“Look bro, I made this for you because you wanted to catch bad guys,” she said.
She pressed a button on the big ball and it opened up and one by one she put the balls in place. When the last one went on and the thing finished constructing itself, my jaw dropped when I saw the turret.
I then looked at the two who were taking care of her.
“She wanted to build something and didn’t tell us what,” Annabeth said.
Greer nodded. “We found out a few minutes ago as well.”
I simply sighed and walked over to crouch in front of her and pat her head.
“Thanks, Bro likes your present. You know, Bro has a present for you as well,” I said.
“Really?!” she exclaimed excited.
“Yes, I will show it and you can play today but since you still disobeyed, you will only get to play for one hour and then you will come back,” I told her.
“Mn!” She nodded.
I went downstairs and with Asura helping me, I transported the new robot outside. I placed it on the deck on its three feet which were simple feet and lowered like a plane. I removed the cover and everyone looked curiously at it.
“What is it?” Nova asked confused.
“I made a new Proto but this one is a new kind so I call him Strato,” I told her.
Curiously she walked around before climbing up to the seat behind the glass. In the spot was a connection which she connected to and hooked up to Strato’s system. Also, there was a small handle which was heavily welded and reinforced to handle her weight even if she did some kind of dangerous maneuver.
When she turned it on, the engine roared to life and the propellers fell into place and connected to the gears. Slowly the steam built up and started to spin the propellers.
“Hold on! Is this a flying protector?!” Annabeth suddenly realized what I had said.
As the steam got to its peak, the propellers spun faster. The voice of the draconian princess sounded through the sound of the propellers but I simply crossed my arms and smiled. The bottom propeller got faster and soon the protector lifted up. The bottom propeller was different in that it moved and turned. To lift off, it pointed straight down and when she was two meters up she started to giggle.
“Bro is the best!” Nova shouted.
As she said that, the back propellers turned making her turn at a ninety-degree angle and stopping before the bottom propeller shifted to point backwards and the back propellers spun with even greater intensity and she flew off reaching nearly 130 km/h. The sound of the engine soon vanished in the night with only me smiling away.
“No doubt this would be the best weapon against any pirate group. I think even the scariest of all our weapons, Nova tops them all,” Techno said while chuckling.
“Then stop making things worse!” Annabeth shouted.
“She is scarier than you Techno. An eight-year-old could build such an advanced weapon.” Greer trembled.
“Oh right let's get this downstairs so I can make a proper weapon,” I told them.
The two of them paled but I simply smiled and after a bit of searching I found the buttons to disconnect the parts and rolled them to my workshop and started researching their build before I started improving the design to build a proper prototype.
CHAPTER 19 Fame
Techno PoV
To say I wasn't in the least bit surprised about Nova's turret weapon would be a lie. Though I already knew she had a talent for weapon building since she had made her own rifles, it was more surprising the approach she took in building the weapon.
Instead of building it as one weapon she built it in smaller easier to carry and assemble parts.
The weapon itself sucked because it leaked too much steam but firing a lump of scrap 200 meters was good for something that wasn't even a prototype. Still it didn't have strength.
To see exactly how much power it had, I spent the next day rebuilding the turret but naturally fixing the leaks and using non rusted iron as a test.
The results were much more the satisfying. I made an empty bombshell with a drone inside so I could track it.
I shot it at a 25 degree angle which would be, more or less, an average that would take a cannon ball over to the ship.
To everyone's surprise, the ball flew nearly a kilometer at the angle we shot it at and then started descending stopping nearly three kilometers away.
Everyone in our crew was silent after I passed the info. We then all looked at Nova who innocently tilted her head not understand what was wrong.
This was probably the weapon that held the greatest range.
Now I have to say this. The turret is a cannon but the only part that makes it a cannon was ball five which goes on top and holds the barrel. Because of that I was able to build different kinds of barrels.
For anyone who has seen a proper military turret you know they have a double barrel turret on ships for rapid fire shooting with high caliber rounds.
I tried mimicking it and after just a bit of altering of balls three and four so that they stayed below ball five, I was able to do it.
The rounds were the size of a .50 BMG.
I was curious about its penetration power so my crew went into the scrap yard and after finding a good spot we pulled out five sheets of iron, five of steel and five of earth alchemy steel all of which were 1 cm thick each. We lined them all up on in front of each other standing at 100 meters away and with a single round loaded, we shot.
First off let me say the sound from the shot was scary in itself and the penetration power was off the charts. The bullets were made with black powder as they should be and the barrels engraved like modern bullets to give it spin. The result was that it penetrated to the second to last earth alchemy steel sheet. A single sheet of earth alchemy steel is about twice as hard as regular steel. In other words, something had to have at least 7 cm of earth steel to survive a round from the gun or be stronger than the strength of the same.
Since the distance would alter it, we did more tests and saw that after 500 m the round stopped at the third earth steel sheet.
Since the pirate ships were all made of steel or junk metal, they would die a dog's death with the turret.
Since it was a prototype, Victor and I quickly started working on a final product.
I had him work fast with the golem to gather a lot of minerals to have them produce cores. I asked Ena and Blaze to do the same. We needed to remake our stock of cores. Even with the purchased ones there was a limit that elementals could produce.
Since I had time, I remade the gear makeup of Asura. Since it took a lot of minerals to make a core, the others spent the day gathering resources to make them so I was left with the full day.
All the physical stats on Asura increased by about 20% and with a bit of tweaking I repaired a few codes, improving intelligence by 5% while wisdom stayed the same since that was thinking process and it’s something altered by the actual mind. It did rise before but it was because our minds became cleaner and our brains worked better.
Still it was a good enough improvement that would help out later.
I had time to improve Yasha's code which improved intelligence by 8% and it improved the movement of my body and hands making my agility and dexterity rise by 3%. Guess Yasha needed more programming to properly move still. Anyway, the others returned with two new golem cores and the fire elementals had two as well.
We ground them into powder and began making the alchemy steel for the turret.
With this number of cores, we could make enough steel for two turrets.
Fire steel is resistant to heat so they were used in barrels and pipes while earth steel was under to make a strong body capable of lasting with all the shooting.
The actual part making took longer than building so for the next four days Victor and I, plus all the clockwork robots we controlled, worked on building the stock. Obviously, the golems were made to make more cores. I was going to make three models. Long-range mortars, long-range
cannons and mid-range dual barrel turrets.
There would be two mortars both in the front and back of the ship. The cannons would have four, one on each side of the center part of the deck, one in the back and one in the front, and the turret would have one in the center of the top deck with a 360 rotation base as well as a pilot seat for Victor who would man it.
On the fourth day, Brock finally woke up. He explained what happened. We were rather surprised to find he went to the hospital because of mental fatigue but it seemed he was better. He was limited to playing only one game day which was just about five hours.
Though it was mostly because he was still under observation for two weeks but none the less, we told him not to overexert himself.
I had the girls take him to the mine so he could absorb minerals to regain his strength. His body was too weak for his core so until he got to black iron golem he would be in a weakened state and couldn’t make his sky whale body.
During the time we built the turrets it seemed Rust had finished delivering the ships and came over. It was a simple trade. I passed him a copy of my code before I improved them a few days earlier and it was done.
He took a look at the weapons we were making before just sighing and walking off. I smiled at him seeing as he already understood the strength behind them. Put nicely, I would wager on the pirates retreating while losing half their fleet in the initial confrontation.
I didn’t plan on destroying all of them. I would leave three ships and ‘lose’ them and by chance find their base before ending things.
Like any other game when a place is destroyed it would take money and resources to reconstruct. Getting rid of all the ships plus the base of operations, I was sure to make a large number of enemies but then again, when someone PK’s a pirate especially when you gained a quest like this there are naturally high rewards.
Mission: Pirate Genocide
The first signs of trash grouping up together have already appeared. Criminals, scum or lazy ass dropouts who don’t have anything better to do have been causing trouble and stealing precious steel parts for ships and weapons that are transported to the Shipyard City.
Your task is to eliminate all the pirates leaving them with little to work with.
Difficulty:
E
Reward:
???, development of clockwork nation.
Success
Success: Kill all pirates both players and NPCs.
Failure:
You die.
Because it was a formal request to kill all of them, I wasn’t holding back and I planned to vent my stress on these guys. Not only that, I wouldn't get any penalty because they were already marked men.
Pirates are automatically considered PK so they are marked for killing even if they never killed and only stole.
When we finished building the turrets, I placed them in their designated stations. With a command it opened up and the balls were released for us to build.
When I had free time I planned to try using drones like that. The tech had too much potential to leave it at turrets.
Anyway, I took the rest of the fifth and the whole sixth day to upgrade my Yasha body, Bulk and Nova. Also, we upgraded Victor’s armor. He asked if we could make a battle suit like one a pilot sits inside.
We said we would do it some other time. It would probably be too high-level to use.
My body's physical stats raised a lot though we didn't change any plates so my durability in both bodies remained the same. This was my stats as of that moment.
Physical stats on Asura increased in about 20% and intelligence by 5%.

The 144 points I had recently added made my stats really intimidating. Speaking of which, I never once added stat points to Nova.
Using my parental control I opened her status window.

I really wanted to ask when she got that much luck but then after thinking of a few of the things that happened to us it was easy to understand. Her charisma probably came from the Menthol thing and her stopping him so easily.
She wasn't a close-range fighter and used the protectors so I focused on the other stuff.
I put 70 points on dexterity and agility since both helped with ranged classes. With the last 70, I put 50 points on toughness and the last 20 on strength.
With this, her durability reached 1635 points and agility and dexterity reached the scary 200s. I was sure that with this the chances of her hitting a small dinghy at nearly 2 km away was high enough that she could send the cannonball right onto its deck.
I was really overdoing it with her for sure. Even if we didn't stay here 35 years that my sentence said I would. We would probably fight someone of Delta's strength in a few years.
It occurred to me then that the game had an online auction. I didn't know how mom and dad were, but it would be good to support them a bit. Maybe when I get a comfortable distance ahead of other players, I could do that.
Anyway, all we had left to do was set up the turret stations and wait for Brock to heal up.
Brock PoV
Man I hadn't felt that weak since I was a level 1. I couldn't have my body grow because the minerals I needed were different. Still, my earth magic had been amplified and I could use a subcategory called metal magic. Just like its name suggests, I could manipulate metals both minerals and refined.
My ability to gather and extract iron and obsidian was greatly helped by that.
Still, I need so much iron that instead of going to the iron veins, I headed into the mine shafts that were once used to get down to the lava pool.
The reason was that I would probably drain the iron vein completely.
The pool itsel
f had cooled down and the body of the golem was still there solid and with a huge hole it its chest.
After examining it I found the room had a lot of obsidian and even more so in the remains of the lava golem.
I told Victor to wait while I gathered enough.
I climbed up into the hole in the golem’s chest and placed both hands down on the ground below me. My arms mixed into the remains of the golem and I could feel the huge reserve of obsidian in the room.
I also saw that it was acting as a lid for the lava below so I couldn't take it from places that would break the balance. Still the body of the dead golem had a lot so I gathered from there.
As I drain the dead body, I could feel my strength return. Or should I say increase. My strength as the earth doll was the same as before. Put simply, earth spirit golems are an OP golem or even a boss class race.
Speaking of that, it seems my class changed finally. I actually wondered if it ever changed, since few jobs existed. Still, sky whale (infant) is a rather… strange class. It seemed to be a beginner race class linked directly to my ability to create a second body.
It didn't give abilities or skills probably because of that. Still what it did give was a massive growth in skill when absorbing iron and obsidian.
Anyway, when I finally finished absorbing the obsidian in the lava golem’s corpse, I had reached the amount of obsidian I needed. Not only that, I was already back to my full adult size.
You have reached the minimum size for an adolescent earth spirit.
You have gained new racial skills.
Secondary Body
[Level 1]
As an earth spirit you are given the right to have a second body upon reaching adulthood. The form is in the shape of a large flat back whale. After a certain size you can hold animals and plants on your back.
