Storm- A Wings of Diablo MC Novel #8 Page 16

by Lake, Rae B.

  “Mr. Juric.” I approach him.

“No, boy, I will not hear what you say. I’ve already given you my answer.” He rolls his gold eyes at me and then settles onto his daughter, “Is this why you forced me to bring you to the States? Did you think this was going to change my mind? You should know better, Orza.”

“Sir.” I try to get a word in, but now it’s Duo who cuts me off.

“Yes, I do know better. I know you will fight tooth and nail to protect your family. You will always do right by them, even if you don’t want to. Am I wrong, Tata?”

“Of course not, but this man isn’t family. He is nothing to us.”

“He is family,” Duo replies matter of factly.

“O čemu ti pričaš, he is no family of mine.” His face is getting beet red, clearly not understanding what is going on. I don’t either, actually.

“He is. At least in about six months, he will be,” Duo turns her face in my direction, trying to gauge my reaction.

I blink a few times, making sure I’m adding correctly. She’s fucking pregnant!

“You’re pregnant?” I turn her to me and bend down so I can get eye level with her.

“Yeah, not even out of the first trimester yet.”

  “Pregnant?” I ask again.

“Yeah, Storm. You’re going to be a daddy.” She smiles a little brighter now.

I jump up and turn around, shadow punching the air behind me. I am fucking giddy. I came in here thinking I was only coming to fight for Duo, but now I have a whole family to live for and protect. This is the right fucking path.

I turn back around and lift her off the ground and kiss her directly on the mouth. She squirms and kicks her legs to get down. I wasn’t supposed to do that in front of her father, but if he kills me for being happy, now would be the time.

“I see.” Liam Juric looks down.

I am pulling his daughter back into a life his niece just fought to get out of. I know he has concerns, and I have to ease them. “I know this isn’t what you want, but I love your daughter, and I can protect her. I will do right by her.”

“For as long as you can. I’m sure Wire promised the same things, no?” He turns to look at his brother.

  “That he did. He failed.”

“I can’t promise I’ll never fail, but I will give my life to protect her and this baby,” I reply.

He comes from behind the table with a bottle of wine and walks over to me. “I guess we have something to celebrate then.”

I embrace him and take the bottle of wine.

I turn and kiss Duo. She hugs me hard.

“I hope you’re ready for this, Dewdrop.”

  “I’ve been ready for this.”

The wind blows against my face as I push my bike to the limit. These past few months riding on my own have been eye-opening, but I’ve never stopped looking for Keeley. Then when I went to the clubhouse and all that shit went down, seeing the few members of the Juric family only drives me to search harder. I already know she’s not in Vegas, but I also know she hasn’t left the country.

She needs her time, I understand that, but my patience has worn out.

I want my woman and my child, and there is nothing that’s going to stop me from getting them back.

If I can get through all the shit we’ve been through as a club and can survive on my own as a nomad, me winning Keeley back should be a fucking breeze. If there is a fight to be had, I’m ready to blow up the fucking world until my woman is back in my arms.

  Nothing matters.

Nothing but my brothers and my club.

Those are the only two things in my life I give a damn about.

My ex made sure I’d never trust another woman and Celine is no exception.

Problem is... she doesn’t trust me either.

After being taken, groomed, and forced to be Thomas’ newest plaything I can understand why.

I saw her strength on the edge of a river, hands cuffed, in a ripped dress, as she fought for her life, and she hasn’t stopped fighting since.

My president has given the order to protect her until we get the threat under control, but that means I have to let Celine into the darkest parts of me.

What I wasn’t expecting was for her to make herself at home, and now I can’t let her go.

Find out about the Juric Crime Family!

  Sven

The first moment I laid my eyes on her, I hated her more than any of my family’s enemies. She was clad in a long, white gown, being dragged down the aisle by a dubious ally.

She’s nothing but a hindrance, a headache I don’t want, and a constant reminder that I made a grave mistake.

The moment I put my mark on her it solidified to the world she’s mine, but it doesn’t matter. To this day she’s still fighting me, and I doubt it’ll ever change.

Yet I’m captivated by her strength. Women like Ema aren’t meant for men like me. She doesn’t fit in my world, and she doesn’t want to be in it.

None of that matters when an enemy makes an attempt at her life. She’s mine even if she doesn’t want to accept it.

I’ll be damned if she’s ever taken away from me.

A Special Thanks to Inferno’s Clutch MC and E.C. Land

Just want to give a special thanks to the kick ass MC author E.C. Land for letting her Inferno’s Clutch MC cameo a bit in my story! There is more to come and I can’t wait until we blow our readers minds!

Check out the series if you want to find out more about Chains, Tiny and everyone’s favorite gator, Bart.
