I’m so sensitive I can barely stand the feeling, but he keeps going and it starts to feel amazing all over again. I don’t know how long he spends down there kissing me, but he makes me come again and again before he stands up, cock in his hand. He licks at his lips as he strokes a hand over his dick.
“I need to tell you something. I’d do anything for you, and so would Nick and Asher.”
I sit up, wondering why he isn’t inside me yet. He’s ready. I can see that. And damn, watching him stroke his dick is getting me revved up all over again.
“I know, Eli. I feel the same way.”
“I don’t think you understand, Eden.” He moves my hand away when I try to pull him towards me. “And I need to say it before I forget. Your fourth is your choice. It isn’t dependent on what we want. It’s what you want.”
What I want? I feel my heart start to sink. “I thought you changed your mind.”
“I want Logan,” he says, while his hand is still pumping his cock.
Seriously dirty thoughts rush through my head.
“You want him,” he corrects, with a grin. “What I’m saying is, if it makes you happy, it makes me happy. There’s resistance right now, but Nick and Asher will feel the same way. They just don’t get how much this means to you yet.”
“It doesn’t have to mean...”
“You don’t want one of the other potentials, Eden. You love him. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. You’re a Goddess, and you don’t need to deny anything you desire. We’re yours. We’ll do anything you want.”
Oh those words set my desire straight back on overdrive. It doesn’t matter how many times he makes me come for him, I’m always going to want more.
“I love you so fucking much,” I tell him.
He smiles, stroking his cock a little harder. He still isn’t moving closer, but I think I get why now.
“I want you inside me, Eli. I want to come screaming your name as your dick slams into me. That’s what I want right now.”
He moves, finally, and I scramble back until he pins me down on the middle of the bed. When he pushes inside, I gasp out his name. He smiles as he begins to move just as achingly slowly as he’s been kissing me.
“Anything you want, Eden.”
Chapter Forty-Two
Nick
I took the laptop to the suite and left it there while the place was empty. Eden would be back within the hour and Eli would be back to get his time alone with her. I didn’t want to risk running into Eden, not while Eli’s claiming this as his night with her.
I head back to the club to waste time afterwards. I couldn’t go back to stay at the hotel without getting too curious to leave Eden and Eli alone. Just knowing they were naked and sweating in the other room would be enough to leave me with a permanent hard-on for the night. Hell, I’m hard right now and I’m only thinking about them.
I groan and stroke the bulge in the front of my jeans. Trying to concentrate on work stuff was a mistake. I need to go up to the apartment and watch a skin flick until I burn off this haze of lust.
I get up and move out of the office, adjusting my pants to make the hard-on less obvious. Being big makes it more difficult. I pull at my shirt and it sort of covers it enough to be semi-respectable. As long as no-one’s looking too closely.
Doesn’t matter much. I’ll be in my apartment in a few minutes anyway.
“Nicky,” a familiar female voice makes my blood run cold as I move toward the elevator.
Her long-nailed fingers brush my skin and I cringe. “Tanya. What are you doing here?”
She smiles as I turn her way, as if she didn’t even notice the lack of enthusiasm in my tone. “I heard you were in town and I wanted to come see for myself.”
“Well, take a good look.” I hold out my arms.
“Are you busy tonight?” Her calculating gaze flicks over me, and I recognise the instant she spots my hard-on. Her cat-got-the-cream smile is uncalled for, but she doesn’t know that.
“I have plans. Nice seeing you.” I turn away but I can tell when she’s following me. I forgot how persistent she could be. It’s the only reason I ended up fucking her twice. There wasn’t a third time, though. Fool me once. The second time was on me, and it didn’t happen again after that, no matter how hard she tried.
“Plans with Eden Rose?” she asks.
I stop walking. I can hear the smirk she’s growing. She thinks she’s needling me. She thinks this is the way into my pants? Bitch must be crazy. I turn one last time before I hit the button for the elevator.
“Fuck off, Tanya.” I leave her jaw dropping, as the doors close. Probably a bad move, pissing the vengeful bitch off. But what’s the worst she could do, seriously? It’s not like she’s a Goddess.
The elevator moves upwards and I start unbuttoning my jeans. The rager I’d been growing was starting to feel painful trapped in there. I need a release and I need it quick. I pull my dick out and rub it in long, slow strokes. Eli’s probably tying Eden up right now, spanking that sweet ass of hers until it’s red and she’s gasping to catch her breath. Fuck. I’m going to come so quickly thinking of them.
I know Eli’s kink even if I’ve only seen flashes of it so far. He likes to be in control. He likes to push Eden to her limits. I fucking love that about him. The elevator doors open and I step out into my apartment. The lights are out. I don’t even think about turning them on.
I’m remembering the way Eli opened Eden’s pussy with his hand in the limo. The way his dick felt when it pressed in against mine. The heat when his seed spilled into Eden. She was soaked when we were done with her. The way she seemed to just glow with bliss afterwards made me hard all over again.
I’d stroked myself then, knowing my dick was slick with Eli’s come. I came so fast I don’t think either of them even noticed. He was so intent on cleaning her up and she was so damned relaxed. Her little moans as he stroked her pussy with the towel were so fucking primal. The memory tips me over the edge. I brace myself against the kitchen counter and stroke my cock until my release streams out and spills over my hand.
I blow out a breath. No skin-flick could ever be as satisfying as sharing Eden, and everything’s moving faster with Eli than it did with Asher. He really doesn’t give a shit if our dicks touch. Hell, he licked mine when he was giving Eden head last night. The memory makes me rock-hard again. I’m starting to think I’m running on supernaturally charged Viagra. I was always a little sex-obsessed before, but now it’s a bad day if I don’t get hard at least three times in a row. There has to be something to being one of hers. I head for the shower. Maybe I can put it on cold after I nut again.
Chapter Forty-Three
Logan
Another night, another dream about sharing Eden with Elias Ramirez. It’s starting to feel like prophecy. When he showed up last night, I was suspicious but not completely surprised. If any one of Eden’s men was going to be the one to reach out over this, I knew it would be him.
Asher reached out when he needed help to protect her, but he isn’t interested in accepting me as one of Eden’s lovers. And Nick goes out of his way to avoid me. Eli may be psychotic at times, but he has the heart of a cop, deep down. He wants to know the truth, even if it’s not going to be pleasant.
I wake up with extra hard morning wood, and a slightly fuzzy head. I ignore the former as a side effect of the filthy dream and I sink a couple of painkillers to take care of the latter.
Last night, things started to seem simple. Eli came because he knew Eden still had feelings for me, and he wanted to find a way to be okay with that. He got what he came for. That doesn’t mean everything is resolved.
As it always does, the morning after brings with it doubts.
Eden doesn’t really want me. If she did, she would have come to see me. Not him.
I ignore the fact that she didn’t know he came to see me. It suits my mood better to believe she doesn’t care. No matter what, she’s always going to be the woman who cho
se to save Asher’s life over mine. How can we ever get past that?
It’s never going to happen. Even if I do apologise to Asher and force Nick to speak to me. All Eli did last night was come bearing false hope. I should have told him to shove it up his ass.
I get to my feet, groaning at the headache that isn’t showing any signs of fading. Once I leave the room, it only takes a few seconds to discover Skyler didn’t come home last night.
Not that surprising considering I’m just for show. Kind of makes me wonder what she’s doing today. If it’s something that involves Eden, I’m not sure if I’m relieved or disappointed that I’m not included.
I get showered and dressed and leave the apartment to get food. I need a real breakfast to take care of this hang-over. If Sky needs me, she’ll call.
I get walking, and find myself stopped at a newsstand, staring at a particularly raunchy image of Eden on the front page of a trashy tabloid. The row of papers in the entertainment section all feature her in some way. My blood begins to boil as my gaze slides over the headlines. They’re calling her a slut, a whore, a temptress. Almost all of them mention four men. Some are taking educated guesses at who her ‘boyfriends’ are. At least two have quotes from Hunter, amused that it’s taken four men to fill his boots. I look at it all and I want to kill whoever did this, but this wasn’t the work of one person. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
“Get you something, buddy?” The guy on the stand asks.
“You can stop selling this trash,” I snap at him, walking away before the urge to rip the stand to pieces can take me over. It won’t do any good to ruin one damn display. Those papers are all over the damn town. Half of them will be all over the fucking planet.
I keep walking, trying to burn off the anger before I get to the cafe. One thing’s for sure. Next time I see Hunter, he’s going to be lucky to walk away without a fatality.
Chapter Forty-Four
Asher
Eli opens the door and I go inside, not bothering to look around for Eden. Nick sent me the schedule. I didn’t get here in time to see her before she left to go shoot her new single’s music video.
“Nick went with her?”
Eli nods. “She wasn’t sure about being seen with us both. Turns out the media already have Nick locked down as one of her men. They know about him, so she can be seen with him.”
Makes sense, I suppose. At least while she’s keeping our identities private. “Has she met with Xander yet?”
He shakes his head. “No, but she did bump into Arianna at one of her interviews. Definitely a Dark Forces Goddess, and Eden does not want to go there.”
“I don’t blame her.” I’m not sure I like the idea of adding another woman to our tight-knit group besides. If it’s what Eden wants I could live with it, but I get the feeling it would completely change the dynamics.
“Nick seemed disappointed, but he’ll get over it,” Eli says with a smile. “Have you eaten?”
I haven’t, and I barely noticed until he asked. “Is there a room service menu?”
He shakes his head. “You just call them and ask for whatever you want. This is the presidential suite. They’ll bring in Taco Bell and Burger King orders if that’s what their guests of honor want.”
My first thought is cheese and crackers but I’m going to blame Sasha’s unexpected picnic the other day for bringing those cravings back. It’s too early to be drinking wine, besides.
Eli picks up the phone. “What do you want? I was about to call them anyway.”
I hesitate, before quickly realising he’s not going to judge me for what I eat for lunch. That thing with Nick and the donuts really made me paranoid. “A club sandwich would be great.”
He nods and makes the call, ordering himself a roast beef sub.
I take a look around, marvelling at the size of the room. I’ve never been much for travelling, but the couple of hotel rooms I’ve been inside in my lifetime looked nothing like this.
“Shouldn’t take long,” Eli tells me as he hangs up and heads for one of the couches. “Eden will be at that shoot all day. She promised she’d be back tonight. We should talk about Logan.”
Straight to the point. Okay. I remove my jacket and take a seat across from him. He has something to unload and I’m not sure I really want to hear it, but I can’t do anything to avoid it. I blow out a breath. “Fine. Let’s get this over with.”
“I know a lot has happened between you two. I didn’t exactly like him either.”
I doubt many people really do. Wait. Did he just say... “Didn’t?”
I know by the way his gaze drifts away from mine that I’m right. He may not have liked Logan before, but whatever happened when he spoke to the guy changed that.
He clears his throat and begins to explain, “Eden rejected him, and she chose you over him. The next woman he met used him to torture her. She used his anger to manipulate him, and she used her power to command him. If Diana hadn’t been around, he wouldn’t have shot you.”
I take it in and curse under my breath. I’d been ignoring the obvious. Eli’s words sink in deep and slowly chip away at the wall I’ve built up around the idea of Logan as Eden’s fourth.
“I never thought about it like that.” I don’t like it, but I should have known. It makes me squirmy inside, but nothing he’s telling me is news. It’s just been hiding behind Logan’s actions. The truth was always there, we were just ignoring it, because it’s easier to hate him than it is to attempt to understand. “Fucking Diana.”
She may be dead now, but I won’t be canonising her as a saint. She’d hate it if I did anyway. Devious to the bitter end, and demanding with it. Maybe Logan’s the saint.
“The woman was nothing but trouble,” Eli tells me, with a wry smile.
“He loved her though,” I tell him, wondering how that was possible when she was manipulating him so badly. I shake my head. Plenty of men fall for women that are bad for them. No. That’s not what’s really bothering me here. It’s not what’s making my stomach squirm at the thought of Logan becoming part of our group. “Eden told me he couldn’t handle the thought of sharing her.”
It makes what we’re talking about pointless. Even if we all forgive him, he doesn’t want to be a part of Eden’s life in the way she needs him to be. He won’t share her. He can’t be her fourth.
Eli’s gaze doesn’t waver from mine. “Something changed.” He hesitates for a second, before leaning forward. “Before Eden slept with me I started having these intense, heated dreams. I wanted to be a part of this so damned badly and I thought it was just a side effect of getting close to someone I was falling for.” He sighs softly. “It had been years since I’d slept with anyone so I expected it had more to do with that, than anything else.”
Wait, what? There’s no way he hasn’t... Oh. Wait. I feel the color drain from my face as I realise he’s talking about his last girlfriend, the one who was killed years back. People were suspicious when he was freed as a potential suspect, and he’d just lost a woman he’d been seeing for months. Of course it would have affected his love life. I just hadn’t realised how much.
He rubs at his jaw before he goes on. “But when I touched Logan’s arm, something strange happened. It was as if I could see into his mind. For a few seconds, and then it cut out. I saw that shimmer of a glow that Eden sometimes gets when she touches people. Her Goddess light. I think I used it, without realising it, somehow. You think that’s possible?”
I nod. “I’ve been able to use it for a while now. I thought it was because she saved my life, but maybe it’s because all of us can use it.”
“Okay, well, whatever it was, I saw into his head. He’d been having the dreams, the same kind as mine only they weren’t including all of us. I was a part of them. Me and Eden both.”
Interesting. “I didn’t have dreams, and Nick’s never mentioned anything like that.”
“Maybe you two got together with Eden without any hesitation?” Eli asks, cur
iosity in his gaze.
“We did get together pretty quickly,” I tell him, trying to shake off the questions all these reveals are raising in my head. If all we can do is speculate, there’s no point focusing on it. “I wonder if it’s part of knowing you’re meant to be hers.”
Eli shrugs. “Whatever it is, he’s feeling it. If it’s anything like what I went through, he’s definitely open to sharing her now.”
Well, shit. I sigh and lean back in the seat. “This is starting to feel inevitable.”
“They love each other. If there hadn’t been so much bad blood between the rest of us, I think he’d already be a part of this.”
He’s right. I know he is. It doesn’t mean I have to like it. It does mean I have to consider what I can do to make this easier on Eden. “Does she know you spoke to him?”
“She knows we made amends.”
“What did she say about that?”
“She was happy at first, but then this morning she told me it still feels wrong, and she has plans to locate Xander to see how that pans out when they meet.”
“You don’t like that idea?”
He shrugs. “Look what happened with Blake. All we need is one Dark Forces descendant to come along and shatter the idea to pieces. You know as well as I do she’ll take her time to make sure she’s not making a mistake. That makes it risky. Until she confirms him, he’s not safe.”
“Damn.” He’s making far too much sense right now. “Where’s Logan today?”
Might as well get talking to him over with. See if this idea of Eli’s is workable.
He shakes his head. “He wasn’t sure what Sky’s plans were for the day.”
I forgot that’s who he’s working for. I almost feel sorry for the guy. She’s probably dragging him all over town looking for a lunch venue that serves Unicorn Fuzz cocktails.
“Nick’s going to be a problem.” Eli frowns. “Do you know why he hates Logan so much?”
