you what?” she gasped, closing her eyes as she felt his fingers slide into her body once again.

“Tell me!” he demanded more urgently.

Kaitlin had no idea what he wanted to hear, so she said the only words she could think of. “I love you!”

That must have been what he wanted, because he pulled her away from the wall, carrying her over to the large bed. When he laid her down, she sighed with happiness. The day had been such an emotional roller coaster, the ups and downs seeming to be endless. But this “high”, the sure knowledge that Pierce was going to make her body sing, and that she loved him completely, was the best feeling in the world.

The only thing that could make this better would be if he said the words back to her.

She watched as he stood up and stripped off his clothes. The exercise shirt and shorts were tossed to the floor. In order to speed up the process, Kaitlin slowly spread her legs, revealing that part of her that was normally hidden. He froze, zeroing in on that secret space between her legs.

“Kaitlin,” he groaned, coming back to her, his hips pressing her legs wider to make room for him. “You have no idea what you do to me, do you?”

She smiled, but his mouth covered hers as he kissed her, his tongue foreshadowing the mating dance that she wanted to experience so badly.

When he started to move down to her breasts, Kaitlin
knew what would happen. But she had other plans. “No way, big guy,” she laughed and pushed against his shoulders. Thankfully, he allowed her to press him back against the mattress and she swung a leg over him, straddling his stomach. Looking around, she spotted the bottle of massage oil next to them on the bed and leaned forward to grab it. Since her breasts shifted as well, almost touching his face, he simply pressed his hands against her back, holding her in place while he teased and tortured her nipples. Kaitlin gasped and tried to slither away, but his hands were strong and she…well, she wanted that too!

But it was too much and, thankfully, Pierce knew that she could only take so much stimulation before it became uncomfortable. He released her and she beamed as she sat up again, surveying his muscular chest. “Now it’s my turn,” she announced. With a laugh, she squeezed a bit of oil onto his chest and shoulders, then set it aside on the night table. Her fingers were strong from hours of typing, so pressing into his muscles was a delight! She also loved the way his eyes closed, his erection throbbing against her bottom. This was what she loved, Kaitlin thought. Touching him, feeling his response under her fingers. It was so erotic to feel him react to her touch that she wanted to keep doing it forever.

Moving lower, she didn’t massage his stomach, but moved even lower, although she paused to place a kiss on his stomach. Then giggled when she skipped over the good part, just as he’d done to her earlier today. Instead, she poured a bit more oil onto his thighs, feeling them tighten under her fingertips. “Relax,” she soothed, running her fingers up and down along his thighs, coming closer and closer to his erection, but moving quickly away.

She knew that he was nearing the point of frustration when he started to growl; Kaitlin loved that sound! But she wasn’t finished! When she felt his muscles tightening again, a precursor to him changing places with her, she quickly lowered her head, wrapping her lips around his shaft and taking as much of it as she could into her mouth.

He froze, groaning with pleasure as his fingers slid into her hair, tangling in her tresses as she explored his aching shaft, her tongue flicking against that sensitive spot just under the tip. Over and over again, hearing him groan with her ministrations.

Unfortunately, he only allowed her to work her magic for a few moments. Grapping her arms, he deftly changed their positions and entered her, filling her up while absorbing her gasps into his mouth. When her body adjusted to his invasion, he started the age-old rhythm, shifting in and out of her body, his hips grinding against hers for maximum pleasure. Higher and higher, their bodies knew how to pleasure each other and before long she was screaming, her body throbbing with release.

Thankfully, Pierce quickly followed and they held each other tightly as the shivers intensified…then slowly, gently abated.

A long time later, when she could breathe once again, she curled up in his arms, snuggling against his side as she laid her head against his chest. With one hand on his stomach, she let her fingers drift up and down against his skin, enjoying the strong, steady beat of his heart. “I love you, Pierce,” she murmured and smiled as his arms tightened around her. It wasn’t a declaration of his love, but he wasn’t pushing her away either.

With a sad smile, she fell asleep in his arms. Just like the previous night, because Pierce was holding her, she didn’t dream of monsters or criminals. She dreamt of babies and growing old with the man she loved.

  Chapter 8

“He’s going to leave me!” she whispered to her image in the mirror. “He doesn’t know how to love and he’s going to leave me again!”

Kaitlin closed her eyes, trying to stop the heartbreak. They’d been together for five days and their time together had been blissful. She’d even kinda, sorta learned to enjoy some of the exercise classes. Weight lifting was fun, but only because Pierce stood next to her and showed her how to use the machines. She’d ditched the spin class because, well, seriously, who wanted to sweat that much? The morning hikes were good, but mostly because she did them with Pierce, holding his hand. It was just the two of them enjoying the woods at a leisurely pace. Of course, Pierce would go off for a run through the woods at some point during the day. Usually when she was relaxing in the salt rooms or sipping a cup of coffee before breakfast.

But she hadn’t given up her suite, nor had he asked her to move into his suite with him. And that hurt! They spent every night together, but in the morning, he went back to his suite to get ready for the day, even though he made love to her throughout the night, demanding that she say the words. He wouldn’t relent until she told him that she loved him.

So what was wrong? Why did he need to hear her say that to him, and still not believe her?

He was such a complicated man in some ways, and so simple in other ways.

And she was losing him. Today was her last day at the resort, her last day in his arms.

Setting her cup of coffee down, she made a decision. Grabbing clothes, she pulled on a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt. Normal clothes, she thought with grim satisfaction.

Picking up her phone, she flipped through the information she’d pulled up before embarking on this adventure into exercise hell, and found exactly what she was looking for. “Bingo!”

Grabbing her purse, which had been abandoned during the week since she didn’t need it for anything around the resort, and walked out of her suite. Once in the hallway, she glanced toward Pierce’s room, and headed for the lobby.

Pulling her phone out of her purse, she texted him, letting him know that she had something to do. And with that, she walked to the front desk. “What’s the name of a local cab company?” she asked of the receptionist.

The woman smiled politely. “There’s only one cab in this small town, but Jeff is standing by with the shuttle bus and can take you anywhere you need to go. Or I can arrange for anything to be delivered to you. How can I help?”

Kaitlin savored the moment, looking at the woman’s eyes. “I need to go to Dilligan’s,” she announced. The woman’s eyes widened in horror, but she recovered quickly. “Absolutely! Give me a moment and I’ll text Jeff so that he can drive you there.” She hesitated a moment, then leaned forward. “You know that they fry their foods there, right?” she explained in a whisper, as if saying the word “fry” was akin to being a Satan worshiper.

Kaitlin leaned towards the woman and, in the same tone, replied, “I certainly hope so!”

With that, she turned on her heel and walked to the front of the resort. Sure enough, a buff and cheerful guy with a name tag identifying him as “Jeff” pulled up with the huge resort shuttle bus. “Where would you like to go today?” he asked.

“There’s a small diner called Dilligan’s about two miles away. I want to go there.” Kaitlin braced herself for another horror-filled look. But Jeff’s grin widened and he nodded. “Excellent! Come on in. We’ll be there in less than ten minutes.”

Kaitlin slipped into a passenger seat, sighing with relief and anticipation. Her mouth watered at the hope of something fried and greasy and covered with cheese! She hadn’t had cheese for too long! A body should never go without grease and cheese for more than a day or two, in her humble opinion.

Jeff chattered about…something…as he drove along the rural, mountain roads, but Kaitlin was thinking, trying to figure out her next move. Yes, Pierce had never known true love, so he didn’t know how to accept it. And yes, she suspected that he was in love with her, but because of his lack of understanding of love, he didn’t know that he loved her.

Were the two of them in an unrealistic bubble? Was he going to head on back to his life and go on as if this wonderful week had never happened?

She couldn’t stand for that to happen! Now that she understood him more, Kaitlin was desperate to help him understand, to help him find happiness. And just as importantly, she selfishly didn’t want to lose him. She loved him so much! And that love had only intensified this week after meeting his father and furthering her understanding of him.

  “Here you go
, ma’am!” Jeff announced happily.

Kailin smiled to Jeff and hopped out of the shuttle bus. “Just give me a call when you’re ready to be picked up. I’ll swing right by and get you!”

“Thanks Jeff!” she waved as she walked into the diner.

It was bigger than she’d anticipated, with pool tables in the back and that wonderful scent of something frying in the kitchen.

“Hi there!” one of the waitresses called out. “Just grab any table you want and I’ll bring you a cup of coffee.”

“Thanks,” Kaitlin replied, then moved over to a table by the window and picked up a menu. “Perfect!” she sighed.

The waitress appeared by her elbow, coffee pot in her hands. “You look hungry,” she laughed. “I suspect you’ve spent a bit of time over at that healthy place. Am I wrong?”

“You got it on the first try,” Kaitlin laughed.

“So…” she poured the coffee, then set the pot on the table and pulled out her ordering pad, “how about something warm and decadent?”

Kaitlin sighed with happiness. A woman after her own heart. “How fast can you get me a basket of fried pickles?” she asked.

The waitress laughed, her smile making her whole face light up. “Honey, you just give me five minutes and I’ll be right back. Fried pickles coming up!” And she was gone, the coffee pot in one hand as she waved to another diner with the other.

Kaitlin leaned back in the vinyl booth, closing her eyes as she considered a new plan. Obviously, telling Pierce that she loved him at every opportunity, showering him with affection, and talking to him wasn’t enough. She needed something more. Something that could…

“What’s wrong?” that smooth, deep voice demanded.

Her eyes flashed open and she stared up into Pierce’s eyes, startled by his sudden appearance.

“I thought you went for a run?”

“I did. And then I came back. The receptionist at the front desk told me that you looked upset and that you’d asked to be driven here. So tell me what’s wrong.”
